Internet Explorer Security Warning Message
Hi am using pure html and am sure not using any active
components in my page.
When i preview in Internet Explorer, though it shows the
page, but in the top it gives a security warning:
To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has
restricted this file from showing active content that could access
your computer. Click here for options.
Someone said the the java script tag is giving the warning,
but even after removing that tag, am getting that warning message
The same page, doesn't give any error or warning when
previewd in Firefox!
Can someone point me where am going wrong in the html code i
writen?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
My immediate reaction is don't panic! If you are testing your
own page from your own local server then there is nothing to worry
about. The whole issue of Active X controls is another sore point
when having to deal with Microsoft's handling of interactive
content.
Triggering of the warning can be caused by various things
other than the obvious contact with dynamic content. Here is an old
thread from a discussion on why Active X warning appear on your own
pages.

Googling will find more evidence for you to trace. Your code
looks fine to me and is not a threat to your system if it came off
of your own local server.
Active X is a pain in the butt.

Internet Explorer Security warning in HTTPS evironment
Hello,
We have a webdynpro application which is integrated into portal.
The app runs in https environment.
The problem is: during accessing the page, I get the warning popup:
"This page contains both secure and nonsecure items. Do you want to display the nonsecure items?"
The problem is in the calendar drop down component run not in https environment (standard webdynpro -->javascript).
Do you have idea for the possible solution?

Internet Explorer security message blocks my vrml from playing
I created a simple flash interactive saved as an exe file. I
created a button with a “get url” script to launch a
quicktime vrml, it launches internet explorer and a security
message about active content appears, which blocks the vrml from
playing. Is there anyway the vrml can open without getting the
internet explorer security message?Hi,

How to stop HTTP Security warning message in transactional iview
When I am trying to access ECC through transactional iview then I am getting HTTP security warning message i.e. This page contains both secure and nonsecure items. Do you want to display the nonsecure items?
I think it is because portal is accessable using HTTPS protocol and when we access ECC then it uses HTTP Protocol.
Pl help to resolve.Hi AshuGrover_in,
First, welcome on SDN!
> I think it is because portal is accessable using HTTPS protocol and when we access ECC then it uses HTTP Protocol.

This might very well be the root cause of the issue, and if it is, you know the resolution - make all systems accessible via https.
Anyhow, to examine the exact cause creating this message you could use tools like HttpWatch or something similar and record the client accesses to the server. If you originally have a GET to a https address, the first http request caused by the original request will throw this message.
Theoretically, on client side, you can switch off this message: Search for "switch off http https warning" on google and you will get all possible instructions for the different clients. Anyhow, a clean landscape design with complete https connections is the aim you should have.
Hope it helps
Detlev

Reader security warning message on pdf page linking
Hi All
I am building, for the 5th year running, an archive of a publications years magazines in pdf format. The pages are linked so that when for example an issue magazine cover is clicked in an index page I have created, it takes the viewer to the appropriate magazine pdf, all of which are stored as seperate files.
This has worked fine up until the introduction of Adobe Reader XI. Now a security warning message popup is generated every time a link to another page is clicked.
"This document is trying to access - page.pdf - if you trust this document then choose Allow if not choose Block"
We can't have this so:
Option One: Combine all the pdfs into one file, thus avoiding the problem but making a 400Meg file which may be a little unwealdy to edit
Option Two: Certify all the pages with a third party validated digital signature.
Question does any know if the Option Two will solve the problem?
I have aqured a test certificate from GlobalSign but it is maked as a test certificate and not to be trusted (not sure what the point of it is then!) and this does not work.
We don't want to pay $400 only to find that this does not solve the problem.
Anybody?
Thanks
KeithIn Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro I use the MArquee select Link Tool. It looks like a chain on the Advanced Editing toolbar.
Then the pages are linked using Open a file , or Go to a page view.
I am beging to think that this ia a bug. Because in edit / prefferenecs / security advanced / Add folder path. When you do this for a particular folder it makes no difference, you still get the Warning message. -
Hi,
I have VS2013 update 4 and IE11 installed. When I try to sign in through VS I get the following error.
SP324081: Check that your Internet Explorer security settings will allow JavaScript and cookies. If enabled, please contact support.
I have checked and JAVASCRIPT and cookies are enabled.
Any help is appreciated.Hi Sath12,
If possible, I suggest you reset IE settings.
Please lower the security level. Then I added the site like https://*.visualstudio.com/ to the trusted zones. Test it again.
I have met this issue before which was related to the IE settings or the account issue.

