    What have learnt about JSPs and servlets till now? Because reading the values submitted in a form is pretty much the base of all operations. I suggest you Google for [servlet tutorials|http://www.google.com/search?q=servlet+tutorial] and [JSP tutorials|http://www.google.com/search?q=jsp+tutorial] and go through them thoroughly. • Warning - When Compiling .jsp pages under WEB-INF

    Created a directory jsp under WEB-INF and when i compile the jsp pages i get the following warning message
    Warning: package name web2d_inf._jsp does not match source file name C:\ProviderEnrollment\ProvEnrollView\classes\.jsps\_WEB_2d_INF\_jsp\_searchprovider.java
    Need help
    Thanks

    We have encountered this warning too.
    I'm not an Oracle employee, but it looks like there's a bug in JDev that preserves the case for the output directories but not for the package name that is supposed to correspond to the output directories.
    In any case, we haven't seen any runtime problems that seem to be related to this warning, so you may be safe to disregard it. It does foul up the build log though.
    Any JDev team members watching this topic are welcome to chime in with a confirmation and details of this apparent bug, as well as any workaround that might exist to avoid having the warning appear. Thanks!

  • Warning Message in Absence Page

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement detailing the Following Scenario in Oracle HRMS R12.1.1
    1. User selects Create Absence Entry
    2. Selects Paternity Leave
    3. Create the Leaves and Click the Submit Button
    4. A warning Message should be issued to the User (Asking him to submit the Child Birth Certificate)
    5. This should be a warning message and if the user clicks the submit button once again, he should be allowed to submit the Leave.
    I have extended the concerned class in the Page and added the Warning Message.
    However when submitting the leave in the Application, the Warning Message is displayed, but it does NOT allow the user to proceed.
    The code is as follows:
    if(absenceType.trim().equalsIgnoreCase("Paternity Leave") && gender.equalsIgnoreCase("M"))
                             //Change by Ravi @ 06-Aug-2010 to give a Warning Message to the User that a Medical Certificate Needs to be provided
                             throw new OAException("You are requested to submit original medical certificate certifying birth of child" , OAException.WARNING);Grateful if you people could help.
    Thks
    Ravi

    Hi Ravi
    throw statement throws the error and ends the execution!!!!You can try like below code
    if(absenceType.trim().equalsIgnoreCase("Paternity Leave") && gender.equalsIgnoreCase("M"))
    //Change by Ravi @ 06-Aug-2010 to give a Warning Message to the User that a Medical Certificate Needs to be provided
    //throw new OAException("You are requested to submit original medical certificate certifying birth of child" , OAException.WARNING);
    OAException exception = new OAException("You are requested to submit original medical certificate certifying birth of child" , OAException.WARNING);
    pageContext.putDialogMessage(exception);Hope it helps!!!

  • Reader security warning message on pdf page linking

    Hi All
    I am building, for the 5th year running, an archive of a publications years magazines in pdf format. The pages are linked so that when for example an issue magazine cover is clicked in an index page I have created, it takes the viewer to the appropriate magazine pdf, all of which are stored as seperate files.
    This has worked fine up until the introduction of Adobe Reader XI. Now a security warning message popup is generated every time a link to another page is clicked.
    "This document is trying to access - page.pdf - if you trust this document then choose Allow if not choose Block"
    We can't have this so:
    Option One:  Combine all the pdfs into one file, thus avoiding the problem but making a 400Meg file which may be a little unwealdy to edit
    Option Two: Certify all the pages with a third party validated digital signature.
    Question does any know if the Option Two will solve the problem?
    I have aqured a test certificate from GlobalSign but it is maked as a test certificate and not to be trusted (not sure what the point of it is then!) and this does not work.
    We don't want to pay $400 only to find that this does not solve the problem.
    Anybody?
    Thanks
    Keith

    In Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro I use the MArquee select Link Tool. It looks like a chain on the Advanced Editing toolbar.
    Then the pages are linked using Open a file , or Go to a page view.
    I am beging to think that this ia a bug. Because in edit / prefferenecs / security advanced / Add folder path. When you do this for a particular folder it makes no difference, you still get the Warning message.

