Vertical Center a Page

I can horizontally center a page with:
$("#Stage").css("margin","auto")
How can I vertically center a 960px x 580px Edge Page (Stage)?
Thanks for any help

Hi Mario,
The only way to achieve this is by using anchors. There is no way in Muse to do so. For more info, Please refer to the following link Re: How can I have an anchor used as my home page?

  • Vertically center text on a page-document wide

    Anyone know how to center text vertically on FrameMaker pages? (There is a way to do this, right?)
    Thanks!

    Nope, not document wide. You could do it manually on a page by page basis or if the content is suffciently small that you can make each page a fixed height row of a table you could use the Table middle setting for the paragraphs.
    With a tool like Framescript, you could set up a procedure that would determine the bottom gap from the last line of text to the end of the text frame and then split difference to push down the top of line text, but this requires a bit of coding.

  • Captivate 8 Center Vertically in HTML Page

    One other guy asked this earlier this year - but no one has responded - so I'm asking again here.
    Is there a way to publish a project so that it (meaning the entire project stage) vertically center aligns in the HTML page?
    Am I missing something in the interface? I am extremely new to this rapid elearning software, used to using pure HTML, XML, and Flash, so it's very possible I am missing it. I'm messing with a responsive project - and I notice it auto centers horizontally already, but sticks to the top of the page. This looks simply dreadful in a desktop browser. I don't see any settings for making the project match the full width and/or height of any browser window - no matter the size (very odd for something "responsive") so centering a constrained rectangle-shaped project screams for vertical alignment capability. My disbelief that there is no option for this simple and fundamental setting has caused me to spend several fruitless hours searching for the answer. I've gone into the html and css itself in the output folder, but that stuff is wrapper hell, and I really don't want to have to re-enter custom code every time I update and re-export a project. I can't imagine I'm correct in assuming this was overlooked? Please tell me I'm wrong .
    A side note: I'm glad they gave version 8 some breakpoints to work with - but am I the only one who thinks it doesn't really feel like a genuinely "responsive" layout? I've built responsive websites before - and this is kinda cloogy. I don't see how you can get it to expand to 100% of the browser window above the top breakpoint (maxes out at like 1280 I think)... really strange implementation - but anyhow, not my main question I suppose. Was just say'n... if you know a setting for that too lol... like I said, I'm new to the software.
    Thanks for any help you may have!
    Jason

    Okay - I'm pretty certain that Adobe has no way of simply publishing any project in Captivate 8 with vertical centering in the HTML output page. But, I think I figured this out. Admittedly, I haven't thoroughly tested using a full-blown completed project, but it works when tested on a responsive project with very little slide content thus far (which shouldn't matter). And, thanks windscorpion for the iframe suggestion - that would work perfectly normally (and allow me to really customize the html page too) but it created issues for me when trying to retain the "responsive" aspects of the project. I'll use that approach when building non-responsive projects. Unfortunately, my solution is something I'll have to repeat each time I publish the main project - so probably best to save it for final  - but it's simple/quick at least.
    Here are the general steps...
    Publish the responsive project
    Open the "index.html" file in a text or code editor
    Replace a little inline css (code shown below)
    Save the index.html file
    Here's the code to replace:
    Up between the <head> tags, there is a metric ton of content barfed into the "cpInit()" function. Find this bit of code inside that function:
    id='project_container' style='left:0px; top:0px; width:100%; height:100%; position:absolute; overflow:hidden;
    Change the style properties to this:
    id='project_container' style='position:relative; top:50%; transform:translateY(-50%); overflow:hidden;
    Now, I'm not sure if changing that from 'absolute' to 'relative' is going to have an adverse effect of some kind on any elements inside that div - but I don't see anything happening so far. The table of contents still slides normally and all that jazz. If anyone runs into an issue however - just reply and let me know. I'll so the same!

  • How to Vertically center dynamic text?

    I am trying to vertically center and wrap text within a Text div. I have figured out how to center text if it is a single line, but the text that I am using will be diffrent for each user depending on what language they view the page in. How can i make sure that text is always vertically centred and wrapped regardless of how long it is?

