Visual Studio Sample Code for Web Services Integration

I am new to the CRM OnDemand web services and am looking to write an interface for querying and updating data. I have imported the .wsdl and got the log-in and log-out functioning but rather than re-inventing the wheel I was wondering if anybody had some sample code of how to work with the business objects such as Account or Contact.
I am using Visual Studio .Net (Prefer c#). Any sample would be greatly appreciated.

I found some examples in the Web Services Resource Library.
you can access this through the "Training and Support" link from within CRM OD.
Then click on "Web Services Library" then download the Getting Started kits

Hi,
I am new to Microsoft developing tools and I have spent the last two days trying to install VS Express 2013 for Web on my laptop that's running windows 8.1 (X64,Intel
Core i5 3337U (1.80GHz)).
I run it as an administrator and have enough space on the disk. However, I keep on getting the same error.
Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2013 for Web - ENU Fatal error during installation.
After uninstalling and deleting the temp files, I get an additional error.
Entity Framework 6.1.1 Tools for Visual Studio 2013
User cancelled installation.
In my log files here are some of the problems that I saw:

It maybe a registry or administrator issue.
Please install VS with administrator.
What's more, it maybe a corrupt registry issue. And you can't install any version of Visual Studio, I think you can use the tool to fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled. It also can fix the corrupted registry keys.

Can't see table data from Visual Studio Express 2013 for Web

Hello!
I have a problem and I can't see neither the table data nor the table definition for my database inside Visual Studio Express 2013 for Web, Server Explorer. When I right click it just says refresh, copy or properies.
Does anyone know what's wrong?

According to your description, I make a test on my computer and I am able to reproduce your issue. Firstly, I install the Visual Studio 2013 express for web successfully, create a project and connect to SQL Server database. Then I right click one table,
and I can see all the options including ‘Show Table Data ’, ‘Open Table Definition ’, ‘Copy’, ‘Refresh’, and ‘Properties’. Next, I uninstall the SQL Server data tools, and restart the Visual Studio, right click on table, and only find the three options
‘Copy’, ‘Refresh’, ‘Properties’ as the following screenshot, which is the same scenario with yours.
Based on my test, the issue could be due to the missing or corrupt SQL Server Data Tools. To work around the issue, you should install the latest SQL Server data tools for Visual Studio 2013. You could download the
ISO file for SQL Server data tools and extract the ISO files to your hard drive following the methods in this
article, and install the data tools. Please restart your computer after you complete the installation.

Does Oracle CRM on Demand support GetMapping method for Web Services Integration???

I am designing an integration package that will push contacts from my domain to Oracle CRM on demand contacts and vice versa based on mapping saved by users...
Please send some examples if this is still supported by Oracle CRM...
Or some alternative for getting the display name and the customfieldId from CRM (Admin)

AFAIK there is no such mapping available, however you may want to take a look at this Support Community thread that discusses the migration and even gives some samples.

Ben (support) - no that's not a time out concurrent connections are a little different then sessions and or connections. Lets say for an example you have 5 images on your site and 5 7 users come to your site this is not 7 concurrent connections but 35. They
do close after awhile hence why the 503 error comes and goes. You can have these connections close sooner using code but this is something you have to research using your favorite search engine

The link provided tells us : All Plesk accounts are limited to 200 simultaneous visitors.
From what Ben (support) says and a little extra research, if those aren't visitors but connections then it's quite easy to max out, especially if the connections aren't closed when finished using. I'd suggest forwarding this to Kasem to see what he thinks.

This isn't a straight FORM Post as in the http binding support in WSDL. It posts
a soap message.
It's apparent that Workshop supports form-post and form-get.
But I dont see how it is done with straight WebLogic webservices. Does WebLogic
server read the web-services.xml or the WSDL file? I dont see a way to put in
http-post binding in the former and in the latter it seems to be ignored.
Can someone clarify.

This might be a naive question, but according to the documentation, WL 7.0 does
not support http post/get bindings for web services. Thus, for me to access a
web service, I need to write a "middle tier" of some sort (I used the automatically
generated Java proxy code and JSP). All works fine, but it seems like it would
sure be nice to have HTML forms access web services without having to write a
middle tier.

According to the error message "User cancelled installation" and the log "Process exited with code 1602", it seems that it is you cancelled the installation that cause the install fail. Is that true? If yes, please reinstall
it without cancelling it. You can take the following steps:
Download "Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime" from
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42513 .
Run the downloaded vstor_redist.exe with admin.

Web Services Integration issues on Oracle Web Service Example Page..

The Oracle hosted pages for the Web Services Integration, all of the applications are dying when you try and run them. 1/2 of them are having ACL (Access Control List issues)..
Don't know if this is because of the change-over to APEX 4.0 or a new version of teh database being used, just though Oracle should know and they MIGHT want to fix them..

