Want to make site that looks like this

Here
I want to be able to make that blue top part that gets bigger
or smaller depending on whose looking at it. Any help on how to do
this?

All you need to do is view the source code for the page and
then deconstruct
the page accordingly. If you do that you will find this is
the background
image used for the body:
http://commissions-blueprint.com/images/bckg-grad.jpg
and this is the CSS used to apply it:
body {
background-color: #efefef;
background-image: url('images/bckg-grad.jpg');
background-repeat: repeat-x;
note the background-color declaration; it sets the color to
the value of the
color at the very bottom of the image (bckg-grad.jpg).See?

  • Possible to make a chart look like this?

    I'd like to make a chart look like
    this.
    Is this possible and if yes with which chart type and
    settings, or if no, could someone point me to
    some tutorial or guides how to draw custom shapes and line
    with flex?
    thanks,
    Mickey

    Hi Tony,
    Fisrt it's sure to use datetime, date and time range as a dimension for
    crosstab.
    The default type of ORDERDATE is Date, so you should define a computed
    column in dataset: expression is row["ORDERDATE"] type is Date Time or
    Time. Then using them in your cube.
    If you want display like:
    Jan 1, 00:00 to 11:59 x1
    Jan 1, 12:00 to 23:59 x2
    Jan 2, 00:00 to 11:59 x3
    you should make sure that the ORDERDATE dimension is a Regular group but
    not a Date group. Because the Date group can not set the static level. Do
    you know how to set the regular dimension? In cube builder, when you drag
    ORDERDATE column into Groups, there will be a selection dialog pops up,
    you just chose the regular group is ok. Then you can define your static
    levels to display x1, x2 and x3. There is another way but now we didn't
    open this feature now, the date level will suppport user to define its
    interval(range), but the display is only the number of hour but not 11:59.
    see bug
    #189340(https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=189340)
    Second, chart can not using the cube's dimension as an axis, chart only
    can use the dataset as its data source, please see comments #3 in
    bug#192853.
    Regards!

  • What app do people use to make their pictures look like this

    what app do people use to make their pictures look like this?

    Apparently redchainsaw answered back saying that wasn't it. Though looking at the pictures I see nothing odd or special about them.
    With that said however, there are many image editors in the App store, and the Instagram App does have several filters you can apply to the photos.   So its very possible that is it.

  • I would like to delete a google pref cookie that re-establishes itself instantly even when I am on a blank new tab that looks like this: PREF ID=eb1514ca52c9d

    I would like to delete a google pref cookie that re-establishes itself instantly even when I am on a blank new tab-- it looks like this:
    name: PREF
    content: ID=eb1514ca52c9d753:TM=1403658310:LM=1403658310:S=CQKzVsy8LHiPFFmX
    domain: .google.com
    path: /
    send for: Any type of connection
    it might be helpful just to know what it's doing, since I don't have any google/gmail/youtube accounts...

    What page are you using for your new tab page? Is it completely blank or is it the page with the thumbnails, but with the thumbnails hidden (in that case, there usually is a grid-like icon on the upper right side of the page)?
    You can check the current setting here:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''newtab''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click the '''browser.newtab.url''' preference and enter your preferred page if it isn't what you want:
    * ''Page thumbnails (default)'' => about:newtab
    * ''Blank tab'' => about:blank
    * ''Built-in Firefox home page'' => about:home
    * ''Any other page'' => full URL to the page
    Press Ctrl+t to open a new tab and verify that it worked. Fixed?
    But... extensions can override this setting. If you are getting a page other than the one you specified, that could be explanation.
    Any luck?

