Video to 5G i-pod

Hi All,
I had managed to put "converted" Video on to the i-pod, it was muxed and so had no audio, I decided to remove all video from i-pod and then re update. I therefore removed the video from i-tunes and did a complete update successfully with all music being successfully transferred. I then converted the video using PQ DVD to I-Pod Video Suite software and succesfully added to the files library in i-tunes. All seemed set for a simple total update of the i-pod to add the video.
This is where my problem has occurred. The "update" does not transfer the video which is obviously in the file library of i-tunes. Upon closer examination I have noticed that where previuosly in "Prefences" for i-pod within i-tunes there was VIDEO tab there is no longer one, it only has MUSIC, PODCASTS, CONTACTS and CALENDARS. Also I remember a check box somewhere that was I think for "Update Videos". I cannot find this anywhere and suspect that if I could it would solve the problem. I have tried to manually drag and drop video but without success.
I have performed reset but not yet restore as I see this as a last resort and all my music will have to be reloaded.
Can anybody please help me out as I now effective have a Video i-pod that will not accept Video.

Is the software on the iPod and computer up to date?

Update iPod's Software
Also, are you connecting the iPod to the computer via a USB port on the computer or through a USB hub?
Have you tried a different USB cord?
The computer is not recognizing that your iPod is able to play videos, which is why they are not being transferred. The checkbox you refer to was in the Videos tab (in preferences).

Video quality - is my pod sick :(

I think Ive noticed, and this is only after shutting off the "Surface" episode I bought from Itunes, that the video quality just stinks. I couldnt even finish because the pixels and terrible gradients were killin me. I went back to my "Lost" episodes and dont know if im just seeing things or my ipod video is getting worse.? DOES anyone else have this pixey pod problem??

Is this only the Surface episode? If the Lost episodes are fine, then I would say it is a problem with the file.

Loading Videos Onto my I-pod. I need Help

Everytime I drag some videos from my "Video section" onto my I-pod on the left side it says that My I-pod cannot play it. What is wrong it is a fifth gen I-pod video... I don't understand why it wont play videos please tell me what to do.
Also whenever I try to drag videos from my desktop (after converting them to i-tunes files of course) to my I-pod in I-tunes nothing happens.. please help me!

I finally managed to convert a video file and put in on my I-pod.... Now I don't have the sound that is suppose to come with it !! Why ?

Putting Videos on to I-Pod

Hello all, firstly i must hold my hand up and admit im not the worlds greatest computer user. I have recently purchased the 30g video i-pod i have got all my cds on it now and am pleased with it. However can i put dvds on to it in the same way? Just banging it in and clicking import??? If so how much can you put on, i.e a full film or just short sketches?
Im using windows XP.
Be thankfull of any advice.

Problem with video screen on I-pod Video?

Ok,the video screen has went completely wonky....There's no picture at all,the top half of the screen is like a grey colour and the bottom half is like a really light grey,almost white and the bottom half has got these Black blotches over it and some lines going up,kinda looks like cracks but i felt the outside screen and can't feel any cracks on it...Could the LCD screen be cracked on the inside and would that totally distort the whole screen from me seeing anything.
I can still hear music,it's just nothings coming up on the screen so i'm assuming that it's the LCD screen that's the problem,not the i-pod itself!

I liked the idea of this app so I went looking for it and have now installed it on my Mac, iPhone and finally my iPad.

Via your computer's iTunes - you can't connect an iPod to an iPad, so you will need to sync your music to the iPad via your computer's iTunes. If your iTunes purchases are no longer on your computer then you should be able to copy them back from the iPod via File > Transfer Purchases

Video Playback on v-pod

I have created several short videos using Quicktime Pro (exported to iPod). Usually I have two or three videos in a single playlist.
When I play a playlist the first time, the videos usually display. However, on subsequent plays, I get the play arrow but a black screen. Then the display switches back to the menu.
Any ideas on how to fix this? It is 100% reproducible, however, not necessarily with the same videos. Sometimes they play, sometimes not. Seems to be worse after I have played several.
I am using v. 1.0 and this has happened since I got the iPod last October. The latest updater screwed up everything and I restored to the previous version.

I suggest that you get the program videora. It is a freeware and it works just fine for converting your videos and putting them on your ipod. I tried quicktime and it caused me nothing but problems so i got videora and it works wonderfully.
One thing you should know is that, if your video's name is too long, it will not convert it, you have to shorten the name.

Videora works okay, but has MAJOR sound/video syncing problems and can't convert a widescreen movie. Everything gets pushed to 4:3 (same thing with ImToo video converter. Here's what I have learned: Use Neros Reencoder 2 (comes with Nero package, which I already had but is expensive if you don't). Reencode the movies to Nero Digital, choose resize to 320x240 and in the burn options, select simmple movie (quicktime compatibility). It works 95% of the time

I Pod Video Error

I have a I Pod 5th Gen, Latest iTunes 7 and the pod is updated to the latest software. I recently got an error and all my music videos have dissapeard. When i open my iTunes i can see the video files in my pod but they are being detected by the pod as only music files (the little box indicatin that the file is a video file is not showing). I tried formatting my i pod but this problem occurs again and again. I use Videora Converter to convert all my music videos. The songs play properly for some time and then suddenly again the videos dissapear. is this because of some virus that came into my pod through the computer? or is it something wrong with the settings on my pod?

I am using a Mac G5, and my iTunes is version 7.0.2
I have movies on my computer that are .mpeg
I used a converter, and put it in iTunes, and got no sound from the movies. Then I put the .mpeg movie into iTunes, and converted it with iTunes. Yet again, no sound on my iPod. The movies I downloaded with iTunes sound fine, and my music sounds fine.

Converting videos to play on I pod

hi I am trying to put videos on my I pod touch but I am experiencing problems. Firstly when I put the videos in my library they play on the pc but not on the I pod. Checked the help pages and tried the right click convert option which let's me play the video on the I pod but without any sound which is so annoying. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong or how I can get the sound on my videos? Thanks guys...

iTunes uses quicktime for video playback/conversion.
Quicktime does not like muxed files(audio and video are one track), so you get only video.
Use a third party converter, I recommend MPEG streamclip found here: http://www.squared5.com/

Can not open video in e mail

I took a video with my i pod and sent it to my PC and My sons PC,we both can open and see the video,BUT I can open it on my i pod?

What video software are you using?
What type/kind of video are you trynig to view?
