Want to set my camera output 16bit greyscale

Hi All,
I am using a Guppy pro F-031b camera.
I want to let it output 16bits greyscale picture, so
1st .I set my camera as Format_7 Mode_6(partial image and mono 16) by writing the register.
2nd .Then I set the IMAQ image type as grayscale(U16).
But I still got a 8bit picture.  What shall I do to solve this problem?
This is the first time I work with Labview. Any help is appreciate.
Thank you,
Best,
Wen

Hello Plarq,
Two things:
1. Wire the "Image Name" terminal of the "IMAQ create.vi" to the "Session In" terminal of the "IMAQdx open camera.vi" (This is not related to your question, but it is a better practice).
2. Now, in regards to your issue, check the following article which I hope can be helpful:
"Can the NI-IMAQ and NI-IMAQdx driver acquire true U16 images?"

  • I want to set the sound output channel per application.

    So iTunes and Spotify via my airport express, but normal youtube videos, or any other mac apps such as Safari via the internal speakers. Can this be set (forced) or do I need to switch manually all the time, by holding down the alt-key and pushing the volume icon?

    With the Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody  there is an adapter that uses the Mini DisplayPort and a USB port to combine video and audio to HDMI. It's only 2 channel stereo not 5.1 Dolby Surround.
    http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10428&cs_id=1042802 &p_id=5969&seq=1&format=2
    If you connect the MacBook using a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter you will probably need to use external speakers or a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs connected to a stereo sound system if your TV doesn't have separate RCA input plugs or a 3.5mm stereo input plug for audio with the HDMI plug. The Mini DisplayPort to HDMI doesn't carry audio unless you have the Mid 2010 model 7,1 and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI.

  • Anyway to set ProPhotoRGB as output space in ACR hosted by Elements?

    Is there anyway to set ProPhoto RGB as the output space in ACR 4.4.1 hosted by Ps Elements 6 on a Windows Vista Home Premium laptop?
    The images will be properly corrected using the full version of Photoshop 10.0.1 on my Mac, but I'm used to seeing the ACR preview window with ProPhoto RGB 16-bit set as the output space.
    Or do the limitations of Ps Elements cripple ACR in this regard too?

    > I'm assuming the choices of sRGB and AdobeRGB in Element's ACR is strictly output and working space. Regardless of which is chosen the preview stays the same in ACR. Correct?
    > Does Elements ACR embed the sRGB or AdobeRGB working space after saving to tiff and can you save in 16bit tiff as well?
    The way things work in Elements is that you have four choices for colour management:
    None - This means any file you open will have any embedded profile ignored, the working space is effectively the same as your monitor, when you save a file any existing profile is removed.
    Optimize for Web - This sets the working space to sRGB, so any file without a profile will be edited in that space. When you save such a file you can embed sRGB as it's profile on saving.
    Optimize for Print - This sets the working space to Adobe RGB, and then behaves as for optimze for web but using Adobe RGB.
    Let me choose - For files with no embedded profile, you can choose between sRGB or Adobe RGB and that will be the working space profile for that file. You can then save it with that profile.
    For the latter three options, Elemenets always preserves the embedded profile if a file has one. So, if you have Elements set to optimze for web, but open a file with Adobe RGB, it will use Adobe RGB. Unlike full PS, you can't force sRGB working space on an Adobe RGB file. It will also preserve ProPhoto RGB too it seems, even though it's not a profile you can use in Elements to create files with.
    Elements also provides the ability to convert (not assign) between sRGB and Adobe RGB. You can effectively do an assign by saving a file without the embedded profile, and then setting Elements colour settings to let me choose and then selecting the profile you wanted at that point...
    As for ACR, I believe the preview works no differently than it does in full PS other than there is no option to select the output space in the ACR window (along with other restricted options). This is effectively set by the Elements color settings above, so you will get sRGB for optimse for web or Adobe RGB for optimise for print. When it's set to let me choose, I think it defaults to using whatever your camera's default colour space is set to as this is still in the EXIF info, but am not sure there. ACR does let you specify 16 bit output though, so depending on the base colour settings in Elements you can create a 16-bit AdobeRGB TIFF file, save it with the correct profile, and also easily create a correct 8-bit sRGB JPEG from it for web use.
    So, no, Elements is not as flexible as full PS, but, if you want to stick with Adobe RGB and sRGB, then I reckon it's all there and it's not quite as pathetic as Ramon says. If you want ProPhoto RGB, then to be fair, Elements is probably not for you anyway.