  • Adding an iWeb calendar that looks like this... (link provided)

    Hello
    I would like to know how to add a calendar that looks and acts like the one on this site. It just shows the month and the number of the day and that is all. I do not want all the iCal features that everyone talks about on various discussions on my website. I just want it too look like the iCal app and obviously works properly, very simple. Can anyone help. Thanks
    here is the example:
    http://www.nwpublishing.org/

    For the month use
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var d=new Date();
    var month=new Array(12);
    month[0]="January";
    month[1]="February";
    month[2]="March";
    month[3]="April";
    month[4]="May";
    month[5]="June";
    month[6]="July";
    month[7]="August";
    month[8]="September";
    month[9]="October";
    month[10]="November";
    month[11]="December";
    document.write( month[d.getMonth()]);
    </script>
    For the day use:
    <script>
    var mydate=new Date()
    var day=mydate.getDay()
    var daym=mydate.getDate()
    if (daym<10)
    daym="0"+daym
    document.write(daym)
    </script>
    Change the size, color and font to suit your needs. You'll have to place the two widgets over the calendar image to get what you want. Also resize each snippets window without hitting the Apply button afterward to make sure the longest month name will not be cut off and the same for the date window.
    See this demo page: Date/Time.

  • How do I make my terminal look like this?

    Hello, I'm trying to figure out how this guy made so his terminal look the way it does.
    I've searched around some sites but I can't really figure out what to look for as I don't know the name of the application or what it really is, just that it looks like that.
    http://sites.google.com/site/gotmor/dze … xmonad.png

    Rob (the dzen dev, IIRC and BTW) is probably using urxvt as a terminal. The prompt is a two-line prompt like this one, you'll need zsh for it. Also, he uses XMonad, a tiling window manager, which doesn't draw any window decorations, so there's no close/maximize/minimize buttons or title bar. Good luck getting into them all, you're in for quite a journey.

  • How to make fluid that looks like paint?

    hello
    what is the best way to create paint-like fluid effect? i've tried to use Particular with aux emmision and Newton but it does not look like paint.
    I want to have two effects - first - paint just flows through the screen and 2nd - paint come out of the small circle.

    RedGiant People have lots of Particular presets to play with.  You'll probably never get a true photorealistic result in Particular, but here are some options:
    http://people.redgiantsoftware.com/explore/presetdetail.aspx?presetid=2088
    http://people.redgiantsoftware.com/explore/presetdetail.aspx?presetid=2074
    The best way is to film real paint yourself!
    Alternately, Footage Firm is selling some paint splash footage very cheap at the moment - About 20 HD clips for under 9 bucks, delivered.

  • How to make blog that looks like Wordpress or Blogger

    I LOVE the functionality of iweb's blog in terms of placing photos from Aperture and iphoto, but I want to be able to have all my entries on one scrolling page with the archives separated by year/month like other blogging software. I read that I could use Yahoo Pipes, but I was completely confused. Is there anyway to get what I want, or do I have to choose which is more important? Thank you!

    Thank you for all the input! I will put a link to my site so you can see what I am looking to do. If I move to wp or b then I don't think I can have the same layout. This aspect is very important. I successfully made a yahoo pipe, but it isn't doing what I want. I'm waiting for some technical help. Otherwise, I think I will just add a new entry for each month so at least people will be able to see all the entries for the month. It is not as clean as wp or b, but it will have to do. If you have any other ideas--please let me know. Thanks!

  • Want to make a glowing ribbon, like this...

