View selector top left position

Hi Everyone,
Can somebody help me, for one of my Dashboard reporting(on OBIEE 11g), I am using 'View Selector'(two VIEWS, both are Pivot views) to show an Analysis report. One of the VIEW is really wide, 'View Selector' option is showing up at top center of the report. Is there a way, to show this 'View Selector' option at the top left of the report, rather than top center. I would really appreciate it.
This is my first posting, please let me know, if I did'nt explained it good enough.

Hi user,
Add a narrative view below the view selector to your report with the below script(enable Contains HTML Markup checkbox) .
<script type="text/javascript">
var leftJustifyVSelector = function (debug,align){
if (debug === 1) { document.write("Begining leftJustifyVSelector function"+"<BR>");}
// Get all view selector objects
var vselectors = document.getElementsByTagName('td');
if (debug === 1) { document.write("Get the TD elements"+"<BR>");}
if( vselectors == null){o
// Couldn't find a view selector
if (debug === 1) { document.write("No view selectors available"+"<BR>");}
return;
// Otherwise loop through them and align them to the left
if (debug === 1) { document.write("Looping over the view selects"+"<BR>");}
for ( var view =0; view < vselectors.length; view++){
// check if this is not a view select class TD element
if ( vselectors\[view\].className == null ||
vselectors\[view\].className == undefined ||
(vselectors\[view\].className != "VSelSelector")){
// Not a view select TD
if (debug === 1) { document.write("Not a view selector TD. Continue."+"<BR>");}
continue;
// We must have found a view selector change the alignment property
vselectors\[view\].align=align;
if (debug === 1) { document.write("Done setting the align property to left"+"<BR>");}
leftJustifyVSelector(0,"left");
</script>

    Hi Jeeva,
    I have came across the same type of the requirement and i found a new trick to over come this type puzzles in Obiee 11g. Below is the steps for the solution;
    1) Go the the EDIT VIEW of the View Selector
    2) Select the Caption position as 'Right' in the dropdown list.
    3) Go to the Format Caption and in the Additional Formatting Options, put some Right Padding say eg: 1000 or 1500 according to the width of your view.
    4) Select Done and save the view.
    Now you can able to see the view selector in the left top corner of the view and also you can able to do the same for the right most of your view by the same trick. The only thing is that the Label of the view selector is in the right side of the dropdown rather than the left, but that should be fine i guess.
    Please Excuse if its not relevant or the one that you are expected...
    Cheers & Thanks,

  • Left Justify View Selector

    Guys,
    I am running into some formatting issues especially with allignment.
    1. Need to left justify View Selector. I was able to left justify the caption but not able to move the "View seletor" Tried several things like adding size in the left padding and made the allignment left but that still remains in the centre. Only the caption moves left but i want everything left jusstified.
    2. I have two reports in my dashboard. The top report goes pretty widee and the user has to scroll across to see the bottom report which is pretty small. I am trying to left justify the bottom report so that it always stays completely left side so that user dont have to scroll. But looks like even though i changed the section properties in the "Edit Dashboard" it still stays in the centre.
    Can you guys advice if there are some style sheets or XML that we can modify to achieve this.
    thanks

    Hi Prash,
    Throw this into a text object at the bottom of your dashboard and check the enable HTML option.
    It'll left justify ONLY the view selector drop down box.
    Cheers!

    On my iPhone when I go on phone to view my contacts on the top left corner there is a circle with a arrow ( like a refresh icon ), just want to know what is it?

    That's exactly what it does, refresh your contacts. As an example if you add a contact on your Mac or iPad and you use iCloud to sync them altogether, then this can be used to refresh the contacts on your iPhone.

    the tool bar near top left corner, consisting of file, edit, view, history, tools IS gone. how do i get it back?

    In Firefox 3.6 on Windows you can hide the menu bar via "View > Toolbars" or via the right click context menu on a toolbar.
    Press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the menu bar.
    Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the menu bar or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide.

    I'm having trouble with something in firefox, it's quite minor but still bugs me. Last night suddenly when I right-click-view-images in firefox, they appear centered and against a black background. It's usually meant to be a white background and the image appearing at top left. I can't remember what I did to change this if it's my fault; if someone knows how to revert it I'd be thankful.

    cor-el : thanks for the pointers! I wish the solution isn't an add-on every time ... if such long-standing behaviour is going to change, the least that could be done is put in an about:config option to get back the old behaviour.

