Video Podcast "watch"' vs. "listen" link

When I create a video pod cast, each entry has a "listen" link. Is there any way to change that to "watch" since it is a video podcast? Preferably without editing the code by hand.

Syncing Video podcasts, watched episodes coming up as new?

Hi all, have the new iphone 3g and have one very annoying problem. I've done a search and can't find any solutions. Is this a known problem from apple?
I subscribe to several video podcasts. I watch them on my iphone and then after doing a sync, they show back up on my iphone as unwatched. This is really annoying as when I got to watch some again I have to go through all these episodes I've already watched.
I've tried different settings in the podcast sync settings as "all new" or "3 most recent new" but still the source of the problem seems to be itunes will mark these watched episoded as unwatched.
Can anyone help me? I'm running latest version of Itunes and Iphone firmware.

Anyone know how I can fix this? Its driving me mad!

Problem with Video Podcasts

Hey, I have been looking at the Video Podcasts recently, wanted to download a couple, but everytime I try, nothing. Regular Podcasts are okay, but I like to see what the BBC is talking about. Oh, I have the Nano 3G 8GB. I think that is how I should write it.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I doubt its an outright glitch, I'm sure its designed this way as an oversight.
i.e. The iPod app assumes that Podcasts are audio, and that any 'Podcast' that is video will be accessed through the 'Video' button.
I know that this is a point of contention for me, since I have both audio and video podcasts that I listen/watch through the 'Podcasts' section of iTunes, so I figure I would do the same on the iPhone. (I don't have a video iPod, so I don't know how it works on there.) I have a few TV shows synced to my iPhone, as well as a movie, and all of my music videos. My Video section is a little cluttered to be constantly needing to scroll to the bottom of the video list for my latest video podcast episodes, when there is a perfectly good 'Podcasts' button to be tapped!
I must say that I do like the fact that you can play music videos as if they were just songs in the music section, though. I have a few songs that I only have as a music video, not as just plain audio, so they wouldn't sync to my 3G iPod or iPod nano. In Front Row on my Mac, I have been able to play them as 'music' in addition to as a video, so I appreciate being able to do that on the go now, too.

I don't understand. If having service in your home IS important to you and you already know Verizon's policy, why have you not instead started to search for carriers which cover your home? It seems a pretty easy decision to me, at least.

Clicking links in video podcasts no longer works

Until recently I have been able to click links in video podcasts and they opened the link in my default browser, Safari, 3.x. Starting about 2 - 4 days ago this same mouse action would only start and stop the podcast.

The videos play in iTunes without trouble... Shouldn't that indicate that they should play on the iPod?
Also, I know that the podcast format has not changed - I am actually the one that produces the podcast. I subscribe to be sure they are posting correctly.

Yes, it's sad that I produce/post the podcast and don't know any more about it than this, but at this point, I'm trying to determine if something is wrong with the way they are being done (which has not changed at all) or something goofy is going on with iTunes and/or my iPod.

Watched Video Podcasts Not Showing As Watched

Video Podcasts that I've definitely watched from beginning to end on my iPod Touch are not showing up in iTunes as being watched. I know this for sure because I have a smart playlist in iTunes called "Unwatched Podcasts" which basically lists all the video podcasts that have a play count of 0. Why is my iPod Touch not incrementing the play count by one when I watch these podcasts?

Actually, they are. I don't know if it only works if you play the video podcasts with the iPod Touch docked, but if I let the video podcasts run all the way to the end, automatically returning me to the Videos menu, then yeah the play count goes up and when I sync those podcasts are removed from my Unwatched Podcasts playlist. Good stuff.

Watch my video podcasts in a row all on full screen

I used to watch all of my video podcasts in a row and itunes would go from one to the next and show them in full screen. Now each next video is back in the corner and I have to click full screen. I do have my preferences set to show in full screen. Thanks for any help.

1) You'll need to put them in a playlist. Tell apple you want this changed.

I am dowloading video podcasts I'd like to watch on my television

Fifth generation Ipod, and I'd like to watch video podcasts on my television like I do with other downloaded video content(movies, tv shows, etc)...but I can't get them to project as I do the other mediums...there isn't that "tv out" option.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Look on the Videos menu, under *Video Podcasts* . They're in there, not in the Movies section! On the Videos menu you have:

- Movies
- Music Videos

(On the 5th generation iPod) a video Podcast will appear on both the *Video Podcast* menu and the Podcast menu. However - if you try to play it _from the Podcast menu_ you will only get the audio! One last thing, if anyone tells you otherwise, ask them if they are using an iPod Classic. On the Classic you can watch a video Podcast from the Podcast menu. (I use both a 5th gen and a Classic and I watch video Podcasts, that's how I know!)

Can no longer watch video podcasts in potrait mode

Hi I recently upgraded my iphone 4 to the latest software 4.3.2. However after doing this all the video podcasts on my phone no longer show in potrait mode, only landscap mode. Not that I really mind normally but I use potrait mode to be able to email video postcast clips automatically to friends. Now because I can no longer get the videos to show in potrait (no matter how i change the orientation of the phone the video stays in landscape) i no longer have access to this menu or the 30 second rewind feature. I have checked the orientation lock and i have also removed all videos and re added them (this happened to me when i upgraded to 4.3.1 and removing the videos and re adding them fixed this issues). Any insight would be grateful.

