Want to know if my mac has been hacked or if someone is signed on?

Hello,
I've done a shell command "n" and "netstat" and here are the results. Can anyone tell me if someone is singed on or hacking my mac?  Thanks so much!  This is actually just half of it.

There are two main classes of connections reported by netstat, Internet and Unix sockets.  Internet connections are exactly that; Unix sockets are used by processes to communicate with each other and do not leave the computer.
All of the Internet connections marked CLOSE WAIT are in the process of being torn down.  They are all connections to Google...I'd guess you had just closed a web page connected to Gmail or Google Docs, perhaps?  The ESTABLISHED connection is to Apple.
The Internet connections whose Foreign Address is *.* are not connections, they are server processes listening for connections from the network.  Primarily a Time Server (NTP), Windows file services (NETBIOS) and Bonjour (MDNS).
All normal, even if sharing services are not turned on.
And, without intending to be rude here...if you don't know how to interpret the results of running the command, then you don't really understand the command.  At a minimum you should read the man page; if there are still things that are unclear, google it, or ask in the forums.  But it's better to ask the right question (how do you interpret the results of running netstat) rather than a more sensational question (am I being hacked).  You'll get a better answer with less "noise" in the responses.
In the meantime, you may find this helpful to begin understanding netstat: http://www.unix.com/ip-networking/131165-netstat-output.html

  • How do I know If my computer has been hacked?

    I  think my Mac just got hacked into. I was working on a doc. that had personnel information- names. Phone #s and my home street address. my mac book pro froze up and when it unfroze, all of the names, phone#s and my address changed to ?/-\|# After I stared at the screen w disbelief for less than 1 sec. Word closed it down. After 2 min. Word brought the 2 word doc. I was working on back onto the screen. I looked at the personnel info, and saw the names, phone numbers and my street address in numbers and words. It looked like as if nobody touched my Mac. What should I do? I need help badly. If my computer has been hacked, the information they took, can they steal identity, credit card #s with just phone #s and first&last names besides my street address. I havent touched my computer since thus happened. I'm my iPhone. Should I turn off my computer? Also ididnt save the doc. I was working on. a box came up and said "this file is read-only. To save a copy, click OK and give the document a new namein the Save dialog box( AutoRecovery save of document1)". What should I do? I'm not making this up. I watched everything without realizing what happened. Should I have turned my computer off while it was in the middle of the proscess? Help! Help!

    You have not been hacked.  Something went wrong with Word and it crashed, and something must have reopened Word.  (The system will usually ask if you want to reopen a crashed app...  did you see such a message?)  Word must have simply reopened the docs you had open when it crashed.
    It's actually quite difficult to hack a Mac, and pretty much requires you to help out by opening it up for potential access by hackers.

  • How do I know if my Mac has been infected with the virus

    I recently was asked to download an Adobe Acrobat reader update but before I was made aware that the current virus was contained in a similar request, I downloaded what I assumed to be a legit update.  I currently do not use my mail program on my Mac so am unaware of any spam being distributed from the computer.  How can I identify if my computer has been infected with this Trojan Horse virus?

  • How do I know if my computer has been hacked into?

    I am having two issues with my iMac. One is with my wireless -- in the past few days I've received a few times an IP address error, which seems to be solved by renewing the DHCP lease and restarting. Also, at the login screen when I restart, it takes two tries to log in -- on the first one, my password only partially registers and the screen "bounces", then the second try works. Could this mean that my computer has been compromised? We had some workmen alone in our flat while we were away recently, so there are a few people who've had access to the physical machine as well. Thanks for any help.

  • I would like to know if my phone has been hacked in any sort of way.

    I found two contacts of people in my contact book who I never added into it. I then got a new phone, but a few days later the same two contacts reappeared. Both of the times that I have found them on my phone the numbers have included contact photos. Also my data use has spiked through the charts this past month so I've become a little more suspicious. When I brought the contact thing up to the guys at my closest phone store they said they never heard of such a thing so I became more worried. If anyone knows or has any answers please let me know! It would be much appreciated!!

    Someone would have to have possesion of your iphone for a period of time in order to hack it.
    Has this happened?

  • How do I know if my laptop has been hacked?

