Watching DVD's and listening via external speakers?

I want to use my MPB in my RV. I have a headphone jack I can plug into the back of my 12V car stereo that I share with my Sirious Satalite radio.
I want to be able to watch DVD movies on my MBP and listen to them on the speakers in my RV. I can do this if my computer is not plugged in to the inverter and is just running on the computer's battery. As soon as I plug it in to the inverter I get a horrible buzzing sound. I can plug my computer in to the inverter however and listen to a movie with my headphones without any wierd noises. Any Ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

Your radio is pickup up the noise from the power source for your macbook. What you need is a supressor. You should be able to get them at any auto sound dealer.
It filters out the noise that come from other electrical sources, like altenators, and in you case the power source for you macbook. It gets connected to your radios 12v line.

Of course. If your Mac is compatible with AirPlay Mirroring, you can watch your DVD in your TV with the Apple TV. Read > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404 You just have to play the DVD on your MacBook and turn on AirPlay Mirroring.
If your Mac isn't compatible with AirPlay Mirroring, you can use a third-party app like Beamer

  • Listening to external speakers as well as the internal speakers

Does anyone know if I am able to plug in some external speakers into my imac and be able to listen to my internal speakers at the same time. Right now, If I hook up a wireless transmitter to my imac via the headphone jack, to transmit the signal to another room, it disables my internal speakers. I would like to be able to listen to the music while I'm on my imac also as well as transmit it. Any ideas.

There is no way we have found to use both int. & ext. What I would do is use a splitter and send it to your wireless trans. as well a 2.1 speaker set-up or stereo in the room with iMac.
You can buy a Stereo 3.5 Splitter just about anywhere:

Another one that you may find handy if your going to a stereo or tv!

  • Watching DVD in connected computer via Apple TV

Is it possible to watch a DVD in my connected iMac (mid-2010 model) , Mac Mini (most recent model), or MacBook Pro (most recent model) through Apple TV (most recent model)? I know I can rip the file and put it in iTunes, but was wondering if there was a way to stream the movie without doing that.
I know this it the Apple TV forum, and I am going to wager a guess that I can't do what I am asking with Apple TV. If you (whoever is answering this post) know, can I do this with app on my iPad 2? If so, any recommendations.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Neither tha Apple TV nor the iPad support DVD's, in many ways it's a post DVD device.

  • How to share files between pc and mac via external hard drive

how can i share my files(mp3,mp4,documents) from my harddisk with mac. i am a new mac user and i have a harddisk of NTFS format(as i was a pc user).I learned that mac supports FAT32 format and therefore i can't write data on my external hard drive.
but, reading a section of OSX yosemite(under compatibility) it is said that now we can easily share files between pc and mac.
So please suggest me easier way that how can i share files between macs and pc as my friends uses pc and in future i really want to share my data with them without any hustle and i dont wanna loose my data in future

You can format the HDD to a common one like ExFAT or Fat32 but a reformat will delete all data off of the HDD.
Your other option is to use a third party software such as Paragon or Tuxera that will allow you to write to a NFTS formatted HDD.

  • No music playback via external speakers with IPhone

I have recently purchased a new Iphone and have attempted to play them through my Klipsch desk speakers. I have used these speakers for nearly two years with a number of different IPods and my Mac laptop with no issues...all I have had to do is simply plug in the jack and hit play. However, with my new IPhone I have been unable to play anything through these speakers. All I get is a loud, rythmic clicking noise and no music. There is no issue with the jack itself; it is the standard 3.5mm plug. What am I missing?

All you need to do is strip back some of the rubber on your 3.5 mm jack with a knife and it will fit in there fine. The reason your getting that sound is because the cord isn't plugged in all of the way. Stripping some of the rubber off will make it fit just right. The reason iPod headphones work fine in the iPhone is because there is hardly any rubber around the jack of the headphones.

  • LOUD crackling and snapping in external speakers

Ever since the 10.5.8 update this MBP has been snapping crackling and popping. Anyone else hearing this? Very irritating, I am now just leaving the speakers off.

  • I can't hear iTunes music or internet radio but internal and external speakers are definitely working. Is there a key stroke I have set or some other, maybe Yosemite, issue?

