Wallpaper clock application

Hi,
I am looking for an application that would show a clock when on my docking station so I can use my iPhone as an alarm clock and see the time in the dark.
Is there such an application? That would be very nice to get...

You can simply use an app like this (there are other clock apps on iTunes as well):

Set the Auto-Lock to Never in the Settings, then run the app. Any alarms you set in the iPhone Clock app will sound with the above app running.

IPhone Clock Application.++

Hi guys,
Listen to this, I've got an iPhone 3G white, version 2.1 .
From the very first time that I tried to run the default Clock Application.. I get the same negative result :
+It tries to start but in a couple of not even seconds but milliseconds... it stops and returns to Home Screen..+
I restarted it, I performed a restore... but I've got zero results. Same thing...
So, as you can understand I'm not able to use any kind of the Clock's services (stopwatch, alarm, world clocks...etc) and I really need them.
I don't wanna send it back to my provider cause I know the procedure.. I just wanna figure it out alone.. so.. you're my last hope
(What I also noticed the last two days is that when I go to "Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars and I try to navigate with the roll bar.. when I go to the last two options it does the same thing, returns to the Home Screen. I also noticed that in a couple of applications..like 'Texas Hold'em and iFutball'...but nothing can be compared with the Clock issue ...it cannot even start ...too bad ")

I had same and managed to fix it by doing:
1. Change language to something and change it back.
2. After that change region format to something else and change it back.
3. ???
4. Profit!
If you can go to "Time and Date" after that, it should work properly from now on.

It's not an Adobe font. We don't have the text of the license to be able to give you an opinion. What does the license say? If you have questions about a font distributed by Microsoft with Windows, why don't you simply contact Microsoft and ask them?

Nokia 6021 : I deleted the clock application. How ...

Hello,
while trying to free some space by deleting applications from my Nokia 6021 I ended up deleting a clock application, which was in fact the clock shown on the main screen of my phone.
Now I don´t have a clock on my 6021 anymore (in fact, I can have it as screensaver, but I like it shown in the main screen).
How can I get that clock back? Can I dowload it from somewhere in the internet? I tried to copy the application from another 6021 which had it, but got no success.

Well, 3 options, I guess: 1st, copy it manually (as what you did) from another mobile having the same model and firmware version… 2nd option, do the factory resetting thing (it may revive your clock in many instances)… if still no luck, here’s the 3rd option: flash your present firmware and install new one… I’m sure this will get everything back to normal… (hey, be reminded of those data that you are going to lost once you do the flashing… believe me, it’s more than clock function)
…err… can you tell us how did you deleted your clock from your main menu… it’s quite interesting, huh?
…actually, just for us to avoid the same mistake…

Clock applications when docked

I have an Apple Universal Dock and it seems to me that when the iPod touch (third generation 32gb) is on that dock, none of the alarms (with the exception of Apple's own app, Clock) work through the iPod's own speakers. They only sound through the line out port. This is a problem for me because my line out port is connected to my stereo speaker and it seems silly to have to leave the stereo speaker on all night just so that I can have an alarm wake me up in the morning.
Again, the only application that doesn't seem to have this problem is Apple's own app, Clock. What I don't like about Apple's own Clock app is that it's ugly and also doesn't allow me to choose my own music to wake up to.
Anyone know of a Clock app that actually can play sound through the iPod's speakers even when docked?

Hmm...is this not a widely recognised problem? I guess not? Or perhaps most people don't have docks so use the third-party clock applications simply with the USB cable attached (which won't reproduce this problem).

Clock application on N95

Don't know if anyone can help but if I try to access my clock (date and time menu) I get the message 'System error!'. This prevents me from being able to set alarms which is a little frustrating!
If i go the the time and date option and try to access the application, nothing happens......
Any ideas?!

