Very Nube Question About Creating a Very Basic Application Bundle / Package

I don't know anything about XCode or AppleScript, other than that they exist, so I'm coming at this with only conceptual knowledge of how applications on OS-X work. Nonetheless, I have a goal that I feel should be really easy to accomplish, I just don't know where to begin.
What I have is an html file with an embedded flash project that also references some outside files, such as pdfs for printing. This was designed to live on the web, but in reality it will be shipped out on a CD. Right now, if you insert the cd, you see the file contents (the above mentioned HTML file, as well as two folders containing the flash files and the pdfs that are embedded in or linked out from the html file).
This isn't very elegant, and doesn't accomplish the "app" feel I'm shooting for. What I'm wondering is: is there a way to create an application package that has the html file and content folders tucked inside of it, so that when a user clicks on the application package, the html file is automatically launched? What resources might you point me to in order to learn how to do this in a relatively short amount of time? (I'm not even positive if I'm using the correct terminology to search for solutions... is it an application package or an application bundle?)
Now for the limitations:
These files were generated on a Windows machine by an eLearning tool ("Articulate Presenter") and therefore really can't be fiddled with much. I can't open any of the flash files and change the directory paths for the resource files the main presentation needs. I'm fairly confident the presentation just refers to the folder the html file is in as its root, so if the file structure could stay relatively intact once all the files move inside this "bundle," I think everything will still work.
The Articulate Presenter folks aren't particularly helpful in solving Mac compatibility issues, so I thought I'd pose my question here. If I'm not being clear, I am happy to add additional details. Thanks very much for your patience with, and willingness to offer advice to, a complete newbie.

It's even easier than you think.
Open AppleScript Editor.
Type in the following code:
set htmlFile to (POSIX path of (path to me)) & "Contents/Resources/index.html"
set openCommand to "open " & quoted form of htmlFile
do shell script openCommand
Then do File > Save, and use 'Application' as the file format.
Then the "Bundle Contents" button on the toolbar will be enabled. Click it to open up the drawer.
Drag your HTML content and resources into the drawer.
Do File > Save again. Ta-da, you have your web-content packaged as an application.
This assumes that the top-level has a file named index.html. If not, modify to suit.

A question about creating packages as local objects in ABAP

Hi,
I have a question about creating packages with SE80. Whenever I create a new package it is assigned a new transport request. After that, I can create new programs inside this package, and each time I can choose whether to assign the new program to a transport request or just save it as a local object (I often do this for test programs that I don't transport and I remove them once my tests have been done).
What I would like to ask is that, is it possible to create a package (and not just programs inside a given package) as a local object? so that every new object created in this package will be considered as a local object?

Very specific question about iOS 7 and podcasts

I have a very specific question regarding the playback of podasts under iOS 7.
Right now, I've still got iOS 5.1.1 (iPhone 4S).
What I would like to have is a way to play an episode from a podcast that I have not yet finished, and when I double-click the ear-bud's middle button, then I would like to jump (skip) to the episode in the list, even if that episode is from a different podcast.
Right now, under iOS 5.1.1, I achieved that by creating a smart playlist in iTunes that collects all the episodes from all podcasts with a play count == 0.
This smart playlist is mirrored to the iPhone.
It works very well.
It seems to me that something like that is not possible under iOS 6, so I skipped that.
My question now is whether I can acheive this under iOS 7.
I would be most grateful if some kind soul could shed some light on that for me.

I do absolutely intend to print a test copy first - but thanks to your advice at least know the spine is going to be ok!
I didn't realize that method would give me a nice landscape image of the unbound cover - I'd mistakenly remembered that it gave only one page at a time for front and back.

A question about creating READ ONLY users.

Dear all,
I have a question about read only user accounts and I would appreciate if you could kindly give me a hand. I have a schema named SCHEMA1. Whenever I want to connect by using sqlplus I run the following:
sqlplus user1/[email protected] SCHEMA1.WORLD is the entry in the tnsnames.ora referring to the schema SCHEMA1.
I need to create a read only user who is able to SELECT all tables and views created by user1 on SCHEMA1 (this user will not modifiy anything at all. The user is used only for a person using SQL queries to read data). for several tables I write the grants explicitly, for example:
CREATE USER user2 IDENTIFIED BY user2;
GRANT CREATE SESSION to user2;
GRANT SELECT ON S001_COR_ECLASS TO user2;
GRANT SELECT ON REF_ECLASS511 TO user2;Is there anyway to do the same thing but for all the tables (because there are a lot of tables and views)? Besides, even with these granted permissions when the user connects with SQL Developer to the database, he is not able to view the list of tables/views in SQL Developer GUI. What causes this problem?

he is not able to view the list of tables/views in SQL Developer GUIyou can either go to "Other Users" - user1 - tables. There you see every table you have permission to select.
Or you can create a synonym in schema2 for each table in schema1 and set a filter on the tables node of user2 "Include synonyms".