No JavaScript Intellisense in Visual Studio Express 12 For Windows Phone

I'm developing mobile app for windows phone using Windows phone 8 SDK (Visual Studio Express 12 For Windows Phone). I want to use code auto-Complete facilities when coding in Javascript. For that I need to use Intellisense for JS.
According to my knowledge, To configure Intellisense according to my knowledge,It have navigate to the [Tools] > [Options] > Text Editor > JavaScript > IntelliSense >
But in my [Tools] > [Options] > Text Editor > list there is No item called JavaScript.
Please help me for solve this.

I try to test it in my side, I could get the JavaScript Text Editor in my side.
So I doubt that it would be your VS IDE issue. If possible, please download it from the official site here:

And then repair your VS, test it again.
Or you could run the following command lines with the Developer Command Prompt of VS2012:

Visual Studio 2013 Express for Windows - InitializeComponent() does not contain a definition issue

Hi,
I have recently downloaded Visual Studio 2013 Express for Windows (Windows Store App version), with Update 1.
I create a blank app. I right-click on InitializeComponent() in the MainPage.xaml.cs and select Go To Definition. It brings me to the .g.i.cs file where this method resides.
I go into the designer for MainPage.xaml and create a grid of 2 rows and 2 columns (all at 1*). I add one button, doesn't matter where. I double click on that button to add a click method to MainPage.xaml.cs. Without entering anything into the button click
method, I scroll up and InitializeComponent() has an error and tells me there is not definition, even though I was looking at the definition a minute ago. I found I could unload the project and reload it and InitializeComponent() would have the definition
in the .g.i.cs file but as soon as I add another button click or anything else I run into the same error. It seems as if the .g.i.cs file is not automatically regenerating, or it is being deleted all together when the button click method is added to the xaml.cs
file.
Everything I have done up to this point is very vanilla. I installed VS '13 Express for Windows, didn't change any VS setting, created a project and ran into this issue. I installed Update 1 thinking there might be a fix from the update--no luck. The xaml
file Build Action is Page and the Xaml.cs file is Compile.
I have tried deleting the MainPage.xaml file, after the creation of a project, and adding a new MainPage file with the added templates VS wants to include, and I still run into the same issue.
I have searched for answers the past few days but haven't found anything that addresses my issue (most of what I found addresses VS '10 but their InitializeComponent() issues aren't the same as mine). Any help the MSDN community can provide would be
a great help. If worst comes to worst, I will re-install VS and see if that corrects it--this would be a last-ditch effort though.

Intellisense has a bug in VS2013 where it doesn't recognize InitializeComponent when you start working on the XAML. My feeling is that if you try to compile this app, it will run fine (as long as there are no actual errors).

Expose Object Oriented Service code as Web Services?

I would appreciate for your insight on this matter!
Web Services are basically RPC (Procedure Oriented) over Soap. Each service invocation by a client results a procedure execution on the server side (In many case, a service class may need to be instantiated before the procedure can be called).
Suppose I have developed server-side logics in Object Oriented manners. How can I expose the OO server logics as Web Services? Does JDeveloper handle OO services any different from PO (procedure-oriented) services as far as the generated wrapper code/interface and WSDL?
Specifically, I have the following example in mind. Assume we are able to successfully expose an OO services. A client calls one of the OO service (let's say service1 in portType1) the 1st time, and establish some transit state (not committing into DB), the same client subsequently calls another service (service2) of the same server portType1. How would the server retrieve the transit state established earlier by service1 while executing service2? (note, this situation would not be resulted in a procedure-oriented case. since each RPC call is independent from the others)
I realize that "stateful" deployment may be of an option. However, stateful seems relying on client cooperation (e.g., via cookies) to establish context across multiple invocations. This may or may not be possible given an arbitrary client parties write its client code based on a WSDL.
Another option I can think about is for Jdeveloper to generated different code for PO services vs. OO services. However, it seems not the case in current Jdeveloper.

Web services in general have two styles of invocation: RPC style and Doc style. RPC maps as you say directly to methods on Java class (or if a DB PL/SQL package to procedures and functions).
The alternative, DOC, generally (though not all the time) maps to a message oriented interface. Often DOC style Web services map to messaging infrastructure such as Java Message Service Queues and Topics.
That said RPC works well with EJB's, the component model for J2EE.
Often what folks will do is build a service layer that is very coarse grained when exposing backend infrastructure as Web services. This abstraction typically hides a more OO underpinning (or quite often hides a very procedural backend too).
The bottom line is the Web services do not force an OO paradigm but nor do they hinder you in any way from adopting an OO paradigm.
In terms of JDeveloper currently it supports RPC and supports DOC only with some tweaking. On the server side, the Oracle9iAS infrastructure supports both DOC and RPC.
Hope this is a start to answering what I think is a hard question to answer!