    I was logged into my Facebook account. My friend started a chat...at least that's what I thought initially. I got suspicious and kept quite. That's when he told me he was a hacker. He will find out about me. Then he started rattling off where I was logged in a while back...where I am now...my telephone number...he said my Mac is with him...all of it....
    What does he mean? Is my account hacked? Can he see all my files, etc on my Mac. How do I solve this issue if this is actually true. Please help somebody! This is scary! Mnay thanks in advance!!

    Hello Matt,
    Thank you so much for your advice. I have now re-set all my passwords to be on the safer side. I have also checked System Preference - Sharing. I ddn't have any sharing services on.
    My "friend" is my best friend....we were on Skype earlier. Then he said he was going to sleep. He never logs out from all his accounts. An hour later from his Facebook account I received a chat message "y u online". Pretty innocent and I replied surprised why he was online. Below is some of what this person wrote.....
    am just a hacker......... u can talk, it is safe

    Just a while when my best friend woke up he was surprised to know all this happened last night as I had text him. His account is hacked for sure. The person wrote my Mac is with him. Do you think he could have hacked my account too? How do I know? How can I know?
    Thanks,
    M
    PS:- The above chat scared me as he also reeled off where I was logged in from as well as my phone number!

    Greetings,
    I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
    At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
    The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
    I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
    You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • How to Know, No. of Rows has been Update, throught Triggers

    Hi all,
    I am having problem in after update trigger. I want to know How many rows has been updated by a sql statement, for that I have written on (AFTER UPDATE TRIGGER ON EMP). But it is not giving any result. I am executing Update statement from
    Sqlplus (UPDATE EMP SET SAL=23 WHERE EMPNO=7369;) We cant use Commit, and dbms_output.put_line in trigger. thats why I have used exception.
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER EMP_UPDATE AFTER UPDATE ON EMP
    DECLARE
    NO      NUMBER;
    NOROW      EXCEPTION;
    PRAGMA      EXCEPTION_INIT(NOROW, -20101);
    BEGIN
    NO:=SQL%ROWCOUNT;
    IF NO<>0 THEN
    RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR(-20101,'Some Rows UPDATED');
    END IF;
    END;

    Hi Sachindra
    What SQL*Plus version you are using?
    Some versions that come with forms6i they dont write the number of rows updated, they just write operation 44 succeeded or something like that.
    But if you use the SQL*Plus database client (sqlplusw.exe or sqlplus.exe) which those 2 get installed with the db you will be able to see the number of rows update/deleted/inserted
    SQL> conn scott/tiger
    Connected.
    SQL> DESC EMP
    Name Null? Type
    EMPNO NOT NULL NUMBER(4)
    ENAME VARCHAR2(10)

    MGR NUMBER(4)
    HIREDATE DATE
    SAL NUMBER(7,2)
    COMM NUMBER(7,2)
    DEPTNO NUMBER(2)
    SQL> UPDATE EMP SET SAL = 23 WHERE EMPNO = 7369;
    1 row updated.

    Hope this helps

  • How do  offcard program know whether the applet has been personalizated?

    The offcard program want to know whether the applet has been personalizated. if Y . the offcard program don't send the personalization command to the applet. anyway to inqury the applet state in offcard program. thxs

    I don't know what card framework (OCF, JCOP tools or other) you use.
    For the JCOP tools framework it is very simple. Connect to your applet by creating an instance of the com.ibm.jc.OPApplet. This class has a method called public int getState() wich returns "the applet privileges" in form the flags NOT_AVAILABLE, LOGICALLY_DELETED, INSTALLED, SELECTABLE, PERSONALIZED, BLOCKED and LOCKED.

    In Finder something called 'vuuno' has suddenly appeared under Shared. I didn't knowingly connect and want to remove. Worried I've been hacked or something. What is this and how to remove permanently?

    If you are using an unsecured or shared wireless network, then it could be just another user's computer name. If your sharing settings are correct, you have no worry. the software update on my mac has been going on for like 3-4 hours and it still looks like it loading... don't know what to do about it?

    Hi, Welcome to the forums,
    Is it the software update checking that you are talking about?
    If its this can you just select 'Cancel' to stop it? or force quit?
    It possible that the computer has lost its connection to the Apple servers and just needs to restart the process.
    Or,
    Is it a particular software update that you are running that has frozen up?