  • I just took a back up of the new iPad in iClouds,  out of 5Gb 3.9Gb is available and remaining got used up by camera roll and apps. So now if i want to see those camera roll pics in iCloud on my iPad and Windows PC how can i do that ?

    Hi All,
    Please let me know how can i view the backed up content on iClouds like the camera roll pics, since i have the pics there on iCloud and i want to save on the space on my iPad i want to delete it from my iPad if i can see it over iCloud.

    Even though iCloud can back up some content it is intended more to keep multiple iOS devices synced up rather than being a place to back up your content. The Camera Roll is included in the iPad's Backup however there is no way to access the back up's content without Restoring the iPad. If you wipe the photos from the iPad's Photo Roll the new back up file created will also have them removed.
    Photo Stream, also a part of iCloud, is also intended to make your latest photos accessible on your other iOS devices such as iPhones, Apple TVs and Mac computers. It will only hold 1000 of the latest photos and is supposed to delete them after 30 days. This can give you the opportunity to view photos for awhile, back the photos up in a more conventional manner on your computer and share them with others. It is not a back up and is more of a temparary place to view them. Photos should be transferred to a computer which also has  a good back up routine to external sources.
    Even though iCloud can hold your iPad Backup file, the back up file does not contain most media files. The iOS backup file is more for quickly getting your devics settings restored if you have an issue with it or want to set up a new device. Your media files must also live else where in a more permanent back up such as on a computer and an external USB drive. For most actions, iCloud pretty much mirrors your iOS devices, delete something from one device it is gone from them all including iCloud.
    If you want to remove photos then store and view them from an online source use services such as DropBox or other online photo services such as Flickr.

  • How can I manually set the Camera Roll to start at an arbitrary image number, i.e., IMG_0553.JPG?

    I have an iPhone 4s, currently with iOS 5.1. I use it with my desktop computer which runs Windows Vista (and has the latest iTunes installed 10.6), and my laptop, which has Windows 7 and the latest iTunes. I use iCloud and Photo Stream primarily with the desktop computer.
    Since receiving the iPhone on launch day, (Nov...14?, 2011), I've had to "Set [it] up as new" twice, most recently this morning.
    After setting it up as new, the Camera Roll starts over with pictures at IMG_0001.JPG. That means, that, after my first picture after this latest reset, I'll have three pictures all initially named IMG_0001.JPG, and instead, I'll have IMG_0001.JPG, IMG_0001 (1).JPG, and IMG_0001 (3).JPG in my photo library. This robs me of the ability view my photos sorted by name, which is often the default sort order in my photo folders, and still see them chronologically. I can, of course, sort them by Date Created, but it would be more flexible if I could do either one.
    Therefore, I'd like to set Camera Roll to start numbering its photos starting with whatever the next number higher than all the rest in my library would be, in this case, IMG_0553.JPG.
    I can't just use Windows to go into the iPhone's Camera Roll and rename the first photo I take to be IMG_0533.JPG. The iPhone just doesn't allow tampering with the filename that way. Can I even count on Camera Roll to note the presence of the highest numbered file in its folder and then just name the next picture taken the next higher number?
    Since I have no reason to believe that I won't have to reset the phone again, I'd like for whatever method I find to be one that I can use to set the Camera Roll to start at whatever other number I need when the time comes.
    Suggestions welcome...
    I have an idea that I'm about to try...I'll report back if it succeeds...
    UPDATE: So what I tried to do was, with an empty Camera Roll, I uploaded a picture with the filename and number that I wanted (IMG_0533.JPG) into my Photo Stream, then saved that picture to my Camera Roll, hoping it would retain the file name, and then Camera Roll would just use the next number. That didn't work. It saved into Camera Roll as a brand spanking new IMG_0001.JPG.

