[VIA] Problems with my 6200 OC installed in a KM400 mb

About 3 weeks ago I bought a BFG 6200 OC, I have installed the video on my computer, then I test the video with game like: Doom 3 and Painkiller(OpenGl games) and card worked perfect but when I tried to play games that use DirectX 8.0 or upper the only things that appeared on the screen were lines and some corrupted textures, I have dowload all nvidia possible driver but with no positive result, then some people told me that my mainboard (KM400) have some problems with some graphics cards, I update the bios, and via drivers using the live updates but I still have the problem. (I test the video card into another machine, a pcchip based board, and it works perfect).

I have a AMD Athlon XP 2200, MSI KM4M using VIA KM400 chipset, BFG 6200 OC 256mb AGP, 2 x 256 DDR266 MARKVISION , 40GB SEAGATE 7200 RPM ATA133 IDE HDD, samsung dvd/rw combo, benq 56x cd, CASE ATX SP 350 WTS POWER SUPPLY, CREATIVE SOUND BLASTER 128 PCI, I tried with all kind of nvidia drivers, I update all my machine drivers, but the problems keep, Im still reading that the km400 chip has sevral problems with some hardware, I tried with all bios configuration agp 4x, 8x, opening memory size 64, 128, 256, I test the video card with the dxdiag and works perfect with the dierectx 3d interface 7, but show the problems using interface 8 and 9, insteand of show a cube, the thing that appear on the screen looks like a pyramid with only half texture on 1 side.

I am guessing it has to do with permissions when setting up via iCloud. Here's what I did to make my apps work again after the update:

With the word 'automatically', yes you do need pulseaudio. I'm sure you could cook up some udev or related rule to do that in Alsa, but pulseaudio would be easier.

I've been using it on all of my computer without any problems. Remember you won't see any positive comments here. Everyone here is complaining about a problem. If you want a good experience with any upgrade or update first make a backup from which you can boot the computer. If you are installing an update, like 10.10.3 for example, always download and install the Combo Updater - OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 Combo Update. Before you install any update or upgrade over an existing system you should do this:Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.

Can anyone help; re: Faxing problems with my 6200 all in one

Our HP office jet 6210 which we use only for faxing and minor printing intermittenly goes crazy with blinking red and amber lights
when a fax is being received or when we are sending one. When the fax fails and we stop the blinking lights, it self tests then turns off. Sometimes when it does this we get an error message printed that says "Power Failure." The party being faxed gets 1/2 a fax or 1 page out of 5. I'll unplug it from the electric and plug it back in and then it will work fine for a day or two. We have tried faxing from the glass when we have problems and that seems to work when self-feed faing doesn't. We have not installed any drivers as this is not plugged into a computer but stands alone with it's own designated phone line.
Any ideas??? The machine is 5 years old and has never given us any trouble until now. Is it time to upgrade?

I have a new photosmart plus printer B209a CD035A and I have never been able to set up the fax, I get a message saying that the phone line is not connected to the modem, the phone is connected to my modem or I would not have an internet connection, perhaps I am not understanding it, I have the printer set up wireless now but it was wired before and I still could not set it up, I purchased it in April this year along with my new desktop Elite HPE-150f model AY603AA, using windows7 64 bit, now I have a problem with the alignment, all the fonts are cut off down each side which makes it hard to read instructions, can someone give me some help with this. The alignment problem has only just started this past 2 weeks. thanks

Problem with Photoshop CS 6 install

I have a CS6 academic license. I installed it on my laptop without difficulty. But when i installed it on the MacPro I got two error messages "Could not load actions because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered" and "could not initialize Photoshop because the preference file was invalid (it has been deleted). This sounds like a bad download but it has occurred on several different downloads.

I got a call today Akash of Adobe, in Indiana is suspect, calling about another problem with an Adobe product, Lightroom, that I was having. I'd solved that one myself so I presented my problem with PS6 installation. At this point I had uninstalled PS6 but had the application installation file was sitting on my desktop. So he had me reinstall just PS6 (all the other apps in the Wed Design Suite we already installed). After entering the suite license number, which Adobe accepted, we procedure with a standard installation procedure EXCEPT just prior to the actual installation he had me hold down Command Shift Option keys. This led to a question about deleting a file with a YES-NO option being presented. Akash had me delete it and the rest of the application was successful! I asked exactly what we had deleted and I think that he explained that it was a corrupted "Preference" file. What I realized afterwards was I was unclear if this corrupted file was from a previous attempt to install PS6 or was a corrupted file from an earlier edition of PS (my PS5 is working fine and I haven't opened PS4 in quite some time since PS5 was fine). Now, when I try to enter the serial number to install, I'm told there is a problem with the serial number and I must contact customer support. Can't get through to customer support though. Several mysterious problems with Solaris 11 x86 install

