  • How to create tables and views and procedures in other users as one

    HI to all,
    I am having a user named vijay and i am trying to create the tables in user srini as user vijay
    in user vijay i'm having tables
    1. company
    2. department
    i wrote one procedure
    create or replace procedure sp_createobjects{short_name in varchar2}
    {my openbracket key is not working so that i put open braces here}
    as
    cursor table_name is select object_name from dba_tables where object_type = 'TABLE';
    var_table_name varchar2{1000};
    begin
    open table_name;
    loop
    fetch table_name into var_table_name;
    execute immediate 'create table ' || short_name || '.' || var_table_name || ' as select * from '||var_table_name;
    end loop;
    end;
    the procedure is created sucessfully. but when i am trying to execute the procedure it is throwing the error as insufficient privileges.
    my 2nd question is how to create the procedures into the other user?
    Thanks in advance

    First of all, your query "from dba_tables where object_type = 'TABLE'" returns all tables, not just the tables of the user vijay.
    So there are two possibilities, you may be getting the error because you cannot select from another user's table or you may be getting the error because you cannot create a table under the user srini. To create tables in another schema you need the "create any table" privilege.

  • How to view concurrent request of other users

    We have upgraded recently to R 12.
    Would really appreciate if some one can guide me how i can allow the super user "A" to be able to view all the concurrent requests that were submitted by various key users of HRMS.
    I know in 11i there is a profile option: "Concurrent: Report Access Level" that defines who can access the output of concurrent requests.
    I want to assign the same to one user (super user) only in R12 instance.
    how to do this???

  • Error creating view with tables of other user

    I am creating of view containing two tables of another user. I
    am a dba-user.
    The statement looks like this:
    CREATE VIEW TEST
    (SELECT ...
    FROM DWH.TABLE_A A, DWH.TABLE_B B
    WHERE A.ID = B.ID)
    I get an error-message (ORA-00942: Table or view not found).
    When I create the view as user DWH, everything went OK. I don't
    think it has something to do with privileges since I am the dba-
    user.
    How can I create a view using other users tables?

    Hi
    To create view on table of another user you need to have select
    privilege grant directly to you - not to role granted to you. In
    your case you can select tables because you have granted dba
    role and it has select any table prvivilege, but you havent
    directly granted this rights without role.

  • Created By field and Modified By field and People Picker field values are hidden to other Users

    Hi,
    We have a strange permission issue in one of the MOSS-2007 server farm. The users are not able to see each other name in "created by" and "modified by" column value in lists and libraries. For example if "User A" create an item in a list then if "User B" opens that item then he cannot see "created by" and "modified by" column value and vice-versa. But they can see their name in "created by" and "modified by" column but not others. Both the users has contribute access to that list, so both can edit each other data but cannot see each other name.
    This become a bigger issue, if any of tje list has people picker column, then thay cannot see that column value(if that column value does not his/her own name). This means this column value will be always empty for "user A" when that peopel picker value is anything other than "User A". This happens for all the lists and libraries.
    Even "User A" and "User B" are owner of that site, it behaves the same. But site collection administrator can see  "created by" and "modified by" for all items for all the users.
    It seems very strange for me. any help on this will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sanban

    Hi,
    You can try to create a new standard view, then select “created by” and “modified by” column under columns, next apply this view, finally check the effect.
    Did you customize the permissions of the list or document library? Did you customize the permission of the item? For example, break the permission inheritance form its parents. If so, try to inherit permission from its parents, after that create a new standard view according to the steps above, then check the effect.
    By default, permissions on lists, libraries, folders, items, and documents are inherited from the parent site. However, you can break this inheritance for any securable object at a lower level in the hierarchy by editing the permissions on that securable object (that is, creating a unique permission assignment) . For example, you can edit the permissions for a document library, which breaks the permissions inheritance from the site.
    You can also try to create a new document library, then create a new document with user A, after that log into with user B, check the effect.

  • Server allows overwriting files that are open by other users.

    We're having a problem with Snow Leopard Server not warning a user when they attempt to overwrite a file that is open by another user.
    Running Snow Leopard Server 10.6.8 on an Xserve with an Xserve RAID. Have about 25-30 Mac clients, running 10.6.8 or 10.7.3. Users running Adobe CS5.5
    Here's the scenario:
    User edits a file in InDesign, then saves a PDF of that file to the server. The user's supervisor reviews the file, and perhaps adds comments to it, but not necessarily.
    The user edits the ID file again, and saves a new PDF over the old one. When we were running Server 10.4.x, the user would have been warned that the PDF file was open by another user, and would have been prevented from saving. Under SL Server, no warning takes place, and the file is overwritten.
    At this point, a couple of things can happen.
    1: The new file is written, and the changes can be seen by the user. The supervisor's computer does not see the new version of the file. Quicklook and opening the file into Acrobat 10 will still show the old file. Disconnecting and reconnecting fixes this.
    2: The new file is written, but it is corrupted, and not openable by either party. If neither one opens the file right away, this could go unnoticed.
    I've tested this scenario between two Lion machines, and the "file-open" warning occurs like it should.
    Is there a setting in SL Server that I need to look at, or is this a bug?
    Our short-term fix is to have the user always save to a new filename. This can work, but it's cumbersome.