    To bring the solution into this thread, here are the consolidated solution bits from the other thread:
    I installed i-Funbox and found the file referenced in that other thread ( iPHone / Raw File System / PhotoData / MISC / DCIM_APPLE.plist ).
    That file has a section that I'm replicating below that is the part that that original poster edited, and is the part that needs to be edited for my problem also:
              <key>DCIMLastFileNumber</key>
              <integer>5</integer>
    That other thread's original poster wanted his photos to start with 0001, so he set his "DCIMLastFileNumber" to 0.
    I wanted my next picture to be IMG_0553.JPG, so I edited my file's 5 to 552.
    I did that editing by first copying the file to my laptop (using the Copy To PC command), then opening it up in a text editor. I did the edit, then saved it.
    After that, I used i-Funbox' "Copy From PC" command to copy the edited file back to the same location, hoping that the program would take care of any permissions, etc.
    I had to do the Copy From PC twice.
    On the first try, it seemed to copy just fine, but, for whatever reason, the copied file was empty when I opened it for verification. But I tried again, and that seemed to work (opened for verification, and it was as expected).
    I then unplugged it, copied a picture from the Photo Stream to the Camera Roll, then plugged it into my laptop to verify the filename. It was exactly as I wanted: IMG_0533.JPG. Then, for fuller verification, I unplugged it, took a new picture, then replugged it in, and confirmed that the next pictures (I had HDR on) were IMG_0534.JPG and IMG_0535.JPG.
    ...and that's where I am. Nothing has crashed yet, too, which is all to the good ('course, I haven't done anything else with the phone yet).
    Fingers crossed!

  • How can I convert 16bit greyscale pictures to 24bit color pictures

    Hi,
    I am stuck at coloring 16bit greyscale pictures without losing the
    resolution of 16bit, as it would happen when using the
    WindMapping-thing (which reduces the displayed resolution to 8bit).
    I figured that what I would need is probably an array consisting of
    32536 RGB-color clusters to convert all greyscale values to a color,
    preferrably a rainbow spectrum.
    I tried to create such an array via the HSL-model, where the coding of
    a rainbow spectrum is easier than in RGB, and then converted it to U32
    for obtaining the RGB-colors. The problem here is: Although HSL is
    24bit in IMAQ, I can only get about 200 different colors when using
    constant saturation and luminance. I understand that 24bit is made of
    3x8bit for H,S and L. - However, as the HSL-model describes colors as
    Hue (0-359°); Saturation (0-100%) and Luminance (0-100%) I don't really
    understand, how those 360 Hue-values could possibly be put into
    U8-representation required by the IMAQ ColorToRGB-vi.
    Does anyone have an idea how to obtain a 24bit-rainbow spectrum coded
    in 32536 distinct colors other than manually creating all the entries?
    The reason I need this is to determine whether it will be necessary to
    process the images all the way through using I16 or if can be done with
    U8 as well without losing too much of detail.
    I couldn't figure out any other way to DISPLAY true 16bit other than
    the detour using 24bit pictures. It is only about display, not about
    processing, which can be well done using the IMAQ I16 format...
    Thanks for any input!
    C.

    Thanks for the answer and especially the link, George!
    Unfortunately our relevant grey values are distributed over a wide
    range of about 5000, which I would rather use instead of letting them
    melt down to 256...Of course - being able to distinguish between 5000
    different greyscale values with the human eye is another story!
    However - a co-worker of mine came up with the idea of coding the grey
    values in terms of travelling along the axes of the RGB cube, as shown
    in the attached image.

  • I want to set up an iCloud account. Please Help

    I want to set up an iCloud account, and I am unable to do so, as iCloud says my apple ID is valid  but not an iCloud Account and I get no option to create an account.
    How do I accomplish this?
    I am using a Windows Computer and I don't own an iPhone or other i series products nor do I own a Mac.