VERY new to flash...question about creating files...

Hello everyone,
I will tell you first and foremost, I have no idea how to use flash (files and the creation of, that is).
I am using CS4 Dw to create my website however, I want to use the flash version of my template.
Do I need to edit the template within the flash file (which I have no idea how to do exactly) or is there a way to "convert" the non-flash version of the template.......I at least know how to edit that! Or, do I have to create a separate flash file altogether?
If I'm not making any sense, please let me know! TIA.

In the general, a template's graphic elements are more likely intended to be fixed pieces that you wouldn't edit except for a desire to change the way the site appears from an aethetic perspective. If you are wondering about changing those visual elements, then you are probably looking at changing photoshop files. Ideally a template has all the visuals established, and the only thing the user of it has to worry about is the information content. And in this case, ideally, that information is in a form that is readily editable either as text in textfields or in data files that are dynamically read into the file.
Being as how you say you have only started messing around... give yourself more time to explore how you need to go about changing things.

A very stupid question about MDic application[SOLVED]

I have tried StarDict in Arch which I think that is the best known dictionary application in Linux world. Since I had to use mouse to access StarDict, I decided to try MDic instead. My problems is that I do not know the default location of MDic dictionary files. After search topics for about two hours, I gave up.
There must be a directory where MDic searches for dictionary files. Where is it? or What MDic configuration file has the information? So, I can install dictionary files int to the directory. I looked for this information in http://mdic.gnufolks.org/ and google.com. I believe this kind of very fundamental information should be in the wiki fo MDic. But I couldn't find one. Maybe, it is because I am so idiot. Would somebody help me how to install MDic dictionary in a appropriate location or the default location? Thank you so much for your helps.

Yes, it was a stupid question. I found that I can configure the location of the dictionary file. I also installed PyGlossary to convert dictionaries for MDic. Everything works fine now. Thank you.

A very important question about the HostSample-Help needed!

I'm trying to build a plugin for EM 12c ( 12.1.0.2 ) which suppose to monitor jmx mbeans .
I encountered during the README file which was packed with the EDK .
1. In the section where I try to use Flash builder ( ver 4.6 - that's the only release I found .. ) I folowed the instructions if how to run the example ( HostSample/HostSystem ) . When I run the example ( I installed the sdk's of Flash and everything that was written there - no problem )
in the web browser i got the login page , and put the parameters ( username, password ) as it said in the README - the same username/password as i log in to the EM console .Than I got an error saying " ... RPC fault string ..... Logging to management server ... URL:https.. host ( my host name ) : port ( my port number ) /em..."
Does anyone has a clue about this ? What am i doing wrong or miss something ?

To add a bit more detail. Before you run the application from FlashBuilder, open the same browser you will use to run/debug the application in FlashBuilder and install certificate.
Firefox:
. when the "This Connection is Untrusted" warning appears
. expand the "I Understand the Risks" item
. click the "Add Exception..." button
. on the "Add Security Exception" dialog, ensure "Permanently store this exception" is checked
. click "Confirm Security Exception" button
IE:
. when the "Certificate Error: Navigation Blocked" page appears, click "Continue to this website (not recommended)"
. click on the "Certificate Error" icon in the browser address bar
. in the "Untrusted Certificates" popup, click "View Certificates"
. click on the "Certification Path" tab of the "Certificate" dialog
. select the root certificate (certificate at the root of the tree)
. click "View Certificate..." button
. click "Install Certificate..." on the "Certificate" dialog that appears
. click "Next" on the "Certificate Import Wizard"
. select "Place all certificates in the following store" button and click "Browse..."
. select "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" on the "Select Certificate Stores" dialog and click "OK"
. click "Next" button, and then "Finish" button
. click "Yes" on "Security Warning" dialog that appears
The other alternative is to enable http access using "emctl secure unlock". This is not recommended for a production site.

Very simple question about webapp list layout.

I am having a very simple issue. I have created a web app and it has a default list layout looks like:

I have placed web app module (using {module_webapps,14273,a} ) in one of my page. In front-end it has show every thing fine except it shows table tag for each item:

When I delete table and tbody tags from list view, it stop showing table related tags instead it start showing it without any tag.
How to correct this issue? Please help!!!