A connect report still shared some information about it:

Internet explore security popups
Hi i am having trouble with popups from internet explorer security saying a websight wants to open web content using this program on your computer, Adobe Flash Player. I already have Adobe Flash Player. no matter what i do it keeps popping up. i click don't allow it goes away for a second then pops up again over and over when i try to go to another page can you please help me. it is very frustrating
If the pages contain Flash Content, this is normal unless you have your Flash Player set to allow storage. See :http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help02.html for more info.
If however, you see this when visiting pages that DO NOT have Flash content (regular HTML pages), you're infected with "Adware" which is using Flash Player to attempt to bombard you with ads.
You need to run a thorough virus scan and I'd recommend downloading and running TDSSKiller from Kaspersky as well. -

Internet Explorer Security Settings for Previewing in Developer
Hello Marc,
I just 2 weeks new to UPK. I just switched over to a new laptop and now when I try to preview UPK in try it mode (local install), I receive an error message that says PREVIEW CANNOT OPEN "preview requires intranet settings to be enabled. These settings are located on the security tab in the Internet Settings of Internet Explorer." I current use IE 7.0. Can you advise which settings need to be changed?Hello,
For See It! and Try It! mode preview you will need to do the following:
Tools > Internet Options > Security (tab) > Local Intranet (icon) > Sites. Check all of the boxes. “Automatically detect intranet network” must be unchecked for the other buttons to be available. Once you check everything, you can re-check “Automatically detect intranet network”.
For Do It! mode preview you will need to do the following:
Tools > Internet Options > Security (tab) > Local Intranet (icon) > Custom level... Scroll down until you see the option for "Allow script-initiated windows without size or position constraints" (a little more than halfway down) and set this option to Enable.
This should allow you to properly preview these modes in the UPK Developer.
Best regards,

Why is the security warning messages menu deleted on firefox 4?
The warning messages option under security menu is missing on ff4. Is there an easier way to get it back instead of using "about:config"?
Not that I have seen.

Internet Explorer Security Support on Windows 7 & WIndows 2008 Std Server
I have an app page (tomcat https) that i was able to open from a windows 7 professional remotely but could not open from a windows 2008 std server. Is there a security settings I need to disable from windows 2008 std server? The firewall is disabled.
Both Win 7 & 2008 is on the same network.
Thanks in advance.
DTHi,
I need the error information from the Internet Explorer, if the error code is 404 that should be the webpage is not correctly developed, error code 500 means the tomcat server is not available, you should check the tomcat server, or another situation is
the port number is in use by another application, normally the default port number is 8080, you can try another port number in the comcat configuration file to see the result.

Do I need Internet Explorer security updates if I use Firefox?
Hello!
I cannot find an answer to this question through a Google search so I'm asking it here please. I'm using Windows 7 and see lots of regular updates for Internet Explorer being installed. But I never use Internet Explorer, I only use Firefox. So I wanted to know, will I be putting my Firefox security at risk by not installing Internet Explorer updates released through Windows Upate? Does a flaw in one browser affect another?
Thank you!
Alice.Thank you for your quick reply jscher2000. Your advice makes sense, I'll keep updates for Internet Explorer going. It was just something I was curious about. For example, if someone used both Firefox and Chrome, would a flaw in one affect another? And whilst Googling earlier for an answer for my question before posting (didn't want to waste anyone's time with a repetitive question), I noticed some people have completely uninstalled Internet Explorer, so presumably they won't even be offered any IE updates.
Thanks again!

Internet Explorer gives error messages
I keep being told Windows Internet Explorer cannot find my requested websites. They then appear leaving me to close the error message.
How can I stop this happening ?Generally the Internet Explorer or a other internet browser cannot display the internet page because the connection to the internet was not established or does not wok correctly.
Furthermore a enabled firewall could prevent the internet browser from displaying a page.
Your message is incomplete and you dont provide any details but as I already said you should check your connection to the modem or router.

Internet Explorer Security Settings
Hello,
We are using IE security related Group policies in our environment. We have a site where users are unable to download html pages from all of the websites. We have already tried adding these websites to the Trusted zones. However, the issue still persists.
Users get an error bar on the top of IE page. The error states "An add-on for this website failed to run. Check the security settings in Internet Options for potential conflicts". We have a different OU where this GPO is not applied and we do not
face this issue there.
Can anyone suggest what specific setting do i need to look for in gpresult from working and non-working computer. Please find the error screenshot attached.
Regards,
Farid AnsariHi,
My guess would be you need to update your Adobe and shockwave flash...
on a workstation go
Start>Control Panel>Flash 32, click the links to check for updates.
or from IE
Tools>Manage Addons>Show All Addons... located it in the list to see its version... you should have both 32bit and 64 bit versions installed.
If possible please provide the address of any website you are having problems with your questions. That way we can visit the site and see what plugins the site requires to work as designed.
Regards.
