Viewer Bug Fix Update

Bob says a new Content Viewer will not be sent to Apple. I assume that this only applies to bug ridden v18 and when v19 is available we will have the regular Content Viewer (once approved by Apple)

Hi Graham,
That's correct. The fixes will also roll into the v19 viewer, which will be made available through the iTunes app store for non DPS-Pro/Enterprise customers.
The DPS team is on a 6 to 8 week cycle for releases; with this knowledge, you can estimate (incorporating Apple approval times) when a new the app-store version of ACV is available.

  • HT1688 I updated my iPhone 5C to the iOS 7.0.1 "bug fixes" update and it has made my phone glitch constantly and has just made it a complete nightmare. How can I go back down to iOS 7?

basically yeah, I updated my software because it said that iOS 7.0.1 was out as a bug fixes update and now my phone constantly glitches the **** out, its super slow, and it pretty much created more bugs than it did fix them. So how can I go back to iOS 7? because 7.0.1 is an absolute nightmare.

    Try updating to iOS 7.0.2.
Does your iPhone still have performance issues? Have you tried the basics?

    Hi Kevin-
I see on another thread that lots of folks are having this issue. Since a Plural Eyes workflow if very common, I would expect that your testers would check that out pretty thouroughly.
We have beta testers and QE engineering constantly testing out common workflows, including with third party applications like PluralEyes.
Regarding this issue: we tried to test those problems with PluralEyes in house after we heard about them, but have not been able to reproduce the problem. That's why we're collecting media and project files from users.
    rnaphoto wrote:
In the meantime, is there any way that folks can go back to 7.2.1? I think it would be good if Adobe would give us the option to go back when things go wrong.
Sure, I wrote a blog post about that: http://blogs.adobe.com/kevinmonahan/2014/01/29/revert-to-a-previous-version-of-premiere-pr o-cc-or-any-creative-cloud-application/
    Hope that helps you.

One really gets tired of dealing with these issues since they seem to be happening much more now that the CC allows fairly constant updates. Although constant updates may seem like a good idea to some, for many of us it seems like a lot of risk for not much gain since we are usually under the gun to get stuff done...
Sorry you feel that way, and not sure what other problems you were having, but most folks are enjoying the updates and not experiencing issues like that. FWIW, you never have to update if you don't want to.
    rnaphoto wrote:
But I can't emphasize enough that part of the updating MUST include extensive testing using common workflows. I could have told you you had a problem within 15 minutes of installing this update...
I'm sorry, Richard. Unfortunately, it's not that easy. We could not even reproduce the issue in-house. So, there must be something different with your system, media, workflow, that we have not found yet. We are investigating the issue thoroughly, and hope to have a fix as soon as we can.
    Thanks for understanding,

  • After Effects CS6 (11.0.3) bug-fix update released, enables running on Mac OS X v10.9 (Mavericks)

Adobe After Effects CS6 (11.0.3) fixes many crashes and other bugs.
    Details: http://adobe.ly/AE_CS6_1103
This update is required to run After Effects CS6 on Mac OSX v10.9 (Mavericks).

Thank you, Todd. I (and many others, I'm sure) are glad to see Adobe still supporting the older (purchased) software. Not a lot of companies do that sort of thing.

  • Captivate 3 bug fix Update?

I have recently updated to Captivate 3 and I'm encountering
    several issues.
Captivate crashes immediately upon opening. This happens
about half the time I try to open in.
Capture settings don't stick. I captured half of a lesson.
Ended it to go back and set up the software I needed to capture
properly. Then used "Record additional slides" to capture the rest
of the lesson and it changed from my custom settings back to
demonstration capture. So I had to manually go in and add click
    boxes, failure responses, etc.
Can't stop the mouse from being captured. I deselected the
preference setting and verified it in the recording settings for
"Show mouse location and movement". But when I finish recording
each screen has the mouse displayed.
I'm getting rather frustrated with the bugginess in this
release and figure others must be too. Has Adobe addressed these
issues? Or do the plan on doing so soon?

