Video transmitting over TCP, and play

Hi all
I have to build a video chat application.
I want to get video data from a webcam, compress the data, send the compressed data to a TCP port of a server (live).
Then the second user is connecting to the server, the server send them the data (live), and the user has to be able to play the video.
How can I do that?

Dear Waseem, i am also using AVTransmit and AVReceive for transmittig audio and video over\ a network.
Now problem is how can give the address of audio i.e. javasound://44100 when i have already given the address of video i.e. vfw://0.
So how can i transmit audio at the same tim when using webcam.
thanks.

  • Flash Video Won't Open and Play in Online Site

When I upload my Flash Video files to the online server, the HTML page opens but the Flash Video doesn't open and play.  If I open the HTML page in preview mode in Dreamweaver CS5, the HTML page opens and the Flash Video plays OK.  I have tried using the Adobe Media Encoder to produce the FLV file as well as tried exporting the FLV from Adobe Premiere CS 5.5, but neither makes any difference.  The Flash Video still doesn't play when files are uploaded to the site online.  I have also tried using different versions of Flash Professional to create and publish the SWF movie file, but nothing I try seems to make the Flash Video open and play online.  The test site I have set up is http://www.hgatest.org then you can click the “video” link to open the Flash Video. Video HTML page URL is http://www.hgatest.org /video.html   You can then see what I am talking about.  Please help.  This just started happening about 6 months ago and it has been driving me crazy.  Any ideas will be helpful.  Thanks, Joe K.

  • Downloaded videos will not open and play

downloaded videos will not open and play, both HD and SD.

Try VLC Media Player.  It has a reputation for playing just about anything you throw at it.

  • Is it possible to remove a video from a window and play it separately?

I'm trying to watch a live stream from a website. Unfortunately all the other information on the website is useless to me. Is there a way that I could remove the video player from the browser and play it on its own? If not, is there a way that I can make the video larger without sending the video into full screen? I disable the other boxes from showing on screen, but still the video is too small.
Please note that the stream is completely legal and paid for.

Okay, that's what I figured. I had zoomed in on the browser before, but I was just curious if there was a more elegant way to enlarge the player. Thanik you for your help!
Maybe this is something Adobe can look into (popping the player out). It'd be very useful for those of us in the corporate world who need to watch the news or tickers without having to be stuck on the browser. Yes tabs are available, but then it obscures the video. A stay on top tool option would be useful as well.

  • Is there any way to download music videos from You Tube and play them on a 2nd generation Nano?

I want to play you tube music videos on my IPod. I can download them as MP4 but it will not accept them. Does anyone know what file format I could use to get music and video? I know I can convert them to MP3 and play them on IPod. I want to play the music videos too.
    Does any one know? JEKjoy

Have you been able to successfully import these videos into iTunes?  If so, use iTunes built in converter to convert it to a more iTunes friendly format. To do this, highligh the video and choose "Create iPhone or iPod version" from the Advanced drop down menu in iTunes.
When it has finished converting, try syncing the new version to your Nano.

  • IPod and Videos:  How to Update and Play

My brother just got a new iPod. Upon synchronization the iPod was updated with his music but not his videos. Basically all of videos are movie trailers. What does it take for iTunes to take them into account when updating the iPod? And will any video (let's just limit to movie trailers for starters) play properly on it?
At this point I have to say that right out of the box the iPod was "paired" to my PB's iTunes and it did play videos then. Then, after some struggling, I managed to restore the iPod to the factory settings to pair it to his HP Pavilion laptop. Here's where iTunes and iPod are failing, like I said, to update the latter with the music in the first.
Thank you very much. Happy 2006.

  • Video transport over network and missing classes

    hi everyone,
i found a way to send and receive video over the network but it doesn't work.
can you help to find any documentation or book or a piece of code for this work?
    also there is another problem.
i have downloaded the documentation of jmf twice.
but i cannot find the classes RTPManager and CaptureUtil.
the platform(netbeans 6.0) which i work finds these two classes but i can't find them inside the documentation.
    am i doing sth wrong?

I have a media box connected to my TV in the living room (via ethernet) and some times I like to watch movies or such in my bedroom. I've noticed for higher quality videos sometimes wifi just can't handle the throughput required.
I like VLC but quicktime (by default) seems better at buffering and dealing with slow connections, you might have to resort to using ethernet though.

  • Video Quality over 3g and Wifi

I just noticed that the iphone has a wonderful screen!! THats until......
You go to the youtube app and decide to watch the videos you just uploaded from your iphone! Or any video for that fact......
try this watch a video over 3g........... nice and grainy huh?
Then watch the same video over wifi........right now you might say ***
Thats what I said....even more embarrassing having a friend pull out their iphone 3gs and the video looks exactly like it does on wifi on the iphone 4 minus the pixel couont.
Whos to blame? This seems unbelievable. I know of the Truveo app....
But really is google flexing their muscle? Att? For now when people ask to see my amazing screen. I have to show them a video i bought from itunes and not on youtube........
    SMart!!!!!

