File Adapter - NFS - Windows NT

I am trying to drop file into another server.
Both PI and Target Server are in Windows environment.
From PI Server, I am able to reach target folder  from Windows Explorer (
<Target IP>\<folder> )
But when I give the same path in File adapter its shwoing error "Target directory '
<Target IP>\<folder>' does not exist and cannot be created
If I give path as ''C:\folder' , its creating in C drive of PI Server
I mapped the network drive (
<Target IP>\<folder> ) into Z drive and gave the path as "Z:\folder', I am getting the same error does not exist and cannot be created
So how do we give path in file adapter (NFS) for a different target server ?
Any other config required in making target folder as shared ?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I mapped the network drive ( <Target IP>\<folder> ) into Z drive and gave the path as "Z:\folder', I am getting the same error does not exist and cannot be created.
If you already mapped <IP>\<folder> as the virtual Z drive, then just use Z:\ in your communication channel.
In case this does not work either, you can also use the FTP transfer protocol to access an external server from PI. The name is somehow misleading, because the target server does not have to be an FTP server, it can be any resource, and FTP is just a transmission protocol there.
Hope this helps,
Greg

    HI,
I need access from an file adapter type NFS to a shared folder on the SAP ECC server. This is possible?. Users who are connecting to assign permissions on the folder. To access a Unix NFS from Windows you can install "Microsoft Services for Unix". Those are free of charge provided by Microsoft.

  • Physical Path in File Adapter for Windows Server

    Hi There,
I am trying to read a file from a directory on a windows server and write it to the same server in a different directory.
In the file adapter I gave the value for physical path as below:
    "\\10.xx.34.xxx\Share\input".
However I am getting below message in the debug:
"Value specified for input Physical/Logical Directory is not a directory or is not readable."
Hence my question is what should be the value in the physical path for windows server.

    Thanks for your reply again.
Actually they are not on the same file system.
I have successfully used FTP Adapter to connect to a UNIX server.
However is it possible to use FTP Adapter for Windows Server. If so how should be the corresponding JNDI defined.
I am getting below error when I use FTP Adapter for Windows Server:
Unable to send file to server. [Caused by: A remote host refused an attempted connect operation.]
    ; nested exception is:
         ORABPEL-11429

Please ensure 1. Specified remote output Dir has write permission 2. Output filename has not exceeded the max chararters allowed by the OS and 3. Remote File System has enough space.

    Hi,
Based on my research, the issue is a bug in Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2. It needs some time to figure out the proper fixes, so please wait for a future patch. If there is a solution or workaround, I will post it in this thread.

  • File adapter(receiver) to generate file in remote windows share folder?

    Hello gurus,
1.Is that possible, to use the file adapter(NFS) to generate a file in a remote windows share folder?
How can i specify the target directory field?
2.Another question, when i specify the target directory like rootFolder/subFolder, then the file is generated in the folder
    /usr/sap/XID/DVEBMGS00/j2ee/cluster/server0/rootFolder/subFolder.
Why did it put my path as sub-folder of /usr/sap/XID/DVEBMGS00/j2ee/cluster/server0?
Can i put it in another place? or even start from the root?
    Best regards, Charlie

    > 1.Is that possible, to use the file adapter(NFS) to generate a file in a remote windows share folder?
This is possible only, when your PI system is installed on Windows OS also.
    > How can i specify the target directory field?
The same way as you access it from your Windows Explorer.
    > Why did it put my path as sub-folder of /usr/sap/XID/DVEBMGS00/j2ee/cluster/server0?
Because this is the working directory of the Adapter Engine
    > Can i put it in another place? or even start from the root?
Yes, of course. Why you do not simply try it?

  • In Sender File Adapter hw to creat a temp file in srce fldr aftr msg proces

    Hi All,
I have a scenario where I am having sender File Adapter(NFS), the steps are like this
    1. The input file needs to be processed and get archived with the same name in archive folder.
    2. After file get processed I have to generate the blank file with abc.done in source folder
Kindly help me the configuration steps that needs to be carried out in creating the Sender File channel for creating abc.done file after message processing.
    Thanks in advance
    Harish

That can be done easily with an OS command.
When your PI runs on Windows server, you can use:
    cd\ >
    <path> \abc.done

