VerifierConfigurationException when running James on Linux

I recently downloaded the James 2.3.1 binary and changed the config files to use our own database. I am able to run this from my windows box, but when I moved it to Linux, I got the following exception:
NoClassDefFoundError org/iso_relax/verifier/VerifierConfiguratioException
I also checked this into SVN and someone else tried it on their windows machine and is getting the same exception as my linux box. We have tried everything to figure this out (even running dos2unix on the .xml configuration files when porting to linux)...same error.

You might want to check note : 297777.1 on Metalink, I had the same problem.

Please verify that the LC_CTYPE is unset before restarting the upgrade.

Do all of those files exist on your sytemd? I'm not running testing nor systemd in my initrd, so I can't do much checking.

Java.lang.NullPointerException when running weblogic on linux

I installed the generic release of the Oracle WebLogic (wls1033_generic.jar) on my server (Ubuntu 64bit). When starting the application I am getting the following java exception. Is this a bug?

IO no longer works when running on Linux

Hi everyone,
I have some code which was originally developed and running on a Windows environment, now I am trying to get it working under Linux. Some of the JSP file which output data as text files do not display correctly, I assume that if I change the JSP files to the UNIX newline characters this will fix the problem?
The other issue is that there is some code which saves data to a file, the directory given may be local or on a network. It worked fine under Windows, but throws an Exception below when running under Linux even when using the UNIX like path structure (/machinename/dir/dir/filename). The code is below:

People would have more of an idea if you posted the full exception text and a clue as to which line it was thrown from.
Also, WTF is with all the addExtraBackslashes stuff? It looks like it's going through and doubling-up each \ character. I'm guessing this won't do anything on Linux if you've configured your paths to use / instead, but even so, what did it do on Windows?!
And what are the values of fileDir and filePath? Does fileDir end in a /? Instead of having to worry about that, you could use new File(fileDir, filePath) to construct an abstract path and pass that to your FileOutputStream.

Report fails when run in Workspace, but it works in reporting studio

The server which workspace runs is on Linux, but the reporting studio client runs on windows desktops, this is the only difference i know off.
I have chopped and changed things whilst testing this report and it appears that the fault relates to the Cursor and the navigation (Fetch) through the records.
This is starting to drive me around the bend.

Problem when Installing from Existing Linux with Arch's Image

Hey!
I'm just getting started with Arch Linux. I made a 20GB unallocated space between my Win7 and Ubuntu partitions, created a new ext4 partition and I'm currently following this guide ("another method" section) in order to install my first attempt of Arch Linux.
I'm on a 64-bit Ubuntu and want to install a 64-bit Arch Linux too, so I'm using the image archlinux-2011.08.19-core-x86_64.iso and in the process of following the instructions in the mentioned guide, I replaced i686 by x86_64.
The problem comes up when I try to do the chrooting, where I get:
chroot: failed to run command `/bin/bash': No such file or directory
Any idea what could I be doing wrong?

Ok, I had just messed up when mounting the different directories. Sorry for the noise...
Anyway, found more errors when running:
aif -p interactive
about not finding /lib/modules/3.0.0-13-generic/modules.dep... what makes me think that this guide is intended to be followed when running also an Arch as the Existing Linux.
I think I'll just go with the flash drive option...

Part.getContent() is never decoded when running on Mac through WebStart

I have an application using JavaMail 1.4.3 to extract content from MimeMessages. This works great when run locally on Mac, Windows and Linux, and also on Windows and Linux through WebStart. When run through WebStart on the Mac, content from parts are never decoded, so I just get the stream class when calling part.getContent().
It seems like some functionality is lost when running through WebStart on the Mac. I realize this can be a problem with the Java implementation on the Mac, but I'm hoping someone can give me a pointer as to how to figure out what's going wrong. If I start from the command line with the same JRE used by WebStart, everything is fine on the Mac as well.

I was too quick - part.getContent() is now decoded for most content types, for example text/plain, rfc822, all MimeBody types etc, but for text/html I always just get an empty string. Is text/html handled differently, maybe reading in another config-file or something, so I need to handle this case in another way?

Cloning context file on db tier fails when run non-interactively

Hi all,
I have a problem where cloning the DB tier context file using adclonectx.pl non-interactively using a pairsfile and noprompt fails in certain circumstances and continually returns this error
Target System Port Pool [0-99] : RC-00201: Error: Not a valid port pool number
If we clone from prod or uat (which are on different nodes) to non-prod it works fine, if we clone from a different non-prod environment (on the same node) it fails.
We can run adclonectx.pl interactively with the same pairsfile and it works, so I copied all of the variables in the log into the pairsfile and ran it non-interactively and it failed with the same error.
My understanding is that adclonectx.pl uses the source DB context file and the pairsfile to create the new context file. I've tried cloning the context file non-interactively from several different non-prod envs with the same error, so I don't think it's specific to 1 source env.
It seems to want to prompt for the portpool when it's on the same node as the source environment.
EBS 12.1.3, DB 11.2.0.3 RAC 2 node on Oracle Linux 5.

