View Cross Tab in CRS 2008

Dear All,
I have a problem with format left side in Cross Tab Report. When I design Reports using Cross Tab  and I view it, it works well in Crystal Reports. But When I upload it to Crystal Report Server 2008, the left side become to the center. I don't want it to display in the center. What is the reason for this problem?
Member Grade_____________Amount_________Ratio
Gold_____________________200,000_________50%
Silver____________________200,000_________50%
When I viewed in Crystal Report Server 2008, It displayed:
Column Member Grade: Gold and Silver become the Center even though I format it to the Left
Best Regards

Check on the No Printer option or instlal the same Printer you used when designing the report on the Server.

in Framework 3.5 with crystal report 2008 with service pack 5.
in my crystal i used cross tab to show the grid records. one of the data having the data type as date time after launching the report, when i export the report with option "export to excel (data only)" and check the format of the date value in excel it show the general string
if i place that data in any other location other than cross tab then it reflects the format what i give in report design. but when the control is in cross tab
    its not effect
    how to solve this!

  • Data binding cross tab in Crystal 2008 with Xcelsius swf file

I've created a visualisation in Xcelsius and want to bind it to a cross tab in CR2008.   The labels appear correctly in the swf visualisation but I get no data.   The format of the table in Xcelsius and the cross tab I believe to be the same, covering data formats.   I have placed the Xcelsius visualisation in page header "a" with the cross tab in page header "b".   The Xcelsius table has been defined in terms of column and row headers as well as data area, so I've done everything that I understand to be correct.   In CR2008 I have specified that I use the existing named cross tab.
Does anyone have any idea what I may have missed.

  • Help with formatting for Cross Tab Report Crystal 2008

This is probably a simple question.  I have a cross tab report that displays sales by month for a period of 6 months.  These sales columns are formatted to be numbers with no decimals.  In addition to these columns, I have inserted columns that display the percentage up/down in sales over the previous month.  If I try to format the percentage columns, it changes every column to then display "##,##.##%" when I need to keep the sales columns at "##,###" with no decimal or percentage sign.
    1.  Is there a way to change the formatting of some of the columns but not all in a cross tab report?
    2.  If not, can I add a function that would change these in the calculation formula of the calculated member?
I tried to add "%" but it wants it to return a number.
    Here is the current code:
//The calculation formula is used in place of the summaries in Calculated Members.
// This calculation formula must return a/an Number value.
    If GridValueAt (CurrentRowIndex,CurrentColumnIndex-3,CurrentSummaryIndex) = 0 then 0 else
    ((GridValueAt (CurrentRowIndex,CurrentColumnIndex-1,CurrentSummaryIndex) -
    GridValueAt (CurrentRowIndex,CurrentColumnIndex-3,CurrentSummaryIndex)) /
    GridValueAt (CurrentRowIndex,CurrentColumnIndex-3,CurrentSummaryIndex)) * 100
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Tobi

    Carl,
Thank you for your help.  I did try your method but still couldn't get it to ignore the fact that it wanted a number.  I changed my approach a litte and managed to solve the problem.  Here is the method that I chose which managed to solve the problem.  If this is a poor way to solve it, please let me know as I am always open for new ways.
Format Field > Number Tab > Customize > Currency  Symbol Tab
Checked Enable Currency Symbol Fixed, changed  currency symbol to %.  This is the same thing that I did before which changes it for all columns.
Beside Enable Currency checkbox, I added this formula:
// This conditional formatting formula must return one of the following Currency Symbol Constants:
    // crNoCurrencySymbol
    // crFixedCurrencySymbol
    // crFloatingCurrencySymbol
    If GridRowColumnValue("InvoiceLine.TxnDate") = Date(0,0,0) then
        crFixedCurrencySymbol
    else
        crNoCurrencySymbol
My added columns have a null date field so they take the currency format.  My other columns do not so they do not take the formatting.
    Thanks again for the help.

  • Cross Tab Column Header and Embedded or Calculated Member

    Hello All
I am needing some help with a Cross Tab in CR2008.
My Cross Tab look as follows:
    Rows______________Columns
    ......................................Fiscal Year
    Account Number...........Summarized Field (Value Field)
The report spans three Fiscal Years but not all accounts have three Fiscal Years worth of data so some Cross tabs start 2009, 2008, 2007, Some report 2008 and 2007, Some just 2007 (and other variations). To get my cross tab working correctly I need to create a formula that get the CurrentColumnIndex based upon the Fiscal Year. e.g. If columnd header = 2009 column index = 0.
Can anyone advise how I would go about this?
    Thanks
    Phillip

Phillip, go to your data source, and see if you can add a new connection,
one of those options should be (Command)
if you can add a Command, then you can put the SQL in the command section.
You will need to add the Command as a data source, and remove the old
data source once the command is added, you will be able to edit it if needed.