    Could you do this with css? There is a css attribute display:table that allows you to set the paragraph attribute to align to themiddle of a region. See: http://css-tricks.com/vertically-center-multi-lined-text/
    Hope that helps.

    Vertical centering is a Print concept; not appropriate to web design except for special situations like Splash/Intro pages or business cards.  See demo below:
    http://alt-web.com/TEMPLATES/vertical-center.html
    Horizontal centering is all you need in most situations.
    If you feel the page would look better with some top margins and padding, add them to the body CSS code.

    Look at your iphoto 'page'.
    On the left is a margin running vertically down the page and within that margin are shown your files/folders - e.g 'events', 'last 12 months', 'anniversary' etc etc.
    Now visualize the 'page' but WITHOUT the margin and the entries in it. It just disappeared while I was editing photos.

  • Quick Look PDF with vertical and horizontal pages

    Is there any way to make Quick Look preview a PDF file with vertical and horizontal pages without adding white padding and retaining the aspect ratio?
    Now, if I have a PDF with page 1 vertical and the other pages horizontal QL shows the latter also with the ratio of a vertical page and adds white padding at their top and bottom. You get the inverse output if the first page is horizontally oriented, but the rest are vertical.

    Word renders print jobs that change the orientation as separate print jobs. So, each print job becomes its own PDF.
    You can make an Automator workflow to combine PDFs. I’m not sure how it decides the order it combines them, so you’d have to experiment.
    This is built as an Application where you’d drop all of the PDFs onto the App icon and it will open the combined PDF where you can edit, name, and save.

And in the paper layout i have to drag the main repeating frame to 12th page (i.e from 1st page to 12th page). but it shows 10 pages in reports paper layout without margin. If i on the edit margin then it shows 12 pages. But if i on the edit margin i can able to drap the my frame. So any way to do that.

  • How to vertically center InlineGraphicElements?

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to extend the InlineGraphic TLF example to insert images of varying sizes, but vertically center them in the text Flow.  I'm having trouble figuring out the correct parameters to properly center the element.  I've been playing with alignmentBaseline & dominantBaseline w/ IDEOGRAPHIC_CENTER, but I don't get very promising results.  Here's a screen shot of where I'm at:
    Notice the blue box(added in post), the text MESSUP is being placed on the same line as the Lorem Ipsum text(in the string, it's Donec MESSUP).  Also, the selection box (Ctrl+A) shows breaks in the text layout.  It seems like the boxes should be shifted up.  This may be as designed, if so, how do I compact/shift the boxes up?
    For contrast, this is what it looks like without the centering:

  • Using AP elements on a center justified page

    Sorry if this question has been asked innumerable times
    before. If so, can anyone direct me to a link that explains how to
    move AP elements about on a center justified web page? When I do
    so, the AP elements seem to do their own thing, irrespective of the
    center justified page.
    Here is the URL
    in question.
    I realize I can manually set the CSS position properties for
    each of the 12 AP elements, but was wondering if I can do this in a
    quicker, simpler way.
    Here is an
    example of a page layout I'm trying to emulate. Any ideas?

