Very Upset with my new iPod

I just got my iPod today and already has a scratch on it. I can't believe that it stratches as easy as it does. I didn't even use it but 2 times. I put it in my pocket with nothing in there besides the headphones and when I took it out it already has a scratch on it. I can live with my Nano having a scratch on it because it is just music, but the iPod can play video and not real enjoyable watching a video with a scratch on the screen. I can't believe that Apple can make this good of a product, but the screen (which is the main thing on the video part of the product) is such a poor product. Something needs to be done about it.

You might want to try iCleaner. I used it for my iPod (4th gen, clickwheel), it works great on both sides. The website says it supports the new iPod (video), and I don't have 5th gen iPod yet.

Problem with both the speaker and earphones?
Have you tried another pair of headphones?
Yu can try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
- Reset. nothing is lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

hi, I've got a big problem and I really need help.I used Winamp to transfer my music on the Ipod (it used to work very well with my old ipod, but it was the first time with the new one) and now everytime I start my Ipod, I have a "folder logo" with an exclamation point and the adress www.apple.com/ipod/support,and it switchs out immediatly
The problem is that I can't reboot it:
-it doesn't work with windows
-it doesn't work with "hold and menu+select" technic
and when I want to do it with my Ipod software (2.0.1) I have an error message saying "impossible to open the Ipod"

You have to first restore your iPod on a Windows XP computer before you can use it on your Windows Me computer with Winamp. And your iPod software updater also won't work with it.

How do I sync my old itunes with a new ipod?

I have just got the latest iPod Nano, after having an extremely old version (from about 5 years ago). All my music (over 800 songs) is on my iTunes account on my home computer, but this computer only has Windows XP, which is not compatible with the new iPods. If I get iTunes 10.4 on my laptop, how can I transfer all my songs from my old iTunes to my new iTunes so that I can sync with my new iPod??

Have you run it in a debugger? That will show you exactly what is happening and why.

If you want to charge a touch gen 4 or less, then absolutly (It just might take a little longer than one specifically for the touch, because of watt dierences I think). I'm not sure about gen 5

You need to upgrade the computer's OS. Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, it can't sync that device.
If it's a Core Duo Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update.
If it's a Core 2 Duo or better Mac, upgrade it as if it was a Core Duo Mac, and once done, if desired, open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, go to the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC software such as Microsoft Office 2004. If you upgrade the OS, back up the computer first.

Concluding something does not work because you fail at using it is not necessarily always justified.
The Quick Selection Tool certainly has limitations, but your post seems to be more about venting than trouble-shooting – otherwise you might have posted an image where you failed to get an expected result.

Check your Mac against hardware specs to find out what version of OS X you can upgrade to.
Then buy DVD for that version.

Yes. iTunes will recognize each iPod as unique. I am currently syncing four iPods to the same iTunes library. I use the "Sync selected playlists" option to select which music goes on which iPod.

i seem to be having an issue with my new ipod touch i just replaced my ipod 3rd gen nano with the nano all the songs from an album played together then moved on to the next i cannot get the touch to do the same it lists all the songs in a perticular album on cover flow but when i return it to an upright position a
it lists all my songs in alphabetical order and not grouped together as an album should be i have tried on itunes using the get info and listing them all as a compalation but which works as it groups them all together in cover flow but wont work when i press album in the vertical mode

Whilst upright, switch from 'playlist' mode (bottom of the screen) to artist, touch the artist name in the list, below the 'All Songs' option all your albums by any particular artist/group should be listed so long as your MP3s are tagged properly.