I recently submitted a list of bugs and enhancements. I also
asked the development team to see this board AND consult with the
Administrators of this Board for a list of top 20 items to fix. I
actually got a response that they would.
The one bug that I submitted was that "Tech Support is
defective." There are no patches and ongoing bugs. I noted that I
refuse to upgrade from Captivate 2 based on this lack of support. I
noted that Adobe could sell more software with a real patch program
and thus fewer complaints noted on this board. I pointed out that
this board is PUBLIC and that peope can see the problems and a lack
of patches. Thank you all for complaining LOUDLY, but perhaps
    LOUDER is needed.
If you read this, and you have time, PLEASE send in a bug
report that lists "a lack of patches" as the bug. Everyone in the
software industry does patches, but Adobe seems to do them only for
the leading sales products such as Acrobat, Photoshop, Etc. We have
    an orphaned product here.
On the other hand, the folks that routinely handle the
questions on this board are to be honored and commended for putting
up with bugs that are 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 years old.
Adobe can do better, they can patch this quarterly, just like
the rest of the venodrs do. Oh, but this is Adobe, what was I
thinking, it must have been a dream?

  • ColdFusion Builder lacking bug fix updates

I have to say that since the product was officially launced, we had one small update that provided a few fixes.
The question I need to ask is what about these more serious bugs that are stopping this product from being great?
There are about 30+ bugs listed on the bug tracker that have been there for over 18 months that are still major problems today, some of these I consider major and should be pushed to getting fixed as quickly as possible.
The number one pet hate of mine is wasting time with an Application that doesn't work correctly, so how does this affect ColdFusion Builder?
Lets look at setting up of servers on ColdFusion Builder, this has got to be the number one most used and needed feature of this product and yet it doesn't work and has so many reported bugs that I would have thought that these would be fixed by now.
If one is lucky, you can setup a server and start and stop this from within Builder. However I can tell you that even when you have it setup, it will stop working as well.
Lets look at what I have setup at the moment.
I have had ColdFusion 9 and 9.01 installed and still donot mange to be able to start and stop the server.
I now have a mutli server version of ColdFusion 9.01 locally, and was able to get this to work briefly. And now it no longer works, with no changes to any of the settings. Don't get me started on remote servers, these are even worser trying to get working.
And even if you do make changes to the server setup in builder, you have to close and restart the Application. This is not acceptable to me either.
I could go on about how much of a hit and miss this feature actually is.
So the question is if this a feature that people would want to buy this product, why is there no fixes for the problems that are still there after 18 months?

Yes they where, they were reported in ColdFusion 7 beta program, ColdFusion beta program and ColdFusion 9 beta program.
When it is reported that many times, and nothing is done what sort of confidence do you think this gives us users of the product?
During the ColdFusion 9 beta program, the cfgrid had many problems that had been reported in CF8 beta program and was again reported and we had been told it was fixed. Did it get released with the initial 9.0 version? No it didn't, did it get released with the 9.01 beta program? No it didn't.
Again what sort of confidence does this give people in this product?
I even fought hi and low with Adobe to get these grid problems fixed, not only did they break more things but it was not even backward compatible. Evey person I spoke to refused to fix it, becuase I did not have paid support. This even went as far as Adam, and Kevin Lynch because I got feed up with the fact that 9.0 got released and it broke our application to the point when we fixed one thing it broke another, to the point that we could not get at the source of ColdFusion to fix the problem.
Each and every time we were told there was a work around, and no work around was ever produced.
When 9.01 was released was it fixed? No it wasn't, in fact it was even worse. And the answer again from Adobe was that unless we have paid support it will not get fixed.
So Ray the answer is very simple, Adobe is not interested in providing more patches / hot fixes past the intial ones they have always released. Even it it effects people from moving upto the latest version...
I can provide many examples of emails from employees of Adobe, that say the same thing no paid support no fix. Now we have to wait another 2 years and wait to see if these problems get fixed, and to me I am sorry that is not an issue that one should have to endure. When talking to people about ColdFusion the same problems exist each and every time, the lack of support and problems that never get fixed puts people off from keeping on buying the product and they end up moving on.
I have been in two companies that began their days as ColdFusion developers, and both companies ended up moving on because of these problems I have outlined. I can understand a company like Adobe needing to make money, but at the end of the day they will continue to loose money because people will look at other options that are better supported, have more outfixes and updates.
The amount of updates that Microsoft release in 1 year is maybe like the same amount Adobe/Macromedia/Allaire have released in 15 years.
Do't take this the wrong way, but the debugger is buggy as hell. It works when it wants to and even to the point when you do get it working it actually gets slower and slower each time you run it. This has been a problem for now 6 years in this product and it has never gotten any attention, now that CF builder utilises this feature, I would have hoped that these bugs and problems got fixed. But they never did.
Every major release is about throwing new features into the product, but when it comes to issues like this do any of the previous versions that have these problems get fixed? No they don't, and even the current major release is not fixing any of these previous issues either.
The problem is one needs to draw the line, and stop putting features into a product that Adobe can't continue to support.
And till that changes people are going to continue to get rather annoyed with Adobe, and the more they get annoyed the more customers Adobe end up loosing. I don;t make my comments very lightly when I do make them, and after 15 years I have seen it all with ColdFusion and the one thing that never changes is the lack of bugs in older features that ever get fixed.
Sorry for the rant, but this is something that Adobe HAVE to address and address sooner than later. I know of 3 more companies that are moving away from ColdFusion, for more reasons than what I have outlined here.