    Joe: Just so you'll know, that solution is posted here 5-10
    times a week.
    I would change your code to this -
    <body>
    <div id="wrapper">
    <div id="apDiv6"><img src="images/jp-bio_bkgd.gif"
    width="1300"
    height="850"
    /></div>
    <div id="apDiv8"></div>
    <div id="apDiv9"></div>
    <div id="apDiv10"></div>
    <!-- /wrapper -->
    </div>
    </body>
    Then I would stop using absolute positioning altogether until
    you can build
    an entire page in Notepad. It's a seductive nightmare
    otherwise.
    Understanding why my solution works will require that you
    understand how CSS
    positioning works. This may help you understand a bit -
    There are 4 different types of positioning:
    Absolute
    Relative
    Fixed
    Static
    Here is a brief explanation of each kind of positioning (with
    regard to
    placement of elements on the page only)....
    Position:absolute (or A/P elements)
    This does several things -
    1. It 'removes' the element from the flow of the code on
    the page so that
    it can no longer influence the size or position of any other
    page element
    (except for those contained within it, of course).
    2. The absolutely positioned element takes its position from
    the position of
    its closest PARENT *positioned* element - in the
    absence of any explicitly
    positioned parent, this will default to the <body> tag,
    which is always
    positioned
    at 0,0 in the browser viewport.
    This means that it doesn't matter where in the HTML code the
    layer's code
    appears (between <body> and </body>), its
    location on the screen will not
    change (this assumes that you have not positioned the A/P
    element within
    a table or another A/P element, of course).
    Furthermore, the space in
    which
    this element would have appeared were it not positioned
    is not preserved
    on the screen. In other words, absolutely positioned elements
    don't take
    up any space on the page. In fact, they FLOAT over the page.
    Position:relative (or R/P elements)
    In contrast to absolute positioning, a relatively positioned
    page element is
    *not* removed from the flow of the code on the page, so
    it will use the
    spot
    where it would have appeared based on its position in
    the code as its
    zero point reference. If you then supply top, right,
    bottom, or left
    positions
    to the style for this element, those values will be
    used as offsets from
    its
    zero point.
    This means that it DOES matter where in the code the
    relatively positioned
    element appears (, as it will be positioned in that location
    (factoring in
    the offsets) on the screen (this is true for any placement in
    the code).
    Furthermore, the space where this element would have
    appeared is
    preserved in the display, and can therefore affect the
    placement of
    succeeding elements. This means that the taller a relatively
    positioned element is, the more space it forces on the page.
    Position:static
    As with relative position, static positions also "go with
    the flow". An
    element with a static position cannot have values for
    offsets (top, right,
    left, bottom) or if it has them, they will be ignored. Unless
    explicitly
    positioned, all div elements default to static positioning.
    Position:fixed
    A page element with this style will not scroll as the page
    content scrolls.
    Support for this in elements other than page backgrounds is
    quirky
    There are several other things you need to know:
    1. ANY page element can be positioned - paragraphs, tables,
    images, lists,
    etc.
    2. The <div> tag is a BLOCK level tag. This means that
    if it is not
    positioned or explicitly styled otherwise, a) it will always
    begin on a new
    line on the screen, and b) it will always force content to a
    new line below
    it, and c) it will always take up the entire width of its
    container (i.e.,
    width:100%).
    3. The placement of A/P elements *can* affect the BEHAVIOR of
    other
    elements
    on the page. For example, a 'layer' placed over a hyperlink
    will mask that
    hyperlink.
    You can see a good example of the essential difference
    between absolute and
    relative positioning here -
    http://www.great-web-sights.com/g_layersdemo.asp
    You can see a good demonstration of why using layers for a
    page layout tool
    is dangerous here -
    http://www.great-web-sights.com/g_layer-overlap.asp
    Finally, to get away from absolute positioning, start here -

    help me i won't create kind of document are  first page on vertical and second page on horizon.

    pages on iOS dosnt support making new documents with landscape view. I think this would also make it so you could not combine the two orientations in a single document.
    I was able to get a landscape document made by making it on the desktop, emailing it to myself, then saving it in pages on my ipad. Not sure if that would work for a combination document.

  • Region in Center of Page

    Hi,
    i want to display my region in center of Page.
    How can i do this.i have tried but i can't.
    How can i do this.
    Thanks

    Absolute center, over other images too ?
    You can apply css styling to your region in the Region Attributes
    for instance
    style=&quot;position:absolute;left:300px;top:300px&quot;positions the div at 300px,300px from the top left of the page.
    You can also use the z-index property to position it above other page elements
    style=&quot;position:absolute;left:0px;top:0px;z-index:100&quot;would place the region at the top left over elements already there.
    If you want to set it on a page with dynamic width, use javascript to determine the page height and width and set these properties.
    For instance
    $('#REGION_STATIC_ID').css({ "position":"absolute"
                                      ,"top": $(window).height()/2
                                      ,"left": $(window).width()/2
                                    })
