With the newly released Verizon Access Manager 7.7.1.0 (2707e) there is a significant computer focus problem with it.
What I mean by this is that if I am using ANY application on my computer with the Verizon Access Manager minimized to the Windows System Tray, something will go on with the Verizon Access Manager and it steals the window focus - I am unable to work in the other application unless I click on the application to use it again.
An example of this would be my typing to post a message in this forum. Something occurs in the Verizon Access Manager and my typing is rendered useless unless I click with my mouse on the browser window to be able to use it again.
I'm highly suspecting whenever networks are coming and going in the Access Manager is when the problem occurs.
This problem did not exist in the previous version of the Access Manager I was using.
This is extremely annoying - please issue a fix for this ASAP!I have found by not minimzing the Verizon Access Manager 7.7.1.0 (2707e) the focus problem does not occur - it appears to be a problem when the app is minimzed to the system tray.

How To Install Verizon Access Manager If It Fails Installation
If you're unable to install the Verizon Access Manager on your PC the program will work just fine without installing it!
I performed the following on two different Windows XP SP3 machines and the Verizon Access Managers work fine on both.
1. Download the version 7.6.0.0 Verizon Access Manager folders and files in zip format from:
http://www.4shared.com/file/b7Bz3vYw/Verizon_Wireless.html
2. Extract the zip file.
3. Copy the extracted folder and it's contents to your Program Files (i.e. c:/program files/Verizon)
4. Then go to: C:\Program Files\Verizon Wireless\VZAccess Manager and double-click on VZAccess Manager.exe
The program should open.
You can create a shortcut for VZAccess Manager.exe by right-clicking on it and put it anywhere for easy convenience.
Cheers!Uninstalled Creative Cloud.
Downloaded it again - 4th time.
Deleted a AAMDetect file from the Library/Internet Plug-ins
Downloaded and installed Adobe App Manager and an icon for it is on my Desktop
Installed Creative Cloud.
OK.
Now how do get my Photoshop CS6 back before I download Photoshop CC?
CS6 is not listed in the available Apps in the CC Desktop.
Support wait time right now is 2 hours by phone.
After sitting on Chat yesterday only to see the people "waiting ahead of me" go from 17 to 18, I gave up.
Please advise.
Thanks again. -
HP Device Access Manager Crashes everytime I open it
I have a brand new 2 days old zbook 17 G2 (k4k44ut#ABA). After having it less than 24 hrs, the system completely crashed, and would not even boot. I used the F11 recovery, and brought the laptop back to factory defaults.
I thought I'd see if "the HP Device Access Manager" was not allowing access to the drive, and when I go into the HP Client Security, and click on "Device Access Manager" it crashes the tool and closes it:
Also, I'm a bit paranoid about the stability of this $2800 new laptop ($3300 with carepak).. so I am trying to back it up with a clickfree C2.. which the HP doesn't appear to let it access. Also, the laptop does't even recognize it as USB 3.0, which the clickfree is... (weird).
I moved from an "also expensive" HP nx9420 business laptop (actually had two nx9420s) to this one and I'm really worried about the zbook, as I've never experienced so much instability on a new laptop before.
I pondered completely removing the HP Device Access manager package.. but not sure of the impact..
Please help me in determining why this thing crashes though, when I open the device access manager.Disregard getting clickfree to work.. I was able to give it a 15min access... (although would like to extend this).
I just need to figure out why the Device Access Manager crashes now and if i can disable it. -
Verizon Access Manager 7.0.8 and 10.6.3 results in fatal error -43
I am trying to get a Verizon modem (UW190) working with my Macbook Pro and 10.6.3. Using 7.0.8 of VZAccess Manager. The modem is detected properly but when you try to activate vzaccess will immediately return a fatal error -43.
If you try to connect to the network, the modem will connect, establish a ppp session but then fail (timeout) when trying to pass configuration options.
Sometimes the VZA Manager will simply crash upon launch.
I confirmed the problem on two different MacBook's both running 10.6.3.
I installed the SAME software onto an iMac with 10.6 and with the same modem it worked fine. When that iMac was subsequently upgraded to 10.6.3, the same fatal error -43 occurred and you could no longer connect with the modem. Same issue on three 10.6.3 machines.
Verizon is NOW passing this information to their tech department. No resolution for now.Not really. I need to call Verizon and see what they say.
One user posted in the VZ forums that they were able to activate the modem on a windows box, and then subsequently it worked on their Mac.
In my case, I successfully activated the modem on an iMac running 10.6.0. and then was able to use the modem successfully on my 10.6.3 Macbook. Fixed? I don't think so. When I'm prompted to install and 'update' via the VZAccess Manager I instantly get the fatal error -43 thrown back at me. So far though, it continues to work.