  • New icons always at top left of window

    When I create a new file or folder its icon is always created at the top left corner of the enclosing Finder window, even if there's already something there. In previous versions the icon would be positioned in white space somewhere, which was much more useful for me. I don't want to keep my icons sorted or otherwise automatically arranged, I'd like this behaviour classed as a bug and fixed.
    I've tried this on other machines and it seems to be the default behaviour.

    Hi, ueli — and Rev. Andy and Pam, should you happen to revisit this thread —
    b>(1) Apparently, you're not alone. Other have expressed problems with this issue — several posts in Will Mardis' "Icons of downloaded files overlap is an example. But I've never experienced it (I seldom use icon, or list, view), so I'll reply as if it were brand new...
    b>(2) Font compatibility?Is there any chance that a font compatibility issue is involved? You can check this using /Applications/Font Book, looking for duplicate fonts demarked by a "•" beside them and using Edit »» Resolved Duplicates. File »» Validate Font may also be helpful. From within Font book, Help »» Font Book Help explains...
    b>(3) View option settings?
    I've just tried to replicate the behavior that I think is being described — and I can't.
    I'll explain — just in case there's something helpful hidden subtly among my attempts that's helpful to you:
      (a) I created a new folder named "Testing" inside ~/Documents/ with "list view" selected
      (b) Since you've all mentioned icon behavior, I set its View »» View options as follows:
          • Icon size: 48 x 48; text size: 12 pt.; Label position: bottom
          • Show item info and Show icon preview are selected; Snap to grid and Keep arranged by: aren't.
      (c) I created three very simple TextEdit documents named Testing 123, Testing 456, and Testing 789.
      (d) I saved the first two directly into the "Testing" folder; the third I saved into ~/Documents/, then dragged it into "Testing."
      (e) I checked the folder after each "save." After the first file — which was naturally placed in the top-left-hand corner of Testing's Finder window — the other icons were placed ("in white space") at appropriate distances to its right. None overlapped, "took over" the left-hand-side, etc.
    (4) How are you doing this differently — if you are? Can you replicate what I've described — or help me to understand the problem definition more clearly?
    I honestly don't understand why some folks would experience this consistently, others, intermittently, and yet others not at all — unless it's solvable. Perhaps Mac OS X Feedback or BugReporter (requires free ADC membership) would be appropriate.
    HTH!
    Warm regards,

  • Filtering View Selector

    Hello experts!
    I have an assignment to do.
    I have a report that has a view selector of pivot tables (5 exactly). My question is: it exists any kind of filter (maybe another view selector) that when I click in one member of this "filter" it shows me 2 options of my view selector or if I choose another member of "filter" show me 3 different options???
    Thank you!
    P.D. I could solve my problem if I could include a view selector in another view selector.

    Hi,
    Yes you can do it, as you said by using a view selector that:
    I could include a view selector in another view selector.try this:
    1. create one view selector viewSelector!1 and add your 2 reports
    2. go on compound layout and add your view selector viewSelector!1
    3. add again view selector (it will create viewSelector!2)
    4. add your 3 reports in this new view selector..
    5. go on compound layout and add your new view selector viewSelector!2
    6. add again view selector (it will create viewSelector!3)
    7 go to advance tab and modify your xml by modify:
          <saw:view xsi:type="saw:viewSelector" name="viewSelector!3" rptViewVers="200510010">
             <saw:viewSelectorCaption position="left"/>
             <saw:viewList/>with
          <saw:view xsi:type="saw:viewSelector" name="viewSelector!3" rptViewVers="200510010">
             <saw:viewSelectorCaption position="left"/>
             <saw:viewList>
                <saw:viewItem type="view" name="viewSelector!1"/>
                <saw:viewItem type="view" name="viewSelector!2"/>
          </saw:viewList>8. set xml
    9.go on results and you will see your view selector that contains two other view selectors...
    10. modify this view selector to set correct caption and remove from compound layout the other static 2 view selectors...

  • I'm missing the "foxfire" button. It's simply not there and I need to re-import my IE favorites, but I can't becasue the new upgrade forces you, (me), to use a button that simply is not there at the top left where it should be but isn't.

