Visio "updating" file whenever it is opened on a new PC and making a mess

I've got a new PC with the same version of Visio that my charts were originally created in. Whenever I open a chart, I get an "updating" message and my chart is completely borked. names are deleted, box sizes shift, updates to the chart
are missing.
Is there any way to open these charts without "updating"?

Is there any other detail error when Visio updating files? If there is, please share it with us. I suppose if this Visio file is connected to other data source and select “Automatically Link”.
If so, we’d better to update the chart manually. Since the shapes are linked to data, the data is updated normally when you run Refresh Data, but only inside existing shapes. Refreshing the data does not add or remove shapes.
If there is anything I can do for you regarding this issue, don't hesitate to tell me.

Hi, I'm helping StringSinger2 with this problem.
The previously installed version is Pages 3.0.3 (the same as from iWork 08). This version (Pages 3.0.3/iWork 08) is incompatible with Pages 5.
That is why it would be helpful to install iWork 09, which is the version between the two. It will open the older 08 files, and its saved files are readable by the new Pages5.
SO...
When I try to install iWorks 09 from my retail DVD the error message is "the installer is damaged". (I know the dvd is good, I installed iWorks09 to my laptop today.) Is the "installer" part of the system files? And - If that is damaged is there a patch for that?

After I installed the latest version of ITunes I get a message saying I'm missing the SQlite3.dll file. I have even unistalled the new version and then re-installed, still same message.

With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.
Copy the SQLite3.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.
Restart the programme all should be well
In case that your OS is (64 bit)
1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
2. Copy file "SQLite3.dll"
3. Now paste it in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
4. Restart the programme, it should not display that message, it should be clear.

POSTURL opening PHP in new window (and shouldn't)

We are calling a PHP file from Authorware 7. Originally,
nothing would
happen when the php file was called and the server would time
out and act as
though the php file could not be found (with a 5006 error).
But we finally
realized that it wanted to open the php file in a new window
- with a popup.
We are using a normal posturl:
temp2 :=PostURL(NetLocation^"gSysSet.php","",30)
All the php file has in it is 1 line with a echo command.
Does anyone know why the php would open in its own window?
There was a posting earlier about POSTurl and php and we have
checked the
same things that they had in the php.ini file, but cannot
make it just
execute from Authorware and return a result - instead of
returning the
result in a new window. What happens is we still get the 5006
error in
Authorware because the result is returned in a new window and
opened in a
new window so Authorware isn't really communicating with the
php file.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Download the isntall file to your hard drive - don't install it over the internet.
If you are running anything Norton, turn that completely off before installing.

Please press alt and tab and using tab to scroll through windows and see if the window you opened exist. If this happens every time you open a new window you may want to try safe mode:

I want to know how to switch "open link in new tab" and "open link in new Windows" like it was in Firefox 3.

Sara, I started having the same problem yesterday. In my case I was able to remedy it by disabling FasterFox 3.9.81. If you don't have that installed, I would recommend turning off your extensions (one by one), restarting firefox, and testing until you find the offender. Hope that helps!

Opening links in new windows and paging thru them

Just got a new MacBook Pro and I've got a ? about Safari.
I've got my settings for opening up a new window when I command-click set for opening a link in a new window and making it active. On my old iBook G4 you would use this command-click and it would set up the next windows in the order that you opened them and keep them that way when you command-` thru the pages. Now it seems to just randomly page you thru. And if you close one window, it starts you going the other way thru the pages. Highly annoying and don't know why they changed this.
Is there a new setting I'm missing or something? Thanks.

Why did in the right-click menu the "open in a new tab" and the "open in a new window" -buttons change places? And can you change it back?

With the Firefox 4 RC, the "open in a new tab" and the "open in a new window" -buttons have changed places. It's quite annoying because I normally do it without even looking at it, but now it always opens in a new window instead of a new tab. Is it possible to change it back? Maybe in your own settings?

I've sorted it
All I needed to do was add my old e-mail address - not as the primary but as an alias. This allowed me to delete the account on my iPhone 4S and re-sign in with the correct e-mail address.

Whenever I click one of my bookmarks (not all), it always opens the BBC News page and not the original target page. Any clues anyone please?

In fact I just tried another and it opened the Yahoo home page. All the bookmarks in the Bookmarks Toolbar work fine, but anything outside of that doesn't. Mostly it opens the http://news.bbc.co.uk.
Any help would be much appreciated.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

I don't want to upgrade everything, especially not after reading about iMovie 08.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