I have checked my internal speakers on an iMac and also the external speakers - all working. When play music in iTunes the sound bar moves but no sound is heard.  Same problem if I want to listen to the radio via internet.  Has anyone a suggestion.  Is it a Yosemite issue - I have had others involving printers. thanks

like davis says then even though I have connected headset and external speakers to my imac then at boot up the boot sound comes out of the imac speaker
but once booted into OS X all audio is played out of the headset and ext speakers and the imac speakers are silent as the grave

  • When using Safari on the iPhone can you watch videos and listen to music?

Ok, this question might be stupid, but I just need to know.
Lets just say I use the iPhone and use Safari to go on myspace.
Can I watch a video on myspace? Can I listen to a song on someones profile??
I know you can just click the Youtube button and instantly watch a video. But on all the videos of the iPhone using Safari, NO videos show the iPhone using Safari to watch a video and listen to music on a webpage.
    So can it?

Speculating on whether/when Adobe Flash will be on iPhone is not permitted in Apple Discussions. But, you can read opinion elsewhere (there's no lack of it)... I'll give you a couple to start:

  • External speakers with built in speakers?

Is there a way to have audio come out through both built in speakers and external speakers?

The only way that comes to my mind is in the latest versions of iTunes using Airtunes, and this obviously applies only to sound comin from iTunes.
When using a pair of external speakers connected to the AirportExpress, you click on both "Computer" and "Airport" in iTunes output menu (next to the buttons for Equalizer, Full screen, eject). Now everything that goes through iTunes will be heard on the computer and on the external speakers.
This does not work with any other source of sound in your computer (quicktime, DVD player, VLC, etcétera), only with iTunes.

  • External speakers are no longer working, why?

Ive been Apple Airplay and now my external speakers no longer work on my imac, it is something to do with Airplay or is there something that I need to fix or reinstall?  Look forward to hearing from you.  TIA

    Hi,
There are no external speakers in Sound Preferences/ Output, only internal speakers, or if you plug something into the output port, Headphones, or a sound interface device. Hold down the Option key and click on the sound icon in the top menu bar on your display and you will see the options for output and input.
Have you got an audio system plugged into the output port? If it is not working, check your cables.

  • External speakers not recognized

After sucessfully setting up airport, and getting my external speakers to work, my apple network no longer sees the external speakers.  The speaker option does not come up at the bottom right of my iTunes screen.  Any ideas?
    TIA

Am I missing something here? Whenever I've connected a USB device

I've seen referenced to setting up the MIDI utility, could that be it?
Not sure what you mean by "the computer didn't recognize them."
Do they appear in *System Preferences > Sound > Output* ?
When I connect a USB audio output device, the system "sees" it -- but
doesn't automatically enable it as the active audio output. The system
default (internal speakers or headphone jack) remains in force 'til you
change it manually -- either in System Preferences > Sound > Output
or with /Applications/Utilities/Audio Midi Setup > Audio Devices.

  • 8.2.1 grays out external speakers

I updated to iTunes 8.2.1 and now my external speakers (which I accessed through my airport express) are grayed out. I've restarted my computer, unplugged and replugged the airport, and checked the iTunes prefs, making sure that "look for remote speakers with Airtunes" was checked. Don't know what else to try...
    Any ideas?
    Thanks! --Brian

Hey Brian - here's how I did it. It takes some work - but really not that much.
I used AppZapper http://www.appzapper.com/ to remove ITunes completely. This uninstaller will remove all of the associated application extensions ITunes uses. In order to remove iTunes, you have to go into preferences of that application and 'uncheck' the "Keep default applications safe". (AppZapper is free for the first 5 uses)
Once you remove iTunes, you can download the previous version (8.2) from Softpedia at: http://news.softpedia.com/news/Download-iTunes-8-2-for-Mac-and-Windows-113083.sh tml
Download, install, and all should work. (You will have to review your preferences in iTunes, but the good news is the library catalog stays intact.
Let me know if you run into trouble.

  • Is there any way to disable external speakers w/front headphone jack?

I do a lot of home recording, and that means I often switch back and forth from external speakers to headphones. However, when I plug my headphones into the front jack on my G4, the sound still plays out the external speakers. This is, obviously, quite bothersome. Is there any way to have my Mac disable the external speakers when I connect my headphones? Thanks!

Searched, found out it isn't possible.