I've recently installed Solaris 11 x86 as a replacement for Solaris 9 SPARC on an Ultra 2 machine. I like the operating system, but I've promptly acquired some mysterious problems. The computer is a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo E2500 with a Pentium 4 HT 3.06 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM, an 80 GB SATA disk and a 147 GB SCSI disk.
I have had a few occasions on which the screen goes totally blank, the monitor claims that there is no signal, and I have to restart the machine. However, with the blank screen, the hard drive activity light is sometimes still flashing. This happens predictably when I try to log off (as opposed to shutting down) and when I use Totem media player and click on anything inside the Totem window. The motherboard has built-in graphics and brief specifications can be found here:

Yesterday my PS/2 keyboard started causing the motherboard to beep crazily when I use it. It beeps rapidly 4 times, then prints the expected character. However, the problem doesn't occur at the initial log in screen. The mouse cursor has also gone beserk on one occasion, flying all over the screen (I had this problem with a previous PC, but a different OS, and thought it was a hardware fault, which I why I got this new computer). With the keyboard problem, the machine is basically unusable. However, it is configured as a dual boot machine, and the keyboard problem isn't present with Windows XP.
There are also a few smaller, odd problems. Occasionally all the icons vanish from my Gnome desktop. The command prompt also mysteriously changed from $chris@pluto to $bash-4.1 just before the keyboard problem appeared, although that might have had something to do with me copying my home directory to a different disk and editing the /etc/auto_home file (moving the home directory worked fine). Also, unlike with Solaris 9 SPARC, I find that I have to have external SCSI devices switched on at boot time, should I want to use them later. That's a pain. With Solaris 9, I could run "boot -r" when I first attached the device, then switch on the SCSI devices and mount them whenever I wanted.
After the useful advice I received here about "more" and "less", I thought I'd post these problems and see if anyone can help. I'd really appreciate some advice. Can anyone identify likely causes for these problems? Which problems can I expect to solve and which do I have to live with?

Problem with external HDD after installing updates in Mac os X 10.5 leopard

Hi,
I just went out to the store and bought a copy of the leopard.
I installed it with nothing attached to the computer. Everything went fine.
When I went to update the software I had two packages there that I updates, so I had to restart the computer. when it started again it indicated that it had problems with my Iomega Ultramax 1tb disk. It says that disk repair failed and that I only have limited access to the disk. and since it's ALOT of data on the disk, I don¨t rally got the tools to copy everything to another location and then erase the disk and copy everything back. So does anyone know if there's a solution to this.
I'd be really happy to get a solution on this,

When I'm using disk utility and use "verify disk" I get the following message:
"First Aid failed
Disk utility stopped verifying "UltraMax" because the following error was encountered.
Filesystem verify or repair failed."

Performance problem with sdn_nn - new 10g install

I am having a performance problem with sdn_nn after migrating to a new machine. The old Oracle version was 9.0.1.4. The new is 10g. The new machine is faster in general. Most (non-spatial) batch processes run in half the time. However, the below statement is radically slower. The below statement ran in 45 minutes before. On the new machine it hasn't finished after 10 hours. I am able to get a 5% sample of the customers to finish in 45 minutes.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to approach this problem? Any chance something isn't installed correctly on the new machine (the nth version of the query finishe, albeit 20 times slower)?

I can't capture the execution plan on the old database. It is gone. I don't remember it being any different from the above (full scan customers, probe stores index once for each row in customers).
I am trying the query without the create table (just doing a count). I'll let you know on that one.

Here is how I created the index:

Note that the stores table is partitioned by range on store type. There are three store types (each in its own partition). The query returns the nearest store of each type (three rows per customer). This is by design (based on the documented behavior of sdo_nn).
In addition to running the query without the CTAS, I am also going try running it on a different machine tonight. I let you know how that turns out.
The reason I ask about the install, is that the Database Quick Installation Guide for Solaris says this:
"If you intend to use Oracle JVM or Oracle interMedia, you must install the Oracle Database 10g Products installation type from the Companion CD. This installation optimizes the performance of those products on your system."
And, the Database Installlation Guide says:
"If you plan to use Oracle JVM or Oracle interMedia, Oracle strongly recommends that you install the natively compiled Java libraries (NCOMPs) used by those products from the Oracle Database 10g Companion CD. These libraries are required to improve the performance of the products on your platform."
Based on that, I am suspicious that maybe I have the product installed on the new machine, but not correctly (forgot to set fast=true).

