Very simple Java

Hello, I'm trying to copmose short Java script without having too much Java and OOP experieence. I just need to create a Stack, then make push and pop.
As you can see my code doesn't work at all. Can anybody give me a hand.
I really need it today.
Thansk to all java gurus !!

     public mtop = pop();
     System.out.println("My pop Stack..........." + mtop);
}

Read my postsI do. Quite often.
Contrast that versus the vast majority of kaze0's posts, which are clearly meant for wasting people's
time trying to "solve" artificial problems and stir up controversy. I'm not sure why you think they're trying to waste people's time. I saw them as amusing O/T threads. But you're not funny.
In addition, I (the person) also use another username in which I post mostly (if not all) quite helpful
messages helping out people. I do not know if kaze0 is helpful under any other usernames. So you presume guilty.
Besides, YATArchivist - I have already backed off of flaming you (but my "apologies" were deleted with
the topics the admins deleted) - don't get me started again. Hmm, think I missed the original flames. Now, tell me: do you think you're more mature than James?

  • Error when running a very simple java program

    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: HelloWorldApp
    Exception in thread "main"
    Tool completed successfully
    I am getting the above error. I just downloaded java standard edition 1.4 sdk. I compiled the program with no errors. But when I run it . I get the above error. Is it something related to finding the package java.lang?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks.

    I have the same problem but in a different way. I download/installed jdk1.4 and J2me. I was able to run j2me without any problem following their tutorial.
    I set my config.sys to:
    PATH=C:\j2sdk1.4.0\bin;C:\j2me\j2me_cldc\bin;C:\j2me\midp1.0.3fcs\bin;
    I did compile and ran couple of programs with no problems at all, for some reason some of them give me error ex: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: NamofFile
    I read couple of posting about setting the CLASSPATH, is that maybe the source of the problem if so how I can do so given that Im using win2000. Any Ideas !!!

  • Very simple Java AWT Frame resize question

    In the following code, I create an awt Frame. Unfortunately, when I run the resulting Java application (on Windows) and use the mouse to resize the window, none of the Frame's resize/setSize methods get called. Can anyone explain why this is?
    Thanks
    Greg
    import java.awt.* ;
    public class Junk extends Frame {
    public static void main (String args[])
    Junk j = new Junk ();
    j.show ();
    public void resize(Dimension arg0)
    super.resize(arg0);
    public void resize(int arg0, int arg1)
    super.resize(arg0, arg1);
    public void setSize(Dimension arg0)
    super.setSize(arg0);
    public void setSize(int arg0, int arg1)
    super.setSize(arg0, arg1);
    }

    When the user resizes the frame with the mouse, the resizing action probably happens entirely on the Frame's peer, without the java.awt.Frame getting involved at all. setSize() and [deprecated] resize() allow an application to programmatically change the size of a Frame, but the Frame just passes the new size to its peer.
    If you want to detect when your Frame has been resized, use addComponentListener to register a component listener on the Frame, and then put your code in the componentResized method of the listener.

  • Very simple java project (help please)

    Hello. For a project I have to somehow use MouseListener to make something. My idea was to have a rectangle in which a circle (hockey puck) follows the user's mouse and whenever the user places the circle into a certain area the count goes up by one (like a game of hockey). If someone could give me some idea as to where I should start it would be greatly appreciated.
    My thanks

    This is alwyas [a good place to start|http://java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/] when you don't have a clue what's going on, and here if you need specifics on MouseListener. And to get movement, then you'll probably want to look here.
    Once you have some code and specific questions, literally almost everyone on here will be willing to help you further along the way. When you post code, please use code tags.

