Video to Multiple ATV2's

Just a quick question for all of the Apple TV guru's out there, and, if this has been covered already, i apologize. i did search but found nothing of what i was asking
I have 3 apple TV's in my house. Can I push a video to all 3 apple TV's at the same time?
I dont mean stream it from 3 Apple TV's. I know that will work.
What i want to do is start the video on my iMac, and, have the video playing in all rooms at the same exact spot of the video. It's a long story on why i want to do this, but, I was just wondering if it can be done. I hope I'm explaining this correct.
Any help that anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated

That's not possible I'm afraid.

Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days.

  • How to setup Compressor to create video from multiple sequences within FCP?

I am wondering how I can set compressor up to create videos from multiple sequences within FCP. When I click file -> export - > compressor for a sequence and go into the program, it doesn't allow me to go back into FCP. I just get a spinning beach ball. Is there no way to set it up so I can prep a bunch of fcp sequences within compressor and then click submit and walk away? I have over 100 sequences that need to be exported so it would be a little difficult to do this one at a time. Thanks.

    Batch processing
*Step one. Make sure everything in every sequence is rendered.*
*Step two. Make a folder somewhere and name it something relevant.*
*Step three. In FCP select all you sequences that you want to compress and right click (option), choose Batch Export from the contextual menu.*
*Step three point one. In the batch export window click on settings and choose the folder you made in step two for the destination. Make sure Make Self-Contained is not check and include Audio and Video.*
*Step four. Click export in the batch window.*
Once that is done you can close FCP.
    Now in Compressor
*Step five. Make a setting that will give you the output that you want (mpeg2, AC3, h.264, whatever). Make a destination for where you want to save the output.*
*Step six. Make a droplet from the settings you made in step five.*
    You can quit Compressor now.
*Step seven. Take the files that you batch exported from FCP in step three and four and drop them on the droplet you made in step six.*

  • Video across multiple slides

hi, is there any way i can get any version of keynote to play video across multiple slides, i have a looping starfield video that i want to play behind the whole of a pretty complex award show presentation, due to each slide already having 58 builds its not preally practicle to have all the stuff merged into one slides so video behind the full show is really my only option
    Many thanks
    Ben

No it is not possible to have a movie play across multilple slides in Keynote. But there might be a workaround. Is the final video going to be automatically playing where you have preset all the timing or are you going to be clicking through it as you go?
If you are going to time everything out and then just have it play, one option (which I have never tried) would be to make the background of all the slides green. Then export to iMovie and use the Greenscreen feature to put the lopping starfield video behind it. Like I said, I have never tried to use the greenscreen feature, so I have no idea how well it will work, but would be worth a try.

  • Splitting single video into multiple files - workflow improvements?

I regularly need to split a single video into multiple separate files that are used by other programs.  I'm using Premiere Pro CS4 for a number of reasons including the ability to easily and accurately select a scene by individual frames, native audio and video effects/filters, and the ability to import and export various video types.  I'm open to using other tools, but I haven't yet found one that is even close to Premiere Pro when it comes to accurately selecting split points.
I'm not a Premiere Pro expert.  I have been doing this for about four months and have read many resources (books, forum posts, help guides) to refine the workflow I'm currently using.  My question:  does anyone know any improvements that might save me time/keystrokes.
    Current workflow:
    I've bound F8 to File > Export > Media
    Import video file
    Open in source monitor
Set In and Out points for scene in source monitor
Ctrl-drag from source monitor to Project Panel (creates a subclip)
    Repeat 3 and 4 for all scenes/subclips
Select all subclips from Project Panel and drag to timeline
Set work area bar to first subclip in timeline by the following four keystrokes:  Home, Alt-[, PageDown, Alt-]
Type F8 (File > Export > Media shortcut).  Type output file name, click OK and the first subclip is put in the AME queue
For the remaining subclips, type: Alt-[, PageDown, Alt-], F8, output file name, OK and repeat until done
    Any thoughts/ideas on workflow improvements?
    Thank you!

