Version of Apache Oracle 9.0.3

How do I tell which version of Apache oracle 9.0.3 app server is. Configuration seems to change if between apache 1.3 and apache 2.0, and I need to be sure I am reading the right documentation.

If your running on a Unix box you can execute the following from Apache/bin to find out : httpd -v

  • AIX 4.3.2, apache, oracle 8.1.5.  Will it work?

    Hi,
Within the next couple days we will decide what app server to put on our
IBM RS/6000 hardware in a multi-node configuration. It will likely be
WebLogic or WebSphere. I'm confident that apache, oracle 8.1.5, and
    websphere 3.0.2 will work.
Would weblogic 4.5.1 work as well?
I downloaded the NT demo and was impressed. I also like the BEA web
site and the fact that there is a lot of documentation on WebLogic
(Including newsgroups. IBM doesn't have that).
The documentation I found only said Oracle 7.3 is tested. The Apache
plug-in for AIX wasn't mentioned either.)
The features of weblogic and websphere see very similar. Both support
EJB 1.0. Any idea when EJB 1.1 will be supported in WL?
WS seems to have more support for XML. Am I missing something with
BEA's product with regard to XML support? It would be nice to create
XML/XSL documents and process them to output HTML for either palm
    devices or PC Browsers.
BEA's t3 protocol is interesting in the fact that it looks really easy
to create non-web client apps that access the web server.
    I realize I'll be running with IBM's JDK 1.1.8. I suppose this means I
can't use a JDBC 2.0 compliant driver? Standardized connection pooling
and BLOBs are the only thing of real interest. Not a huge issue if it
    JDBC 2.0 isn't supported.
Two final things from my brain dump are personalization and
multi-language support. WS supports multi-language. Does WL?
As for personalization, WS has a commerce package that includes
personalization, but it is in C++. WL has a personalization engine
that is part of the commerce server. The documentation I found says the
commerce server only runs on NT and Solaris 2.6. Will it run on AIX
    4.3?
Anything I should be concerned about? If WL doesn't run on AIX 4.3
with Oracle 8.1.5, and Apache, WS will be the choice.
If you reply to this post, please e-mail me as well.

There is not an AIX plug-in for Apache yet. We plan on building one as our
    porting effort continues.
We support later versions of Oracle in 5.1. Or, you can use the type 4
driver from Oracle against it. That driver is free.
The features of weblogic and websphere see very similar. Both support
EJB 1.0. Any idea when EJB 1.1 will be supported in WL?
Yes! Weblogic Server 5.1 supports EJB 1.1.
WS seems to have more support for XML. Am I missing something with

Currently, we do not have an XSL processor built into Weblogic. But, it
should be the relatively easy to build in one. Also, you should check out
the XML functionality in version 5.1.
BEA's t3 protocol is interesting in the fact that it looks really easy

the product, so I would recommend speaking with either someone on the
commerce newsgroup or contacting your account manager.

  • How do I determine what version of Apache I'm using?

How do I determine what version of Apache, 1.3 or 2.0, I'm using?

If you're using the stock Apache, it's 1.3 on regular OS X. I think it's Apache 2 on OS X Server, but I'm not certain.
If you're asking because you've installed Apache 2, but want to make sure it's the one that's running and not the stock Apache, one way to tell is to examine the headers it returns. This Terminal command will show your headers (just enter it and hit the "return" key):
    <pre class="command">curl -I http://localhost</pre>
    Here's what I get:
    <pre class="command">HTTP/1.1 200 OK

    Server: Apache/1.3.33 (Darwin) PHP/5.2.0 mod_perl/1.29

As you can see, I have the stock Apache, but I've installed PHP5.

  • Which sql developer version will support oracle 8.1.7

    hi
which sql developer version will support oracle 8.1.7 or is it necessary to use plsql developer to connect to database (oracle 8.1.7)

    Hi,
SQL Developer version 1.2.1 is able to connect to 8.1.7 with limited functionality (prepared reports and browser for objects could not work)..
Next version (tested with 3.2 64-bit) of SQL developer could be "hacked" to connect to 8.1.7 by simply copy file C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\jdbc\lib\classes12.zip from Oracle client prior 11
    into appropriate jdk\jre\lib\ext folder.

I have a problem with another vendor also include the
    javax.transaction
    package in their jar file.
When compiling, the one included in the weblogicaux.jar is picked upand
    our
extension to this thrid pary product fails because the UserTransaction
method signatures are different in weblogicaux.jar than the one thisthirty
    party expects.
I check the online doc in JDC and looks like our third party tool
    looks
    for
the correct signature for the JTA 1.0.1 --
while weblogic has an older(?) version of API?
    Here is the error:
    MySessionBean.java:0: The method void setTransactionTimeout(int)
    declared in class
    com.fame.timeiq.persistence.Connection cannot override the method
    of
    the
    same signature declared in interface
    javax.transaction.UserTransaction. Their throws clauses are
    incompatible.
    My question is:
    1. to work around the problem, we put the third party jar file infront
    of
the weblogic classes. Are there issues I should watch out for?
    2. What version of JTA is included in weblogic 4.5.1?
    3. Checking weblogicaux.jar, it includes both
    javax.jts.UserTransaction
    and
javax.transaction.UserTransaction. Where is the latter used?