  • Missing Defines Error in Simple Java Stored Procedure

    Anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing the unusual behavior described below? Could it be a 10g java configuration issue? I am really stuck so I'm open to just about anything. Thanks in advance.
    I am writing a java stored procedure and am getting some SQLException's when executing some basic JDBC code from within the database. I reproduced the problem by writing a very simple java stored procedure which I have included below. The code executes just fine when executed outside of the database (10g). Here is the output from that execution:
    java.class.path=C:\Program Files\jEdit42\jedit.jar

    Jason,
    Works for me on Oracle 10.1.0.3 running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon).
    Java code:
    import java.sql.*;
    * Oracle Java Virtual Machine (OJVM) test class.
    public class OjvmTest {
      public static void test() throws SQLException {
        Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:default:connection:");
        PreparedStatement ps = null;
        ResultSet rs = null;
        try {
          ps = conn.prepareStatement("select 'TEST' from SYS.DUAL");
          rs = ps.executeQuery();
          if (rs.next()) {
            System.out.println(rs.getString(1));
        finally {
          if (rs != null) {
            try {
              rs.close();
            catch (SQLException sqlEx) {
              System.err.println("Error ignored. Failed to close result set.");
          if (ps != null) {
            try {
              ps.close();
            catch (SQLException sqlEx) {
              System.err.println("Error ignored. Failed to close statement.");
    }And my PL/SQL wrapper:
    create or replace procedure P_J_TEST as language java
    name 'OjvmTest.test()';And here is how I execute it in a SQL*Plus session:
    set serveroutput on
    exec dbms_java.set_output(2000)
    exec p_j_testGood Luck,

  • Problem with very simple 2 threads java application

    Hi,
    As fa as i'm concerned this is a thread licecycle:
    1. thread created: it is dead.
    2. thread started: it is now alive.
    3. thread executes its run method: it is alive during this method.
    4. after thread finishes its run method: it is dead.
    No I have simple JUnit code:
    public void testThreads() throws Exception {
    WorkTest work = new WorkTest() {
    public void release() {
    // TODO Auto-generated method stub
    public void run() {
    for (int i=0;i<1000;i++){
    log.debug(i+":11111111111");
    //System.out.println(i+":11111111111");
    WorkTest work2 = new WorkTest() {
    public void release() {
    // TODO Auto-generated method stub
    public void run() {
    for (int i=0;i<1000;i++){
    log.debug(i+":22222222222");
    Thread workerThread = new Thread(work);
    Thread workerThread2 = new Thread(work2);
    workerThread.start();
    //workerThread.join();
    workerThread2.start();
    //workerThread2.join();
    And
    public interface WorkTest extends Runnable {
    public abstract void release();
    And that's it..
    On the console I see 999 iterations of both threads only if i uncomment
    //workerThread.join();
    //workerThread2.join();
    In other case I see random number of iterations - JUNIT finishes and Thread1 made 54 and Thread2 233 iterations - the numbers are different every time i start the JUnit..
    What I want? Not to wait until the first one finishes - I want them to start at the same time and they must FINISH their tasks...
    Please help me asap :(

    This is very simple... Look at your code:
    workerThread.start();
    workerThread.join();
    workerThread2.start();
    workerThread2.join();What are you doing here? You start the first thread, then you call join(), which waits until it finishes. Then after it's finished, you start the second thread and wait until it finishes. You should simply do this:
    workerThread.start();
    workerThread2.start();
    workerThread.join();
    workerThread2.join();I.e., you start the 2 threads and then you wait (first for the first one, then for the second one).

    Yes, you need to add a servlet -mapping element and adjust your form to submit to the appropriate URL mapping.
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>HelloWorldServlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/servlet/Hello</url-pattern>

    but in this case there is no ejb-jar.xml.
    ( I have other cases with ejb-jar.xml file but I can't change the version in ejb-jar.xml)
    the version in web.xml is 2.4 but it not accept any value except 2.4 and an error occur when I tried to change it to 3.0
    please can you tell me why I get NullPointerException and how can I allow EJB 3.0 MDB and JMS to work in JDeveloper

    Note that you can't run MDBs in the embedded OC4J in JDeveloper - try deploying to a stand-alone install of OC4J and see if it works there.

