VMs change OID and fails SNMP probe on ACE module

I am setting up least loaded load-balancing on a serverfarm. It seems to work fine when all servers have the same OIDs, but the VMs change OIDs for the CPU utilization every time they vMotion or reboot, and that causes the SNMP probe to fail.
Is there any known solution to fix that problem?

Hi Mark,
If the OID's change itself on servers then this is expected. I am aware of anything that we can do on ACE to update the OID's automatically.

If one defines "Changing" or "tables" parameters, they are treated as reference parameters.
It becomes obvious for "tables" parameters where one does not have option to check box for "Pass by Value". But for "Changing" parameters, they provide the checkbox for "Pass by Value". Even when you select this option, the function module seems to handle the parameter as a reference parameter (whatever changes you make to it in the function module are retained when you return back to a calling program).
My question is why then SAP has provided the checkbox of "Pass by Value" for "Changing" parameter?

Let me rephrase my question.
When I use the importing parameter (say as a table with a dictionary table type) with reference (not "passing by value"), and if I modify the value of the parameter, the calling program (which calls function module) receives the changed value after the call.
When I use the importing parameter with "Pass by Value" box checked, the modifications made to the table inside the function module is not retained after the code leaves function module and returns to the calling program.
My question is why not the same behaviour with the "Changing parameter" in function module definition?
And if Changing parameters are always reference parameters, then why SAP has provided the "Pass by Value" check box?

I searched the site, and I could not find the answer I was looking for, so If anyone happens to know or point me to a link I would greatly appreciate it.
Topic:
Can ACE module sent different Traps (oid) to different management station? Split decision processing to send specific traffic to specific stations, based on the alert it has detected.
Scenario:
Our network equipments have a demarc point on what devices are managed via SNMP (Traps, syslog, EMS, etc...); Routers, Switches, ACE modules, and so forth.
However, we are not responsible for the App Servers assigned to various broadcast domains.
Customer would like to receive Notification from the ACE module when a Real Server is taken out of rotation , when specific probes have failed.
My team manages the ACE module, so any alerts from the ACE will be sent to the management station configured in our network.
Unfortunately I do not have a Test Lab to test my theory, so any help would be greatly appreciated before I submit my Production configs.
Design Requirements:
Customer would like the following traps generated and sent to their management station:
1) Real Server host name
2) TCP port
3) Real Server IP address
4) If capable, percentage threshold for each real server, based on the prediction configured for each Server Farm
5) Can a NetIQ agent be download on the ACE module to communicate with the NetIQ management station?

Can a Custom TCL script be executed to sent an notification via SMPT if a health probe fails?
The SMTP message will contain the server info (IP address, Host name, TCP port).
The script procedure will execute certain actions based on the returned result.

If you don't want an EEM policy, then don't use any of the EEM constructs. Instead, all you need is this:

We are evaluation Oracle interconnect now. I treid to install Oracle Interconnect and it failed at changing Hub and Wf password steps. What should I do? Can I manually change those two passwords?

Are you using an infrastructure db with identity management? In that case from the infrastructure Oracle home type "oaidamin". In the tool you can find the encrypted passwords for ip and owf_mgr and change them.
If not, you can change them directly in the database. The schema names are oaihub902 and owf_mgr.

Depending on what you are trying to do, if you change the "userpassword" attribute the authpassword attribute is updated (it changes the user's portal password).

When i change password on a site, Firefox is pulling up and inserting my old stored password and failing to permit password changes. how do i turn this feature off?

i put in the new password, but when i push enter to accept new password changes, the old number of digits (blanked out) appears and the prompt "do i want firefox to remember the new password" appears. i want firefox to forget the old password and let me change it and quit inserting anything i don't ask for each time.

We followed steps mentioned in for integration. WE have two SoA instances, home, oc4j_soa.

But when we try restarting SoA, it gives error. If we replace the above to point to XML-based jazn then SoA starts succcessfully.

