Hi,
The JDK version jdk1.4_08 or jdk1.4_09 well suits the WAS 6.40/EP 6.0. The relevant PDK can be downloaded from the service.sap.com.

I'd like to know where I can look to see the full version number and understand what version I am on.

The Release Notes document (pdk.release.notes.html) contains the version information.

  • Version of pdk for EP 7.0.4  in SAP NetWeaver 2004s

    Hello,
I have installed Portal (EP) 7.0.4 in netweare 2004s (was 7.0) in oracle 10g and Windows 2003.
    Question:
    1. That version of pdk I must install ?
    2. Where I can find for download ?
    thanks for its aid ,
    Luis.

    Luis,
the PDK contains mainly documentation and examples. That means the PDK should be installable.
Your NWDS 7.0 has all the needed Portal-APIs in the correct version already implemented so that you can use them.
IMHO, there are just minor changes between the 6.40 and 7.00 versions.

  • Older versions of PDK...

Where can I download older versions of PDK ?
The current version (oct 02) requires at least portal version 3.0.9.8.2., whereas my customer run on 3.0.9.8.0...

Most of the features of PDK work with earlier versions (<3.0.9.8.2)
of portal. But to answer your question, we cannot dowload earlier
    versions of PDK through portalstudio.

  • PDK SP Version vs. EP SP Version

    Hi,
Are there any concerns/risks associated with importing PDK SP14 to EP 6.0 SP13?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    The documentation says the following:
    <b>Platform Limitations
The PDK 60.14.0 is released for SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 SP14 or higher on SAP WebAS 6.40 Java.</b>
Based on the above I would only attempt to import this in a test installation which you don't really care if it stops working. A better way would be to upgrade your installation of EP 6 to the minimum of SP14 as required by the Business Package or use the SP2 version of PDK instead.

  • Two ways of integrating portlets from PDK

    Hello,
I have just installed the sample JPDK portlets in Portal and they are working correctly. I followed the instructions on the file: /pdk/jpdk/installing.jpdk.html (Installing the PDK-Java Framework and Samples) from the August PDK edition.
Surprisingly, this document was last reviewed in April 4, 2002 and many parts of the instructions are unacurate. I.e. Testing the Web Provider Sample Setup and Registering the Web Provider Sample.
Then I found the file: /pdk/jpdk/v2/installing.pdkjava.v2.html (Installing the PDK-Java Framework and Samples) from the same edition which has been updated in July 3, 2002.
This second file looks like instructions for doing exactly the same thing but they are completely different. Some of the instructions on this document were helpful for solving the problems I had with the other document.
At the end I installed the files...
    BUT...
When I try to install the portlets by following the second document i.e. Deploying the EAR file. It does not work. I can see in the logs that the EAR file was processed but its contents are never placed under the /apache/htdocs/jpdk folder. And I can not even run the sample: http://ourserver:port/jpdk/providers/sample
    Any help or suggestions welcomed!

    Hi,
There are 2 versions of PDK Java - V1 & V2 (version 1 & 2). The file 'installing.jpdk.html' is for version 1 and the file 'installing.pdkjava.v2.html' is for V2. In V1 you'll install PDKJava in Apache JServ and in V2 you'll install PDKJava in OC4J. The documents are different and explain different installation steps for different versions.
If you are deploying the EAR file , you shoukld be deploying it under OC4J and not in Apache Jserv.

    Hi all,
We installed EP 7.0 successfully. But we couldn't find the PDK for EP 7.0 anywhere. The links which were mentioned in other threads are not working. I couldn't find any info regarding PDK download.
Any inputs on the path to download PDK for EP 7.0.

  • Upgrading from PDK 1.0 patch 3 to PDK 2.0

    hi,
We have upgraded from PDK 1.0 patch 3 to PDK 2.0.
Since the upgrade we have problems with the DropDownByKey control. It seems that the value of the SelectedKey property of the control is not behaving the same way it has before the upgrade and we are getting the following error when trying to convert the value of the property into int:
"FormatException: Input string was not in a correct format"
The iView works fine in the previous version of PDK.
Is somthing changed regarding the DropDownByKey control?

    Hi Ofer,
The DropDownByKey as it was renderred in html:
    "<b><select class="urDdlWhl" id="td2043e9a_ddlCasePhysicalLocation" ct="DropDownListBox" name="td2043e9a:ddlCasePhysicalLocation" onkeydown="sapUrMapi_DropDownListBox_keydown('td2043e9a_ddlCasePhysicalLocation',event)" style="width:130;"><option value="0">&#1492;&#1499;&#1500;</option><option value="1">&#1488;&#1512;&#1499;&#1497;&#1489;</option><option value="2">&#1505;&#1508;&#1512;&#1497;&#1514; &#1514;&#1497;&#1511;&#1497;&#1501; &#1489;&#1496;&#1497;&#1508;&#1493;&#1500;</option></select></b>"
The SelectedKey property value in PDK 1.0 patch 3:
    <b>ddlCasePhysicalLocation.SelectedKey = '0'</b>
The SelectedKey property value in PDK 2.0:
    <b>ddlCasePhysicalLocation.SelectedKey = ''</b>
    Thanks

Thanks in advance for the help.

