Version of Axis in webservices.jar

Does anyone know what version of Axis is supported by Flex 2?
Since the Axis stuff is "rebundled" in webservices.jar, it is
difficult to tell.

Please note that FDS, itself does not include a web services
engine. This functionality is provided by the application server.
For your convenience, FDS ships with an integrated version of JRun,
which does include the Axis Web Service Engine at c:/fds2/
/jrun4/lib/webservices.jar. Not that the integrated JRun is
licensed from development purposes only and is not licensed for
production.

    Hi Nag,
With little reference to Sir Walter Scott, it would be a very tangled
web we weave in an attempt to factor out the inter-relationships of
javax interfaces that are hindering your effort. All to say, we don't
currently support JSR 110 (javax.wsdl.*) and it is not on the near term
    horizon.
Have you considered using autotype [1]?

    Hi Nag,
With little reference to Sir Walter Scott, it would be a very tangled
web we weave in an attempt to factor out the inter-relationships of
javax interfaces that are hindering your effort. All to say, we don't
currently support JSR 110 (javax.wsdl.*) and it is not on the near term
    horizon.
Have you considered using autotype [1]?

  • Webservices.jar is missing from WL_HOME/server/lib in WLS 12c

webservices.jar is missing from WL_HOME/server/lib in WLS 12c. Was it replaced by a different jar or is this a new implementation i'm unfamiliar with? It does appear in all versions up to 11g.
Without it i won't be able to migrate my application to 12c from the older versions...

    hi,
In the 12.1.1 release, the 8.1 WebLogic Web services run time has been removed. So you will no longer see the webservices.jar file

  • Jrun's webservices.jar overwrite my xbean.jar (QName class ist too old!)

We deployed a war-file with a web service. The war file
includes the xbean.jar in the WEB-INF/lib directory. Within the
xbean.jar a version of class javax.xml.namespace.Qname exists with
    the constructor
    Qname(java.lang.String,java.lang.String,java.lang.String). Our web
service calls this a constructor and terminates with the exception:
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError:
    javax.xml.namespace.QName.<init>(Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/String
I suppose that the QName class is taken from the Jrun's
webservices.jar file. This one includes the Qname class without the
    needed constructor (3 string arguments).
How can I configure Jrun so that the xbean.jar's QName is
taken instead of the the webservices.jar's QName.
    Regards Andreas

    You can use the
    <load-system-classes-first>false</load-system-classes-first>
attribute in jrun-web.xml to override the classes shipped
    with JRun.

  • How to resolve setPrefix() in SOAP(saaj API) with weblogic/webservices jar?

    Hi,
I am facing a problem deploying a Web-Application in Weblogic containing SOAP related code.
    My environment is as below:
    1) Weblogic 8.1 SP2 server
    2) Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_04-b05)
    3) A method is exposed as web-service
    4) A client program(which is a part of Action class of Webb-app) written with SOAP APIs containing the following section:
         MessageFactory mf = MessageFactory.newInstance();
         SOAPMessage sm = mf.createMessage();
         SOAPPart sp = sm.getSOAPPart();
         sp.setPrefix("soapenv");
         SOAPEnvelope se = sp.getEnvelope();
         se.addNamespaceDeclaration("soapenv","http://orion:7001");
giving the following error at runtime:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.AbstractMethodError:
    weblogic.were.soap.SOAPEnvelopeImpl.setPrefix(Ljava/lang/String;)V
    at Client.main(Client.java:39)
I am able to compile without any error/warning all the time.
This is giving only when putting the saaj(jwsdp-1.4) jars along with weblogic/webservices jars in classpath.
I am able to run the same application(outside Web-application as a stand-alone java program) without
any error while not using weblogic/webservices jar in the classpath.
The saaj jars needed to run without any error are:
    saaj-api.jar
    saaj-impl.jar
    mailapi.jar
    activation.jar
    xercesImpl.jar
    xalan.jar
    dom.jar
    jdom.jar
I thinks this is a compatibility issue. Please suggest to resolve it.
    Thanks in advance,