MAC: Uml290 & vzw access manager, IPSec VPN connections don't work
So, my vpn connections work if I use my UML290 on windows using verizon access manager
I am now using the new verizon access manager on my mac, and my VPN connections do NOT work. It tries to connect then immediately stops the attempt at connecting and fails (i can access other websites etc OK, I have connectivity!)
This is a huge problem for meHello,
I have been having the same problems. When not connected to VPN, things work fine. When VPN connects, all traffic stops passing, even though there is a successful connection. When I disconnect VPN, all traffic resumes.
I have gone through this with technical support even to the point of doing a trace during the problem and they confirm that the traffic drops, but do not feel it is a network issue. This problem does not happen with any other network adapter I use (Wi-Fi, T-mobile 4G laptop stick).
I've put together links of articles I have found online describing this problem and probable cause - which I think is an IP address conflict in the 10.x.x.x space. No resolution has been offered to me. I hope these articles help others or if they are having the same experience they might post here.
http://delicious.com/stacks/view/SL8rGb - "Verizon LTE problems with VPN using Pantech UML 290" - Link Stack
If anyone comes across a resolution or knows if there will be an update of any kind to fix this, I would appreciate it, thank you. -
Veizon Fivespot VZ Access Manager HELP
So. I had a Windows XP Home with SP3, Sony Vaio Desktop. My Fivespot worked excellent. My computer crashed a couple days ago. I cleaned out the inside, and did a full System Recovery. Started it up and the computer would download the VZ Access Manager, but wouldn't download the ZTE Driver. When I open VZAM and click Detect Device both, Auto Detect, and USB Modem say the Device was not detected. I called Verizon they ran me through Turning it on and off, Unplugging/Plugging it in, Uninstalling/Reinstalling it, etc. Nothing worked and they said they don't know whats wrong with it. I asked if it's because I no longer have the Service Packs from doing the Recovery. They said I should try and get that.
I went to my dad's and hooked it up to the cable modem. Downloaded all the updates I had til the day my computer crashed. All the programs and pretty much everything works fine. (I think I just had so much dust and gunk everywhere in the system covering the fans, so it probably overheated, couldn't have been a Virus, I have the best Antivirus, AntiSpyware, and anti Malware scanners.) Tried installing it again. It downloaded the ZTE Driver. I open it up and it's still saying The device wasn't detected! It doesn't even show the WiFi router my dad had sitting right in the next room, and I even entered in his IP, Subnet, and Gateway info in the wifi prefrences screen. I took it out and tried installing it onto my Dad's PC. I opened it up and it detects it, shows the WiFi locations, but then on his I couldn't connect with the VPN. Someone PLease HELP ME!! Should I just go to Verizon and try to trade it in (it's only a month old). or is this a problem anyone else had, or knows how to fix? THanksDoes your laptop see any USB devices any more?
Does your laptop see any WIFI devices any more?
Does your wireless nic show in device manager as working? -
Can't login System Access Manager and Delegated Administrator page
Hi.
Suddenly I can't log in System Access Manager & Delegated Administrator page. Yesterday,I could.
Do you help me?
thanks.k-m-i wrote:

Yesterday,I could.Given that you have provided nothing in the way of usable information to isolate the problem I can only suggest restarting your directory server (assuming it hasn't crashed) then restarting the web-container hosting Access Manager and see if that fixes the problem.
If not, you will have to look further into the web-server logs and the directory server logs to see why the problem is occurring.

Text Spam to VZW Access Manager - @ $.20 a pop
I was surprised when I booted up Access Manager today to find a "..Great Deal for Home Mortages.." and I just found out it cost me 20 cents to receive it. How that happened I don't know because I don't even know my Verizon USB modem number, much less given it out to anybody else.
Now this brings up several points:
1. Why isn't/can't a technically savvy company like Verizon screening out these obvious spams?
2. Why isn't blocking Text Messaging a do-it-yourself option in Access Manager itself?
3. Why aren't they answering their <BLANK> 'ing 800 922 0202 phone number! -the only way I've found on these forums to block text messaging. (maybe because everybody is now trying to do exactly what I'm trying to do?)
Note: re-posted from another topic. This website is amazingly frustrating trying to find the details of my own plan. To answer a few of my own points I must conclude it's deliberate on Verizon's part to keep us in the dark regarding one of the their income generators.
boilerplate: http://support.vzw.com/terms/products/messaging.html
OK; When I receive messages from Verizon they're listed as "A Free Message from Verizon". Not the case with spam. My account balance is keeping a count of my non-free messages -(haven't been billed yet)
Another "feature" offered is "Unlimited texting from mobile to mobile" - in other words from one Verizon number ONLY to another Verizon number. If we were truely unlimited this "feature" would be redundant.
Lastly we (broadband users) are offered paid upgrades for additional texting loads. Look over these plans:
https://ebillpay.verizonwireless.com/vzw/accountholder/services/viewFeatures.action
And a variety of complaints found with a simple search:
http://community.vzw.com/t5/Messaging-Text-Picture-IM-etc/20-cents-per-text-It-was-unlimited-texting-when-I-was-with/m-p/69409#M3474
http://community.vzw.com/t5/DROID-X-by-Motorola/Junk-SPAM-Text-Messages/m-p/401004#M19293
And most appropriatly where I got the "wrong" number:

