Video Files viewable via phone

Instead of watching shows on my laptop I'd rather watch on my phone. Is there a way to transfer the files from my laptop to my phone. Also what should I have them saved/converted to and do I need to install a specific app to view the files.

This is more complex than you realize and JavaScript alone can't do it. You'll need a server-side script like PHP to authenticate and sanitize file uploads to prevent malicious scripts or malware from ever getting to your server. Then, your script will have to process the uploaded file by saving it to a folder or database, give it a unique ID and then redirect users to a new page that pulls the file into an HTML5 or similar player. How good are you with server-side programming?

Which phone? Which version of PC Suite? Did you use the PC Suite "View multimedia" app/feature or some other app to view the videos?

Hi. I’ve set up a web form that uses html and javascript. This particular form lets you upload files. I also have another page that lets you play videos. I was wondering if anyone knows how to make the inner html of for example the upload file form field equal the file that is played by the video player on the other page.
Basically on youtube when you upload a video it automatically makes another page with the video file you uploaded assigned to the video player on that page. I want to know how to go about doing that. So people can upload videos and then be able to watch them instantly without me manually having to create the page an assigning the right file to the page.
Even just knowing how to create a different page each time the form is submitted would be helpful. Thanks.

Cann't watch or see the files received via bluetoo...

I just purchased lumia 620, and very disappointed with it... As basic features of a phone like Bluetooth, File explorer , contract and message synchroinisation with nokia pc suite (without internet).
but now nothing can be done.. My question is Can anybody tell me how to Wacth or see the video files recieved via bluetooth?? I received the files, and got the message that new files recieved, but when i searched in phone.... it is nowhere. Where these fils located???
Please give a real soulution, as i have searched on many forum.. but not a single solution.. Let my frustration be a little bit less.... PLEASE...

Thanks Barney, I tried that but all that comes up in Spotlight are the log files that show the file paths! I don't know how Steam works. Are all the files held by Steam on their server perhaps?

Drag n Drop Video File Issue - e90 Vista

Hi All,
I connect my e90 with Windows Vista 32 bit. Nokia PC Suite version is 6.86.9.0. I tried to drag a .avi video file to the phone. While dragging the issue, Nokia PC Suite asked me two options, convert and do not convert. I selected do not convert the file. After few minutes, Nokia PC Suite informed me that the file transferred to the phone. When i checked in the phone, the file was not played completely. The original file size of the video in PC was around 90 MB but in the phone, the transferred file size was 20kb Whats the issue, am i supposed to select only convert option while dragging, if that is the case, what is the reason for this option ... Hope someone will have the solution.

No, Frame refers to a Flash frame. Likely you will need to temporarily insert a caption with the current frame variable and pause the slide to determine which frame you need to go to. Then delete the caption afterwards.

Renaming Video files on Q10

How can I rename a video file in my phone? No options are available for doing so apparently. I believe there are so many flaws in this needlessly expensive phone. Someone assist me please.

Unable to upload video files via iframe in safari version 3.0

I m not able 2 upload video files via iframe in safari 3.0.
i m facing this issue when i try 2 upload a video file via an iframe.
file gets uploaded properly if i m not using iframe to upload the same.
this issue is seen only in safari version 3.0 and not in the newer version i.e (3.2.1)
do anyone has the asnwer for this problem.....???

Are you using a BT Home Hub with the IP Phone attached. This holds onto the SIP port that iChat uses. There is no way to get the router to release this port.
I had to return it all to BT as unfit for purpose and switched to Eclipse!

Nokia N8 - Sending large video files via email pro...

Hello, When I try to send a pretty large video file via email on my N8 I get the following error "Memory low. Delete or move some data from C: Phone memory." However my videos are stored on my memory card which has plenty of space so I am confused and not sure what to do
I hope someone can help me on this, any help is greatly appreciated.

My best guess would be that the N8 temporarily caches the video to C: memory when sending via Email and therefore the file size exceeds the available free memory on C:.
I'm not sure the email server will allow the sending of files larger than a certain limit anyway, so you may be out of luck if you want to send any videos via email.

I have a mac book pro, 10.9.1, (mavericks), iMovie 10.0.2. Everything in iMovie looks like it is working. It reads "recording" in the upper left hand corner of the pane while the video is playing. When I stop the process to check on my clip it says that the file is empty. The only thing that has changed since I did it successfully is that I upgraded to mavericks from whatever I had previously. My system is about one year old. Any suggestions?

