Verifying teststand installation before initializing applicationMgr

Hi,
I'm having an issue with my custom .NET console when it is deployed on a station and TestStand is not installed.
It seems to crash in the MainForm class when InitializeComponents() function is called.
It crashes on the line in bold:
            // MainForm
            this.BackColor = System.Drawing.Color.FromArgb(((int)(((byte)(191)))), ((int)(((byte)(219)))), ((int)(((byte)(255)))));
            this.ClientSize = new System.Drawing.Size(1014, 732);
            this.Controls.Add(this.axApplicationMgr);
            this.Controls.Add(this.mainSplitContainer);
            this.Controls.Add(this.statusStrip1);
            this.Controls.Add(this.menuStrip);
            this.Font = new System.Drawing.Font("Tahoma", 8.25F, System.Drawing.FontStyle.Regular, System.Drawing.GraphicsUnit.Point, ((byte)(0)));
            this.ForeColor = System.Drawing.Color.FromArgb(((int)(((byte)(54)))), ((int)(((byte)(60)))), ((int)(((byte)(146)))));
            this.FormBorderStyle = System.Windows.Forms.FormBorderStyle.Fixed3D;
            this.Icon = ((System.Drawing.Icon)(resources.GetObject("$this.Icon")));
            this.MaximumSize = new System.Drawing.Size(1440, 900);
            this.Name = "MainForm";
            this.StartPosition = System.Windows.Forms.FormStartPosition.CenterScreen;
            this.Text = "GEMINI - Alstom Montreal";
            this.Load += new System.EventHandler(this.MainForm_Load);
            this.Closing += new System.ComponentModel.CancelEventHandler(this.MainForm_Closing);
            this.menuStrip.ResumeLayout(false);
            this.menuStrip.PerformLayout();
            this.statusStrip1.ResumeLayout(false);
            this.statusStrip1.PerformLayout();
            this.mainSplitContainer.ResumeLayout(false);
            ((System.ComponentModel.ISupportInitialize)(this.axApplicationMgr)).EndInit();
            this.ResumeLayout(false);
            this.PerformLayout();
When I deploy the console, the following TestStand dlls are deployed with the console executable:
NationalInstruments.TestStand.Utility.dll
Interop.TSSyncLib.dll
NationalInstruments.TestStand.Interop.API.dll
NationalInstruments.TestStand.Interop.UI.dll
NationalInstruments.TestStand.Interop.UI.Support.dll
NationalInstruments.TestStand.Interop.UI.AxControls.dll
Is this an expected behavior or a bug?
Is there a way using the TS API to check if TestStand is currently installed (with or without valid license) on the station?
Thanks for your help.

I've add a try-catch in the InitializeComponents() function of the form.
I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, that the error is in the activeX, so not easy to debug since I can't trace in it.
I've attached the error pop-up with stack trace.
The dlls are from TS 4.2.
Thanks.

    I am trying to reinstall Dreamweaver CS3 from the CD after having computer issues.  Now getting error "You can only install one Adobe product at a time.  Please complete the other installation before attempting to install ......."  There is no other Adobe product installing.  I have used the Adobe Cleaner Tool many times and uninstalled other Adobe Products but neither has worked.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled this CD version of Dreamweaver several times when changing computers and after having computer issues. A google search of the problem suggested it may be an error related to the number of times I can reinstall this product due to licensing issues.  Please help.

    Absolutely not. You are misinterpreting things. The activation check never happens when just running the installer, only much later. It means what it says - there is another "install" pending/ active on your system, meaning somewhere there is an (invisible) process still blocking things. Either way, since you haven't provided any real technical info, we can't advise specifically. if you are on Windows, you may want to check your task manager and terminate any setup.exe and msiexec.exe processes plus potentially may need to manually fix/ delete some registry keys. For anything beyond that you will have to be much more specific.

  • I can't upgrade from IOS 6.0.1 to IOS 7.1.1. iPad says it has downloaded IOS 7.0.3 but cannot verify the installation. Cannot restore or update in iTunes either. Help please?

    I can't upgrade from IOS 6.0.1 to IOS 7.1.1 on my iPad 2. iPad says it has downloaded IOS 7.0.3 but cannot verify the installation if I try and install it. It claims that I have lost internet connection, which I have not. I cannot restore or update the iPad in iTunes either, if I try to, I get an error message which says that I 'do not have permission to access the requested resource'. I am using the latest version of iTunes on Windows 8. I have tried putting the iPad in recovery mode and restoring it with iTunes, the result is the same.
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

    @Rudegar
    Thanks for the reply, but I've been having this problem for well over a week. If it is a corrupt download, is there some way of deleting it from the iPad and getting a new one?
    Thanks

    iTunes doesn't yet provide support for Windows 8. Some can get it installed others not.

  • Middleware starts replicating before initial load

    Hi folks,
    currently i´m setting up the middleware to connect a live ERP with a fresh CRM. The initial load is not done yet, also a lot other configuration stuff. I noticed that at the time of registering the queues the middleware is connecting itself and listing first BDocs in SMW01. Mostly R3AD delta(!) material BDocs (which fail by mapping error currently) but also green ones like 'class message' or 'objcl_message' which seem to have dummy or real entries. This is a problem as i did not configure e.g. R3AC1 filters or number ranges yet.
    I thought delta load is triggered first after initial load. How can i stop the middleware before i finish the configuration stuff. If there is a 'switch off' (like deactivate a business adapter object in R3AC1) i guess i would have to switch it on again just before the initial load and then risking uncontrolable connection againg before i can execute R3AS. I mean if i would e.g. deregister the queues i could end my configuration but i would have to register the queues just before initial load and would again having no control about the start of the replication. Is that a problem for you? - How do you handle that issue usually if you set up a new CRM?
    Thanks

  • I've never run verify disk permissions before, but I finally have, and it says it's going to take an hour and 35 minutes to complete.

    Although it keeps actively finding problems with the disk, the progress bar hasn't changed for more than a half an hour, and it still says it's going to take an hour and 35 minutes. I'm starting to worry it will never be done! My laptop, a Macbook Pro, is pretty old - about five years, and I don't know if the fact that I've never run a verify disk permissions before has anything to do with it.
    The only non-greyed out option is to currently 'stop permission verify'.

    Just let it run, it probably won't take that long. Also you may benefit from reading Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions messages that you can safely ignore.

  • AIR installs BEFORE agreeing to License terms

    I downloaded a demo from Steam, and when I ran it, AIR's license screen came up.  I did not like the terms, and hit "quit" but the program had already been installed on my hard drive.  No problem to uninstall, I just feel that was a bit over zealous on the part of Adobe to get their platform on my machine.  If I'd not had Secunia monitoring, I'd not have noticed it was there.
    Bad, Adobe. Bad.  Go sit in the corner.  No soup for you.
    So, Chris, how can we let the suits know I'm not happy about this?  Seems like a maze to actually get an e-mail address from the Adobe web site to contact the mother ship.

    That's interesting, I haven't seen that before.  In my experience, hitting "Cancel" to the EULA dialog quits the installer before copying any bits to the hard drive.  However, it's possible that you encountered a custom installer that had silently installed AIR (and used the optional flag to bypassing the EULA.)  In that case, we won't display the EULA dialog until the first time you launch the application which would mean that AIR was installed.  Does that sound about right?
    What Steam demo were you trying when you found this?  I'd like to take a look.
    Thanks,
    Chris