    I am trying to find the right combination of filters and effects to apply to a shape to get the glowing ribbon effect as shown below. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Linear Light works well. [**see below for opacity]
    To do the ribbon effect:
    Add a Camera (go into 3D) [or reset an existing camera to the default view]
    create a rectangle that's about 4-8 times taller than wide
    create a bezier line (create bends here and there [start with 2 like a sine wave]) > type Return to "finalize" the line (otherwise Motion will try to close the "curve")
    set Brush type to Image and drag the rectangle onto the Brush Source well ["hide" the rectangle if it doesn't automatically do so]
    set the Brush Width to 100 to start (you can play with this setting later)
    drag the spacing slider until all the gaps are closed (think you can go all the way down to 5% - you don't want any telltale vertical "overlap" lines either)
    set your brush Color (optional - see Color over stroke below)
    In the Properties tab, rotate the bezier line 'X' 90 degrees [or -90 depending on how you want the ribbon to be arranged in z-space]
    In the Shape tab >
    In the Stroke panel > check Local 3D
                               > Check Align Brush Angle
    turn down the Brush Angle disclosure triangle to reveal the XYZ
    for X set to -90 (my habit; 90 will probably do, but for many other types of these 3d transforms it is usual to rotate properties X one direction and the shape orientation X the opposite)
    To rotate/position this ribbon in space, select the group and use the group's params
    after positioning, you can go back into Shape > Stroke > Stroke Color Mode > Color Over Stroke
    you can use this feature to create "lighting" effects for the curves by lightening/darkening your basic color tints. You can also adjust the **opacity of the ribbon with the opacity controls on the Color Over Stroke gradient control.
    Some caveats:
    brush strokes are rasterized, which means you cannot mix this shape with other items in the scene in 3D space (you can fake it with Layer Order and masking). Rasterized shapes also do not receive lighting effects.
    To get the same kind of ribbon effect as your sample, you might have to duplicate the original bezier line twice and align a copy at the bottom and top edges of the original, and change the strokes to some other type (probably airbrush) and manipulate the blend (opacity and/or blend modes) [remember to animate the ribbon by group controls… a three line arrangement will stay aligned that way.]
    Hopefully, that will get you started...

  • How To Make My Photo Look Like This?

    I was really inspired by a music video on Youtube. (Ellie Goulding - Goodness Gracious - YouTube) Very nice effects and all so I tried to make one of my photo like the photos above. I tried Neon Glow Filter but it doesn't really seem like these photos above.
    How do I give my photo this kind of effect? And what to call this effect? Would you give me any advises? Thank you!

    Experiment with changing a layer's influence on your image with the "blend if" sliders in the layers blending options. (drag the sliders, alt-click to separate the sliders and make smooth transitions). the green image in your example, could be as simple as adding a plain layer with a blue-to-green gradient and changing the "blend if:grey" to only show in the darkest shadow colours of the image underneath.

  • How can I create a button that looks like this?

    Hey everyone,
    I'm trying to create a button in photoshop for a web project I'm working on and I found something similar to what I'm trying to do already being used online. I'm trying to get something similar to the bottom row of buttons in this image:
    The bottom row of buttons uses a gradient overlay effect... but there is a small darker area in the top left corner of each of those images. It looks to be exactly the same in each image... meaning I'm guessing it's not hand drawn with something like the burn tool?
    How would I go about doing something similar? What's the easiest way to reproduce the effect shown above keeping it consistant from button to button?

    One way is using layers.
    Color layer on the botton so changing colors simply change color layer.
    Place all your image effects on the overlying layers.

  • Is there any way I could make my Dock look like this?

    Hey, so I've been thinking about potential other shapes of the Dock, frankly the straight one is a little stale, and placing it on the sides just doesn't look good, especially on a Mac Mini with two monitors.
    So, I came up with this, and was thinking two things: Clicking on the white upwards-facing arrow next to name and profile picture (penguin) would kinda push the name/pic upwards, with a column of gray linen below. Embedded in the background would be the options normally available in the top-right corner of the screen.
    (Wi-fi, sound, bluetooth, language)
    Also, moving your mouse over the arrows would scroll the Dock around the circle at increasing speeds until the mouse was moved away.
    Hot corners would need a small fix for this though.
    If anyone takes this idea into consideration, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    Woah, picture isn't working, hold up a moment

  • To make KDE apps look like KDE apps

    Hi everybody!
    I am very new to Arch so please don't be hard on me. :-)
    I have some problem with looks of apps. I use Gnome but I also have Xfce and KDE installed. My KDE apps look like this:
    As you can see - buttons of Gnome on KDE app. I want to make all apps look like the DE they belong. How do I do that?

    I think that that it would be very hard to use Oxygen effects outside KDE (not kwin: oxygen style has it's own effects).
    When you turn off those effects in KDE apps lok exactlly the same as on your image.
    With effects they look like this:
    Maybe someone has managed to „tweak" something.... hope so.