  • MQ to File: How to send a Filename from JMS Header (MQ) to a File Adapter

    Hello Experts,
I have a flat file coming into PI via JMS adapter (MQ) and going out on a File adapter (NFS). We would like to keep the file name consistence throughout the transaction. While coming from MQ our sender is sending the filename in one of the MQ Headers (JMSCorrelationID). We are trying to figure out how to read the file name from the MQ header and send it to the file adapter. Please let us know any other suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Mayur

Use this UDF code in MessageMapping.
    try
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration)
    container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey KEY_JMSCorrID = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/JMS","DCJMSCorrelationID");
    DynamicConfigurationKey KEY_FILENAME = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
    conf.put(KEY_FILENAME, conf.get(KEY_JMSCorrID));

  • Flat File to Flat File Scenario using File Adapter

    Hi Experts,
In my scenario, requirement is Flat File to Flat file through File Adapter in PI. At sender end, we would need to use Sender File Adapter (NFS) and receiver end we would need to use Receiver File Adapter (FTP). File would be coming as a encrypted format, and the file needs to be sent in encrypted format.
Any idea how to proceed with this requirement would be helpful.
    Thanks and Regards
    Soumya

    Hi Soumya,
You need to choose the FTP in the "transport protocol" option. Then in the FTP connection parameters choose the option Connection Security and assign the value "FTPS for control and Data Connection". Then the "Command Order" will show up below that option and you could leave the default value itself. If you are using Public private key certificates of X.509 then you could choose the option "Use x.509 certificate for client authentication" and assign the values to the "keystore" and "certificate & private key" fields.
Note: To use the FTP with SSL you need to add the CA certificate to the TrustedCAs keystore view.
    Regards,
    Vishnu.

  • Sender File Adapter picking the same file twice

We are facing a weird issue with File Sender Adapter
We are using PI File Adapter ( NFS ) to read files for a NFS folder and
processing those in PI.Normally it works fine. But for a scenario we
are noticing it sometimes process the same file twice before archiving,
    thus duplicating the financial postings.
    What we have is :
File Sender Adapter - NFS, Polling interval 60 secs, and Processign
mdoe Archive. File name includes Wildcards - JE_Upload*.txt
what we are noticing is that :
when it picks up a file, it immediately polls again to check for
another file, and sometimes the file is not yet archived so it picks up
    and reprocess the same file.
If you see the message below, both belong to the same file, and it
picked up the same file again in 12 secs after processing it the first
    time

    Anyone seen this behavior before?

    Hi,
Please check the script which creates file in source NFS Folders. There is possibility that script is making change in file when PI is picking up the file.
When PI picks the file first time it creates one message ID in system. After that if script is making any change in file without file name change (This need not necessary data change), for PI it becomes new file and new message gets generated in PI for same file.
This error normally comes when File adapter is not able to archive file succesfully. For eg. file with same name alredy exists in Archive folder.
File adapter generates the new message id whenfile get modified(eg.change in its length or data change) even though
the file name is same and when file get change ,XI file adapter thinks that its new file and hence generate the new message id for same file.
If file has same name and notmodified then XI adapter will not generate new message id and will keep on throw the error till you remove that file with same name from the
    archieve directory.

  • PI Sender File Adapter OS Commands not working

    Hi Guys,
I have very simple scenario. we are using PI 7.1 with EHP1 on HP hardware with JDK 1.5.2*.
We are processing XML files through Sender File Adapter(NFS) to Idocs. We also need to move some pdf documents to target folders on the same box (basically Sender and Receiver files/foders are mounted to PI OS hence I am using NFS)
I am trying to put a simple OS command copy and mov command.
in the Before Message Processing: cp /tmp/*.pdf /tmp/out/
And in the After Message Processing: mv /tmp/*.pdf /tmp/archive/
In the Adapter Audit logs says these commands are executed but I don't see any effect and there is no error/Traces available even in the Server logs also.
I have been using these OS commands since XI 3.0 I never had any issue.
I have gone through SDN but no luck, Please share your experiences.
    Thanks,

    hi ,
As i understand your requirement you just want to take the pdf file from one folder of XI server and put it to another..
for this u do not need a OS command..
This requirement is simple ..infact u do not need any IR components as well..
u just have to develop the ID part and wherever it asks for namespace or message interface u can give a dummy one..
this would jst take the pdf file from one folder and send it to another

  • FTP Receiver File adapter  -- CRLF In output File in Windows environment.