  • Interrmittant dispaly of error message on JSP Page

    Hi ,
    I am developing an application using JSP and servlets. I ma having a peculiar issue with it.
    I have few links on a JSP page. When a user clicks on the link, its credentials are verified from database and if he is authorised, he will be taken to corresponding link page. Otherwise an error message is dispalyed on the same JSP page.
    When user is not authorised, an exception is thrown from backend to UI passing an error code. This error code is extracted in UI and error description for this error code is read from a properties file.
    From the servlet I use send.redirect() calls to redirect to the url with error code concatenated at the end of the url.
    It is something like this
    try {
    if(validUser)
    //do stuff
    response.sendRedirect("abc/xyzServlet");
    } catch(Exception ex) {
    errid=ex.getErrid();
    response.sendRedirect("abc/MainPageServlet?errid=" + errid);
    }In the MainPageServlet, i read error properties file and display error desc for that error id.
    The problem I am facing is that when an unauthorised user clicks on link repeatedly, he sees the error message intermittently.
    But the error id could be seen on the page url appended.
    Sometimes I also see IllegalStateException in the logs.
    I am using WebSphere server to deploy the application.
    Please help me on this, I have spent much time on this and haven't got a clue. Any pointers will be useful.
    Thank You,
    Priyanshu.

    I've tried this and the message still comes up all the time. Have also tried resetting and this doesn't work either. The message appears whether or not it is connected to an accessory (eg speakers). Any further ideas?

  • How customize  messages in jsp pages in jhs 10.1.2.0

    Hi,
    How I can customize the messages in jhs application (10.1.2.0)
    - error message
    - successful transaction message 'JHS-00100: Transaction completed successfully! '
    By example I call stored procedures from my jsp pages , but I dont display can messages...Transaction completed successfully! messages
    note: in error messages how I can customize ORA-20001 messages?
    Thanks,
    Rigoberto

    Rigoberto,
    If you want to globally change the text for the JHS-00100 message, you can include the message key "JHS-00100" in your own resource bundle.
    If you want to hide this message in one particular screen, or replace it with a different message in that screen, you should subclass JhsDataAction and override message storeTransactionCompletedMessage.

  • DISPLAY A WARNING MESSAGE ON LOGIN PAGE

    Need to warn users that the application is down due to an upgrade. Users can potentially do damage when the application is brought for configuration during the implementation phase even if a corporate email has been sent out to not log in.

    Hi,
    There is a suggestion:
    You create a Profile Option in Oracle with values as "Yes" and "No".
    Suppose the value is "No" initially...that means users are not allowed to login.
    Now in the Controller of Login page in processrequest grab the value of this profile Option
    String test = (String)pageContext.getProfile("name of option");
    if("No".equals(test))
    throw new OAException("You are not authorised to Login.",OAException.WARNING);
    else
    write the logic
    This way it will display warning message as the login page will open.
    Thanks,
    Gaurav

    Hello,
    The easiest way to call a Web Service is to use a Client Library instead of calling the SOAP call yourself.
    Can you for your project use a Web Service client stack (JAX-RPC, Axis, XFire, ...) this will create from the WSDL file a set of class and give you a very simple caller class that you can then integrate to your JSP.
    I am pointing you to the OracleAS Web Service Documentation section about Web Service proxy.
    And some simple how-tos that have specific tasks to create client:
    - Web Servics How Tos
    So you can see this specific ant target to create a WS proxy:
    <oracle:genProxy wsdl="[your URL to a WSDL]"
    output="${src.cli.dir}"
    packageName="bottomup.client.proxy"
    >
    <classpath>
    <pathelement path="${bld.cli.dir}"/>
    <pathelement location="${ORACLE_HOME}/webservices/lib/wsa.jar"/>
    </classpath>
    </oracle:genProxy>

  • How to print our custom message in jsp page

    i have used the below line, but its not displaying in jsp
    addFormException(new DropletException("Out Of Stock"));
    regards
    shya

    1. Make sure that your form handler extends GenericFormHandler (This FH defines formError and formExceptions Vector).
    2. When you add form exceptinos in your FH, set the formError flag as true.
    3. In the jsp, check for the form error flag, if it is set, iterate through the formExceptions vector and display the error message.
    Below is the sample code:
    <dsp:droplet name="/atg/dynamo/droplet/Switch">
         <dsp:param bean="MyFormHandler.formError" name="value"/>
         <dsp:oparam name="true">
         <dsp:droplet name="/atg/dynamo/droplet/ErrorMessageForEach">
         <dsp:param bean="MyFormHandler.formExceptions" name="exceptions"/>
         <dsp:oparam name="output">
         <dsp:valueof param="message" />
    </dsp:oparam>
    </dsp:droplet>
    </dsp:oparam
    </dsp:droplet>
    If it is not working even after the above steps, request you to provide some more details including your display logic in jsp.