    Here's what he would need to do:
    Save his photo stream photos to his camera roll (unless they are already there) by opening the My Photo Stream album, tapping Edit, tapping the photos, tapping Share, then tapping Save to Camera Roll.
    Go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then choose Delete from My iphone.  This will temporarily remove the account and his iCloud data from his phone, but it will reappear on his phone when he signs back in later.
    Sign in with your Apple ID to create your iCloud account, and do not choose Merge with iCloud when prompted (so he doesn't upload his data to your account).
    In Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account again to remove your account from his phone.
    Sign back in with his own iCloud ID.  His iCloud data will reappear on his phone after a brief delay as it redownloads from iCloud.
    You can then sign in with your ID on the iCloud control panel for Windows on your PC, as well as on icloud.com.

    Hi
    What setting will give possibly result ?
    It might go for broad-casting (PAL 25fps)
    I'll use FinalCut (6) for editing.
    Camera to be set as:
    50i 24M(FX)
    50i 17M(FH)
    50p 28M(PS)
    25p 24M(FX)
    25p 17M(FH)
    Yours Bengt W

    interlaced and progressive (i and p) have different looks.  p is more film-like although there are many things that go in to creating a "film" look.  I'm assuming the 50 frame rates are for shooting slow motion.  50i may indicate 50 fields per second rather than 50 frames per second so that is probably just 25 interlaced frames per second.  What camera are you shooting with?  I think the M setting indicates the data rate so in general, the higher the data rate, the more info and better quality.  If I'm wrong on any of this, hopefully someone will speak up.  You might want to check the camera manual.  Manuals often explain the pros and cons of different shooting formats.  You may also have issues with different formats compatabilities with fcp6.  Testing is always a good idea.

    What to do before selling or giving away your Mac
    Clean Install of Snow Leopard
         1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
             with your computer.  Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
             After the chime press and hold down the  "C" key.  Release the key when you see
             a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
         2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
             button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
             After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
             size.)  Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.  Set the number of
             partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
             and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
             (Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
         3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed
             with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
         4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
             Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
             username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
             Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
             install of OS X.  You can now begin the update process by opening Software
             Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
    Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

  • How to set up the output device in output determinatin with customer master

    Hi,
    I am doing the output determination using customer master and not conditions technique.  Can anybody please let me know how to set up the output device . I have done the following:
    1)  assigned output determination procedure DB00001 to acct group 0001
    2)  added output type BA00 to customer master documents tab with print as the medium.
    3)  On creating a sales order and changing it its giving the message
    BA00     515     No printer defined for output BA00
    Please provide me with some suggestions , how to resolve this issue.
    thanx
    Jayant

    1. tcode V/30 -> check BA00 type -> goto  "print" tab -> what's set in the "print param." field?
    2. IMG ->SD -> basic functions -> output control -> define print parameters -> V1 output -> for BA00 output type -> Assign a default printer. This is related with the "print param." set in step 1.
    For example: if "print parame." is set to '1' in V/30, then the default printer is assigned to sales organization.
    You can check F4 search help on the "print param." field (in V/30) to see what options you have.
    If you want to specify printer by customer account, you may need to use userexit.

  • Set color alv output cell abap webdynpro

    Hi Guys ,
    i wanted to set the color of some cells in alv output to red in ABAP WebDynpro.
    i am using the salv_wd_table.
    any piece of code is appreciated.
    thanks,
    Bobby.