  • JavaDoc for classes in sgd-webservices.jar

    Hi,
some time ago, there was some JavaDoc available for the classes in sgd-webservices.jar on docs.sun.com. Hasn't this been moved to the oracle servers? If it has, where can I find it? I'm searching espacially for these:
    http://docs.sun.com/source/820-4291/javadoc/com/tarantella/tta/webservices/client/views/SessionBean.html
    http://docs.sun.com/source/820-4291/javadoc/com/tarantella/tta/webservices/client/views/EventsView.html
    Thanks

Yes, thanks! I have seen this page some time ago already but didn't expected the JavaDoc to not be online available and thus findable through < insert favorite search engine here >. ;-)

  • Missing webservices jar files in 9.0.2

    Hi,
I am trying to deploy webserivces using stateless java class on oc4j version 9.0.2 but i do not have appropriate jar files. Only following jars are installed.
    %OC4J_INSTALL%\j2ee\home\WebServicesAssembler.jar
    %OC4J_INSTALL%\j2ee\home\WebServicesHtmlXmlWizard.jar
    %OC4J_INSTALL%\j2ee\home\wsdl2ejb.jar
    %OC4J_INSTALL%\soap\lib\wsdl.jar
    The environment is windows 2000.
How can I get appropriate jar files to enable webservices on my installation of oc4j version 9.0.2.0.1
    Thanks
    Salman

Could you elaborate on what you are missing? On a default OC4J install, downloadable here on OTN, everything is there ... I can point out what you need to locate but am not sure what you see missing or what error messages are leading you to not find classes.
For example, the soap.jar is normally in the <oc4j_home>\soap\lib\ directory. In the <oc4j_home>\lib and <oc4j_home>\jlib there are also other supporting jars.
    Thanks.
    Mike.

  • How to determine the JDK version required to use a jar?

    Hi all.
I am using a hosted server that uses JDK 1.4.2 and I cannot upgrade the VM. I have been finding it extremely difficult to install web applications on this server since I find that after installing the app, the web server complains the bytecode used in the jar is newer than the VM can understand (or it complains that the app uses JEE servlet or JSP methods it cannot find).
To compound the problem, only about 25% of the sites I've visited that provide jars for download mention the minumum JDK version required to use them. (Some do not mention any system requirements at all besides 'requires Java and a Java application server').
Do any of you know of any tools that can analyze a jar and determine the bytecode version it uses?
(Another helpful tool would be one that can determine the minimum JEE APIs required to run a web app..., but that's probably wishful thinking :)).
    Thanks for your help.

The major/minor version of the class file is the way to go.
Also, it's not necessary to write a separate program to get to those. javap prints them out when being passed the -v flag.
Note, however that "JDK version" is not a correct term, as I can create 1.4-compatible class files with a Java 6 JDK (by passing the -target flag to javac). Those won't look any different than .class files written with a 1.4 JDK.

  • Unsupported class version error trying to run jar file on windows machine

    Hi,
i've written a program that connects to an access database to get its data. Created a jar file with the class files, the access database and other required files.
works fine on my home windows computer but when i try to run it on another machine i get an error.
here's what i write on the cmd: java -Xmx128m -jar myFile.jar
    heres the error i get:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: StartUp(Unsupported major.minor version 49.0)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass0(Native Method)
    and so on.
It seems like it might be quite a basic error but i'm lost, can anyone please shed some light and tell me where i'm going wrong?
    cheers in advance

hey there, in case anyone was going to reply, i've worked it out now. couldn't work out what was wrong at first so just pulled out all my classes and put them into a brand new jar file. now use javaw -jar instead of java and it worked fine! wierd...

  • Axis based webservices

    Hi all,
We have several webservices for paypal, ebay etc. We have developed all these based on axis.
Now we have chnaged the server environment weblogic 11g.
When we deploy the builds on weblogic 11g which are working fine on OAS, they are not functioning properly and resulting in following error.
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/wsdl/OperationType at org.apache.axis.description.OperationDesc.(OperationDesc.java:59)
I request you to please suggest a way to work with axis webservices.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sunil

Can anyone help on this issue?
    Thanks,

  • Eclipse Axis and Webservices in SAP

    Hi !
Im trying to write a small Web Application that whold be able to call webServices.
I Created Web project in Eclipse and irts ok.
Now i add new WebService Client  to a project, define Axis as provider - supply WSDL URL from ES discovery site.
Eclipse generates me the client code but it has problems with reaching the parent classes :
    The constructor Object(Token) is undefined
The generated code looks as follows :
    http://phpfi.com/394080
the 2nd constructor is the problem.
The application is deployed on Glassfish V2.
Anyohe has some thoughts on what i did wrong ?