  • Cross-Tab Conditional Formatting

    Hello Everyone
I have a question, I am working with on a cross-tab table version 2008 that requires a dollar symbol in some of the columns, but not all of them. I tried to fix this problem with a conditional formula, but for those columns that are calculated members, it does not work. Any ideas? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

In Format Field -> Common there is a formula called Display String.  Use this to output the exact string that you want to display in the report.  Perhaps something like (basic syntax):
    if GridRowColumnValue("Group 1") = "Sales" then
      formula = "$" + cstr({CurrentFieldValue, "0.00")
    else
      formula = cstr(CurrentFieldValue, "0")
    end if
which will show something like $123.45 in the Sales column, or 123 in the Qty column...

  • Crystal Report 2008 - Cross tab in subreport doesn't expand horizontally

    Hello,
i'm migrating all my company's reports from crystal report X to crystal report 2008.
And i'm facing the following issue:
when a sub-report contains a cross-tab that is too large for one page, in crystal report X a second horizontal page is generated, but in Crystal report 2008 the second horizontal page is not visible.
Is it a known bug, is there a patch to install?

    Hi Abhilash,
thank you for your answer, but this workarround does not works in my case.
My main report is just a container for multiple subreports and some of them contains crosstab that can grow on several pages horizontally and vertically.
For example i have some crosstab that can span on more than 5 pages vertically and on 2 pages horizontally.
I tried to create an empty cross tab that span on 2 horizontal pages in the main report, and to mask it. That works for the first vertical page of the subreport but only for this one. Moreover if the first page of the crosstab contained in the subreport does not span horizontally, this solution create an unwanted empty page.

  • Issues with cross tabs when trying to convert our cry10 reports to cry 2008

We are trying to convert our reports from crystal 10 to crystal 2008. Reports that contain cross tabs will not execute in crystal 2008. We are getting a report application failed error. Has anyone encountered this? What is the fix?

I did notice that in a formula I am using in the Summarized Fields section I have a Next() on a field that I am trying to compare the next record with the current record. If I take that Next() out, the cross tab will work. Why would using this cause me problems?

  • Cross Tab display problem in viewer.

    Post Author: SamCCO
    CA Forum: .NET
I am having a problem with the CrystalReportViewer in Visual Studio 2005.  I have a report which contains a cross tab object that has the upper column labels rotated 90 degrees so that the column widths remain small.  When I view the report in the web viewer in VS 2005, the column labels are all horizontal and unreadable because they run into each other across the top of the cross tab.  Why won't the labels render in a 90 degree fashion?
When you print the document from the viewer it shows the labels at 90 degrees.  Is this a bug in the report viewer?

    Update
Hi Guys the report is working fine with cross tab . Its giving the above error when ever I click the Drill to link which takes to the another detail report.
    thanks in advance

  • Issue with passing parameters through Java-JSP in a report with cross tab

Can anyone tell me, if there's a bug in Java SDK in passing the parameters to a report (rpt file) that has a cross tab in it ?
I hava report that works perfectly fine
with ODBC through IDE and also through browser (JSP page)
(ii)    with JDBC in CR 2011 IDE
the rpt file has a cross tab and accpts two parameters.
When I run the JDBC report through JSP the parameters are never considered. The same report works fine when I remove the cross tab and make it a simple report.
I have posted this to CR SDK forum and have not received any reply. This have become a blocker and because of this our delivery has been postponed. We are left with two choices,
Re-Write the rpt files not to have cross-tabs - This would take significant effort
    OR
(ii)  Abandon the crystal solution and try out any other java based solutions available.
I have given the code here in this forum posting..
CR 2011 - JDBC Report Issue in passing parameters

    Mr.James,
    Thank you for the reply.
As I stated earlier, we have been using the latest service pack (12) when I generated the log file that is uploaded earlier.
To confirm this further, I downloaded the complete eclipse bundle from sdn site and reran the rpt files. No change in the behaviour and the bug is reproducible.
You are right about the parameters, we are using  {?@Direction} is: n(1.0)
{?@BDate} is: dt(d(1973-01-01),t(00:00:00.453000000)) as parameters in JSP and we get 146 records when we directly execute the stored procedure. The date and the direction parameter values stored in design time are different. '1965-01-01' and Direction 1.
When we run the JSP page, The parameter that is passed through the JSP page, is displayed correctly on the right top of the report view. But the data that is displayed in cross tab is not corresponding to the date and direction parameter. It corresponds to 1965-01-01 and direction 1 which are saved at design time.
You can test this by modifying the parameter values in the JSP page that I sent earlier. You will see the displayed data will remain same irrespective of the parameter.
Further to note, Before each trial run, I modify the parameters in JSP page, build them and redeploy so that caching does not affect the end result.
This behaviour, we observe on all the reports that have cross-tabs. These reports work perfectly fine when rendered through ODBC-ActiveX viewer and the bug is observable only when ran through Java runtime library. We get this bug on view, export and print functionalities as well.
Additionally we tested the same in
With CR version 2008 instead of CR 2011.
(ii)   Different browsers ranging from IE 7 through 9 and FF 7.
The complete environment and various softwares that we used for this testing are,
OS      : XP Latest updates as on Oct 2011.
App Server: GlassFish Version 3 with Java version 1.6 and build 21
Database server ; SQL Server 2005. SP 3 - Dev Ed.
JTds JDBC type 4 driver version - 1.2.5  from source forge.
Eclipse : Helios along with crystal libraries directly downloaded from SDN site.
I am uploading the log file that is generated when rendering the rpt for view in IE 8
    Regards