    Thank you Hunt.
For the sake of brevity, I didn't include all of the details about the various aspects of the projects.
Early on I was doing what you suggested and yes, it is a little quicker.  I learned (painfully) a couple of months later that I sometimes have to go back and adjust the clips and this method (trim to timeline with no subclips) resulted in quite a bit of duplicate effort (to reobtain start/stop points).  I've since learned that managing the "scenes" as subclips in topical bins allows me to go back and make adjustments, long after I've totally forgotten about the project content, without a lot of unnecessary reworking.

  • Multiple atv2 controlled by one computer

    I hope this makes sense.
I am working on a project and require some information. I have 10 LCD displays that are used a a public broadcast system - to display announcements important notices (for a school). Currently we use PowerPoint to do this but when we upgraded the screens no thought was given to HD requirements of the LCD screens. As a result the slide being generated are blurred due to the video card output being low res.
Atv2 is a potential solution as it will broadcast media in HD using existing infrastructure. I was hoping to use the apple tv 2 to broadcast a keynote presentation (as yet not available) and have managed to export keynote slides as jpegs and put them into slide show albums in Iphoto. The slides show up very nicely but each time I update or add a new slide I have to go to each apple tv and have it "re sync" with the computer to update the photo file. This must been done individually at each apple tv (so essentially 10 times). So my questions are
Does anybody know if I can control 10 atvs from iTunes on an iMac to start up a slideshow rather than going to each atv station to "recache" the photo library? Alternatively can I start a video (again on multiple atvs) from the computer station rather than going to each atv to start the stream with the remote?

I'm sure that you will be able to find a way to make this work.
I haven't looked at putting together slideshows and playing them on the atv, but I believe that it can be done. I'm not sure how it works and I think it is controlled from the individual atv.
Probably the best solution would be to make it into a video and then, if Airplay does what I believe it should next month then you should be able to use that.
It can be controlled from a remote on iPhone or iPad and you can control which sets will get the video.
The only concern I would have is whether ten streams would clog your network, but I'm not sure how Airplay works with this (whether it sends out 10 individual streams or one stream to multiple devices. It would still take up quite a bit of bandwidth though.
    HJope that helps.

  • Export video from multiple iOS devices to a Mac without using iTunes

I am tasked with importing video files from multiple iPads to a single Mac to aggregate for editing.
The file sizes on each device are many gigs large. I don't want to use iMovie on the Mac or iOS.
I don't want to use iTunes (since there are many iPads not owned by me to import video from).
    Suggestions?

iTunes. Other than that there is no direct method. However, do try the iPhone forums.

  • Video Quality on ATV2

I have both an ATV1 and ATV2. For the ATV1, I created video files using Handbrake from home recorded DVDs. I'd make 2 versions of the files, 1 for sync'ing to iPhone/iPod, and 1 for ATV1 (higher quality). I notice if I play the higher quality (i.e. larger) files on ATV2, the video is poorer with vertical lines in it. The iPhone (smaller) files produce better video on ATV2. However, the video quality on the ATV2 is well below watching them on the iMac monitor. Anyone have any recommendations on a better way to create videos for ATV2 from DVDs instead of Handbrake?

To jump in I'm in the same boat. I've been ripping DVD's with HB for years and just updated 2 AppleTV's to the latest models. So I have two ATV2's and one ATV1. The picture quality from all the HB movies on the ATV2 is really bad. I've tried to rip a DVD several times with HB 0.9.4 and the new version 0.9.5 with different presets like ATV2 in HB but the pic quality still stinks. Also using HB 0.9.5 to rip a movie and trying to watch in on ATV1 causes the ATV1 to freeze and crash.
Sooo *** is going on, I loved the quality and ease of HB and ATV1, now I have ATV2, which is cool with Netflix, but not if all my movies are going to look bad.
    Anyone figure this out yet?
I'm going to plug in my ATV1 into the same TV and see if the pic quality changes from the ATV2, but there must be a way to get a better quality picture without having to reconvert all your movies, I hope.

  • IPhone "live" video to multiple AppleTVs?

Is there a way to stream live video that is being recorded from an iPhone to multiple AppleTVs that are all on the same Wi-Fi network?

    No.