I really don't understand, how can this problem persist after 4 years. I just got an N95 from a friend because my phone died. The N95 wasn't used for 3 years, so the firmware was really outdated. I've done an update, and I got this clock problem... Of course, there is a solution for it, but I'd rather see that Nokia has been working on this issue and I wouldn't have had to spend hours finding and applying a solution.
This thread isn't really helpful either; after factory restore, I had to manually find out which backed up info can be restored, and which can't be, assuming that I don't wanna get system error when trying to set up an alarm. After 3 factory restores (after the first one I restored the backup file completely... opening clock... system error. After the second one, I restored the elemets one by one, and after each one, I checked wether I get system error. The third restore came after finding out that SETTINGS stored in the backup file shouldn't be restored, because I got system error after restoring them.) I can't beleive it's an unsolvable problem for software developers, I think they simply give.
So people, may any of you have this problem:
1: backup using PC Suite.
2: factory reset (it might be a good idea to save music, images, vids, etc. on your pc from the memory card and format it as well. Applications installded should be restored one by one, manually)
3: restore the PC Suite backup file, but DON'T RESTORE SETTINGS FROM IT!!!
Your phone shuold be fine after this.

Help with the desk clock application

hi there, our cell phone sleeps with nothing but a dark screen. So instead of the dark black screen, I'd like to activate the desk clock so that I can always see the time without having to on the phone. Is it currently possible on the xperia Z1?

My problem exactly, JimmyJames!
Smart Connect allows automatic starting of the "Alarm & Clock" app from either the DK31 Charging Dock, the mains charger, or both, but not the Desk clock itself without dropping down the menu and selecting "Desk clock". What'd be nice would be to be able to go straight to the Desk clock as soon as the Z1 is placed in the DK31 dock.
In any case, there needs to be some way of turning off the "sleep" mode for this app once in the "Desk clock", as it promptly reverts to the blank screen once sleep mode cuts in. Makes it all rather pointless!
As you also say, "Daydream" does not give either "Alarm & clock" or "Desk clock" as options.
Any way to achieve an automatic "Desk clock" display that doesn't go to sleep?

Applications will not update

Hi,
Whenever I run an app and it tells me that there's a new version, i try to get it; it downloads fine, I click 'install and restart' and it comes up with an error message like "xxx does not have permission to write to the application's directory . . . "
This is pretty well identical to this post: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1481444&tstart=164 and this post: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7156649
However, I've run the commands at those posts verbatim, and I don't get any errors when I run the commands, but installing the update still doesn't work; I even tried restarting after running the commands. This is a fairly new computer and I am new to Macs, but I'm comfortable with *nix. The applications are not in disk images, they are in the applications folder. I don't think updating an app has ever worked for me, so this is (most likely) not because of something I changed. I know I can just download the new version of the app, but I'd really like to have this working properly.

Displaying GMT time in clock app

Hi,
In the clock application, how does one show GMT / UTC time? In the World Clock part, there is no city listed as GMT/UTC.
Some people have suggested that Reykjavik be used. That's a workaround. Is there a better answer, or can I submit a feature request? I am running 10.3.1.1767.

If I am not mistaken the original request intended to ask for a possibility to diplay real UTC/GMT.
In WInter the time in London is the same as GMT, but in the summer the UK is using summer time. The clock for London would show GMT+1 then.
According to this Wikipedia entry Iceland is using GMT+0 all year round.
On a BB10 device this is problably the closest you can get right now.
It would be nice if Blackberry could and an extra UTC entry to the list of cities/time-zones.

Analog clock -- with numbers?

I like the analog clock on the external screen of my Style, but it can be difficult to read at a quick glance, since it has no numbers, and the 5-minute marks are all the same size.
Is there any way of having a clock that looks just like the current analog one, but has numbers at least in the 12-3-6-9 positions?

