View Signed Form in Browser (instead of downloading it)

Hi!
For a week or so, we've been having the issue where going to a link for a signed PDF will automatically download the PDF to the computer instead of displaying it in browser. This happens regardless of the browser's settings for how to handle PDF files. Is there an option I'm missing that controls this behaviour?
For us, it is much easier to simply view the signed document (to verify it was filled out correctly), then have our browsers set to purge cache on exit, rather than having to delete hordes of downloaded files (and having to open them and then close them one by one).

Until this issue is resolved, a temporary solution I've found is to use this: InlineDisposition :: Add-ons for Firefox
"InlineDisposition changes the disposition of Content-Disposition response headers from attachment to inline; this prevents servers from forcing the browser to save a file and allows that file to be viewed in the browser, if the browser supports it."

Back up all data. Please read this whole message before doing anything, so you'll know what to expect.
Open Safari's preferences dialog and make notes of everything you would need to recreate the basic settings, such as your home page. That includes the settings of Safari extensions, if any are installed.
Triple-click the line below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
Quit Safari. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste (command-V) into the box that opens and press return. A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open.
Launch Safari. Its settings will have reverted to what they were they first time you launched it. Your bookmarks, history, and AutoFill data will be preserved.
Test. If Safari now works as expected, recreate its settings and delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, quit Safari again and put the file you moved back where it was, overwriting the newer one created in its place. Post your results.

Force safari to display pdf in browser instead of downloading

Most of times, my computer displays pdf within Safari browser window, which is my preferred way of viewing online pdf's. But sometimes it downloads it to the "Download" folder. I don't really understand the difference. Is there a way to stop Safari from download pdf's?

My criticism of your words was founded on a logical interpretation of your words. Your use of +"however, I usually..."+ basically said this to me: +"but I get around the problem altogether by... and you might also consider the same."+ You may wish to argue that I read too much into what you wrote, but that is how my mind works. As to the "site manager denying that capability" comment of your most recent post, I can only say that we don't know if the site manager really wanted us to download the PDF or view it in-browser. Some people throw together sites without thinking too deeply. And reasonably speaking, we cannot expect web designers to "code it properly." I want to view all PDFs in-browser, regardless of the coding.
Again, this is why one of my earlier posts in this thread mentions *Safari 5 extensions.* I've been using some of them lately, and they work magic. I therefore hope an enterprising extension writer viewing this thread might be inspired to write one that works around "badly coded sites" to empower Safari users to view ALL PDFs, from any site (however badly coded) to display in-browser.

Can I use the IRM feature (to restrict edit/copy/print) along with Web Apps (to view the file in web browser only)?
Will this ensure restricted download?

Set Adobe Reader iPad/iPhone app to just view pdf instead of downloading it?

I work for a financial company and it seems that some of our user's were having trouble viewing a pdf document that contained editable text boxes. The layout of the form itself would show, but none of the text within the text boxes would appear. So I tested the pdf out on my phone as well and did the same exact thing (layout shows, but no text). Since everyone was having trouble viewing the text within the document, I downloaded the Adobe Reader App and it worked perfectly. The only issue that I have is that since we are a financial institution, we get audited quite often and having documents stored on your phone is a big 'no-no' to the auditors. So I was wondering if it was possible to make the Adobe Reader App just view the pdf instead downloading the pdf to the application and storing it in the docs and the recent docs setting. A little more info on our part: We are running Exchange 2010, my iPhone is a 4S and it's running the ios7, and the iPad is running ios 6.1.03 (I think). Also, I did a little bit of searching but I could find anything but is there some sort of list that will say what does/does not work in regards to pdf's on iPhones or iPads? Any suggestions/help is very welcome and appreciated!

Hi Shradha and thank you for that information. Now is that only in regards to the Adobe Reader app or does that copy expand to all current pdf viewer apps on iOS? If it is only in regards to the Adobe Reader app, then do you know of an app that may have the functionality that I am looking for? I have tried searching for one, but I have been unsuccessful in my searches.

Allow a document to be viewed in the browser but not downloaded to the local machine

I have SharePoint 2013 deployed and RMS integration enabled. and am willing to install Office Web Apps. I want to enable users to view documents in the browser only but not be able to download them to their desktops. This would mean there is no "save
as" button in the browser-based viewer and no ability to download the documents to the desktop to be used with the desktop Office apps (word, Excel, etc.).
I understand that I need RMS and Office Web Apps to do this. Could someone please confirm if I'm able to accomplish the goal above and, if so, how I do it?

When you enable OWA. you can read the file online and edit it
The only way to allow users to read but not edit or print a file would be to implement Windows Rights Management. You can read about that here:

It won't be doable with SharePoint permissions only as, even with read only, the documents is still downloaded to the client cache to read and as such can still be retrieved from there.

Can I just "view" instead of "download" in Safari

I look at a lot of pictures in email on web-based Gmail. I would like to just "view" them instead of downloading them. Is there any way to set Safari preferences or otherwise stop my download folder from filling up (and then I just have to empty it . . .) Mountain Lion on a MacBook Pro. Thanks!

it seems impossible in numerical arrays.
however, if you can accept outputs in string format, then you may check the input numerical array for zeros and replace them with empty strings.
does this makes sense??

Cannot view oracle form on the browser... pls help...!

hi guys..
am new to oracle forms..
ma prob is that i've created 4 oracle forms using oracle 9i and i can perfectly run and view 3 forms. but when i compile and run the other form it does not display on the browser window. it displays just the java applet (which is just a gray area). i cannot c any components... pls could any one help me on this prob....???

FileReference: Want to force the browser to open a File Instead of Downloading it

Hello
I am using the FileReferece class for downloading a file. The download() method prompts for saving the file on the file system.
Instead of downloading a file, I want the browser to open it based on its extension. So if a file is test.xyz, then it should be able to open it using an installed application which understands to handle these files.
Any ideas on how this can be done.

Because you made a layer, and JPEG doesn't support layers.
Turn off the "preserve cropped pixels" option in the crop options, or just flatten your document so you can save it as JPEG.

Cannot view pdf files in browser

brand new imac cannot view PDF files in browser but the PDF's can be viewed if downloaded. All the data in the PDF online have question marks instead, maybe a missing font issue?

1. Firefox crashes every time I try to open QuickBooks online. I have submitted numerous crash reports.
2. When I click an email link on a web site, it opens a blank FF browser instead of an email program. I have set the default to Microsoft Outlook and also tried changing it to Gmail. Each time I click an email link on any web site, however, it just opens up a blank page instead of one of my email programs.

I'm not clear on where you are seeing that text. When I view Google's cached page from the page found in this search

It doesn't match yours exactly. There is an iframe with a Google map in it in the "Hosting Analysis" section, which in your pasted page seems to be the "Site Server" section.