    Well that's pretty much it. The foxfire help page, now that I've upgraded to the newest version says to look for the "foxfire" button at the top left which would be located in the blue bar that instead still tells me what the name of that particular page is that I am viewing, just as it always has but there is no "foxfire button there for me to click on in order to get my bookmarks, my favorites re-imported from IE version 6.0. I actually installed them via the instructions under foxfire version 6.0 a month ago originally without any problem, and then again on version 7.0 after I recently rebuilt this machine using windows 2000 professional and everything got imported Okay except for one file... And of course it was the most important folder, my favorites folder which I had named "business" because it was the folder which contained all my links that I need for "business". So naturally, I am eagerly awaiting a reply to tell me what it is that I need to do. Could it be as simple as I have not re-booted since I upgraded earlier today/yesterday? That actually IS a possibility I suppose because I don't remember re-booting afterward or being told to in or after the process of upgrading. After the upgrade, there simply was not any indication that I needed to. (As I recall anyhow!) It's currently one in the morning and that was twelve hours ago. But I honestly don't think that I was instructed to after clicking on "install" the new version. But if it did tell me to afterward, I'm sure I must have even though I don't remember it as my extensive history with personal computing and installing everything from hardware to software including operating systems tells me that if it had told me to re-boot, I would have.
    Thank you in advance,
    Eric G.

    You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
    Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
    If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).
    Once you are using the "Firefox" button ...
    Use the "Alt" key to view the menu bar (temporarily) containing File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help. On Windows 7 and Vista, the menu bar was hidden by default in Firefox 4 and above. These menu items are more or less available under the "Firefox" button which has the most used of the built-in Firefox menu items available in a different format.
    To get back to having menus again. "Firefox" button -> Options (second column) -> (check) Menu Bar
    You can make '''Firefox 7.0.1''' look like Firefox 3.6.*, see numbered '''items 1-10''' in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 thru 8.0, look like 3.6)]. • Cant click on or delete a file that sits in "Favorites" (top left) when I use Finder

    I want to delete a file from a list. Not sure how the filename  appeared in the location where it did.
    When I open "Finder", in the top left of the window there is a grouping called "Favourites". It lists "All My Files", "Main Drive", "Applications" etc.  It also now has this listed:  "IMG_0395 (deleted 4e56b607-752345.-89f546)". I guess it is a movie I previously deleted but not sure why it is showing up here.  I can't click on the item in the list (so therefore can't get rid of it).  Tried to include a screen shot here: file://localhost/Users/John/Desktop/Screen%20Shot%202012-10-09%20at%208.29.59%2 0PM.png

    Thx for that im gonna try it....but is there a way to do it without using toolbar or cmd-c...? i mean using only the mouse?why does it have to highlight the file even though i click a bit next to it....?using icon view i can right click next to the folder and i wont have a problem but with list view that i prefer using it will highlight the whole row.....and i dont find free space to right click cause i got many files

  • Report displayed in top left hand corner

    Post Author: hplloyd
    CA Forum: .NET
    Hi,
    I have a .NET 2 windows application using Crystal Reports XI release 2 SP2
    When I display a report in the viewer is is presented in the top left hand corner (rather than centrally)
    If I then change the zoom on the viewer the report moves to the center of the viewer control.
    How do I make the report open in the centre of the viewer when I first look at the report.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Well, I just took a close look at duplicating your issue; No go.
    As I mentioned in my previous post, unless you help me help you, we are not moving this forward. Give me detailed instructions on how to reproduce the issue. Give me a sample app that demos the issue. I am literaly pleading with you here to help me help you. So far I have only got complaints. For your information here is what I did:
    Simple one line app:
    Make sure the form takes up the whole screen (WindowsState = Maximized)
    StartPosition for the WinForm; WindowsDefaultLocation (tried others also)
    Code:
    Public Sub New()
            ' This call is required by the designer.
            InitializeComponent()
            ' Add any initialization after the InitializeComponent() call.
            CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = "c:\crystal\reports\formulas.rpt"
    End Sub
    I fooled around with docking, no docking, anchoring and still I do not see any issue. See screenshot of what I see.
    Now it's up to you to tell me what to modify to get the behavior you see. Also, let me know why the work-around given at StackOverflow.com is not acceptable. Perhaps that will help me understand the issue also. Finally, confirm that you have a default printer installed.

  • How do I get the orange firefox button to show up on the top left corner of my page?

    So, I've installed, and reinstalled the new Firefox 4. It seems like only half the features have shown up. For example, I don't have the orange firefox button in the top left corner. I also don't have the button for bookmarks. On every other machine that I've installed firefox 4 on has not had issues like this. I don't know why I'm having issues on my laptop. If there's a way to fix it, I would appreciate it. I don't mind how it is right now, but I do like the cleaner look and the orange firefox button, instead of the buttons that show up now that are labeled: "File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, etc."

    * You see the orange (on Linux gray) Firefox button if the Menu Bar is hidden (View > Toolbars > Customize or right-click a toolbar).
    * If you need to access the hidden Menu bar then press F10 or hold down the Alt key to make the Menu Bar appear temporarily.