That makes sense to me ... the pool parameter should be in the pairsfile, .. or in the parameters when calling it at command line
You can force the pool to be changed, even when you're on the same server. Actually, I would use different pools for any environment, different server or not. And, avoid the default pool as well. If you do it this way, one of the advantages is that you spot issues - like the one you have - much much earlier. In that case, you would need that extra parameter on every run.

About:config settings change by themselves when switching between windows/linux on dual-boot machine with profile shared between OSs

I dual-boot ubuntu and windows7, and have set up firefox to use the same profile data when running under either OS. This works great, except:
(1) each time I switch OSs and start firefox, it runs the "checking add-on compatibility" test (which is a minor annoyance)
(2) each time I start firefox in ubuntu after recently using it under windows, the about:config setting "browser.backspace.action" gets reset from my preferred setting (0) to the default setting (2).
How can I prevent these two things from happening?

Maybe it is better to use separate profiles for each OS and create symlinks or hard links to the sqlite databases that you want to share.
Your Linux profile may be using extensions (e.g. Ubuntu Firefox Modifications) that modify specific settings and in such a case you can't really prevent this.<br />
You can use a user.js file to initialize specific prefs on each start, but that makes it impossible to make changes on the about:config page that last the current session and you need to remember which prefs are affected.

Scarey problem when running anything in 3D mode

Hi,
I own a MSI KT4 Ultra motherboard, have done for years and it worked flawlessly with my Voodoo3 3000 PCI graphics card. However, a while ago I retired the old beast in favour of a (then new) Nvidia FX 5950 Ultra AGP card. After a while, I noticed a very scarey problem when running any 3D applications...
The first time I noticed it happening, I was playing Max Payne 2. The game suddenly went very slow, then the machine suddenly powered off (as if I pulled the power plug). I was unable to get it to restart, and eventually traced the problem back to my PSU, or so I thought...
So, with a new PSU, I was okay for about a month, when it happened again, different game this time. So I promptly brought yet another PSU.
Now with this PSU, when the system powers off in that scarey fashion it does, the computer actually re-starts when I pull the power cable out, count to 30, and put it back in again. Yet this PSU is a mear 300w (the others were 400w and 550w).
Now the really scarey thing is that it's happening a whole lot more now. Even in 3D screensavers! When I played UT2004 this morning, it happened before I could even start a game! It seems that *any* 3D app causes this problem. It's very scarey seeing your computer shut down in this way.
I tried re-setting the BIOS to 'safe' settings. However, if anything, it made the problem worse!
I've noticed this behaviour in both Windows XP and Linux.
Specs I think would be usefull:
Athlon XP 2600+
NVidia FX 5950 Ultra
2 HDs
1 CD-Rom
Lots of fans (still runs hotter than I'd like, but is stable).
Any help would be appeciated

Spoke too soon , right after I made that post, my machine crashed and rebooted in the most awfull fashion whilst playing Enemy Territory.
I have a feeling it could be to do with how hard the hardware is being pushed. As UT2004 nearly always breaks, and pushes the hardware a lot harder than Enemy Territory does (Enemy Territory worked on my old Voodoo3 3000 PCI!). I can usually play a good session of Enemy territory and get bored of the game so I quit without doing a restart.
I've still yet to get a new PSU (money is tight at the moment). I'll be able to get a new one soon. Any suggestions on a uber-powerfull one that couldn't possibly be underpowered? Preferably with two fans (inside and out) with a passthrough for my monitor.

ADT packaging with native extensions : permission denied error when running remote build.

Hi Team,
We are facing the following error when running the nightly ant build script on Mac machine for our air mobile application. We are using iOS native extensions and package with ADT. This works fine when we run the build as local user in the Mac machine. Earlier we faced some issues due to headless build and we have added the <headless-server>true</headless-server> in corresponding config files (flex-config.xml, airmobile-config.xml). After that we are facing the following error, even when we run the ant build in headless mode using the following command.
ant -Djava.awt.headless=true -f build.xml buildPackage
When running this build as local user in the Mac build machine, we see a window opening with com.adobe.air.ADT while packaging. This is the issue when running nightly build as there is no graphics window.
Can anybody please help how to get rid of this issue for nightly build using adt,jar?

Note: Before the above error that were two other errors .
1) The build complained that the adt-bundle-linux toolchain could not be found and required that it be added to .mozconfig. This was done.
2) The build complained that dx could not be found.
The configure file was edited and the values $DX, $AAPT and $AIDL were all set to the adt-bundle-linux/sdk/build-tools/android-4.4 path.
The instructions given on the Mozilla Wiki did not work right for Android and several modifications were made to move it along. But this permission error is tough to figure out.

8.2.1 crash when run certain vi on vista.

When run the attached vi, lv will crash everytime as screenshot, any suggestion?

There could be a number of reasons why your code crashes - which vi was it?
Have you checked for memory leaks? or CPU usage?
When you say "on vista" does this mean it doesnt crash XP?
Does you code crash another machine?
More details would really help the community to resolve your issue.