Here is what you can do:
-edit the webapp list layout via FTP or via the "alpha" File Manager. The WYSIWYG editor will attempt to "correct" your HTML code. Enter something like this:

-on the page you need the listing placed on enter this code:
<table>
<tbody>
{webappmodule here}
</tbody>
</table>
When the page renders you will get the desired result:

Very important question about fm record

I saw a Creative gb nano plus that says on the package that it will record fm. I want to record a show while working so can listen to it when I get home (like timeshifting on the vcr). However, I see that on this forum, the fm recording has been eliminated. My question is: )if the product package says there is fm recording, is there actually fm recording? 2)if there is no fm recording, please recommend another brand that has fm recording. Also, I want the fm recording to be clear, nearly as good as the original heard through the headphones. It gets very tiring to listen to a low bitrate recording. I'm not trying to change my account name, I'm trying to change the name of a folder. If you open up finder, then on the left you'll see the sections devices, places and search for. I'm trying to change the folder under places with the little house symbol next to it. Instead of being called Home like it's supposed to it has the beginning of my email address, which is emokidd21. I really want to change that because that's an old email account that I only use for itunes and instant messaging and I just plain old don't like the name. I really hope there is a way to change this!

Question about reading a very big file into a buffer.

file out.
2. I think the charset table file is very big and I doubted

Hi, a very easy way to convert almost anything is
called "typecasting". It might sound difficult, but
it isn't.
You use it like this example
> String outcome;

Output = ""+input;
That's not casting. It's implicit formatting.
What it does is making an empty string and pasting
your number behind it. VERY easy! You can do this
with allmost every type of variables.What it's doing is creating a StringBuffer, appending an empty string to it, then appending the result of calling toString on the Double, which is itself a String. (Though things change a bit in jdk1.5.) It works because StringBuffer.append has versions for each primitive type, and toString exists for all Objects.
One problem is that it's not efficient -- you're doing a lot of work behind the scenes to do something that can be done much more simply. But the bigger problem is that it's using operators in a roundabout way and with implicit results. So it's sort of a hack. "+" is the append operator for Strings (well it actually comes down to an implicit method call, or several). Putting the double on the right side of that also causes an implicit format. So you're implicitly formatting a value, and then appending it to nothing, to get a result. You're not actually meaning to append, you're meaning to format, but you're using an append operator.
The more straightforward way to do it is simply to explicitly format it, using the methods already shown on this thread, or using java.text.DecimalFormat.

Very specific question about cover colour

Hi there,
I'm looking to print a medium, soft-backed book. Actually...quite a large run of the same design.
I'm using the basic Picturebook template.
The theme I'm going for is images on black pages. If I make the background colour of the front and back pages black - will the spine also be black?
The default colour setting for page backgrounds on this template is grey. I'm worried that the spine of the book may be grey - which would look terrible (I have to use this template as the other don't offer me the flexibility I need on the internal pages)
Has anybody got any experience that will assure me that the spine won't differ from the black background colour selected for front and back?

General but very urgent question about After Effects...

I registered for an online course with my college called "Motion Graphics."
The class description states that the course teaches Adobe Flash and Adobe After Effects,
and requires the "Classroom in a Book" textbooks for both applications.
Part of the class description says, "Students will learn how to manipulate text, produce simple animations,
incorporate audio and video, and learn the necessities of Action Scripting."
I don't know much about After Effects; I signed up for the class to learn Flash because I am interested in using it
to create games, mobile apps, and embedded web content. I have no interest in making flash movies.
After the course opened up today online, it says only the After Effects textbook is needed,
and that the Flash textbook is not required because Flash has been "phased out" of the course.
I have been intending to take the ActionScript course after this completing this Motion Graphics course.
This Motion Graphics course is actually a prerequisite for the ActionScript course.
Does that even make sense considering Flash has been "phased out" of the course?
As I said, my intention was to learn Flash and move on to learning ActionScript for the purpose of
creating games, mobile apps, and embedded web content. Should I even be bothering with this class?

I contacted the course instructor about the situation, to which she replied:
"So sorry, summer was the last time flash would be taught. Advanced Flash, after this semester, will not longer exist either.
It will be renamed "Advanced Motion Graphics" however, the number for the DIG class will remain the same.
It will only cover After Effects, as flash can no longer work with creating many "apps" and other applications do not except flash.
If you want to take a flash course, maybe the college offers a weekend course, maybe?
Classroom in a book is a great book to learn on, so if you want, you could keep the textbook and learn it on your own.
Again, sorry for your disappointment, but this class will only cover after effects."

Very Simple Question About Animated GIF Background

Hi,
Till now I didn't realise that I don't have to copy the whole
picture into every frame, I can simply keep the "static" part as a
background, and animate only the changing object (for example, some
letters). This way the final file will be much smaller in size.
I right-click on the selection and choose Animate Selection,
but then I don't know how to arrange the animated selection and the
background static picture to achieve the desireble result.
Please advise.

Seeing your PNG file would take a lot of the guesswork out of
this, but
basically:
Put the static elements on one layer and choose to share that
layer to
frames.
Either add your animation elements to separate frames or read
up on
using animation symbols.
