View in Bex data from Z-table (field1 = 255 char...)

Hello Guru...
Could you help to solve problem - I have a Z-table (field has more than 60 characters) 255. How can I obtain this information in Bex?

Yes, you are seeing the problem with reporting long text in Bex. Bex is not intended to be used to report on Long text.. it's an analytic tool, and the limits of Microsoft Excel are also there. 3,000 characters is rather too much to be reporting within Bex. In a similar requirement I have recommended to the end user that they stick with a report out of SAP, and they agreed.
Some customers think that Bex is a "Reporting Tool". It's NOT. It is an Analytic tool, and is optimized for that purpose. It can be used as a Report generation tool, but sometimes it's just not the right tool for the job.
In any case, if you have a unique key and can break up your 3,000 character long text into 12 separate attributes as you describedm, then you can load it into Bex as master data. Just be cautious. When we did this we used Accounting Document number as "Unique". And then added new Controlling areas that ended up having their own number ranges, which over-wrote the number ranges we were using. And THAT produced a lot of confusion. Adding Chart of Acccounts, Company Code, and Controlling Area to your 'unique key' is always a good idea.

Send data from 2 table view to a RFC

Hi All,
What I try to do is following:
I have two table view A and B, which contain data, which I need both for the RFC. Now I can Toolbar for one of the tables and connect both tables to the RFC, both with the action caused by the button.
But only the data from the table view with the button is sent to the RFC.
Has anyone an idea what I could do?

Select data from a table and a view: field with same content and different type

hi all,
I need data from a table hrp1001 and a view V_USR_NAME. What they have in common are the content of the fields SOBID and BNAME .
It will be easier if those fields add a same type but they dont.
Any suggestions for a workaround?

Specify the date format as YYYYMMDD in where condition.
Dates are internally stored in SAP as YYYYMMDD only.
Change your date format in WHERE condition as follows.
data itab like equk occurs 0 with header line.
select * from equk into table itab where werks = 'C001'
and bdatu = <b>'99991231'.</b>
I doubt check your data base table EQUK on this date for the existince of data.
Otherwise, just change the conidition on BDATU like below to see all entries prior to this date.
data itab like equk occurs 0 with header line.
select * from equk into table itab where werks = 'C001'
and <b> bdatu <= '99991231'.</b>

Error While Viewing Data from MARA Table

After Importing SAP Tables, ex MARA and viewing Data Getting "Error Calling RFC function to get table data: <DATA_BUFFER_EXCEEDED "r . After decreasing or applying filters on fields , still not able to get data.
Able to extract data from T001 table.
Need to pull data in volumes right, so how to tackle this problem.

Reading data from multiple tables on Apex

Hi All,
My apologies if the below question has been answered already, just that I could not find the relevant discussion.
I have an interactive report that I would like to use to display data from 2 tables:
Table 1 has about 10 columns but I just want to display 3 of those columns, field1, field2 & field3.
Table 2 has about 5 columns and I only want to display 2 of these columns(Column1 & Column2) on the same report with the above columns from table 1.
I need my report to look like this: field1 field2 field3 Column1 Column2
from table1, table2
I tried the above example and it seems not to be working, may I please get some assistance on how to achieve this.

Thanks for your response, I've actually found and answer the question.
I wanted to display data from 2 separate tables(views) that did not have joints, and so hence I could not join them with a join condition.
What I did was to created a dummy field on both tables with similar values and joined the tables using those dummy fields and it works perfect.

How to Extract data from Cluster table and transperant table

Hello BW Experts ,
I want to extract the data from cluster table BSEG and a transperant table BKPF .
The primary fields are BELNR , GJHAR and BUKRS.
the fields of table BKPF to extarct is BUDAT and fields of BSEG table is HKONT , BSCHL , ZUONR and POSID.
I can not create a view over these two tables as BSEG is a Cluster table.
Please guide me.