  • IMovie '11 viewer doesn't show other user's projects on external HD

    I would like to free my wife's and my computer main harddisk from the lot of iMovie projects and events.
    To do this I thought of copying all the projects and events to an external harddisk which then will attached either to my or my wife's computer.
    I did this with 5 imovie '11 projects copied from my computer.  My iMovie '11 does recognize the projects but when I attach the external harddisk to my wife's computer her iMovie '11 displays the harddisk and the folders in the project folders but the 5 projects are not displayed.
    Is there a way to make them show up in my wife's (or any other person's iMovie '11 attached to the external harddisk) iMovie?

    I double checked everything and found out that on my wife's computer iMovie '09 was installed and not '11.
    After installing imovie '11 everything is working as I'd like.

  • HP scanned pdf's are incompatible to other users

    I purchased this printer last week.  I used the scanner for the first time yesterday, and all the docs scanned and saved as PDF on my computer.  I am able to open them, but when I emailed them to other coworkers, they could not open those scanned pdfs.  It said the pdf was not a supported file type or was not correctly decoded.  I can send them other non-scanned PDF's and they are able to open them.
    I rescanned the docs as JPEG, and the pictures appears on my desktop, but other coworkers still cannot open them because it said there was no content.

    Hi there @dibarra
    Welcome to the community
    I will certainly do my best to help you with the scanning issue you are facing! However, I am going to ask that you please let me know some more helpful information to help me research the problem for you.
    Please respond to me with the following. If there are any steps here that you have not tried, please try them before responding and include the result:
    What printer(s) are installed on the computer?
    How is the printer connected (USB/ wireless/ wired/ Bluetooth)?
    What is the Operating System of the computer?
    Have you tested hardware functionality (made copies)?
    Can you print?
    Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software?
    If you're running Windows, run the Print and Scan Doctor and include the results.
    Is the printer plugged directly into the wall outlet (avoiding power bars and surge protectors)?
    Have you completed all Windows/Mac OS Updates?
    Have you tried using a different USB/Ethernet cable?
    Thank you!

  • How can I stop authenticated users from getting other user's information?

    We recently discovered that it is possible for authenticated users, via KMu2019s details view, to view details about the other users that have access to the same resource as you.  Our portal (7.0 sp15) is used for an external facing web site.  We have secured it against anonymous users but the problem still remains for authenticated users.  Here is an example:
    The KM folder documents\Public Documents has been assigned read permissions for the group Everyone.  An authenticated user can open the URL https://<host>/irj/go/km/navigation/documents/Public%20Documents and a list of folders are shown.  The user can then select the Details from the menu for one of the folders and the Details iview is displayed.  They then select the menu item Settings > Permissions and the users/groups/roles assigned to this folder are shown.  The user can then select a user and view that users name and email address or the user could select a group and view for each member of the group the user id, name, and email address which could then be used to help attack the site.
    So I thought it would be easy enough to disable the details view for all users but content managers or administrators but I seem to running into difficulty.
    I tried disabling the Details KM command with limited success.  Even with it disabled, if you know the URL for the details component you can still access it.  So it seems the better option is to take away access to the details component.  It seems that the users are getting access to the Details iView from the standard eu_role.  If I remove the iView from this role then all user have no access to the Details in KM.  I tried to add the iView to another role that content managers would have but when logged in with a user that had that other role I still was not able to access the Details iView.
    This SAP Help document [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/47/f0f7415e639c39e10000000a155106/frameset.htm |http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/47/f0f7415e639c39e10000000a155106/frameset.htm ]discusses the eu_role(Standard User role) and it states that
    By default, the Everyone group is assigned to the Standard User role. If you choose to use the other every user roles instead, you need to remove these assignments from the Standard User role and apply them to the Every User Core and Control Center User roles.
      But, when I look at what groups the role is assigned to or what roles are assigned to the Everyone group they donu2019t appear to be linked contrary to what the documentation says.  So, what Iu2019m thinking here is that I can create a copy of this role and remove the Details iView from the original and then assign the copy to the content managers and administrators.  Doing this causes all users to lose access, even the content managers.
    I thought Iu2019d give the Security Zones a try to see if this could help me but when I take away rights from here it still allows access.
    Iu2019m stumped.  Iu2019m sure there is some key piece that eludes me.  What can I do to allow users read only access to some KM folders and files while preventing them from viewing the permission/user details?