ITunes Alarm Clock with Airplay

Up to a year ago, I had an alarm clock application which I got from the App Store that did a nice alarm clock playing one of my iTunes play list at a certain time in the morning.
Then I moved my computer from my bedroom to my office. So I can't hear the iMac from my bedroom. Ok, so I got a set of speakers that can be invoked using AirPlay from iTunes. As a manual operation it is exactly what I wanted. However, the alarm clock application has no option to set the Air Play option on iTunes. If I run iTunes and select my Air Play speakers, when the Alarm clock plays a Playlist, iTunes resets the output to the Computer. <Sigh>
A few months ago, I found a script that would set the Air Play output device and run a play list. I was set. However, I found no option to run this on a schedule. Since Mountain Lion, the option to run a script from a calendar event was removed. <double sigh>
Someone suggested Keyboard Maestro which looks like an excellant application for many things. However, at that point, Apple released iTunes 11 which I installed. Now I find that the scripts I found on the internet to select Air Play and a particular device via Apple Script no longer works with iTunes 11. <now I'm up to groan>
Playing around with Keyboard Maestro, I found a way to record a script within KM that will allow me to manipulate the U/I of iTunes with keystrokes and mouse clicks to do what I want. Problem solved??
NO. It turns out that the macro I defined in Keyboard Maestro works just fine EXCEPT that if the Screen Saver if running, KM cannot do U/I actions (this according to KM's author who has been very responsive to my requests for support). He is not sure there is any way to do it.
I'm experimenting to verify this statement by turning off the Energy saver options to turn off the CPU and display and not do Screen Saver. If that works then I have narrowed down my issue. I should know tommorrow (I did a test last night but forgot to display the Screen Saver and so it didn't accomplish what I wanted).
Does anyone know how I could solve the problem? Is there some kind of program I could run that would turn off the Screen Saver when run so the U/I is up and running again when the script I have would work?
Any other ideas?

World clock doesn't remembers saved locations

This is a problem with the world clock that has been unaddressed with all the firmware updates I've installed since buying this phone in December. After saving international locations around the world for quick reviews through out the day in the world clock application, I find that it's forgotten the saved cities every few days... Dear Nokia, what's going on? Seems tragic to have such a beautiful looking Nokia after ages but with all the glitches. Slim, elegant, comfortable in the hand, Audi like finish and build quality but so flawed Nokia you were and are better than this!

Is there an alarm clock app that ignores other notifications while you're sleeping?

my bb had an alarm clock application that was awesome - it "held off" all notifications that i would get during the night until i turned off my alarm clock in the morning. so, all the email notices, late night text messaging, facebook "pops" all were silenced and I could get a solid night's sleep keeping my phone on for the alarm app. does the iphone have such an app?

its already that way...
just put it on silent, the alarm still sounds.
my vibrate is off when in mute so it doesn't vibrate either-
but the alarm works when the phone is on silent. just make sure the ringer volume is up.

Native Alarm Clock interrupted by push notifications

I have an iPhone 3 GS with the latest ( as of 3/1/2011 ) IOS installed. The Clock application has 3 alarms set to go of each Weekday, 15 minutes apart , using the default alarm sound. This is designed to make sure I get out of bed for work in the morning, even if snooze or "ok" the first alarm.
Environment:
My iPhone is plugged into the charger ( can't have it not wake me up due to dead batt)
Home Screen is in the foreground ( no apps open )
Screen is locked ( but not passcoded )
Alarms are set, the first one has snooze enabled, the 2nd and 3rd do not.
For the last 2 days, the 1st alarm goes off, I swipe to unlock the screen, the popup message disappears, and the alarm sound stops. Note that I am not given the option to snooze or acknowledge the alarm, as soon as I unlock the phone, the alarm turns off.
The next 2 alarms do not sound. If I fall back asleep ( like I usually do ), I wake up by myself, am late for work, and generally have a bad day.
Has anyone else seen this issue? I've tried a multitude of alarm clock programs, but I always come back to the native one since it's the most reliable. I literally own 3 alarm clocks but prefer the iPhone for that purpose.

I verified the issue. When my TextFree application notifies me ( popup message ) that I've received a new text, and then alarm goes off before I unlock the phone screen to view it, the alarm will not sound.
I turned off notications for TextFree last night, and this morning( day 3 of 3 of testing ) the alarms that I set up worked perfectly. This issue might be true for any program that can do popup notifications, but my texting program is the only one that gets a lot of traffic.
