As for the new OS once it's updated there is no going back to the Previous but as for the app you installed yes you can uninstall it find your settings then apps > go to Downloaded or Downloaded Apps then scroll to the app in Question open that app you have three things you can do Clear the Cache, clear the Data on the App or Uninstall the App. once you perform the task hit home and then i'd power cycle the Phone..
One other thing you can try first and it might help the phone is to do a Clearing of the System Cache it basically clears all of you caches in one Sweep..

  • Windows Updates constantly failing and reverting after SCCM 2012 R2 pushes out updates

    Hi folks,
I wonder could anyone help me with a strange problem I am having!
We use SCCM 2012 R2 and I am trying to roll out updates to a Windows 2008 R2 Standard 64 bit server.
When I deploy the updates to the server they get to the server and install but during the reboot it says Windows Modules Installer for a while then shows the failure configuring Windows Updates, reverting changes screen.
I’ve tried the suggestions of disabling 'Windows Management Instrumentation' and 'Windows Modules Installer' and renaming the repository folder but still no joy.
If I use Windows Update to install the updates the updates do go on but then when I add it to the collection in SCCM to push out the patches it sees the server as if the updates aren’t installed and begins doing the installs.
After the patches installs using SCCM and when the server is rebooted it goes back into the loop of saying Windows Modules Installer and reverts the updates and strips out the patches again.
I was hoping that when the Windows Updates were installed via Windows Update and once I put the server into the collection to push out the updates to the server it would have shown that the updates are already installed on the server and show that server
as being compliant in SCCM but unfortunately that isn’t happening.
It sights a couple of errors in the Setup event logs on the offending server: -
For multiple patches - Package KBXXXXXXX failed to be changed to the Installed state. Status: 0x80070643
For multiple patches - Initiating changes for package KBXXXXXXX. Current state is Invalid Resolved. Target state is Installed. Client id: WindowsUpdateAgent.
    After doing some research,
0x80070643 refers to a .Net Framework issue so I’ve ran a .Net Repair tool but that didn’t work either so I’m running out of ideas so any help would be greatly appreciated on how I can get this sever updated using SCCM and showing as compliant.
    Thanks,
    Bonemister

    Hi Torsten,
    Thanks for your reply!
I was afraid you were going to say that as it just doesn't make sense that when I install the update using Windows Update via the Ire-nternet and when the install and re-scan no updates are required.  It is only when I ask SCCM to check for patches
that it sees updates are missing and installed the updates before the OS reverts when.
Is there a way in SCCM to remove the record of what patches have been installed onto a particular server?  I tried deleted the server out of SCCM then applying the Windows Updates via the web then added the server back into SCCM and see did it pick
up the newly installed updates on the server.
The thing is I don't think that WindowsUpdate.log will show any failures as Windows update is showing as no more updates required.  It is just when SCCM installs that patches that the problem happens so that is what is leading me to think it is an SCCM
    problem.
My main goal is to get the updates into the server and for it so show as complient!
I'll check back through the even logs again.  Are they any SCCM logs that show patches failing to install and why?
    Thanks again,
    Bonemister

  • Is there a way to push out updates to a textbook without actually publishing the textbook to I Tunes Bookstore?

I want to make a textbook for a small class.  I do not need to go through the whole process of submitting it to I Tunes.  I just put the book on my server and download it to my I pad.  Is there a way that I can push updates to my book via this method.

The reason I am trying to work this out is because we are excited about trying to write our own textbooks at school and save the district some $$.  However, we are not sure that we want the books put up on I tunes for all to use, that is why I was trying to find a way around this.  Maybe I am going about this all wrong, is there a way to limit who would have access to download a book.  Then that would solve my version problem and keep the books only in the district.  I know you can limit by region, but the United States is a rather large region.  I would like to narrow down that a little.