  • Efficiency Question: Simple Java DC vs Used WD Component

    Hello guys,
    The scenario is - I want to call a function that returns a FileInputStream object so I can process it on my WD view. I can think of two approaches - one is to simply write a simple Java DC that does so and just use it as a used DC so I can call the functionality from there. Or create another WD DC that exposes the value (as binary) via component interface.
    I'm leaning on the simple Java DC approach - its easier to create. But I'm just curious on what would be the Pro-side (if there's any) if I use the WD Component interface approach? Is there a plus for the efficiency? (Though I doubt) Or is it just a 'best/recommended practice' approach?
    Thanks!
    Regards,
    Jan

    Hi Jan
    >one is to simply write a simple Java DC that does so and just use it as a used DC so I can call the functionality from there
    Implemented Java  API for the purpose mentioned in your question is the right way, I think. The Java API can be even located in the same WebDynpro DC as your WebDynpro components. There is not strongly necessity to put it into separate Java DC.
    >Or create another WD DC that exposes the value (as binary) via component interface
    You should not do this because in general WD components' purpose is UI, not API. Implementing WD component without any UI, but with some component interface has very-very restricted use cases. Such WD component shall only be a choice in the cases when the API is WebDynpro based and if you have to strongly use WebDynpro Runtime API in order to implement your own API.
    If your API does not require WebDynpro Runtime API invocations or anything else related to WebDynpro then your choice is simple Java API.
    >But I'm just curious on what would be the Pro-side (if there's any) if I use the WD Component interface approach? Is there a plus for the efficiency?
    No. Performance will be better in simple Java API then in WebDynpro component interface. The reason is the API will not pass thought heavy WebDynpro engine.

  • How to Deploy a Simple Java Web service in Oracle E Business Suite Server

    Hi,
    I have created a simple Java webservice using Jdev11g.
    I am able to Test the Webservice using Jdev11g itself.
    How Can i migrate the same to Oracle E Busienss Suite( - 9iAS ) so that webservice clients connect to 9iAS instead of my local machine
    Thanks,
    Gowtam.

    Hi Sudhakar,
    If you are used to working with ant then you can very well use eclipse to deploy your web service.
    You would usually have the ant script in the source root working directory. From eclipse if you select the build file from the navigator view and right click you will see a run ant option in the pop up menu.
    Select that option and you would be able to see each targets with a checkbox select option. So define each target maybe one for wsdl2java conversion, one for compilation and one for deploying your web services. You can either make all of them run by having depends option on or you can run them individually as it takes your fancy.
    I am not sure about debugging a web service yet.
    Hope this helps

  • Very Simple Problem-- Need help in method selection process

    Hello,
    It's difficult to explain the background of the program I am making-- but I am stuck at a very simple problem, that I can only solve with a very long block of if statements:
    I have 3 possible numbers-- 1, 2, or 3.
    Imagine two numbers are already taken-- say 1 and 2. I want a variable to set itself to the number that's not taken (3).
    So, again: If two numbers were taken say 2 or 3-- I want the variable to be sent to the other one that isn't taken-- 1.
    Thank you for your help,
    Evan.

    Actually, I'll just tell you the context of the program-- here is what I have so far:
    This program is meant to simulate Monty Hall Problem:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monty_Hall_problem
    The program sets up an array of three possible values. Each one of those values represents a door with either a goat or a car behind it. It then randomly sets one of those values to 1 (in order to represent a car as per the Monty Hall problem), and 0's represent goats.
    The user, which is simulated by the program (does not involve actual interaction), chooses a door initially.
    The game show hosts then reveals a door that is not the users initial choice, but IS a goat ( an array value of 0).
    For example if the array was [0][0][1]
    The user could pick door one (array position 0). Which is a goat.
    The game show host then reveals a goat that is not the users choice-- which would be array position 1.
    After the game show host reveals the goat-- I want the user to always switch his decision to the only other remaining door that was not his first choice.
    Then I wanted the computer to test to see if his final choice is the one with a car. And to tally up the amount of times he got it right.
    --Sorry that was long winded:

