Warranty Mess! Whats going on Lenovo???

I bought my W520 weeks ago, and i love it, its the best laptop i ever had.
BUT. I bought the extended 2 year ONsite Warranty with it, bought at the moment itself of getting the computer.
The warranty still does not show anywhere, neither in account, in comp, etc, anywhere
I have gone through a few phone calls with Lenovo, totally crazy phone calls, in which different people have told me all sort of things, like, you will receive an email in 3 days, and nothing arrived, like yes we have updated it now, and nothing happens, like, etc, etc
Lets cut it short.
That Lenovo takes My Money for an extended warranty, and they fail to deliver it IMMEDIATELY is absolutely not only absurd for such a pro company, but it borders on the Illegal and it borders on even worse things. 
So you buy something with your money and you receive your "something" in return for that money, 3 months later? 2 months, 4 months? who knows when????
excuse me?
The warranty support for Lenovo and their warranty everything itself is the biggest joke in the world of technology i have ever seen
they better get their act together SOON or they are going to end up being sued pretty soon
and i am STILL waiting for my extended warranty that i bought with my hard earned money

It took me 3 months and about 10 hours of phone calls and emails to get my warranty.  Dell are so much better its beyond a joke.  I would still not have one now If I had not kicked up a huge fuss.
Basically, the lenovo warranty system is totally broken.
The biggest con is that you pay for the warranty when you order the machine online, but you dont get any proof or record of it till much later, meaning you cant use it.  They kept telling me that having no record in their system or the warranty status panel was normal, and that I would still be covered NBD.  But that was a lie, as when my FPR stopped working, they said I had no proof of purchsing an NBD, and because I was in a different country, would not be eligable for NDB support - I would have to mail my computer back to UK. 
One problem was that the only thing which came with the delivery of the lenovo was the machine itself - they say a proof of pruchases of the warranty should have been sent with it by some third party company - digital river.  Digital river said they never send proof of delivery with the machine, and blamed lenovo Warranty dept for not honoring the warranty I had paid for.
In the end, I found a link at the bottom of one of the emails from lenovo to a warranty registration website, which was broken.  Each time I put my details in, it gave a server error.  Lenovo tried to do it for me, and anfter that the form would not work at all (said I was registered), but still no warranty on the lenovo system, or on my machine, and they would still not honor it.
Prepare for a lot of unneccessary pain.

    I noticed that the app store is changing. The old link to fee apps is gone, a load of apps that were their before, missing. So anyone know whats going on? Does Apple publish changes anywhere easy t find, or like true Mac and Micro style were just left, in the dark, to face it.
    Will we find in a few weeks to get any app we will have to pay for them all?
    When I had a Nokia, Nokia website was full of information, kept customers up-to-date and app restriction was non existent. You didn't have to unbrick or mod your phone for applications. Its just ridiculous that we the customer are forced (Unless we wish to void warranty) to only download apps this way, and people have a go at Microsoft for monopolizing the industry. Isn't this much the same, you come here or nowhere?
    To be quite honest, I find Apples customer service in the keeping their customers informed quite lacking. We are left to wait a see whats going on, if any think. Apple needs to keep its customers better updated, if server changes are implemented. Why not inform the customers, or are they into doing things on the sly?
    So does anyone have any information of whats going on with Apples and their site, was the app store hit by a mac virus or something lol.

    I still find the App store fully functional. There is a link in the lower right for "Top Free Apps" and it goes to a list of top 100. Browsing by category, i see paid and free applications. Doing an advanced search, I can leave criteria blank and select the check box for "search for free apps" and I get back too many pages to count.
    99% of my apps are free and they are still available, so i am not sure why you are having issues.