CSM 4.2(5): Reoccuring failed health probes

I've finally started to investigate an issue I have with our CSM setup. Several times a day I get the below syslog message from the 6500
10:49:11: %CSM_SLB-6-RSERVERSTATE: Module 4 server state changed: SLB-NETMGT: TCP health probe failed for server
Then a few seconds later
10:49:41: %CSM_SLB-6-RSERVERSTATE: Module 4 server state changed: SLB-NETMGT: TCP health probe re-activated server
I never seems to catch the event in action and can never verify if the real server is indeed failed or if this is only a probe timeout. I have both layer 2 and layer 3 server farms in operation and this problem occurs on all of my server farms a few times a day.
No pattern and I have no other indications of any problems. I have most of the probes set on 1 repeat and 30sec timeout. Increase the probe timeouts perhaps?

Those error messages are related to probing the CSM does when determining server health. For a TCP probe, this means that the CSM either gets a TCP RST from the server or it does not see a SYN-ACK coming from the server.

I have a problem that user feed 50-60 documents ( Sale order & delivery ) with wrong payer. Now we want to change payer and shift credit limit data ( open sale order , open delivery ) from old payer to new payer is any option for this.

Ideally in your case, you may have to delete the delivery documents and then recreate the deliveries after updating the payer in the sales order. This is because the source for the partner function in Delivery will be mostly updated as "from sales order" and hence it is not possible to change the payer in the delivery document.
In this case, you have to first find out the relevant delivery documents and delete them
Then you can change the partners in the sales order
Finally you can recreate the delivery documents.
However I would request you to do the following test before following this.
In the SO, change the payer without deleting the delivery. If the partner in delivery gets changed automatically then it is fine. You can ensure this by checking the delivery in DISPLAY mode.
If payer is not changing automatically then go to delivery in CHANGE mode and now check it. If the payer changes automatically now, you are spared with the pain of deleting and recreating deliveries once again.
If both of them fails, then the only way is to delete deliveries first, change payer in SO and then recreate deliveries.
This is applicable only if PGI is not yet done.

Apple's official advice is here... HT2905 - How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created. If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.

How can we get ADFSecurity work when used in OC4J, OID and OAM?

I am getting error in http server log "mod_oc4j: Response status=499 and reason=Oracle SSO, but failed to get mod_osso global context."
But I am not using Oracle SSO and my client doesn't want to use it either, I am using OAM SSO(CoreIDSSO) in my configuration. Please read the details below.
I am using ADFSecurity in an app that is protected by OAM. To migrate ADFSecurity permissions from
system-jazn-data.xml to OID, I used JAZNMigrationTool to populate OID with Grantees and Permissions. OAM gives login page, and authentication works fine.
But ADFSecurity is not working. ADFComponent Delete button is enabled even for roles that dont have permissions for the iterator delete.
- The app works fine when I use without OAM. ADF Security permissions work fine.
- The app works fine when used with OAM, but with ADFSecurity disabled (enforce=false).
- When I enforce ADFSecurity alongwith OAM, ADFSecurity is not working.
In the doc "Oracle Containers for J2EE Security Guide b28957", there is a mention of use of CoreIDPrincipal for permissions. Our OID Permissions entries show
LDAPRealmRole for attribute orcljaznprincipal. I am not sure if this could be the reason.
We have configured AccessServerSDK for the SOA instance and have policy for the urls in the policy manager. We have entries in orion-application.xml, orion-web.xml and system-jazn-data.xml as per the documentations.
How can we get ADFSecurity work when used with OID and OAM?

Have you been able to successfully integrate OAS with OAM & OID? We have similar requriement and so far we have not been able to get it working.
We have application specific roles which we map to OID roles using orion-application.xml.
Any pointers to achieve this would be greatly appreciated.

Creating a new context in OID and extending DIT

I am developing a portal. I need to create a new context in the OID and extend the DIT so that i can store Subscriber information in it. Please help me with the procedure, and sample schema.

You can't create a subfolder in Sent. Mail does this automatically for each account you set up. If you wish to organise messages you send by some criteria or other, why not consider a Smart Mailbox?
I assume by your second question you mean can you change the columns in the message viewer? Yes you can. You select View -> Columns and check the ones you want. You can adjust the order of the columns by dragging the titles around in the message viewer.
If you didn't mean this, maybe you could explain what you are after in a little more detail.
