Verizon can't refund my payment?

I made a payment last night and then realized it's not even due until the end of the month- My fault. So I called customer service right after I made the payment. They said they cannot refund it or cancel it and my bank would have to. This morning I called my friend who works at the bank and she told me Verizon needed to refund me because the took the payment and even double checked with the department that takes care of the debit cards (since I used my debit card). So then I called a Verizon store and they once again told me the bank had to deal with it So I told her I already spoke to the bank and the said it was Verizon's problem So then she was very rude and says well I don't know what to tell you and I said well I guess ill have to go to the bank. I went to the bank and once again they told me they couldn't do anything it was up to Verizon unless I wanted to dispute it which would cost me $25 and they suggested I go to the Verizon store and speak with a manager. So I did. I got there and they checked me in and they directed me to a woman. I started explaining the story and she interrupts me and says I talked to you on the phone and told you there's nothing we can do. I said well I was just at the bank and they said it's Verizon's problem. She's called a manger over and said This is the phone call I told you about earlier and I told her there's nothing we can do. So the manager says we can call a number and we can speak to someone about refunding you. So they hand me the phone and I'm speaking to someone and she's says "they're not going to give you your money back". Needless to say the man on the phone and the manager were very nice and I'll be getting my money back in the next 5 days . Why couldn't they have just done this in the first place?! I was So mad that I had to go back and forth all day and all they had to do was call a number. I will be calling and making a complaint tomorrow cause this was ridiculous.

I am sorry to hear that the customer service left much to be desired. As for the payment issue, one thing to keep in mind would be that the VZW Treasury department, which is the department that would investigate and potentially return all payments that had some issue, will only reverse a payment that is made if there is an error on the side of VZW; this means that double payments through the ivr or website after or before an automatic payment goes through and payments that were larger than originally intended would be ineligible for reversal. The banking institution does have a means to reverse withdrawals out of your account; if they do not, then it is time to consider banking with a different institution that will protect you adequately (comes from my many years working with a large banking institution). All in all, though, I am almost certain that the rep would have provided this advice to you, but always make sure you are seriously ready to commit to the payment before you make it.

  • My old bank account that is now closed is still setup as my Verizon ebill account, now i'm locked from ever receiving ebills again. Verizon can't change it, my old bank doesn't care because i'm no longer an account holder. What can i do?

    In 2013 I canceled my old bank account and transfered everything over to a new account. I've never been able to get ebills through my new account. I called Verizon as per the message on the site. Rep says I cannot sign up for ebills/automatic bill payments because i'm already signed up... Here's the thing though. I'm not. I used to be under my old bank account. Verizon points to my Bank. I call my bank and they point to verizon and say they've canceled everything... I call verizon back... and they point to my bank again... back and forth... So it appears that I will never again have the feature for automatic bill pay since their core team refuses to reset/override the existing settings. Is there any solution to this problem?

    This has me confused? Ebill will always occur that is not the same as the payment account. Do you have automatic bill pay as well?
    If you go on to your my Verizon web portal and log in, under bill pay you can add the new payment card or bank account as a NEW payer account.
    When I pay my invoice I sometimes alternate between cards, so I have both entered into the Verizon payment system. These accounts can also be edited if need be since sometimes your expiration date has to be changed, or your number on the account has to be changed. It is a real easy fix.
    There is a big difference from paperless billing and automatic bill paying. One you view the invoice the other is an automated payment feature.

    For the last week i have been trying to purchase my 10GB plan like i do every month but instead of going to the payment page it says please try again or contact costumer support well i have call multiple times and spent probably 3 hours total on hold waiting to talk to someone and this is getting ridiculous

    This is really ridiculous....I called the number from the error page and have been on hold for the past 1hr...still on hold...sweet lady is saying...i can pay bill online too
    Wish Verizon can also bear this long when the bill is not paid .

  • Skype keeps refunding my payments

    I have tried everything I know to get a skype yearly plan and no matter what, skype keeps rejectng me (refunds my payment to eithe paypal or my credit card.
    I tried making a new account with a current address; no help.
    I removed the skype cookies; no help
    The only screen I can get is to add skype credit and I haven't tried that because I don't want it.
    I also signed up for a skype phone number and that was refunded.
    There is no such thing as customer service directly to skype as far as I can find in the last THREE HOURS.
    **bleep** thing is they are the only game in town.

    If "Premium" the only option is monthly.

    Are you aware of any problem with a previous purchase ?     If you go into the payment details section on your account then does it say anything about your card being declined or not accepter or if the security code needs re-entering ?

    After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains helpful advice concerning Family Sharing payments. There can be only one payment method which is associated with the family organizer:
    Setting up Family Sharing
    When you set up Family Sharing, you'll be asked to confirm that you agree to pay for purchases initiated by the family members you invite and that you have a valid payment method on file. Valid payment methods for setting up Family Sharing include credit cards and debit cards. You can change the billing method on file in your account at any time in your iTunes & App Store account settings.
    Making purchases
    After you set up your family, any time a family member initiates a new purchase it will be billed directly to your account unless that family member has gift or store credit. First, their store credit will be used to pay the partial or total bill. The remainder will bill to the family organizer. As the family organizer, any receipts generated by the transaction will be sent to you. Learn more about how iTunes Store purchases are billed.
    Once paid for, a purchased item is added to the account of the family member who initiated the purchase. In other words, the content belongs to them, much as it would if you were buying them a book or a DVD. If Family Sharing is ever disabled, each member will keep the purchases they initiated, even though they were paid for by the family organizer.

    you can't add a payment means, but you can book the new payment means as an additional creditcard name for example "coupons"

    We have analyzed the payment method supplement field. We have entered a value in the invoice and on processing of F110, this is not flowing into the payment document. So, the validation that we wrote is also not checked. Is there a way to ensure that the payment method supplement field flows into the payment docment or we should write an exit in the validation in order to check the same.