  • (newbie) How to return error messages to JSP page.

    Hello,
    I'm using a very simple Model 1 architecture (no framework such as Struts used.) The webapp just consists of a login.jsp which collects database connection parameters and then activates a servlet to return a PDF report to the browser.
    I have a very common need: I would like the errors entered by the user on the login.jsp to be displayed at the top of a new return of the login.jsp (with the bottom of the JSP still providing the edit fields for reentry), errors such as:
    1.) User did not enter the username, password, and database name
    2.) Having a wrong username/password for the given database.
    (2) is more complex than (1), because it would involve feedback from the servlet (which makes the DB connection).
    I'm not sure how to code this, however, with just JSP, JSTL and JavaBeans. Does anyone know of an example with source code on the web where something similar to this is done?
    Thanks,
    Glen

    No problem on posting here. Seeing as JSP forum is not accessible, this is the next best choice.
    What sort of complexity are you after here?
    You can go with the very simple:
    Print out the error messages as you discover them.
    if (request.getParameter("username") == null){
      // print out the message
      out.println("Please enter your username");
      // or alternatively
      List errors = new ArrayList();
      errors.add("Please enter your username");
    }The best way to get feedback is to write your login method to return whether login succeeded or not. That can be a boolean true/false value, or you could return a User object to indicate success, and null to indicate failure.
    How much of the code is in servlet, how much in JSP?

  • Internet Explorer Security Warning Message

    Hi am using pure html and am sure not using any active
    components in my page.
    When i preview in Internet Explorer, though it shows the

    Someone said the the java script tag is giving the warning,
    but even after removing that tag, am getting that warning message
    The same page, doesn't give any error or warning when

    Hi,
    My immediate reaction is don't panic! If you are testing your
    own page from your own local server then there is nothing to worry
    about. The whole issue of Active X controls is another sore point
    when having to deal with Microsoft's handling of interactive
    content.
    Triggering of the warning can be caused by various things
    other than the obvious contact with dynamic content. Here is an old
    thread from a discussion on why Active X warning appear on your own
    pages.

    Googling will find more evidence for you to trace. Your code

  • How to turn off the warning message when re-compiling jsp in embedded OC4J?

    Members,
    I would like to remove the annoying warning messages whenever we re-compile a jsp file using embedded OC4J.

    I'm so much glad to see JDeveloper giving out all the details and warnings, but sometimes they spit out too much warning messages that simply annoys and distracts my programming.
    There seems to be no parameters for me to shut those up, maybe I should do it manually?
    thanks.

    Ronald,
    I've already tried setting up the j2ee-config.xml file, but
    it seems that the warning message does not come from the oc4j, but is generated when jsp file is being compiled, so no matter what you do with the j2ee-config.xml, it would not work to remove the warnings.
    I was thinking maybe I could setup the java compiler option found in server.xml, by adding -nowarn option in javac options attribute, but it seems that the file server.xml gets overwritten automatically whenever the oc4j restarts (so, no avail).
    So... any other ideas?

  • Warning messages on one iWeb page

    Hello iWeb practitioners,
    Thanks to Wyodor et al who helped me with other queries about iWeb.
    I have published this same site to iweb (www.saivision.ie) and am getting this warning on my directory page. Am I being hacked? How do I get rid of this?
    This site on apple fsupport does not even allow the image to be inserted!
    I have taken this page down, then re designed it and published it again. The same message occurs.
    Can anyone help me with this?

    You have 3 HTML Snippets with each a link to a Google Doc file.
    http://saivision.ie//Members_Directory_files/widget1_markup.html
    http://saivision.ie//Members_Directory_files/widget2_markup.html
    http://saivision.ie//Members_Directory_files/widget3_markup.html
    1 and 2 are behind HTML Snippet 3.
    3 is correct since it displays the doc.
    1 and 2 have wrong code :
    <iframe width='607’
         height='900'
         frameborder='0'
         src=https:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AoRV-ob0a2TmdGpURmI1blJEOExpaXBSbkZBTjgzeEE&output=html
    </iframe>
    This is wrong : src=https:https://
    The line with output=html should end with a " and a >
    But that doesn't matter, since you should delete HTML Snippet 1 and 2.
    So move 3 to the back (Command-Shift-B) or to the left/right to display 1 and 2 to delete both.
    In general, pay attention to detail.