  • Software update scan cycle not pushed out to new clients

I have a very odd problem that I'm not fully understanding why it is happening.  I have my SCCM server pushing out updates to my clients and it works just fine.  The issue happens when I push out SCCM to a new client.  Heres what happens as
far as updates go when I push SCCM out to a new client:
    -Push out SCCM to client
-Client suddenly starts looking to Microsoft for Windows Updates
The only way I can get it to change its policy to look to my WSUS/SCCM server is to manually run the "Software updates scan cycle" job on the client.  As soon as I do that then the clients Updates show it is manged by the systems admin, which
    is what I want.
My question is why is this policy not pushed out by default as soon as I push out a new client?  I shouldn't have to wait 7 days for the client to look back at the software policy before it updates because by then its already downloaded 100 new updates
from Microsoft, which I don't want.  Does anyone else know how to fix this?  Hopefully it all makes sense.

Yeah I tried to build my own custom client settings package and push it out with the client, but it still didn't change anything.  I can get on the client before I push out the SCCM client to it and look at gpedit.msc and go to Comp Config > Admin
Temp > Windows Components > Windows Update > and it shows all fields are set to "Not Configured."  Once I push the SCCM client to the client I can go back to that same location and check and all the fields are still set to "Not
configured."  But when I manually go into that clients control panel and select Configuration manager > Actions tab > Software updates scan cycle > Run now, I can then go back into the gpedit and under windows Update the Specify intranet
Microsoft update service location will then have the FQDN of my SCCM/WSUS server in there so it works then, but for some reason its not doing that part automatically.

  • Push out Flash Player updates?

I support a corporate network where all computers are connected to the Internet. On a weekly basis I see news of Flash Player vulnerabilities. I like to keep my systems as up-to-date as possible because we all know how end-users are... "click first, ask questions later". As wide-spread as the use of Flash content has become, I would think Adobe could come up with an easier way to update many computers with the most current version rather than visit each one and manually install the patches. Sure, the Adobe Updater works great... if every user has Administrator priviledges on their machines. But I, for one, would rather not unleash that beast onto my network.
I'd like to know how Adobe recommends fixing its flaws throughout a network environment as well as how some of you out there tackle this dilemma. Thanks for any input or suggestions you may have.

I updated as soon as the user got the message that Flash needed updating. I can't remember the exact dates, but it has been, no kidding, three times in the last two weeks. When I imaged the machines this past summer, I specifically told Flash to update automatically when I created the initial image. All to no avail.
When I subsequently had to update the laptops, again, when given the choice (and it was not consistent across all the laptops), I selected the option to "auto-update" the player. In every single case, I still had to update the laptops manually. I can tell you it's getting to the point that, I swear, if there is another update within the next week or so, I am going to tell faculty I will no longer support Flash and that they need to stop using websites that use Flash. We can't use Flash sites anyhow on our iPods or our iPads, might as well extend that ban to the laptops as well.
This is just inexcusable behavior from Adobe (an otherwise, fine company, it's as if Flash is made by a completely different company) to disable the ability to use Flash until it's updated.
I have read recently that Apple is disabling the ability to run JAVA until it's patched and I can understand that. After all, JAVA was supposed to be a security language - something about a "sandbox"??
If there was a way to push out updates across the network, that would be acceptable (in fact, I CAN do that with JAVA), but there is, evidently NO WAY to do that with Flash and Adobe tech support (and I use the term loosely) has NO CLUE what I'm even talking about when I call for help with this.
BTW, I should point out we are an ALL APPLE shop - I have ONE Windows laptop in the event of a Zombie Apocalypse. The "solutions" I've seen seem to apply only to a Windows shop.

  • Verizon sent out an order I called to cancel, I returned the phones as they told me to, yet after months of calls, I am in the pre-collections stage

