Virtual Char - How Can I access report variable in COMMPUT method

I want to acess the Variables of a query in the COMPUTE method of a BADI for implementing a viratual characteristics.
Can some one let me know how this can be done.

How can I access global variables in a loaded script, in Xcode, ApplescriptObjC? Basically, I have a global variable defined in my parent script using "property", and I need to modify objects connected to those variables inside of a loaded script.
Example:
Parent script:
script AppDelegate
property myTextField : missing value
//linked to a text field object
tell myScript to myAwesomeHandler_()
end script
Loaded script:
on myAwesomeHandler_()
myTextField's setStringValue_("The new Xcode is so glitchy ugh")
//changes value of linked text field of parent script

The problem is, the variable is undefined in the Loaded script, and I need it to have the same value as the parent script, and I don't want to pass the variable through the Handler. Any ideas?

I think want you are looking to do will need to be done in two steps. Because myTextField needs to be a property for the ObjectiveC part of the code you cannot turn it into a global.
However if you make a temporary variable global assign the string to it in the handler then set myTextField off of it.

I know you stated you did not want the handler to return a value but I have to ask why? Global's, imo, are not a good idea and really should be used as a last resort.
One other possibility is to pass a reference to the property to the handler. Not sure if that works in AS of if that would satisfy our requirement of not passing the variable through the handler

Another though have you tried to define the property outside the script? That is

You can use SE38 as everyone above has suggested.check f4 or put " * " and search for which report you want.
You can alalyse the report fields and subroutines etc through the abap workbench or tcode SE80.

Accessing report variable

Hi, i am creating one function module, i need to return one internal table IT_OUTPUT, that is ok, the total logic for filling of IT_OUTPUT is written in one report, this ALV report which is used internal table IT_OUTPUT for grid display, Now my issuse is using this report how to get the data of output internal table ie IT_OUTPUT from that report. There is no export of output table in the report to memory and i don't want to change this report at all. How can i access the variable IT_OUTPUT into my function module.

Cut & paste the report code into function module, and kept only the code that deriving the IT_OUTPUT table .
or
change the report code and export the IT_OUTPUT table into memory and import in the function module
or
use Implicit Enhancment spot in the report and export IT_OUTPUT to memory

Not clear what you trying to achieve, try to go thru given info.
The statement 'select 1 from dual' in init blocks works using connection pool, but the same will not work in report since report understands Presentation Catalog objects.
In the report your query suppose to be like select 1 from Subject area where someColumn >0

The solution would only work on MS IE browsers, as other browsers do not support an XML DOM.
It can be done, but you would be stuck with using the Microsoft broswer. If that is acceptable, I have some example code, and a book recommendation.

How can I access the Attribute Values from the Search Region

Hi all,
I have a table which contains Company id, department id, and PositonId. For a particular Company and Department there may be multiple records.
I have to pupulate a table which contains the position and other details that comes under a particular Department and Position based on the selection in the Three comboBoxes.
Also I have to populate a select many Shuttle to add new postions and records under a particular Department.
I created a query panel *(Search Region)* for the serch and a table to display the data. That is working fine.
Now the issue is I am using a view criteria to populate the shuttle with two bind variables ie, DepartmentId and CompanyId.
If the serach will return a resuktant set in the table it will also pupulate the correct records, otherwise ie, if the if the serch result is empty the corresponding iterator and the attribute is setting as null.
SO I want to access the attribute values from the Search Region itsef to populate the shuttle.
I don't know how can I access the data from the Search Region.

Clarisworks, you need Appleworks, which will only work with Mac OS X10.6.8 or earlier. See this tip if you must go newer. Mac Pros with newer hardware configuration than July 20, 2011 can't use Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier without this tip and then it would be Mac OS X Server. I'm not sure if the new black Mac Pro supports that configuration or not.

Even though I make the variable as public /public static, I could get the value till the end of the run method only. After that scope of the variable gets lost resulting to null value in the called method/class..

Thread externally in a class or in a method. I presume you mean a member variable of the thread class and not a local variable inside the run() method.

I find it easier to implement the Runnable interface rather than extending a thread. This allows your class to extend another class (ie if you extend thread you can't extend something else, but if you implement Runnable you have the ability to inherit from something). Here's how I would write it:

Your main thread continues to run after the sathr thread is completed, consequently the output is done before the sathr thread has modified the string. You need to make the main thread pause, this will allow sathr time to run to the point where it will modify the string and then you can print it out. Another way would be to lock the object using a synchronized block to stop the main thread accessing the string until the sathr has finished with it.

How can I access to MyVariable by Sequence Context? Unbundle? It does't work.

On the TestStand palette there is a VI called TestStand - Get Property Value.vi. Use that. Attached is an image showing how to use it. The trick is making it produce the correct data type. Do that by right clicking on the VI and selecting Select Type. Then you can choose the type. I think in LV 2010 and TS 2010 it is a polymorphic VI and you can just change it.