  • Cross tabs not printing correctly

I am making a report in crystal reports 2008 that has a cross tab.  When viewed in my crystal report viewer or exported it displays correctly, however whenever printing the margins on the right and left side of the page seem to bleed together.  Is this a known bug or can it be fixed by something I am doing either in the report or in the code for my crystal viewer.  Note: this only applies to wide spanning reports, not to subsequent pages.

Please re-post if this is still an issue but search first, it's been answered

  • Is it possible to copy a Cross-Tab object and Formulars to a new report.

    Afteroon all,
I have created a Balance Sheet report using quite a few formulars and items. They are listed in a cross-tab object. Everything is working fine except something has happened to the report at some stage and it is causing problems when I deploy my web app (the rpt file will not delete when I undeploy my web app, it gets locked, untill I shutdown tomcat)
So I want to try create a new rpt file and copy the cross-tab object and all its formulars across.
So is there a way to copy formulars from one report to another and also is it possible to copy a cross-tab object across.
    Thanks
    Darren
(PS Unless someone can tell me why my rpt file is being locked by tomcat)

I am running windows and the rpt file "locks" and I have just noticed the \WEB-INF\lib\derby.jar file also locks. I dont use the derby.jar file at all. (as far as I am aware - I got an oracle connection).
Maybe I am redeploying incorrectly or not clearing the report correctly.
What I do is, I copy the WAR file to the webapps folder, Tomcat unpacks the app and I can run my reports no problem, fresh data is displayed if different parameters are used. I then close my browser window and make changes to my report design. I delete the WAR file in the webapps folder and export my project to a war file again - to the webapps, Tomcat then tries to clear the old project folder so that it can deploy the new WAR. it clears out everything except the rpt file and the derby.jar files. And then of course cannot redeploy the WAR file. So I have to stop tomcat and delete the project myself and start Tomcat again.
Clearly this is not good as I dont want to have to stop and start my Tomcat server everytime I make changes.
So how should I correctly undeploy a current version of my webapp and then deploy the new changes. Or am I not doing something when I am finished viewing the report.
Sorry for going off Thread topic.
I have tried using copies of the report but the same still happens.
    Thanks
    Darren
Im busy reading the "CR not releasing the memory " thread, hopefully the answer is in there somewhere

  • Drill down in cross tab report.

Is it possible to have drill down in a cross tab report. e.g. in first view the main groups are the rows and when clicked on the main group the same design but with sub groups as the rows get visible as a drill down.
If it is possible then which version of crystal  report supports this and how can I achieve it.
I currently have crystal reports that comes with visual studio 2008.

thanks for the suggestion sjain ... but I've seen ppl here on the forums saying that it doesn't work in cross tab...So I'm not sure if that can be done but I'll try .

  • Cross tab sub report with vertical page breaks

Hi have a report which contains 3 sub reports - different views of similar data. The sub report is wide enough to cover two landscape pages across and they run down over two pages
The first subreport on page one does expand across into the secon landscape page, but does not repeat the row labels, although the settings in both main & subreport cross tab are to repeat
The secon & third sub reports which print on the escon vertical page do not expand across to display any data, so I get no page four.
They all have exactly the same settings.
Is there any easy way to resolve this?

    hi Julie,
this is i believe the nature of cross-tabs inside of subreports...horizontal expansion within the subreports is not a supported feature.
you mentioned that the data is similar but just different views...is the query that each subreport runs off of bringing in the same record set? if so, is it possible to move the cross-tabs into the main report?
are you using crystal reports 2008? if so, does changing the page setup for the entire report to a huge size and then the pagination for each section to landscape help?

  • Cross tab formatting in Infoview

I uploaded a Crystal 2008 report into Infoview product version 12.1.0. The report contains indented row labels in the cross tab. When I view the report in Infoview, the indents don't display nicely indented. Instead, they almost look centered, which defeats the purpose of this feature. Anyone know whether I'm doing something wrong or maybe it's a version/Infoview setting issue?
    Thx.