  • Error in PSCC since today's "bug fix" update

Installed update to PSCC this morning.
Tried to run "Edit in> Merge to HDR Pro" from LR5 this evening, and I keep getting this message "Error: General Photoshop error occurred. This functionality may not be available in this version of Photoshop" I'm on a Mac Pro running 10.7.5.
Never had this issue before the update today.
Anyone know what's going on here, or how to fix?
    Tx in advance
    Jim

    Hi Brett and Chris
Over the weekend I did a fair bit of pounding around in HDR Pro with files from Bridge/ACR and from LR via both Edit in>Photoshop CC and Edit in> Merge to HDR Pro. My conclusion is there's no clearly identifiable route that produces good results, and no clearly identifiable route that produces failure. Outcome, positive or negative,  just seems quite random and unpredictable.
I tried both Julianne's methods of resetting the defaults. Both seemed to work at first, but the problem recurred on subsequent attempts.
The problem manifests either as one of the two  Error messages I quoted above, or in the failure of the Workspace to re-appear after leaving the HDR Pro screen. In the latter instance, I sometimes get just a completely grey workspace window, or no window at all (just my desktop, with the PS Menu Bar at the top). If I get the grey workspace, I can click the red button to close, and in most cases I then get the "Save" dialog - so I am able thereby to save out the 32-bit HDR file. So maybe this is PS running out of memory as you suggest, Brett: I'm running with 7GB RAM, and 69% allocated to PS, though, and while that may not be optimum, it's way ahead of the Sys Req for PSCC, and has never caused this type of problem in the past.
On Chris's question, I do have some Plugins installed. Under Presets>Automate I have CropPhotosAuto.plugin and HDRMergeUI.plugin, both I think installed by the PSCC Installer (?).
Also in the Presets folder are subfolders for Imagenomic>Noiseware 5 Plug-in> Noiseware.plugin, and a folder of stuff downloaded from Pixel Genius website which contains PhotoKit Sharpener 2.plugin, accompanied by PG Toolbox Previewer.plugin, PG-Processor.plugin and PixelGenius Toolbox.plugin.
The PG stuff is all latest versions specifically designated as PSCC compatible, and this applies to Noiseware too - both of them I ditched and replaced with fresh downloads on Saturday to be sure.
At the same time I dumped plug-ins for Genuine Fractals 6 and something called PhotoTools 2.5, but none of this made any difference.
I'm aware that my Mac Pro is showing its age (7.5 y.o.), and that PS does not rate my Graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 256 MB) very highly. Maybe the problem lies with my machine, then, and I do plan to upgrade soon..., but in response to Chris's second question, I've had no error messages when installing updates for PS, and I've run every version since CS (CS4 excepted) without any real issues
Maybe next step is Uninstall/Reinstall PSCC?
    Any other suggestions welcome
    Jim
PS: Scripts: see attached. I think all these were installed by the PS Installer

  • May Release: New partner support, Infrastructure updates, Site templates and bug fixes