    The only 3d party apps are Hazel...
    And that's your problem!
    From the Hazel site's description:
    Hazel watches whatever folders you tell it to, automatically organizing your files according to the rules you create.
    Hazel, is a prefPane so you must have some rule (or it supplied the rule as a default) to put pictures (jpg's) from your Desktop (folder) into your Pictures folder.
    Open your System Preferences and Hazel in there and either turn off Hazel or change or delete the appropriate rule covering this situation.

  • DBA role required to see indexes in Other Users schema

    When my developers try to view indexes owned by other users that are unable to see them unless the have been added to the DBA Role. Is this a requirement to view indexes owned by others? Are there lesser privs than DBA that will allow this?

    The developer already has this privilege. Using other development tools he can see the indexes in other schemas. It appears to be a problem or setting in SQL Developer. We are running version 1.2.1. Any other thoughts?

  • IBot user not receiving dashboard alert/email not the case for other users

    Hi,
    I have a user who can create iBots and is able to deliver them to other users. However the user themselves cannot receive any iBot alerts on the dashboard or via email, even for iBots that they create themselves.
    I've checked their account setting and their email is configured, they are part of the correct user groups etc. This user has never been able to receive any iBot alerts or any iBot content.
    Can you let me know what else I can check as iBots are working for other users?
    Regards,
    AT

    Thanks Jay,
    They are part of the same group (in fact thety are part more groups as well) as other users for whom alerts and iBots work. They have the relevant priviliges under Delivers, their email is correct.
    They have access to the relevant Subject Area as it is ther user themselves who create the report and try to send it out using and iBot, other users receive the report apart from themselves. They themselves don't receive any alerts or emails.

  • Remote Desktop Session - users presented with Other User only?

    Hi,
    I am running a 2008 R2 server patched up to date.  It has the remote desktop services role installed.  Whenever I RDP or if a user launches a terminal services session they are presented with OTHER USER only.
    This involves clicking the Other User before entering their credentials which is becoming a pain.
    Non of the other servers are behaving this way.  I've compared the settings with the other and all is identical.  I've checked the local security policy and disabled all Group Policies but the behaviour still persists. Any ideas?
    Thanks, Matt.

    Hi Matt,
    Can you clarify more for this line, “Whenever I RDP or if a user launches a terminal services session they are presented with OTHER USER only.” what you mean by this? If I understand, when you taking RDP, you need to enter the credential for user manually
    and that you don’t want, yes? If misunderstood, please correct.
    For that, for a try you can enable the Group policy under credential manager and enable SSO for remote desktop connection. You can find the setting under beneath path.
    Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Credentials Delegation
    Allow Delegating Default Credentials: Enable
    Add "TERMSRV/<Your server name>" to the server list.
    There are other setting which you can check with following link.

  • Why we cannot view the move orders which are created by the other user?

    Hi,
    Can any one explain me the below point.
    Why we cannot view the move orders which are created by the other user.
    Ex: From ABC user I have created a Move Order: 123456 in M1 Org If I login to the other user BCD I cannot view the same move order in the same ORG i..e M1 ORG.
    But we can perform the transact move orders for move orders which is created by the other user.
    What could be the reason? Why the system is restricting this? Is this the standard functionality of oracle?
    Can any one explain?
    Regards,
    Kv.

    This is due to a security function which allows to see the move orders created by the user only.
    Please refer to the meta link document ID 280131.1 for detailed description.
    I have tried these steps in one of my test instances long back and was able to see move orders created by other users.
    Thanks

  • Black images when trying to view other user's added photos in iPhoto

    Hi all - I've had this problem for ages and really want to get to the bottom of it.  We have 1 iMac that has iPhoto '09 with the library in a shared folder so that both myself and my wife can import pictures into the 1 iPhoto library.  So... 1 iMac, 2 users, 1 iPhoto library.  It works somewhat... but there seems to be a big problem when I open iPhoto (no other user even logged into the computer) and as I browse through the library, many of the photos my wife has imported have thumbnails, but enlarge to black.  Same thing in reverse, it seems to have a problem with many of the photos I've imported if my wife logs in and scrolls through the iphoto library.  It's not every picture but it is a good chunk of them.  The thumbnails are there... and when I log in under my name, I can view all the ones that were "blacked out" when my wife was logged in (and vice versa), so the images aren't gone.  How can I repair this once and for all???  I just want a fully functioning iPhoto that both my wife and I can trust.
    THANKS!!!

    There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
    1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
    2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
    3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). (On iPhoto 11 this option is under the File -> Reveal in Finder.) Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
    4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
    5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    If none of these help:
    As a Test:
    Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
    Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