  • Podcast video streaming on ATV2 freezes

We stream vodcasts from my iMac to my ATV2.  Works fine except sometimes the picture freezes but audio keeps going.  After a few seconds the video unfreezes and jumps to where the audio progressed.  This only happens with vodcasts and never with movies.  It happens with both my Mac and PC.  Curious to know why?

  • CP5 Freezing when editing video over multiple slides

Captivate continuously freezes when I'm working with a video that I've spread over multiple slides.
This is a Windows 7 computer.  I've cleared my cache incase that had something to do with that.
    Any help would be apreciated.
    Susan

    Which version?
Some ideas: background music for the file, to stop on slides 1-2 and 21-23.
VO as slide auido on slides where wanted.
For slide 2: object audio which can play parallel with the VO (see http://blog.lilybiri.com/audio-objects-control-them)
For slide 21-23: object audio with object displayed for the rest of the project, and hidden on entering slide 24

  • Export Video with Multiple Audio Tracks

I need to be able to export video with audio on multiple tracks. I have moved to CS6 from FCP 7 where this was rather easy to do. I can make a preset in AME with more than enough mono tracks but after the encode the video is always smashed to one mono track. I am not doing a 5.1 mix, there are different mic's on each track that need to remain independant of one another and mixing them down within Premiere is not feasable. Are there no options to just have the audio 'pass through' like Compressor? Sorry if there are other posts but I have been searching forever and can not find a simple answer on this topic.
Also, is there no way to have the source timecode burn in? Putting a filter on the video in a sequence is unacceptable, I am very displeased to find that this doesn's seem possible in AME or Premiere, it has been part of Apple's suite for years.
Example of my preset from Compressor:
    Name: Apple ProRes 422 (Proxy)
Description: QuickTime movie with Apple ProRes 422 (Proxy) and audio pass-through
    File Extension: mov
    Estimated size: unknown
    Audio: multi-track pass-through

              Width: (100% of source)
              Height: (100% of source)
              Pixel aspect ratio: Default
              Crop: None
              Padding: None
              Frame rate: (100% of source)
              Frame Controls: Automatically selected: Off

    Hi James,
For exporting a multitrack .wav file, you have to start a project with a multichannel audiomaster (3-16 tracks).
Copy and paste your complete edit to the new editsetting.
Now in the audiomixer you can route your audiolayers to the multichannel you like.
(CH1+2 pan to left is channel 1, pan to right is channel 2 and for a stereo track pan to center : channel 1 for left and channel 2 for right.)
Then you export your project to a 3-16 tracks multitrack .wav file.
When you need mono tracks you can import your multitrack .wav file in premiere. Then send it to Audition (edit in Audition) and then adobe will convert the file into mono tracks.
You'll find the mono tracks in your audio capture folder or can premiere search for then by 'reveal in explorer'.
The multi track .wav file has got timecode within the file.
When exporting in QT you can also choose for a multitrack audio file. It also contains your timeline timecode.
.avi or .mp4 video files cannot be exported with more than 5.1 channels of audio
MXF OP1a in XDCAMHD can also be exported with max. 16 channels of audio. It also contains your timeline timecode.
Hopefully you can get further with Premiere Pro with this info.
    Succes with it!!
    gr. Mano

  • Burning a Video Across Multiple DVDs Easily?

I have a big compilation of old tapes I imported into an iMovie project. I want to burn the clips onto DVDs readable by DVD players (so MPEG-2), but there are >14 hours of pretty uncompressed video there. I could, of course, chop the movie into parts, but then it's hard to judge how big the pieces should be because the file size on the DVD will be much smaller than my current DV files.
Is there a program or a method to easily burn one big movie file across multiple DVDs by chopping it so each DVD is filled?

You need to edit them properly in iMovie into individual movies of max length 90 minutes or so, then burn each one in iDVD.
The idea of using multiple DVDs for a single 14 hour movie won't work.

  • I would like to create a movie with with video from multiple windows playing simultaneously

I would like to make a movie that shows multiple videos playing at the same time but in separate windows (kind of like the intro to the Brady Bunch?).  How can this be done?

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities
I would suggest using Apple's Pages which allows support for imbedding videos from the device's camera roll. Pages also allows for sharing via email, Air Drop, and Messages.