    Hello Jacek,
I would recommend downloading the SOAP UI java client which uses AXIS for importing WSDL files and try to execute the service from it?
It will help you much more in figuring out of what the issue might be because I use it by myself.
You may also try this SOAP client for testing:
    http://home.mindreef.com/
I hope, this will give you a idea of what the problem might be?
    Kind regards.

  • Putting unix utility visible version info into ear, war, jar files?

I would like to be able to use some unix utility (or java itself without a separate program) to display my version information for jar-like artifacts: ear, war, jar.
In other words, when I build one of these things, I'd like to put my SVN version, date, user name, and maybe some other stuff into it in a way that can be read without a custom program. This needs to be done as part of the ant build (without requiring a custom java program).
For example, one approach would be "strings | grep <special-string>" if I could put something, somewhere in the file that had this as 8-bit character encoding.
For jars, making the jar executable and having the main print it out works, but I don't think that's do-able for ears and wars, and it would be desirable to have a consistent approach.
    Anyone already doing this?
    Ideas?

For example, I don't think you can specify a mainline in the manifest of an ear or war.
They have pretty strictly defined formats, and I don't want to risk violating a standard by tinkering outside the standard.Possible, but you can always run it as java -cp myWar.war my.utility.Version.
There may be another possibility, but I'm unable to find any reference though:
In my early Java days, I used to work on a system where there was a Unix utility (called something like +"ident"+) that was able to extract version and description info stuffed in a .so file (under which "standard" or proprietary format was the info stored, I don't know).
I used to see it work on individual Java .class files too (from memory we had to put a String constant name "VERSION" in the class) and maybe jar files (I'm unsure).
One of my co-workers at that time had described that as a standard tool, but "ident" turns up nothing of that kind on Google... And I've never since encountered any description of the "VERSION" constant naming convention...
I was young and naive, I hope I were not bluffed by some alias in a custom setup... :o(

OK a bit more reserah turned up [that man page|http://man-wiki.net/index.php/1:ident]. Apparently ident is part of RCS (installed along with CVS), and works by grepping the target file for patterns such as "$keyword: text $" (which is RCS/CVS keyword substitution pattern). Now that it mentions it, I remeber that that's what we put into our VERSION constant's value ("$version : ...$", or something of that kind).
    So:
    1) it's not so standard after all, you have to install the rcs package on the target host (regardless of whether you use RCS for configuration management, which would probably be a bad idea nowadays)
    2) you have to put such formatted strings somewhere in your code or configuration files (easy with Ant, if not genuinely through Subversion)
    3) To have it work on jar, war, ear, files, you have to make sure that the file is not compressed (otherwise the pattern might not appear in clear). I don't know whether that's easy to configure using Ant's jar, war, ear tasks.
A bit of a hassle compared to stuffing your own utility class and using java -cp...

  • Which version of Axis is included in SAP NW Java EE5?

I'm the architect for SAP xMII Connectivity and have been working with Microsoft technologies for over 10 years and web services on/off for the past 2.   My primary work has been using Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) against Axis2 and Sun WSIT, but I am now investigating the WS capabilies of the new SAP Java DevStudio.
When I began to play with the latest SAP NW Dev Studio, the WS client wizard showed Axis as the selected WS runtime.  Is this Axis 2, and if so, what version is this specifically?  If this is Axis2, will the NW environment support the deployment of a custom Axis2 transport?
Thanks in advance for any response,
    Bob DeRemer

    Hi Bob,
Indeed, SAP NWDS in Java EE 5 Edition is based on Eclipse 3.2 and WTP 1.5, which supports Apache Axis 1.3 (see <a href="http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/jst/components/ws/index.html">here</a>). Searching the eclipse site I found some plans for integrating Axis2 into WTP 2.0 (<a href="http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/Meetings_for_Integrating_Axis2_into_WTP">here</a>).
However, please note that the SAP Server in Java EE 5 Edition does not support the Apache Axis Web service runtime. You can use it with the SAP NetWeaver runtime and this is the default configuration when you start the WS wizard.
    HTH!