    Link: http://www.businesscatalyst.com/_blog/BC_Blog/post/May-release-New-partner-support-Infrast ructure-updates-Site-templates-and_bug-fixes/
We are announcing a new Business Catalyst release, scheduled to go live on Thursday, May 3rd. With this release, we are continuing our investments in system performance and stability by increasing our web servers capacity, enabling HTTP acceleration to provide faster site loading times, and improving the site creation speed by using pre-generated sites.
On the product side, we have completely revamped our partner support workflow taking advantage of the Adobe support infrastructure and tools, enhanced the site templates workflow for partners, and included lots of bug fixes and improvements. Read through the following sections to get detailed information about this release:
    Partner support
    Infrastructure updates
    Features and enhancements
    Issues fixed by this release
    What's next
You can jump to the corresponding section by clicking the above links.
    Partner support
Updated Help & Support partner experience
Following Adobe ID support, we have upgraded BC  support tools (cases, chat, documentation) with standard Adobe tools. As a partner, you can now benefit from the same support tools as the rest of Adobe Creative Suite, and can track your support cases with Adobe BC, Dreamweaver, Muse or Photoshop in a single place.
Partners with more than 100 paid sites will get 2nd level chat support, which includes a higher priority, by default. If you have more than 100 paid sites, but spread across different Partner Portals, please ask support to enable 2nd level chat for you.
Support experience for your Small Business owner clients can now be owned by partners (see below).
Custom Help & Support URL for your clients
As a partner, you are probably already offering various additional services to your clients besides building & maintaining their BC site. Support, tailored specifically to your client needs, is usually one of these value-added services. We are now enabling you to take your Support service to the next level. In  Partner Portal Settings, you have the option to set a custom URL for what will open when your client clicks on Help & Support inside Admin Console:
If you have multiple partner accounts, for different verticals, you can specify a Support URL for each of these.
The default Support experience provided by BC for your clients will be updated in a few releases to be similar to the partner support experience. This includes BC-branded support cases and documentation. If you'd like to keep a white-label experience for your customers, please set your own Help & Support URL in Partner Portal.
For more details please read the Improved support workflow and new forums announcement on our blog.
    Infrastructure updates
Between our April release and the following infrastructure updates have been enabled
Limited trial sites for free partners – starting with our May release, the number of trial sites a Free Partner can have will be limited to 100. Once the limit is reached, Free Partners that need to create a new trial site have the options to upgrade to a higher partner plan, upgrade some of the trial sites to paid or delete unused/expired trials.
Automatic trial expiry extension - with this release, trial site expiry date will be automatically extended with 30 days every time an admin user logs in  the system through the admin interface or through FTP.
Installed additional hardware - we have installed additional web servers on all our data centers, that translate into an increase of the existing capacity with over 70%.
Updated DNS infrastructure - we have improved the DNS resolution for email delivery so that we can increase the rate at which we're sending the system operational emails
HTTP acceleration – all sites static assets are served from a new cache engine (images, CSS and JavaScript files, together with improved headers that should allow the browser to cache them better for a browsing session). This update has been turned on along with our April release, and has made all the BC sites load faster on first and on subsequent loads.
Accelerated site/partner creation – we've changed the way new sites are created for faster speed, pre-creating them and reusing pre-created sites when needed, and have also improved the creation process for new partners, minimizing the impact of new CCM customers on the existing datacenters.
Adobe ID for partners - in order to support an integrating experience between the various Adobe tools a partner may use (Dreamweaver, Muse, Support forums) we have added Adobe ID support for Business Catalyst partner accounts. Starting April 19, partners are asked to merge their current Business Catalyst account with their Adobe ID accounts. For more details about the transition process and FAQ please read the Introducing Adobe ID blog post.
Updated Terms of Use - Along with several other changes in our processes in the past few months, we also revamped our Terms of Use and the signature process by requesting every admin user to sign a TOU. We have completed the rollout for partners, and we might be pushing an updated partner Terms of Use version within the following weeks. For more details and questions about this change, read the New Terms of Use for Business Catalyst blog post.
    Features and enhancements
    Site templates
To support the increasing number of partners building, sharing or reusing  templates to create  new sites, we're extending our site templates support from our partner portal with a new template type and improved  management support. The update is going to enable partners to mark sites as templates and   choose between making them available in Online Business Builder and keeping them private in their partner portal. A template site will not expire and has the same limits as any other trial site.
Based on your partner level, you can create private or public templates using the Site Details screen or the Tools>My Site Template section from your Partner Portal. Standard partners can only create private templates, while Free Partners can only view site templates that have been transferred to their accounts by other partners.
The number of templates a partner will have will be limited and will vary based on partner level: free partners can store up to 5 templates in their partner portal, standard partners have up to 100 site templates while Premium Partners might have up to 200 templates. Paid sites marked as templates are not counted against these limits.
    Business Catalyst Partner fixes
While we are really focused on making the Business Catalyst integration into Creative Cloud a smashing success, we are slowly resuming our efforts to deliver fixes that have been requested by our partners. This release includes the following partner fixes:
Improved product custom fields - we have increased the maximum number of characters for product custom fields to 1024 (previous limit was 256); this gives partners and customers additional space to use when working with products
Improved Secure Zone subscribers list - we have added the customer email address in the Secure Zone Subscribers list to enable partners better filter and manage customers
Better experience when exporting data - to prevent customer confusion when exporting data from Mac computers, we have removed the export to excel option and exporting in CSV format by default.
    Social plugins integration updates
Starting with our May release, we are updating the social plugins support to require users to get the plugin code from the third party provider and saving into his Business Catalyst website. The module tags and configuration will remain unchanged, but will render an empty tag until the partner or site owner will  update the module template to include the corresponding module code snippet from the third party platform provider.
For more information about how you can enable the Social Plugins on a Business Catalyst websites, read the Social Media: Integrating Facebook and Twitter knowledge base article.
    Other changes
Updated weekly emails - Starting with our May release, the information in the site weekly emails has been filtered based on the site's plan. For example, webBasics site reports will no longer include the sales report.
Localization - we improved and increased the coverage of the admin interface translations into German, French and Japanese
Site Settings -> Ignored IP addresses has been relocated under Reports -> Visitors -> More.
    BC-Dreamweaver integration performance improvements
Development Dashboard has been removed, as it didn't provide a clear useful, ongoing benefit. The information present in the development dashboard has been integrated into our new Help & Support section.
Payment gateway settings - for more privacy and data protection, we have updated the Payment Gateway configuration screens to obfuscate the sensitive login information. Fields that have been obfuscated are now requiring confirmation.
Report abuse badge on trial sites - for compliance reasons, a "Report Abuse" link has been added to the front-end of all trial sites of free partners that don't have any paid sites. When they click the Report Abuse link, site visitors are redirected to a form submission page on businesscatalyst.com site.