Instead of using the app go to m.YouTube.com. You can watch videos in HD on 3G or wifi. Then just bookmark to your homescreen and use that instead of the YouTube app. I never use the YouTube app. It looms like crap.

  • Can I render a Flash frame as a bitmap and send it over TCP/IP?

I want to draw some combination of bitmaps, flash shapes, vectors, text etc and draw them programmatically into my movie using ActionScript, and then get every "rendered" pixel of my movie (at 100% view) into an array that I send to another program over TCP/IP. Can anyone help me here?
The first part of the question is if its possible to render a frame that is a collection of Flash elements as a bitmap? I know that I can iterate through a bitmap and get every pixel using the getPixel method but I'm trying to access the final rendered frame displayed on my screen, including, as I said Flash shapes and text.
The second question is what would be the best way to send this "video frame" over TCP/IP? Would I use an XML socket connection? That is the only way I know how to send data out of Flash over TCP/IP but I don't know if it is the only way - the help page says the data needs to be formatted as XML, which seems unwieldly for this application.
I'm doing this now by using Max/MSP/Jitter to do a screen capture the size and location of my Flash movie and then send out the resulting matrix using a "jit.net.send" object (which lets you send frames of video over TCP/IP), but this is too clumsy for the installation I am building.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    -bob

Thanks! That was exactly what I was looking for in the first half of the question. And I guess the draw() method works in AS2 as well as AS3. I will test it but from what I understand, I can use a Bitmap as kind of my bottom-level container, then create (in ActionScript) a movie clip that can contain other movie clips or drawing API commands or whatever, animate these various elements then finally draw() them into the bitmap. I see that in AS3 I can even use getPixels or getVector to capture the full "video frame" in one line of code.
Thanks rothrock, for the helpful links. My application is kind of unusual, in that I'm sending "video" data to a proprietary LED controller box for display on a low resolution LED display. I connect to the box over TCP/IP and send it "frames of video" 20 times a second. I got this to work with this other content and software (Max/MSP/Jitter) and I want to see how I could capture all the rendered pixel data in successive frames of Flash animation, format it properly, then send it over TCP/IP to this controller box. Don't really now enough about the various flavors of TCP/IP connections to figure out how to do this in Flash, and I know there are security limitations built in to Flash that have to be worked around. But my movies are small (say 96 pixels by 72 pixels) and I need to send uncompressed data directly to my controller box, so these interesting links showing how to use server-side scripts to create jpgs or pngs are probably not going to help me. I will hopefully find a higher-level programmer than myself to work this out, and I think some of the techniques here will hopefull prove to be helpful.
    Thanks again for your help!

  • Need help with Modbus RTU over TCP communication

    Hello!
I'm working with a project that involves communication between a LabView PC, a cRIO-9073 and a few Crouzet PLC's with XN05 modbus extentions. The issue I'm having is to get a stable and reliable connection between the units. The cRIO is communicating with the PLC's by Modbus RTU over TCP and I've created code that read and write to them in a sequential order to avoid possible ModBus conflicts. The LabView PC is sending a "ping" (boolean true) every second to the cRIO over UDP and the cRIO is then sending the "ping" to the PLC over Modbus/TCP. The PLC has a timer that waits for pings, if no ping has been recieved in 7 seconds the emergency brakes are applied and the system shuts down.
The main problems right now is:
    * After a while I lose the connection between the LabView PC and the cRIO. "Connection with RealTime target cRIO-9073 has been lost".
     - I also get either error code 56 or 66 on the TCP link.
    * The second problem is that if I quickly pull a TP-cable from, let's say, a PLC and then directly plug it back in I want the TCP connection to quickly reestablish. However what happens is that the "pings" from the cRIO stops coming to the PLC for like 5-6 seconds (time to reestablish link?), which means the 7 second timer is almost full. One option would be to raise that timer value, but the drawback is that the system will take longer time to respond to an true error which could be bad.. My question is simply, does it really take 5-6 seconds to establish a TCP connection between a cRIO and a PLC? What affects the time?
I would greatly appreciate help or respons on this one. I attach a simplified version of the code I use (all variables and such has been replaced with constants).
Is this a good way to do a ModBus communication over TCP with 3 PLC's?  Is there a better, safer, more reliable way? All suggestions on improvment is appreciated
    Thanks!
    /J

    Dear J,
Check the state machine Architecture here.
    1. In your acquisition if you got error in any system you close all TCP connections that is not right your other systems are working fine.
    2. You go with parallel loop connection. For each PLC you run separate code with error handlers.
    3. Check the attached VI for TCP Read. Same VI you can modify and use for your ModBUS operations.
    4. In you Sub VI you are passing a constant cluster. I am not able to understand what is the use of case structure inside the subVI, In you code you are passing the constant so its always same.
As you done previously made 3 loops or VIs to read the data in a main VI. First try to made one VI with one PLC, remove your all bugs and errors and copy it 3-time with different-different configurations.