    Hi?Forum mods?There seems to be a continuing and exponentially increasing amount of negati've feedback from the public on your current situation. Ie. That of you drivers not providing what they are supposed to in Windows Vista no matter what flavor or card you have. You have had beta drivers for a while then re-released the exact same drivers non WHQL earlier this year. Which fine I can kind?of grasp the insanity behind that but and here is the big BUTT which Creative seems to enjoy making of itself.Why are they so tight lipped are they getting bought out by some other company? We are all?in the dark here, and I although enjoy the?dark, dont enjoy being an ill informed?forcably ignorant customer. Are?you planning world domination instead of fixing the problem?So i have a couple questions (which I assume that most of the people on this forum have):. Why does no one know what's happening, is it because Creative itself hasn't got a clue? Or does it just not communicate things to their support people?2. Is creative still doing development on their drivers for Vista (X-fi and Audigy 2)? Or are we stuck with these ones till the end of time? Ie.     [color="#000099">Hi MariVWell in response to your message, yes we can only thank creative for this board which seems to be the only form of support that the provide. That's a bit dodgy at best. I think that's even less than minimum requirement for providing decent support and even on this board the community is doing more than creative is. Heck I found more support on a?separate hardware forum which was not run by creative. As for buying an X-Fi not even that is working 00% and that's really not acceptable business practice, far from pure in my eyes. Pure business it about making profit and growing a company. If you loose a large chunk of your userbase due to poor support is that sound business practice? Surely you would provide support for products which are still being sold around the world and use that good support as a means to grow your userbase and create a community of repeat business. And by the way I was I have been a creative user since the Sound Blaster 8bit and have always spread the word on how cool and amazing Creative is. But that is no longer the case.     On the?research fine anyone can spend hours researching, grab libraries from previous versions and run them but that's just a plain old hack. Spending hours of time to get something which should just work(ala Download driver -> install -> finish -> possibly reboot -> Happy throw a party) is insane. Imagine if you had to spend and hour to get your mouse to work? Would you use that mouse ever again. And the fact that they are forcing everyone to upgrade and spend more money on sound?card would classify as extortion in my?books.
    As for being a Proud Audigy 2 NX user well good for you, I was a proud Audigy 2 zs Platinum user and well am no longer due to poor support. Well poor would mean that there was some.
    And after all of this I dont see how your comments are even on topic? What i am talking about is Creative's lack of any form of communication to it users. Heck people who provide information should be given an award (As in a financial reward for doing Creative's job, yes Thanks ppl who have been trying to help) but count how many responses were given by Creative and how much information was given out? Not a whole lot. And I dont see this changing in the near future, their communications have?been vague at best. We want information and all we get is crickets in the night from them.

    nokia customer service told me they no longer deal with CPW last weekand i could no longer get waranty repairs done by them and the nokia site no longer lists CPW as care points 
    but i am seeing posts on nokia users saying that nokia will be relisting the CPW
    by the end of the week and that CPW are still carepoints for nokia

    CPW were caught red-handed by Nokia breaching agreements for exclusive sales of handsets. Also, there were so many complaints about CPW's inability to do even the most basic repairs without messing something up. I wouldn't be at all asurprised to see that they were gone from Nokia's Care network for good, and not a minute too soon.

    got your message about making sure to use the machine specific disk that came with my machine. Unfortunately, Apple no longer sells Tiger replacement disks. I've got a couple of bids out on ebay, and will update when I have news to add to this post.

    To be clear you called the 800 number and explained what the situation was, old machine and lost the original DVD's?
    Just checking because if you just called and tried to buy the DVD's they might tell you they no longer sell them but you aren't really trying to buy them your trying to replace the ones that are missing.
    Ebay may work but there is a certain specificity to the DVD's required which, even if they seem right, might not work.
    Good luck either way. If you get a chance when you get the DVD's I'd be interested in hearing how it all works out.

    I have no idea what may have caused your MacBook to stop working, but from your description it kind of sounds like it may have started before you ran Software Update and installed the new Apps. Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
    As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
    I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
    As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue.

    Hi David.  I don't have as modern a Macbook Pro as you, mine is a 2012 model, but perhaps I can help.  I often find that my SD card will not load when I first insert it.  I have to remove it and then put it into the slot again firmly.
    You also haven't posted any information about the SD card.  What size is it, do you know how it is formatted, has it worked in that same mac previously, where did it come from, does it currently work in another device (such as your camera)?  This sort of information will help to narrow down the problem.
    If you post some more information I'm sure people will try to help you.  In the meantime, if you look at your post again you should see "More Like This" at the bottom of the page and you may find an answer in some of those related posts.

    The genius bar folks will be glad to help...and if you have backed up your iPhone in iCloud they will restore the backup to the replacement iPhone for you while you wait.
    Call or email for an appointment, you don't want to add to your frustration by standing around waiting for someone to get free to help you.

    Temporarily disable/turn off your anti-virus and firewall software and try the download again.

    You just now installed 10.8.5? Did you purchase that at the app store?
    What is the upgrade being offered?
    FWIW, you are not running iOS on a Mac Pro (we are talking about the desktop tower Mac Pro, right?)

    If the App Store is showing 10.8.5 as an update, what do you currently have installed? The final update to Mountain Lion was 10.8.5, and since the basic OS installation of Mountain Lion is no longer offered in the App Store, that would suggest you're currently at an earlier version of Mountain Lion - 10.8.x where x=less than 5. If that's the case, I'd suggest getting the 10.8.5 update. There is also a Supplemental Update for 10.8.5 and that may be what the App Store is offering.