  • How to know that a method has been called and returning value of a method

    Hi, everyone! I have two questions. One is about making judgment about whether a method has been called or not; another one is about how to return "String value+newline character+String value" with a return statement.
    Here are the two original problems that I tried to solve.
    Write a class definition of a class named 'Value' with the following:
    a boolean instance variable named 'modified', initialized to false
    an integer instance variable named 'val'
    a constructor accepting a single paramter whose value is assigned to the instance variable 'val'
    a method 'getVal' that returns the current value of the instance variable 'val'
    a method 'setVal' that accepts a single parameter, assigns its value to 'val', and sets the 'modified' instance variable to true, and
    a boolean method, 'wasModified' that returns true if setVal was ever called.
    And I wrote my code this way:
    public class Value
    boolean modified=false;
    int val;
    public Value(int x)
    {val=x;}
      public int getVal()
      {return val;}
       public void setVal(int y)
        val = y;
        modified = true;
         public boolean wasModified()
          if(val==y&&modified==true)
          return true;
    }I tried to let the "wasModified" method know that the "setVal" has been called by writing:
    if(val==y&&modified==true)
    or
    if(x.setVal(y))
    I supposed that only when the "setVal" is called, the "modified" variable will be true(it's false by default) and val=y, don't either of this two conditions can prove that the method "setVal" has been called?
    I also have some questions about the feedback I got
    class Value is public, should be declared in a file named Value.java
    public class Value
    cannot find symbol
    symbol  : variable y
    location: class Value
    if(val==y&&modified==true)
    *^*
    *2 errors*
    I gave the class a name Value, doesn't that mean the class has been declared in a file named Value.java*?
    I have declared the variable y, why the compiler cann't find it? is it because y has been out of scale?
    The other problem is:
    Write a class named  Book containing:
    Two instance variables named  title and  author of type String.
    A constructor that accepts two String parameters. The value of the first is used to initialize the value of  title and the value of the second is used to initialize  author .
    A method named  toString that accepts no parameters.  toString returns a String consisting of the value of  title , followed by a newline character, followed by the value of  author .
    And this is my response:
    public class Book
    String title;
    String author;
      public Book(String x, String y)
       { title=x; author=y; }
       public String toString()
       {return title;
        return author;
    }I want to know that is it ok to have two return statements in a single method? Because when I add the return author; to the method toString, the compiler returns a complain which says it's an unreachable statement.
    Thank you very much!

    Lets take this slow and easy. First of all, you need to learn how to format your code for readability. Read and take to heart
    {color:0000ff}http://java.sun.com/docs/codeconv/html/CodeConvTOC.doc.html{color}
    Now as to your first exercise, most of it is OK but not this:   public boolean wasModified()
          if (val == y && modified == true)
                return true;
    y being a parmeter to the setValue method exists only within the scope of that method. And why would you want to test that anyways? If modified evaluates to true, that's all you need to know that the value has been modified. So you could have   public boolean wasModified()
          if (modified == true)
                return true;
       }But even that is unnecessarily verbose, as the if condition evaluates to true, and the same is returned. So in the final analysis, all you need is   public boolean wasModified()
          return modified;
       }And a public class has to be declared in a file named for the class, yes.
    As for your second assignment, NO you cannot "return" two variables fom a method. return means just that: when the return statement is encountered, control returns to the calling routine. That's why the compiler is complaining that the statement following the (first) return statement is unreachable.
    Do you know how to string Strings together? (it's called concatenation.) And how to represent a newline in a String literal?

  • How to know if a file has been updated in iCloud after modification?

    How to know if a file has been updated in iCloud after modification?
    I work on various app including Keynote on my Mac Pro. And after modification, i close file and I wait.
    When I see no more Internet traffic. I assume that keynote has uploaded all the works I have done into iCloud.
    But when I open the same file on my iPad on the way to work. I do not see the file updated.
    I assume that I did not wait long enough.
    I wished I had a way to enforce the updated file to upload and way to get confirmation that it has been completed.
    In windows I simply push the sync button.
    But for iCloud I do not yet see anything like that.
    Please help.

    you would be better served asking this in the iCloud discussion, where users are more knowledgeable about iCloud. Replies on iOS and iCloud issues are usually unanswered here because of our lack of knowledge.