  • Frustrated with Jdev 10.1.3.2 / PDK tags

I am completely frustrated with the new version of Jdev. Was looking forward to the new features and the integrated PDK portion but after downloading, it wont even compile a simple jsp file with PDK strut tags.
    JSP code :
    <%@ page contentType="text/html; charset=windows-1252" %>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://xmlns.oracle.com/portal/pdk/struts/tags-html" prefix="pdk-html"%>
    <body>
    <pdk-html:form action="testaction"/></body>
Project property has the following libraries included:
    Struts Runtime
    PDK Struts HTML Tag library
    JSP runtime
    Servlet Runtime
    JSP Tag library has :
    Struts Bean/Logic
    PDK Struts HTML
BUT when compiling the JSP, I get the following error...
    Error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/struts/taglib/html/FormTag
looks like it cannot find the class definition but the jar files are clearly included in the library.
Whats absurd is when adding a pre-defined library such as PDK Struts HTML, Jdev makes a duplicate copy of the JAR file to /WEB-INF/Lib ..... not sure why it does that. Then it inserts a duplicate entry under the JSP Tag library under the same exact name except it has no libraries entry filled. So now I have two version of PDK Struts HTML in the JSP Tag library.
CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHATS GOING ON HERE? never had this problem with version 10.1.2

The PDK parts of JDeveloper are developed by the WebCenter/Portal team, so you might want to cross post here:

  • PDK for EP Sneak Preview SP4

    Hi.
I installed EP Sneak Preview SP4 and I want to use PDK.
    - Which version of PDK can I use for EP Sneak Preview SP4 ?
    ( PDK 6.0 SP3 is OK ? )
    - Where can I get PDK eclipse plugin for EP Sneak Preview SP4 ? (I found  PDK eclipse plugin SP2. Is it works for EP Sneak Preview SP4 ? )
    Regards,
    Arnold.

    hi,
you can deploy the pdk60.3 via sdm to your sneak preview.
the eclipse-plugin is then downloadable in the portal in menu Java Development / Tools / Downloads.
but if you use the netweaver developer studio, there's no need to download the plug-in, since it's already in the nds implemented. you'll only need the plugin for an eclipse (2.x) installation (or eclipse base, like ibm websphere studio).

  • Which PDK to download?

I am using Portal Repository Version 9.0.2.2.22. Could anyone tell me which version of PDK should I download and if possible from where?
    Thanks
    Rajesh

    Hello Rajesh,
You can download the PDK from PortalStudio
Do you plan to develop your portlets in Jav or PL/SQL ?
    - For java you have 2 choices:
    - if you plan to deploy you portal in the same midtier (902x) you have to download the PDK 9.0.2.6.2 (bottom of the download page)
    - but it is always better to use the latest one, and it is the PDK 10g (9.0.4.0.2) pdksoftware.zip (APIs & PortalTools) & pdkcontent.zip (articles). This PDK could be deployed in a 10g (9.0.4) stack only so you have to download a stand alone OC4J or use the pre-configured one.
    - the PDK PL/SQL is also available from this page.

  • PDK 6.0 Licensing!!

    Hello,
Could anyone please tell me, where from i can get the FULL unlimited version of PDK for EP 6.0? My basic need for PDK is to deploy .PAR files that works for unlimited time period.
I tried to download the one available from SDN, but its License Agreement says "90 DAYS EVALUATION LICENSE AGREEMENT". I tried to check for PDK for EP 6.0 on Marketplace, but could only find PDK for .NET.
Could anyone please explain me about this "License Agreement" more briefly and point me to the right place where i might find the full version of PDK EP 6.0. Thanks.
    Regards,

    Hi Vasu,
Here is the navigation, where you can find PDK for MS.NET on Marketplace:
Goto <b>Search for all Categories</b> section and enter "PDK .net" as search term.
From the search result click on <b>PDK FOR MS .NET  </b>  and a window pops up with links to all available PDKs. Just click into the links and navigate.

  • Install PDK problem

    Dear All
I am using oracle 9i AS R2, i try to install the PDK JAVA Framework, i follow the OTN PDK installation guide step by step, when i restart the HTTP server, i open the IE, and then enter 'http://testing.com:7777/servlets/sample' or 'http://testing.com:7777/servlet/sample', IE return 'The page can not be found'.
Would you give me some idea on how to install PDK??
    Tony

    Hi,
What version of PDK are you using? If you are new to PDK, i would suggest that you download the latest December release from
    http://otn.oracle.com/software/htdocs/devlic.html?http://download.oracle.com/otn/other/PDK.zip
On unzipping the pdk.zip you will find the lotus notes portlets under %PDK_UNZIP%/PDK/solutions/lotusnotes. There you will find the installation guide for deploying the lotusnotes.ear onto your OC4J.
Under %PDK_UNZIP%/PDK/solutions/ you will also find some new portlets like sms, smtp that you might want to try.
For URL Services, you can go through the PDK release notes at %PDK_UNZIP%/PDK/ which will give you pointers to articles on URL services.

  • Clear Thought for PDK  Install and Download

    Hello Form.
I want to install PDK on EP 6.0 (Version - 6.0.9.0.0), EP6.0 is installed on UNIX O/S.
I am getting confused on 3 aspects.
    1. Which is the correct version of PDK I need to install.
    2. From where to download that
    3. The installation Steps.
I was checking in the forum and got confused.
My understand is as below kindly confirm
    1. Version on PDK --> Portal Development Kit 6.0 SP2
    2. Download from SDN --> download --> Portal Development Kit 6.0 SP2 for Release EP 6.0 SP2
    3. Installation method is --> Import the .epa from System Administration>Transport>Import>
    Thanks.

    Hi Ravish,
For your version EP6.0 SP9 I would use the PDK 6.0.9.0 which unfortunately is not available over SDN Navigation any more but you could use this link:
    ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/sdn/devkits/PDK/pdk60_90.zip
The installation method i not over System Administration -> Transport -> Import but over SDM. Please check the first answer in this thread for the correct way to install the PDK: How to get JavaDevelopmentTab in the Portal
    Hope this helps,
    Robert