  • How to run different versions of Apache Tomcat on one machine?

Hi, I am developing a web application. My application runs on Apache Tomcat 5.5.12 and i am using jdk 1.5_03. My application detects files that are automatically scanned to a specific directory and queues them for capture in a database.
The scanner software (HP Toolbox) is also a web application (Unfortunately), it installs itself with Apache Tomcat 4.03. It is "wired" in a specialised way (not the way you would usually deploy web apps). So the Web server is customised by HP (Hewlett-Packard).
The scanner needs this software running inorder to automatically scan to a specified folder. You can only specify local directories to scan to from the Toolbox application
There seems to be some resource conflict when I run my version of Tomcat when the Toolbox application is running (I get an exception
..IllegalMonitorState...current thread not owner). Visa vera is alos true..if i start my application first the Toolbox application won't run.
I tried to install the Toolbox app on another machine and monitor a directory remotely...this doesn't work because you can't read or write to remote files from a servlet or JSP.
I tried loading my application in the web apps directory of Apache 4.03 but it did not detect my application. I don't know how to configure the Tomcat customised by HP.
How can i go about this problem? Is there a way of running two versions of Apache Tomcat on one machine?
    Thanks
    Parthiv

This is the exception i get when i try to run my version of Apache Tomcat when the Toolbox is running: My application is set to port 80.

  • Multiple versions of Apache and PHP

I'm setting up a new Xserve with Apache2 and PHP5. I understand that Xserves ship with Apache2 and Apache 1.1 already installed and when I do
    httpd -v
it reports back the older version of Apache. When I do
    php -v
    it reports back version 4.4.1.
At the time I investigated this, I didn't know Apple had pre-installed Apache2 so I installed it via Fink and FinkCommander. When I installed it originallyl from the entropy.ch files, asking httpd for its version reported the older version even though the System Preference pane said that Apache2 was up and running. What is going on that both are running simultaneously?
After installing Apache2 via Fink, httpd now properly reports its version as 2.0.55... which is what I would expect after properly updating Apache from 1 to 2.
I'm experiencing something similar with my PHP5 installation via Fink. Asking terminal for php -v reports version 4.4.1, however when I query PHP through a web script running phpinfo() it reports back in the web browser as being version 5.0.4.
So, what triggers the command line to report back different versions of installed web services than other methods? Why does my webpage through phpinfo() report back 5.0.4 where terminal says php -v is 4.4.1? Does it even matter? Does this mean two copies of PHP are running? What turned on the old version? I thought PHP had to be triggered by a PHP request. Why does Apache2, when insttalled through one method still report the older version when queried through terminal, but installed a idffererent way report the new version? Why did that not seem to afffect the ability for Apache2 to run properly? What does the version, as reported through terminal, of a given web service even mean if multiple versions of web services can run simultaneously and multiple reports of those versions can return different results? For that matter, how can I then truly verify that the version running is the version I installed? It wasn't until terminal reported my version of httpd as being 2.0.55 until I felt like the Apache2 installation was truly successful. Was I overthinnking the problem? Is there even a problem? Aaaagghghgh!!!!!!
    17 Powerbook - 1.5Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   2GB RAM, Adobe CS2, Xcode 2.2

Ahhh!!!! OK, that makes a ton of sense. I checked the PATH environment variable and see what you're talking about.
This kind of leads to a follow up question . If I do a
    php -v
and I get back some information about some version of php installed at some path referenced in the environment variable, how can I tell what path OS X found the php command in? Is there any way to say, "Hey, computer, tell me where you think php is located." Because there are seven or eight paths I could search in, but it seems like a trivial matter for the computer to just tell me where it's looking, rather than me hunting for the command file.
It also seems that fink has installed /sw paths into my environment variable for me and that my apache httpd command is located in one of these but my new installation of php5 is not. That's really what was tripping me up was that I hadn't modified the environment variable for $PATH myself and some things were reporting properlly and others were not. Fink did most of the work I expected, but not all, leading to a confusing version report.

  • Disabling shipped version of Apache 1.3.3 in favor of latest Apache build

I want to disable the shipped version of Apache in favor of running the latest build. I downloaded and compiled the latest Apache build. I am able to run that build but the shipped version gets in the way as it is configured. IF I don't explicitly start the correct apachectl exec. the older shipped version will start.
    Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, I already did the compile and install for apache 2.2.4 last night. I had some confilcts intially that I circumvented by cp /private/ect/httpd/httpd.conf httpd.conf.bak. That eliminated the conf file directives. I considered running the shipped version on port 8090, but why run it at all if it is not used.
I can't be the only one wishing to disable the shipped version of Apache in favor of newer and full build. Because of that I thought there may be a simple and supported way to disable that version. I do aggree that any changes could cause a conflict with software updates.
BTW, Apache is configured to install in usr/local/apache2. The Apple dist is in usr/sbin. Anyhow, I plan on leaving it alone as it is working now and watching for software updates that casue problems.
    Thanks again,
