VendorDataSource

Ok, the tutorial on multiple database links gave "VendorDataSource" command as part of the code to get things going.
Thing is it won't compile, and appears nowhere on the API..... is this normal or am i really missing something. Tutorial fragment below
VendorDataSource vds = new VendorDataSource();
vds.setServerName("my_database_server");
vds.setDatabaseName("my_database");
vds.setDescription("the data source for inventory and personnel");
Context ctx = new InitialContext();
ctx.bind("jdbc/AcmeDB", vds);
Also, what do I replace "jdbc" on last line with, I have a MySQL connector/J

VendorDataSource is not a class.. just a representation of the general classname that can come when u use a jdbc driver.
if some jdbc driver vendor like 'FOO' has a Datasource implementation, they may name it as FooDataSource :-)
ITs just custom implementation and u should refer your jdbc driver documentation to see what is the name of the Datasource class that you should use..
thank god the classname might always have the word 'DataSource' appended.