I have the exact same problem can anybody help us?? But I can not loose any of my videos as I have loads of videos on my college work on student loans without cosigner and it would take me forever to do them again.

Cannot download or watch old or new video podcasts after iTunes directory reorg

I just installed itunes 10.6.1.7. on a new PC connected an external hard drive containing my itunes library and pointed to my library on an external hard drive. That seems to have worked fine except for the issue described below.
I also did reorganization of my library structure via "organize library" menu option. The reorg left all video podcasts in the old podcast folder and will not let me copy them to the new podcast folder. I have podcasts that are all video podcasts and some that are mixed audio podcasts and video podcasts. In both cases the video podcasts remained in the original or old folder location. In the case of the mixed video and audio it just left the video episodes in the old folder and moved the audio podcasts.
If I select a new video podcast from the itunes store and download it, I cannot view it in itunes. An example of a new video podcast I attempted to download is "MinutePhysics". The podcast will display as one of my podcasts in itunes but the file or episode has a "GET" button next to it and never shows it as available to view in itunes. It looks like it is downloading to my hard drive but after it downloads I cannot locate the file in any directories.
In Advanced Preferences on the Advanced tab I have checked and unchecked "Keep iTunes Media folder organized" and that does not make a difference checked or unchecked.
The video podcasts are not in movies or in tv shows. All music is present and accounted for that I know.
How can I restore all video podcasts previously downloaded and view them on itunes or an ipod?
Can I create a video podcast option in itunes?
Please help.

Issue solved - It turns out that the QuickTime version on my PC was 6.5 and I needed to update to version 7.6 or higher to allow videos to play in iTunes. I updated to QuickTime version 7.7 and then added the old podcast folder to iTunes while in podcasts. This found all video podcast content and then the auto reorg moved all folders to the new podcast directory. For the videos I manually moved earlier, I had to move (not copy) them back to the old directory or folder then add that old folder and they were now in the right directory and viewable in iTunes. Video Podcast Won't Play

Hi all, have a 1st gen 5G iPod 60G
Only until these few days I (re)started to subscribe to some podcasts, including video podcasts like the new NGC World Music, NASA videos, Happy Tree Friends, etc
They all play absolutely fine on iTunes on my mac, but when I try playing them on my iPod, they just play like normal regular podcast, NO video, an "album art" is displayed and I hear the audio, very much like listening to any music.
All the video podcasts seem to be like that; I however can play all the TV shows that I have bought from the store.
So how do I get to watch the video podcast??

Need an option to filter video podcasts out in the regular podcasts menu

The problem is that when you have a lot of podcasts, both video and audio, it is easy to focus in on only the video podcasts but when you are viewing the regular podcasts menu it shows both video and audio only podcasts. I find that I am spending a lot of time trying to remember which ones are audio only when scrolling through my list because I don' t want to listen to only the audio of a video podcast and have it marked as listened to already. Some video and audio version have similar names but different content, such as the NYTimes David Pogue tech reviewer has both an audio and a video podcast and they ARE different content. I'm sure that I am not the only one who has wished there was a way to separate the audio only podcasts from the video ones in the podcast menu.
My proposal...that as many people as possible submit a feature request to Apple to add an option in the iPod settings menu to show only audio podcasts in the podcasts menu. Yes, smart playlists could be set up (and I tried it for a while) but then you loose the blue dot that reminds me of which episode I am on so I wasn't happy with that approach. Both CM and P6 needs to be configured using there respective admin utility to interact. Most important part is generation of Encryption key. It should be same for both. Once that is done, restart CM server and P6 server and you should see the link enabled :)

Ipod 5 can't upload or play some of my video podcasts

I have been watching Photoshop TV and loving it. Now i want to watch TheInDesigner video podcasts but I can't get them to upload to my ipod.
I can listen to audio podcasts of this show but all the video versions are a no go. I have them loaded up on my itunes (they play fine on my computer) but they will not upload to the ipod. I have tried restarting the ipod and trying manual uploading.
Do you think that these podcasts can't be played on the 5th generation Video ipods? Is it a compatability problem?

Playing video podcast problem

Hello-
I am trying to play video podcasts on my itunes. So far no success. The video starts but is nothing but scrambled colors (mostly purple). audio is fine. Anyone can help?

I just started having this problem on Friday afternoon, with no changes to my system information. Most of the video podcasts just show their album cover (if available) while playing the audio without video.
I also have a similar problem that could be unrelated, but might give some insight into the cause of this problem.
Before this I've noticed that as podcasts finalized download in the queue the video and audio in the pocast I was listening to or watching would stop, for as much as 10 seconds, while iTunes processed the podcast and brought it into the Podcast window. Once it was there and nothing was being downloaded everything was fine.