  • Very simple, but not working Table to Flat File

    I'm new to ODI, but I am having too much difficulty in performing a very basic task. I have data in a table and I want to load the data to a flat file. I've been all over this board, all over the documentation, and all over the Googles, and I can not get this to work. Here is a run down of what I have done thus far:
    1. created a physical schema under FILE_GENERIC that points to my target directory
    2. created a logical schema that points to my new physical schema
    3. imported a test file as a model (very simple, two string columns, 50 chars each)
    4. set my parameters for my file (named columns, delimited, filename resource name, etc.)
    5. created a new interface
    6. dragged my new file model as the target
    7. dragged my source table as well
    8. mapped a couple of columns
    9. had to select two KMs: LKM - SQL to SQL (for the source) & IKM - SQL to File Append (for the target)
    10. execute
    Now, here is where I started hitting problems. This failed in the "load data" step with the following error:
    +7000 : null : java.sql.SQLException: Column not found: C1_ERRCODE+
    I found a note on the forum saying to change the "Staging Area Different From Target" setting on the Definition tab. Did that and selected the source table's schema in the dropdown, ran again. Second error:
    +942 : 42000 : java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist+
    This occurred in the "Integration - insert new rows" step.
    The crazy thing is that in a step prior to this ("Export - load data"), the step succeeded and the data shows up in the output file!
    So why is ODI trying to export the data again? And why am I getting an ORA error when the target is a file?
    Any assistance is appreciated...
    A frustrated noob!

    I found the answer. But still not sure why this matters...
    Following this tutorial, I recreated my mapping:
    [http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/fusion_middleware/ODI/ODIproject_table-to-flatfile/ODIproject_table-to-flatfile.htm]
    I was still getting the same error. I reimported my IKM and found that the "Multi-Connections" box was unchecked before and now it was checked. I may have unchecked it in my trial & error.
    Anyway, after running the mapping again with the box checked, the extract to a file worked.
    So, I'm happy now. But, I am also perturbed with the function of the this checkbox and why it caused so much confusion within ODI.

  • Web pages content looks very "simple" but looks normal with IE/GC?

    Computer is running Windows 7.. with the latest firefox version. Not sure what is causing this but when I log onto Facebook, banking sites, craigslist - everything looks very simple as if there is no page layout or graphics. Some pages look more simple than others but no website seems to load properly. I've checked that the page style option isn't checked on "No style" already.
    I tried to take a screen shot of what FB looks like when I log on.
    *http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k40/naughtykobra/fbpage.jpg
    Seemed to notice the change after a Java update - so I did a system restore to before that update with no luck.
    Loaded the same websites on Google chrome and everything works fine!?

    Hi,
    You may also have to make sure that '''Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above''' is selected in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Options''' > '''Content''' > '''Colors'''. • A very very very simple question

    Hi guys,
    I have a very simple question and standard but I cant find anywhere...
    I have two dateTime variables, i need to calculate difference between this dates in days, thats it.
    I tried all functions and tried without success a Java Embed task but I couldnt retrieve this objects as java.util.Date so I couldnt calculate exactly the difference in days like this pure java code:
    (dataVencimento.getTime() - dataReferencia.getTime()) / 86400000L)
    can you help me this?

    Hi Jose
    Just see if these alternate approaches works. I know there may be lot like this and you may be lucky to find out simple out of box solution itself. If you want to solve this issue and move ahead, gives these approaches a shot.
    1. Create a very simple standalone WebService that takes 2 input date elements (can be of Date type or String type. If string type, convert to date in your java code). Create a simple operation like getDaysBetween(firstDate, secondDate). In the generated webservice impl class, use the java code apis (refer earlier link for usage), and get the difference. Return this value. NOW, invoke this WebService in your BPEL Process, and pass your 2 inputs (if the bpel payload elemetns are date object or string objects of date), and get output, and then use this output in your continuing bpel process.
    2. This approach, I did a long back. When we insert any expression using XPath, in that editor window on bottom right side, we see many categories and for each category we see list of functions we can use, like for String, we can use concat etc. I vaguely remember reading somewhere, that we can add our own custom functions also in this section. So explore this direction and see if you can add your own function and then use that fucntion with your 2 input dates.
    I have not given solution to your problem, but may be these directions can help you move ahead. Or something along these lines.
    Thanks

  • This is a very simple question,but I don't know.Please me.Thank you!

    I am a Chinese student in a university.I have a very simple question to ask.
    I have writed a EJB module,and I have deployed to Weblogic8.1 successfully.
    1.Now I want to write a client program.Is it necessary that the client program is packaged in the EJB package.For example ,the EJB package is Beans,is "package Beans " or "import Beans.*" necessary in my client program.
    2.If I only know the EJB interfaces,that means the EJB module is writed by other programer.I want to know how I can write the client program.How can I call EJB module's method writed by other programer.Could you give me a simple example?
    Thank you very much.