    Bobby,
    If let's say you are build a ALV table to output 'SFLIGHT' table, and you want PLANETYPE '747-400' to be displayed in green, and PLANETYPE '146-200' displayed in red.
    Also, let's just say, you already had a context node 'SFLIGHT_NODE' that is mapped to the external node 'DATA' of your ALV.
    Now:
    1.  you need to modify the context node 'SFLIGHT_NODE' to add an attribute -- say 'CELL_COLOR' of type 'WDY_UIE_LIBRARY_ENUM_TYPE' -- to the SFLIGHT_NODE (note, you need to delete 'DICTIONARY structure' that is bind to the 'SFLIGHT_NODE' node, otherwise, you will not be able to create addition attributes)
    After, you will have something like this for your context node .
      CONTEXT
        --> SFLIGHT_NODE
    > CARRID
    > CONNID
    > FLDATE
    > PRICE
    > PLANETYPE
    > <and any other attributes you had pulled from SFLIGHT)
    > CELL_COLOR (TYPE WDY_UIE_LIBRARY_ENUM_TYPE)
    2.  In your supply function to the 'SFLIGHT_NODE', you now need to supply the data to this newly added attribute:
    METHOD supply_sflight_node .
    ** data declaration
      DATA:
        itab_sflight_node            TYPE if_componentcontroller=>elements_sflight_node,
        stru_sflight_node            LIKE LINE OF itab_sflight_node.
    ** read sflight data
      SELECT * FROM sflight INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE itab_sflight_node.
    ** populate the 'CELL_COLOR' field
      LOOP AT itab_sflight_node INTO stru_sflight_node .
        IF stru_sflight_node-planetype = '747-400'.
          stru_sflight_node-cell_color = CL_WD_TABLE_COLUMN=>E_CELL_DESIGN-GOODVALUE_DARK .
         ELSEIF stru_sflight_node-planetype = '146-200'.
          stru_sflight_node-cell_color = CL_WD_TABLE_COLUMN=>E_CELL_DESIGN-BADVALUE_DARK .
        ELSE.
          stru_sflight_node-cell_color = CL_WD_TABLE_COLUMN=>E_CELL_DESIGN-STANDARD .
        ENDIF.
        modify itab_sflight_node from stru_sflight_node.
      ENDLOOP.
    ** bind all the elements
      node->bind_table(
        new_items =  itab_sflight_node
        set_initial_elements = abap_true ).
    ENDMETHOD.
    3. Now, you need to obtain the configuration model of the ALV and config it before display.  (say you have an method does this 'init_alv_table_settings', and it is called from your view's wddoinit() method)
    METHOD init_alv_table_settings .
      DATA: l_ref_cmp_usage TYPE REF TO if_wd_component_usage.
      l_ref_cmp_usage =   wd_this->wd_cpuse_alv_table( ).
      IF l_ref_cmp_usage->has_active_component( ) IS INITIAL.
        l_ref_cmp_usage->create_component( ).
      ENDIF.
      DATA: l_ref_interfacecontroller TYPE REF TO iwci_salv_wd_table .
      l_ref_interfacecontroller =   wd_this->wd_cpifc_alv_table( ).
      DATA:
      node_sflight_node                   TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node .
      node_sflight_node = wd_context->get_child_node( name = if_flights_view=>wdctx_sflight_node ).
      CALL METHOD l_ref_interfacecontroller->set_data
        EXPORTING
          r_node_data = node_sflight_node.
    **  get ConfigurationModel from ALV Component
      DATA:    lr_table TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_config_table.
      lr_table = l_ref_interfacecontroller->get_model( ).
    ** change the color of the cell
      DATA: lr_column_settings TYPE REF TO if_salv_wd_column_settings.
      DATA: lr_column TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_column.
      lr_column_settings ?= lr_table.
      lr_column = lr_column_settings->get_column( 'PLANETYPE' ).
      DATA: lr_input_field TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_uie_input_field.
      CREATE OBJECT lr_input_field EXPORTING value_fieldname = 'PLANETYPE'.
      lr_column->set_cell_editor( lr_input_field ).
      lr_column->set_cell_design_fieldname( value = 'CELL_COLOR' ).
    ENDMETHOD.
    Compile and activate your code.

    I want to buy surveillance cameras and software that are compatible with Mtn Lion, what do you suggest?

    You do have the ability to create good user interfaces with LabVIEW.
    The main problem is what do you, or your customer consider a good user
    interface.
    The first thing I would suggest is to start using the "Dialog Control"
    controls for your front panel. This set of controls pick up their style
    from the operating system, so they will match the rest of the system
    applicaitons.
    Another thing is limit the use of color on the front panel. One persons
    idea of a nice shade of blue can be another person eyesore. Instead,
    use the decorations for grouping of controls.
    I would stay away from ActiveX. It's interface is quirky at best and there is a lot of overhead involved.
    Just to show it's possible, the attached images are screen shots of
    user interfaces I've designed with LabVIEW. The first two use the
    Dialog Controls, and the third uses standard controls and color at the
    customers request.