So this journey started back in October. I was with sprint, and wanted out of their service, my contract was up, so I went with Verizon as they are the best in my area for service. My original order was for 2 iPhone 6's and an iPhone 5s. Upon finding out that I would only receive a $200 credit for my old iPhones if I bought only iPhone 6's, I called to cancel that order. Due to the fact the iPhone 6's were backordered they could not cancel my order, but they stated they would make notation on my account so that the order wouldn't ship. So, I then placed a new order for three iPhone 6's to qualify for the promotion. The beginning of November I received three boxes, and too my surprise, it was the first (original) order containing two iPhone 6's and an iPhone 5s. I called Verizon, and they said just send them back, don't open them. I was told there were return labels in the boxes, and there were not. So I then called the local Verizon store to see if I could return them there, they said, no it was an online order, so you have to send them back in. I then went to the website to print return labels, but both links where this was supposedly possible, the links did not work, dead links. At this point I called Verizon back who made a call on my behalf to the Verizon Store to return the phones there. I drove to the store, and when I got there, they suggested I just return the iPhone 5, as they had a 6 in stock, activate these phones, and cancel the second order, so I did. I then called and cancelled the second order, with the same issue, phones were backordered, so notation would be made to the account. Low and behold, 2 weeks later, 3 new iPhone 6's showed up at my door. So I went through the process again, calling customer service, canceling the service and having Verizon send me return labels for the phones. Five days later the return labels showed up, and I immediately returned the phones. I was told as soon as the phones were scanned by Fedex that a $635.97 refund would be issued to my card ( thats right two charges totaling almost $1300). Well that was not the case, It took a few weeks, but the refund was finally issued. Here's were the bigger problems begin, I received my first bill for those lines of service. I called Verizon as I thought this was odd, as the phones had never been out of the box or activated. So, phone call after phone call, Customer Service Rep after Customer Service Rep, I was told that the lines are now cancelled and you will be credited. Well a month goes by, and we are at the end of November, and I get a bill for over $500 dollars. I then call customer service again, tell them my story, stay on the line with patience waiting for the answer, and I am told again things are resolved. November 30th roles around, and I get another bill stating that my lines are disconnected due to non-payment. I call, and spend 52 minutes on the phone with a Customer Service Rep who tells me that everything is all set, he gives me the totals that are to be credited to my account, and I assume everything is well, as I receive no more letters or bills. Well flash forward to January 20, 2015, and I receive a call from an odd number, which turns out is a collection agency for Verizon, as my account is in pre-collections. Can you imagine my frustration, to be honest I am quite upset, so I again call customer service and get pushed to an account specialist. I relay my story, for and I am not joking, the 12th time, at which point I am informed that he cannot help me as the account is closed, and I will have to wait until 7am tomorrow morning to call back and speak with another account specialist. I am so frustrated with this entire situation, keep in mind I still have three active lines with Verizon that have been paid early every month since October. My real question is how many more times am I going to have to call to get this resolved? I have tried more than a dozen times to get this issue fixed, and here I am three months later still fighting this, it is just plain ridiculous and terrible business. How can you charge a customer for phones that he doesn't even have, thats right, I was issued a $635.97 refund on 11/13/2014, so how can I be charged for phones that were returned, and never taken out of the box. Also, how are they magically activated when they are still sealed in their original boxes. Needless to say I will continue to fight this issue, but rest assured, if this issue is not resolved tomorrow morning, I will be seeking legal counsel to fight these charges, as I do not want Verizon's poor customer service to harm my credit score that I have worked so hard to build to what it is now.
Where is the help Verizon, because as of now, it is non existent.

Thanks for the additional information AudiophileBen! Time is of the essence when it comes to special promotions. When did you process this purchase? If the promotion was not available when you purchased, then you are not eligible for it. I recommend visiting the store with your receipts showing your $100 discount if you purchased after the promotion started.

  • Error U44M1I210 - None of the NEW Mac's can install the latest updates Adobe CC is pushing out.

    Here is the problem:
I have 3 new Macs (iMac, MacBookPro, Mac Pro trash can)
All 3 do have adobe CC installed with programs working at the moment.
However with the most recent updates to Premiere, AE, Photoshop and Media Encoder that Adobe CC is pushing out, none of the computers can update to them.
    Receiving Error code U44M1I210
    Here is a system spec:
    For the Mac Pro, OSX 10.9.3 - 64GB Ram - 2.7GHz 12-core Xeon E5
    What I have tried:
I have tried to do the updates from work, over wireless, and wired.
    From Home wireless.
    And from a Hotel wireless.
Older MacPros running CC but limited to CS6 Apps only, DO update over the same network as the Mac's that can not.
    Strange? yes!
Why I think Adobe has made some type of coding mistake with New Apple Products:
All 3 computers could not install these recent updates, but could install CC originally (about a month prior to the updates), and made made other small updates prior to this as well.
The various locations I have tried to connect from have all failed, so I doubt it is a firewall issue.
Adobe's Help line, had took control of my Mac Pro for about 2 hrs and could not figure out why it would not update.
    They uninstalled, reinstalled, the works...
The issues has now been in limbo for a week.
Will I ever be able to make an update to CC on any of my machines?
Since we are paying a lot of money for Adobe's services, and have paid a lot of money for these new computers, that is my question.
    Thanks