Wanting data from a table without a particular column

I need the data from a table, except the data for a particular
column. I don't want to write the select list, as it would be
too clumsy for a large table. Can anybody suggest a solution. I

You will want to review information on replication and similar methods
In a nutshell:
Replication allowed data to exist at more than one site and take the Master / original table data and clone it at a different site
As tranporting all of the table data to a remote / clone site got more and more expensive we developed a method
to identify just the 'diffs' and only send those from the master to the clone which needed only the diffs to become a clone of the master table
This has many methods and options, but looking under key words such as
- distributed transations
- materialized views
- replication
... are a few categories that will get you started

Reading data from a table which can have millions of record

Hi,
I need to write a query in my report that can be able to fetch records from a z table that have arount 20 lac (= 2 million) records. As far i knoew we can not handle such a huge amount of data in our internal tables. because the size of internal table is fixed and that can be increased only by basis persons.
So can anybody tell me the approach that i should follow such that i can split the data from this table.
Or any other approach is also welcome.
Please reply ASAP when you have the time.

Hi Mayank,
reduce the data selected to the fields you really need, avoid select *. See online help on SELECT, addition PACKAGE SIZE.
select field1 field2 field3
into corresponding fields of table lt_table package size nnn WHERE ...
* process lt_table
endselect.

we have standard report, the extraced data will be used to create bw reports later.
my part is to find a way to extract the data from PCD tables for creating

i have selected the following tables for the data extraction
WCR_USERSTAT,WCR_WEBCONTENTSTAT,WCR_USERFIRSTLOGON,
WCR_USERPAGEUSAGE.
My questions are
1.Did i select the Exact PCD tables?
2.Can i use UME api for accessing the data from those tables?
3.can i use the data extracted from PCD tables in JSPdynpage or
webdynpro apps?
4.can i Querry the PCD tables from JSPDynpage or Webdynpro

When I try to create an external content type based on a view (AdventureWorks2012.vSalesPerson) - I can display the data in an external list. When I attempt to edit it, I get an error:
External List fails when attached to a SQL view
Sorry, something went wrong
Failed to update a list item for this external list based on the Entity (External Content Type) 'SalesForce' in EntityNamespace 'http://xxxxxxxx'. Details: The query against the database caused an error.
I can edit the view in SQL Manager, so it seems strange that it fails.
Any advice would be greatly GREATLY appreciated.

For our purposes here:
Table 1 = "Step 2 - Product Sizes"
Table 2 = "Option id Master"
Table 3 = "Export - Product Info"
Table 1:
The user would enter values for "productcode," "Horz," and "Vert"
"Size" would auto fill based on values in Horiz and Vert (I have this taken care of already).
Table 2: This is a completely static table that I want to search against. - Data from other tables in the doc does not alter or change the data in this doc.
We just want to look at table 2. Find the existing value in "table 2 : size" column that matches the "table 1 : size" column and then pull the "optionids" and "productprice" from that row.
Can the value from "Table 1 : Size" be used as a search term in "Table 2 : Size?"
Table 3: The user does not enter any values on this table.
"productcode" is pulled from table 1 - "Table 1 :: A5" = "Table 3 :: A5"
"optionids" and "productprice" are pulled from Table 2 columns "D" and "E" - however we do not know which Table 2 row it is pulling from until we enter data in Table 1.
As I'm writing this I'm realizing that
A. this is probably really confusing to you.
B. this may be impossible inside of numbers.
If you have some other method that would facilitate the same out come but be structured differently please let me know.

I record the size of a piece of art.
Then I manually go to my "Option id Master" and find the same size.
I then copy the corresponding "optionids" and "productprice" cells. (these options control the prices displayed on my website)
I got to my "Export - Product Info" table and paste the values in the corresponding cells.
I was hoping to automate this as it takes a long time when you have hundreds of products.

Extracting data from ECC tables in BODS

Hello all,
I'm trying to extract data from ECC tables. I have created a data store and imported the necessary tables(FAGLFLEXT) that i will be using. I have used the table in a job as a source and tried to execute the job but i was only able to extract 28 records from the extractor when there are many more records present in the table and also when i view the data in BODS i can only see 28 records.
Plz help me in resolving this. How to extract the whole data?

The table layouts can be found in the [documentation for EPMA|http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/epm-data-models-11121-354684.zip] . If this doesn't work, there are other options to export hierarchies to text files. You can use life cycle management or the [EPMA File Generator|http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epma_file_gen_user/launch.html].