     Thanks for your help! I was able to go to iMovie 9.0.9 and import video. I was still curious as to why it didn't work in version 10.0.2, so I contacted Apple tech support. They were't sure at first as to why it wouldn't work, so they had me delete iMovie 10.0.2 and then re-install it just to see if something had gone wrong when it upgraded. That didn't change anything. In the end, they determined that 10.0.2 doesn't support the Hollywood Dazzle DV bridge. But I have a workaround path from them that I will share so that it's possible to import to 9.0.9, then move it to 10.0.2.
     1. Open iMovie 9 (finder/applications/iMovie 9.0.9
     2. Import from Dazzle Bridge to iMovie 9, note which event you are importing the clips into
     3. Close iMovie 9
     4. Open iMovie 10 (probably in the dock)
     5. File/Import Media...navigate to home(this was my name, on the left side of iMovie, under Favorites)/Movies/iMovie events. Find the event folder that contains your Dazzle clips (tip-try sorting by date modified to look at recent events.)
     6. Select the clips and import. Click the blue "Import Selected" button on the bottom right.
You may get a message that some files cannot be imported. Click continue import. It's a little glitchy. It imports your clip, and also makes a copy of it, too. On the copy, the audio is normal, but the video is choppy. In any case, you would delete the copy, anyway.

I've recently purchaced a 4TB Thunderbolt drive to store my "vast" music and photo libraries. iPhoto had an issue reading the moved library, so I bought and used iPhoto Library Manager to "rebuild" it. Apart from much of the original data such as date taken & camera used etc, it appears to be working well. The aforementioned mpg video was taken some 9 years ago, using an early model "iMate" smart phone, and opens and plays fine on iPhoto, but I cannot open it with anything else, (I've tried iMovie, VLC players, Wondershare and Handbrake) nor can I share it. I just want to edit it, and share it with family.
Any help would be appreciated...

I've looked at the "tell me more" links, tried downloading some of the movie players there. I'm begining to think the file is corrupt.

IPhone 4S keeps playing audio from a video file that is no longer on my phone.

If I'm listening to music and try to change tracks or pause with the earbud buttons the music fades out and starts playing audio from a video file. It will only play about 3-4 seconds and then stop. This also will happen when double clicking the home button to try and change tracks. When I do that the track skipping buttons won't work and there's no title for the short bit of audio that plays. The only way to get music to start playing again is to go into music and press play again. The music I had been listening to is sitting there paused. The audio from the mystery video file still sometimes plays even when you're in music and the only way you would know is the little play icon at the top right part of the screen. I have removed every video off of my phone and it still does it. This is really frustrating.

Sounds like a bad battery. You'll need to bring the phone into Apple for evaluation.
I'm sure you've been using your phone as designed and properly backing up your data, so you should have minimal, if any data loss should the phone need to be replaced.

Satellite C50-A-15L: unable to play music or video files via media player

Hi all
I am having problems with my media player and explorer functions all of a sudden - it seems to have occured after a recent 'important update' (always causes more issues than fixes).
Anyway, since this update, I have been unable to play any music or video files via the media player or cut and paste any items when sorting files out.
All fine previously, but now when I highlight and click 'cut', the timer cuts in and the window goes straight to 'not responding'. Drag and drop works OK, then going back to delete files.
As for media files, double click one and no response, right click and 'open', again, nothing...
Anyone else experienced similar problems?
Of know of a fix or patch?

From my point of few you have no problems with notebook but with Microsoft system.
"Hotmail" isnt Toshiba product.
If you have problems login the Hotmail account, you should contact the Microsoft support for help.
By the way: you can always set the system back to early time point before you received any updates.
Windows 8 creates a restore point for you automatically during Windows Updates and other system maintenance events.
Open charm bar (Win key + c), choose Apps and search for Restore Point. Then click on Settings. On the left hand side you will see the option called Create a restore point.
New window would open. Within the System Protection tab choose System restore.
Clicking on Next would lead to next step where you could restore the computer to the sate it was before the selected event (windows update).

The file name only has 6 characters and I'm not sure what the .mod format is. So that's why they are not seen by the iPad.
Another way to transfer. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)