  • Video calling over 3rd party apps

As an avid apple believer I want to do everything with my apple products, including make video calls to my parents overseas. Now while I understand that apple is bringing facetime to 3g in the furture for now no such luck. Normally there is "an app for that" but there isn't any third party video calling app for Iphone 4. What are my options.

Accessible through either iTunes App Store or from the iPhone App Store:
Tango: Supports both iPhone 4 and Android phones. Video calling over 3G and WIFI. Easy set up and access your contact list showing who you can video call. No desktop version at this time.
Skype: Supports iPhone 4 and soon to support Android phones. Video calling over 3G and WIFI. Requires registration with Skype. Offers desktop version. Provides options for discounted international voice calls to landlines and cellphones.
As for FaceTime Apple should seriously reconsider updating the iOS to support video calling over 3G instead of just WIFI which is not readily available. Most international carriers already support HSPA+ which provides sufficient bandwidth and speed to allow video calling over 3G as already proven by Tango and Skype.

  • How do I fix my video that becomes choppy when played in Flash?

I have a video that I'm integrating into a SWF. Only problem is, it becomes choppy when I play in within the SWF.
It's a video that I created, and plays perfect in other players, just not when part of a SWF..

As far as it goes, you are doing everything correctly. If the original video file was compressed, the problem may be in the transcoding from the original compression to Flash's .flv file. If you have the original video and can output from a video editor to the .flv format, then you may get better playback.
You may also want to look at reducing the image size and/or the frame rate to try and improve the playback.

I have just changed over from a computer that was 11 years old, running Windows 98, to a new computer running Windows XP. With my old computer I could easily download video clips, they would open and play as soon as the download had ended. Now I have to click on the download box and click on "Play". Also, when I wanted to keep a clip, I just right clicked and a menu appeared and I would then click on "Save as" or similar. Now there doesn't appear to be any way to save the clips. Apart from a faster and more powerful computer I feel I've gone backwards. Can anyone help?

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

  • I cannot play videos on 60GB Video without it halting and muting

I have used several programs over the last few days to convert different videos to MP4 format, and while the videos play fine inside of iTunes, they mute after a couple of minutes on the IPOD itself. This has happened for 100% of my converted MP4 files. I even used a muxer/demuxer to run the MP4 files through before putting them on the IPOD.
Basically, they'll play fine for perhaps 2 minutes, but then the sound will go, the video will halt... and although the video will start back up again in 10-15 seconds, the sound won't... at all. I can rewind or fast forward a bit and the sound will come back, but it'll mute again within a minute... every time. It doesn't matter what the converting program I've used... it happens to every one of them.
Yes, I have tried converting before I used the Update tool and after. Same problem before and after. The thing that gets me is that all my video podcasts work fine. They work all the way through without error. However, converting or just finding an MP4 file from somewhere and putting it on... will not work. It will halt 100% of the time.
My iTunes is up to date. My firmware is up to date. My Quicktime is up to date. Some help here would be nice to get. I hate to have spent all that money for a 60GB Video IPOD and basically be worthless for the main reason I got it.. play all my videos on. Thanks.

    Eric,
The problem is most likely software version 1.1. You will want to go back to 1.0

I am trying to burn DVDs from iPhoto slideshows.  My pictures number in the hundreds and we know that iPhoto captures 99 and then "starts over".  This plays fine from the Mac Book but glitches arise on the DVD when playing it on a DVD player.  Any suggestions on how to overcome the 99 "Chapter limitation" that IPhoto has?  Has anyone heard or tried an app called Vilisoft?  I read good things but I am not sure if it will do what I want.
    Jim

Then use multipel 99 picture slideshows.
You can have up to 8 or 9 slideshows per menu.  If you add a sub menu reduce that by 1 and add 8 more to the sub menu.  The top menu can have links to up to 8 or so submenus (depends on the theme) and each submenu can have up to 8 or so slideshows.
However, converting a very large slideshow to a QT movie as Terence suggested does not envoke the 99 slide limit in iDVD.  It just becomes a single video/movie file.  So you should not have a problem with exporting at the large size, 720 x 540,
and dragging the resulting file into the iDVD menu being sure to avoid any drop zones.