    What's next
The first item on the what's next list might not be news for many of you, but it's definitely one of the most important milestones this year. The Creative Cloud launch is just around the corner, and Business Catalyst is playing an important role in that, as the publishing platform for Adobe® Muse and Dreamweaver. This launch will capture all our attention within the next weeks as we want it to be our best ever.
We'll start our next development cycle on May 15th, while the next Business Catalyst release is going to be pushed live in mid June. That being said, the following items are already on our launch plan for the next release and a few more will join the list. Please expect an update on our 2012 plans around mid May.
HTTP throttling – all page load and API calls to BC will be protected against attacks, this might trigger problems for API heavy sites. We are looking into enabling this update along with our June release, and will help make sure that a reasonable number of requests will be accepted from the same computer per minute.
Automatic site deletion - Starting with the June release, we are going to start automatically delete expired trial sites and canceled sites. Customers will be notified twice before we are going to proceed with deleting the sites.
    Thank you,

    Adobe Business Catalyst Product Manager

In reference to this change in the Custom Reports... Better experience when exporting data - to prevent customer confusion when exporting data from Mac computers, we have removed the export to excel option and exporting in CSV format by default.
What is the customer confusion we are trying to stop here? I've got even more confused customers at the moment because all of a sudden they can't find the export to excel option but know it exists if they log in on a PC?

  • Does anyone have problems occasionally with their slide to unlock on iphone 4s with the ios7 update? And do you think there will be a bug fix? Bit worried

    Hi everyone,
I've recently updated my iphone 4s with the ios7 update and there was a bug fix I also downloaded recently but I hadn't noticed anything wrong at the time. I know it's not happened that often today but does anyone have any problems with their 'slide to unlock' button and have to reload their iphone again? Do you think there'll be a bug fix for it? Just worried as it's not old and I have a feeling I shouldn't have bothered with the update at all.

Why would you think it's a bug?  If it were a bug EVERYONE would be having the same issue.
Basics from the user guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new.

After updating to IOS 8.0.2 on my IPAD2, I cannot print to my Samsung Wireless Printer. It worked great with last IOS version. Is there a bug fix?

    Try this:
    1. Turn the router, iPad and printer off
    2. Turn on the router and then wait 30 seconds
    3. Turn on printer and then wait 30 seconds
    4. Turn on your iPad and test print.