    Thanks Jeff,
However when the Adobe tech support person took control of my Mac Pro, this was one of the processes they tried that failed to produce results.
They reviewed the log files as well.
The downloads would fail after they reached 50%.
What does seem to be working for me, at least for Premiere and Media Encoder is manually installing the updates from this site:
All Adobe CC 2014 Updates: The Direct Download Links for Mac OS | ProDesignTools

  • Pushing out Software Updates

    Hello All,
I am currently configuring a Mac Server with Tiger as a Software Update Server. I am hoping to push the updates out to computer lists rather then user lists. I have the computer lists setup, however I'm not really sure how to send out the updates? Any ideas, I have looked over the server manuals and can not find an answer.
    Thanks!
    Vince

No.  However, you can get creative.  Most, if not all, apps distributed from the App store are single bundle binaries.  This means that all the files needed for the app are in the app bundle.  This also means that packaging and redistributing the apps is really easy.  Take this as an example.
1:  You have 3 machines.  You have purchased an app from the App store on the master system or you have updated a previously purchased app on the master system
2:  Using Apple Remote Desktop or other tools, you can push the app bundle from the master machine out to the other machines
3:  By doing so, you can eliminate the need to have an Apple ID on all the machines and avoid doing individual downloads.
Now, this stretches the boundaries of license compliance.  However, I've had Apple SEs tell me to buy once and distribute many.  If these are home systems, I would imagine you are ok doing this.  If this is business machines, you probably should buy individual copies.

Is it true that Apple is now pushing out iOS 7 updates to devices automatically and without a users’ permission?

Some people say that it has downloaded automatically when their phone is plugged in and connected to Wi-Fi, but I have left my phone and other iOS devices plugged in overnight several times since the iOS 7 release and have not experienced the same.

    No such message occurs.
Are you trying to state that it says "Unable to activate"?
If so, this typically indicates the device has been hacked or jailbroken.  If that is the case, no support can be provided via these forums.

  • I just got 2 new iphone 4 (verizon) i have a issue, i have 2 itunes account 2 phone seperate names and emails. but when i update or sync my phone it copys my wife stuff on to my phone and vice versa.

    hello
    i need some help.
well you see up above where i have 2 iphone 2 different names for the phones and 2 different accounts with 1 itunes on widows 7.
my problem is when i update or sync my phone it grabs all her info and apps ect. and vice versa when she does it to. is there any way that i can stop this from happing again?
1 more thing this happens just on her phone when she goes to download a app for some reason my email is on her phone, we have to sign out from her phone and sign back in and put her email in any thoughts on this?

By far the simplest way to do this is create separate accounts on the computer for each person.  That way, you each log into your own separate account, sync your own device(s) to your own contacts/calendars/apps/music and so forth.

  • Active Directory Admins--Push out Windows updates?

Is it possible to push out iTunes updates to WindowsXP users? With a few exceptions the users on our network do not have admin rights and cannot install software and it is a pain to have to go to each computer to install updates. Is there a way to create WindowsXP packages to push out via Group Policy?
With our Mac users this is a breeze using Apple Remote Desktop.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe that it's possible to push out OS or application updates just via a Group Policy in AD. At least in every place I've worked, we've needed to run other software such as Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager or LANDesk to handle pushing updates. You might be able to set a Group Policy to force Apple Software Update to run, but if so I haven't yet found a way; I can find ways to block ASU but not to force it.
You may need to take this question up on a Windows-oriented discussions forum, though, for more discussion and options.
    Regards.