"drm device registration failed" Verizon Media Manager android tablet
I get the error "drm device registration failed" using Verizon Media Manager on an android tablet. Any ideas?
Poodles wrote:
I get the error "drm device registration failed" using Verizon Media Manager on an android tablet. Any ideas? You get this error if the device is "rooted" (meaing you have full root access). There is an app in the Google Play Store that will temporarily allow you to un-root the device, and when done the registration will work. I use OTA RootKeeper to temporarily un-root and then re-root. The device must be un-rooted each time you attempt to use the Verizon Medai Manager app to view content. -
Very Urgent: Sun Access Manager 7.1 SSO with Domino 6.5.4
Hi,
I am facing some perplexing issue while making SSO work on Domino ( running on Win2k3 )using Sun AM 7.1( running on the same machine ).
After following all the steps outlined in the policy agent 2.2 guide, I am not being able to access 'names.nsf' in the browser. The Domino Server is getting crashed.
The log which I get in 'amagent' says :
2007-05-31 00:31:11.906 Error 4136:7b42aa8 PolicyAgent: render_response(): Entered.
2007-05-31 00:32:01.109 Error 4136:7b43210 PolicyEngine: am_policy_evaluate: InternalException in AuthService::create_auth_context() with error message:Error sending request for authentication context from server. and code:16
What do I need to do inorder to make it work.
I also have some questions regarding the agent. The doc says that the name of the DSAPI filter is "libamdomino6.dll". whereas in the agent which i downloaded from SUN, i only see "amdomino6.dll" & "amdomino.dll". Are the dlls correct. Which one should I use?
Also i have set the values in properties file as :
com.sun.am.policy.am.username =testAgent
com.sun.am.policy.am.password =LYnKyOIgdWt404ivWY6HPQ==
after creating an Agent under Subjects under the main realm. Have also put the crypted password.
Moreover, Now if i remove the DSAPI filter value, then the domino server is no longer protected. And i can access any url on the server.
If you have any idea as to how to make this work, please let me know asap.
Thanks & Regards,
NirajHi,
I installed opensso (so Sun Java(TM) System Access Manager 7.5) and the agent for Domino 6.5.4 and I have the message in logs "amAgent"
2007-07-11 18:40:16.119 Error 1708:3dbcf768 PolicyAgent: render_response(): Entered.
I have the box to identify but it doesnot connect me on my opensso server.
It still identify with Domino's server
Thanks for your response

I have the following problem:
I loaded some images to my repository. I unloaded the repository and added an 'Image' field to the main table of the repository. Then I loaded the repository, entered it with the Data Manager and related some records to my images. Now, every time I try to access the 'Images' table of my repository, the Data Manager crashes to desktop.
I checked the repository, no errors. I unloaded and loaded it, same result.
Has anyone experienced something like this before?
Best regards,
Jörg ThiesmannHi Ingo,
This problem seems particularly due to the inconsistency in your data model due to addition and deletion of fields.
When such changes are made in the repository and the repository is not updtaed with the changes then there is an inconsistency due to which the mDM clients like the Data manger crashes.
Try these out:
- Unmount and mount your server, then unload and then load your repository with indices this might updtae the new changes.
- Try to verify and repair the rep if any errors exists.
- if nothing of these works then take a backup of your lookup data and reuse the schema to create a new rep and see if it is possible to delete the validations there.
Hope It Helped
Kindly Reward Points If Found Useful
Thanks & Regards

Trouble installing vz access manager on a gateway nv5207 windows 7 64-bit operating system
I am having trouble installing vz access manager on a gateway nv5207 windows 7 64-bit operating system. It will load the windows generic broadband drivers and the verizon wireless fimware updates and then it will do a search for previous versions of vz manager and it will just stay stuck on that part of the installation. I had cricket wireless broadband on here and uninstalled it and installed vz manager and it worked for a minuet, but it start acting up again. So from that point I uninstalled everything and tried to reinstall everything with the same problem.. Even after I cleaned up the registry....thanks in advance for anyone that can help me out.

Recently every time I try and open FIOS Media Manager, it launches, the FIOS "thinking" icon is moving and then it crashes. I called Verizon and they have no idea what's going on. I noticed on their boards a couple of Mac users have experienced the same issue. I attached the text that comes up when I generate a report. Thanks.
