Video conversions dont seem to be working..

So i just downloaded That Videora thing and im trying to change my .avs files to w/e it is that videora changes them too(im kinda noob) but even when im trying to click and drag the new created file it wont let me put it in the library. : ( help please!!!

Are you sure you're using Videora iPod Converter? The converted files have to be in .mp4 format; check that they are.

Firefox Embedded Quicktime Video does not seem to be working

I am having trouble with Quicktime Videos that run using the Quicktime plug-in in the Firefox browser. I am not having similar problems with Safari and much of what I have been reading seems to talk about the Flash problem (which is not the same). I am on OSX 10.4.11 (852167), kernel Darwin 8.11.1, Firefox version 2.0.0.9, and Quicktime plug-in version 7.3.
The videos I was trying to play are on the startrek.com site (specifically, http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/series/TOS/episode/68730.html then click on the "Remastered Episode Preview" link -- it is a JavaScript popup from that point). The result is a pop-up with a white box where the video should be and all of the quicktime controls at the bottom. At first it seemed intermittent (maybe one out of three times the video played). Now, it doesn't seem to work at all (could just be that I cleared the cache and it was picking that up).
I did try it with Safari and this video (and the others, of course -- that is just a test case) always works. I dug through the Apple support forum and the mozilla forum for firefox, but couldn't find anything specific to this problem.

HI and I am perplexed.
I have the newest update for Quicktime on my Powermac Yosemite, 1gb ram and Flip4Mac installed. I have configured the prefernces for both the system prefs part and the QT prefs but I can not see the video...I can hear the music which this makes the 4th time I have installed it and I finally hear it but no pictures.
I don't know what to do. I have OS 10.3.9, updated QT to the latest version, installed Flip4mac, fixed the prefs and even rebooted to the Panther 10.32 cd and used the Disk Utility to repair all hd's and repair permissions to the OS partition.
As I said I can now hear the vid but no images appear. We are trying to use the vids (.wmv) to show off our members chosen each month but the few of us mac users only get moozik...lol
I have tried .avi, .wmv and .swf, the latter I can see and hear but very choppy. In OS 9 I knew there were several codecs that needed to be installed but I thought they were installed with Panther.
The url of the movie is Stormi's Artist of the Month Video ***may contain some nudity but it is not real people it is 3d art***

Google voice and video chat plugin seems to not work with Firefox 4

Once login, I click on parameters item then Chat.
In the audio and video chat section my webcam seems not to be detected.
This works well with Firefox 3.6.
Any help is welcome :-)

Some programs and video files dont work, get a crash report everytime I close, even after an uninstall everything and re install.
So I try playing some videos and it gives me an error, which I can watch on Chrome. Soundcloud doesnt seem to work, again works on chrome, and before I could watch WebM's but now it says not supported MME. Also everytime I close I get a crash reporter. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing seems to work. I just happened recently. Also cant play soundcloud. Tried everything, feeling like going to chrome where things work and support is actual support

Protected mode works on some systems and not others. Since two of your four crash reports were related to Flash, I thought it was worth a try, but it's up to you whether you want to try it.
I'm not sure whether the issue with WebM video is a setting issue or a program files issue or a system issue.

Video conversion work on Mac OSX slows system

Hi All,
Often when I do encoding or video conversion work, I feel that my Macbook Pro isn't the same efficient machine
it was before this kinds of work. Usually before video conversions, the Macbook system works fairly quick and responds
well including much less processing (colour circle) seen.
Is there any maintenance work to do right after these sorts of video conversion works on Macbook ?
Could fixing permissions do the trick ?

What changed on your Mac between now and the time when that video conversion worked as fast as it once did?
Here are some suggestions for what to do for a slow Mac. They predate Lion, so the things that are recommended may not all still work.
By the way, your system details mention OS X 10.6.7 while you posted your message in the Lion section. Either you should update your system details or post in the Snow Leopard section.

uninstalled firefox ....deleted all files still remaining under mozilla firefox directory in program files ... to avoid having to reprogram all my settings, reisntall all addons as well .. I did not remove anything from mozilla firefox that is stored in either appdata or under the windows users directory (if any)
... the as suggested reinstalled the latest version of the firefox browser using the link you provided in the email ..; tested and several issues still remain present and unresolved ....
so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end .. Can't get video conversation to work

Hey, I'm still trying to switch from Windows to Mac.
I set up two AIM accounts and logged in on a PC and a Mac respectively.
But whatever I do, the video conversation icon just won't light up.
Does anyone have any clue?