    Hi All,
Idoc to File : Receiver File adapter.
I use the endseparator 'nl' and the output file is coming correctly with NFS and It is not working when we are doing with with FTP.
    Tested with NFS (Unix environment)
I used the endseparator 'nl' and the output file is coming with CRLF.
    Tested with FTP (Windows environment)
When I tested the same the output file is coming with LF.
I tried by using the module "SAP XI Sample/ConvertCRLFfromToLF" which will convert from LFToCRLF.But it is serving my purpose.
Can anyone please suggest how I can get the CRLF in the file while putting in the output directory which is in windows environment.
    Thanks
    Seema

Do not mention endSeparator in content conversion parameters...by default XI puts newline as endSeparator
It should work for NFS and FTP on Windows

  • Problem with NFS file adapter using a network share as source of files

    Hello,
I have set up a sender cc with NFS format file adapter, with at the source directory a network share (
server\sharename ). The share is on another system and not mapped to a local drivename, but it is open for everybody.
The problem is, the adapter seems to not pick up the files in the directory, so there must be something I'm overlooking.
    - Both servers run on Windows
    - Share is available normally and open for everybody for all actions (including the SAPServiceSID user)
    - Files themselves are okay. If I put a file on a local drive and make the source directory the local drive instead of the network path, the file gets processed correctly
    - Because of the need for a file completion check, FTP is not an option
Does anybody know what is going wrong, or what I could check for trace / logging info on possible cause of the problem?

    Hi,
While using NFS mode you are supposed to put the file on XI server directory NOT to a common share directory of any other machine. And this is the reason your adapter in not picking the file.
You can upload the file on XI server directory by using the tcode "SXDA_TOOLS", morevere you can check the file on the same directory with tcode "AL11". It is otherway-around, you can first select or chose the dir by AL11 and then put the file in the same dir by tcode SXDA_TOOLS.
If you need more info about SXDA_TOOLS, let me know.

  • XI3.0 Receiver file adapter write to windows shared drive

    Hi,
Our XI server SP09 currently runs on windows 2003 server,  I wish to use the receiver file adapter to create a file on another windows server.  I have created a folder on the other server and set permissions so that anyone can read and write to it.
The communication channel has been set-up with a target directory of //server/shared_folder/folder and a transport protocol of 'File system(NFS)'
When I try and send an XML message to the file adapter I get the following error on the runtime workbench :-
Last message processing started 09:47:10 2005-06-09, Error: Message processing failed with java.lang.Exception: Message processing failed - configuration error in file receiver adapter (Directory does not exist / cannot be created)
My questions are as follows :-
    a) Do I have the target directory on the communication channel set-up correctly?  i.e. do I use / or \
    b) What username will need to be set-up on the other server so that the file adapter can write to the shared folder
    c) Is there another way of providing user and password information for connecting to the other server?
    Many thanks

  • File Adapter using NFS

    Hi all
I am using the NFS option in File adapter. The file is being placed in C:\TEMP folder and in the directory path i have specified
ipaddress\TEMP but when i watch it in Adapter Monitoring it shows me a error C:\TEMP does not exist.
Please suggest if any settings need to be done.

You need to put the file on application server by TCode SXDA_TOOLS. I guess you are putting the file on your local machine.
First of all into XI goto AL11 and chose one source directory, and give this dierectory name in your CC as it is, no need to put ip address as you have done.
Just see the below example to put the file on application server (XI) directory.
The porcedure to put a file on server is as shown below:
    1. Save your file in your local machine.
    2. In XI server, enter the tranaction code "SXDA_TOOLS".
    3. In the input screen, enter:
    i) Object Type "DXPROJECT".
    ii) Program Type "BAPI".
    iii) Program "CREATE".
    4. Press Copy (Ctrl+F5) button.
    5. Now, you will get another screen in which you will see 3 blocks called as "Source", "Target" and "Copy with/without conversion".
    6. In Source block, choose the radio button "Presentation Server" and then take F4 help to select your source file. (file which you have saved on your local machine)
    7. In Target block select the radio button "Application Server", check the box "Remote server" and take F4 help to select your application server.
    8. In the same block under "File Type" select "P physical file name" and under "File Name" write the path/directory name which you have mentioned in your communication channel along with the file name.
<b>Example:</b> suppose file name in your Comm Chanel is "demo.xml" and directory path is "/abc/testfiles/XML/", then in step 8 write "/abc/testfiles/XML/demo.xml".
<b>Note:</b> need not to do any thing in 3rd block.