Problem with supplied OS X install discs

hey everyone-
after reading around on here, I found out that using Migration Assistant to transfer the files from my G4 were possibly hurting my performance. I'd also read that the preferred course of action in this case was to archive and install.
well, I popped in my supplied OS X install dvd (1 of 2) and selected everything I wanted to install, and clicked OK. it installed everything off of that disc fine, but when I got to the second disc, I ran into problems. twice in a row the DVD burner (sony DW_D150A, according to System Profiler) spun down when the install item "Garageband Loops" was at 73%.
after spending about 20 minutes trying to get the computer OUT of installation mode (are you reading this apple? TOTAL PITA!!) and FINALLY succeeding (simply by shutting the computer down by holding the front power button for about 6-10 seconds), I re-inserted the FIRST install DVD and restarted holding C to start from the DVD.
I changed the install settings (hopefully to omit the garageband loops), and then it occurred to me to look at the second DVD. all around it, about half an inch from the outer edge, are circular "scratches". I use that term loosely, because it doesn't appear that there are any flaws in the plastic, and it actually looks like errors on the metal film itself! I tried installing again anyway, only to have it stall at Garageband Loops yet again, but this time at only 58%.
I just wanted to see if anyone else was having problems with this? I know I didn't check the DVDs to see if they had any markings on them when I got them, wanted to see if anyone else had these weird markings on their install DVDs.

I had the same problem (though I didn't see the scratches) with either the Garageband Loops or I think there was something called System Sound Loops. Anyhow, I managed to get the install to work only after telling the installer not to install the problem file. I think Apple had a bad batch (or maybe we're just unlucky). I called support and had them send me a replacement set which I just got today.

Problems with Labivew 2013 / 14 install - Ni Variable Engine error and Labview does not close, processes do not stop when I run Vis.

I am hoping at all my problems are relateded to a problem I am experancing, when I look into my windows 7 (64bit) event viewer near every time I boot up I get an error regarding the NI Variable Engine which reads.
The description for Event ID 0 from source NI Variable Engine cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Shared\Tagger\ni_tagger_plugin_mxs.dll: Failure to load plugin: Unexpected Error: Unable to get the Interface from the plug-in.
and a second which is the same apart fomr the last line

I have tried uninstalling all labview things and I have tried repairing all labivew programs. Along with this I got this error when I installed Labview 2013 so I thougth why not try 2014 and I still get the same problems. I also shoudl point out I use bot 32 bit and 64 bit versions of labivew. I have installed labview on many machines before but never encountered this problem. That being said this was a new clean windows install.
Along with thiese errors labview heardly ever shuts down properly when I close the program it just freezes and needs forshed shut down.
Apart form this I noticed that when I run any of my Vis which I have never had problems with in the past and I stop the program somtiems processes keep using CPU such as "lktsrv.exe"
I really need to get this sorted out because its morstly the crushing and processes not stopping which is rather annoying.
I shoudl also say that these problems are both in the 32bit and 64 bit versions of labview not difference. and no difference if its 2013 or 2014

Thanks for your reply sorry I havetn noticed anybody had replied as I stopped hoping for any responce before then.
I have attached a screenshot of the four processes that seems to be giving me a problem.
I have actually managed to find the program causing labivew to crash was in fact my antivirus software which I have now removed and have no more problems with labview crashing on shutdown.
After removing it I tried the repair feature again for all my labview programs but sadly the one persistant problem remaining is still the four processes using around 13% processor each. I have found out this happens sometime after booting up regardless of if I run labivew or not. So it does not directly seem related to the running of any labview applications but rather a bug in the labview software.
the processes are:
lktsrv.exe
tagsrv.exe
nidmsrv.exe
lkads.exe
as shown in the task manager.
I would relaly help if I can get this sorted out.

Problem with wifi connection since installing Lion OS X

Has anyone had problems since installing Lion OS X with there wifi connection? I keep getting bumped off my connection in multiple different locations ....that i never had a problem before. I installed Lion on my laptop and my Mac and I am having the same problem with both. Is there something i need to change on my settings?

One way to look at this problem is to install a Stumbler program and look at what channels are being used in your immediate area. You may find the channel you are using is very busy, and switching your Router to a channel with less competition, or setting your Router to automatic channel selection, improves the situation.
Another way to address this problem, especially since it seems to correlate with software Upgrade, is to set it up from scratch again:
System Preferences > Network > WiFI/Airport > ( Assist me ) > ( Set Up ) ...
... and re-specify from scratch, especially using a New Location.