How can I change the default video conversion applied when I copy an AVI file from my PC to my Android HTC One M8 phone?

Here's the situation...
I have an Android HTC One M8 phone which I connect via USB cable to my PC, then I use Windows Explorer to drag and drop an AVI file from my PC onto a target folder on the phone. When I would do this after I had first purchased my phone a message box
would come up with the heading "Convert and Copy" and ask me "Do you want to convert <filename> before it's copied to your device?" and give me the options "Yes, convert and copy (recommended)" or "No, just
copy Your file will be copied, but might not play on your device."
If I chose to convert it converted the file to MP4. No problem, that's what I wanted.
The problem I now have is that after doing some work with other video applications a while ago where I was outputting WMV files I now find that the default conversion for the above described copy from PC to Android phone now converts files to WMV.
I simply want it to go back to converting video files copied to my phone as MP4, but I can't seem to find where I can set this!
It appears that the copy/conversion process in Explorer is being handled in the "Portable Devices Shell Extension" dll - WPDSHEXT.DLL
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to set the default video conversion back to MP4 ???

I actually had no clue what the core problem was caused by. So it's Windows itself...that helps some.
I'll resubmit there. It might actually have saved time for it to simply have been moved to there instead of off-topic, though I suppose you have to follow protocol.

Hotshot video conversion resolution? No full screen ever?

I have the Pantech Hotshot. The screen resolution of the phone is 400wide x 240high. When I convert a video to that resolution the phone always reduces it to 320 wide instead of filling the screen to the 400 wide and makes the 240 high even smaller. If I convert the video to a larger size it makes the video on screen even smaller. The only video resolution that works decent is 320x240 which fills the screen top to bottom but leaves black bars right and left. If its the phone software that's doing it than what's the point of having a screen 400x240 if you can never view a video in that screen filling resolution? And the video player has no option to zoom or fill the screen. What is the best resolution to convert a video to view on this phone to fill the screen completely like every phone I've ever had was able to do? Thanks

I think you have not found the solution to your situation. We have a non-smartphone (Samsung u370) that, like your phone, has a screen resolution of 400x240 and, like your phone, seemingly won't play a video at the correct resolution when the video is a resolution that exceeds 320x240.
On this u370 phone while playing a video, there are icons on the screen one of which looks like an "X" with arrows at the end of each of the ends of the "X". Tapping this icons causes the video player to expand the video so that now it's playing at the full horizontal resolution of 400.
The video player on our flip phones works the same way. Our LG vx8370 has a 320x240 screen. When I play a 320x240 video, initially the video players plays the video at a resolution of 240 x something. When I push up on the directional pad, then the phone expands the video and then plays it at 320x240.
One more thing. My experience on two different Verizon non-smartphones is the same when it comes to playing widescreen videos -- when I play a video of a resolution such that I have to select the option to expand the video so that the video is playing at the full horizontal resolution of the video, the video player won't show the correct vertical resolution of the widescreen video. Instead, the video player stretches the video to fill the vertical resolution of the phone's screen. While that is tolerable to me for a 16x9 video, my preference is that I find a stretched 2.35:1 video to look unwatchable. The only way that I can preserve the aspect ratio of the widescreen video is to use a video conversion tool that lets me pad the video with blank lines. FFmpeg and mencoder are two tools that have this padding option. So this is what I came up with. Suppose I have a 16:9 widescreen video. The video would need to be about 400x224. Since the video player software on the Verizon non-smartphones will play incorrectly by showing a video stretched to fill the whole screen, I'll need to use the padding command in ffmpeg and add 16 blank lines -- 8 lines above the video and 8 lines below the video. The ffmpeg command for that is
scale=400:224,pad=400:240:0:8
ffmpeg will scale the video to 400x224. The pad command tells ffmpeg that the converted video will have a total of 240 vertical lines of which 224 are the video and 16 of which are blank lines. The "8" tells ffmpeg how to center the video -- there'll be 8 lines above the video and 8 lines below the video.
Since ffmpeg uses a command line interface, two free graphic user interfaces for ffmpeg that I like are Avanti and Pazera:

Pazera uses an older version of ffmpeg which can be updated after installing pazera by, if I remember correctly, just deleting the older ffmpeg file and replacing it with the new one.
