Im wonderig if someone is certain if the out of warranty replacement Will work on my European iphone 5 in the US? And if it does, how much will it cost?
And its very important that your certain and not guessing since ill travel to the US and dont know if i should buy à new one now or try the first option.

warranty and post warranty (including OoW ) are only supported in the Country of purchase (or within EU if purchased in an EU country)

I have an Original Iphone 2g. It is broken and needs an Out-of-Warranty replacement. However, I live in Canada and went to talk to a genius at and Apple store here who told me that because it was never available in Canada he can't touch it. He said I could drive down to the States, but that is quite the mission. I am just wondering what my options might be besides that? Can I not just mail it into apple? I don't want them to charge me $99999.99 for diagnostic fees, mail and then they say a replacement is not possible.

The original iPhone was indeed never released in Canada, so you would have to drive to the US for service or send it someone you know in the US who could take it to Apple on your behalf and then return it to you (Apple will not accept out-of-country shipments nor ship the replacement out of the US). You could still get it replaced at an Apple Store for $149 US:

Going through a third-party shop may be cheaper, but again it may not, depending on what's wrong with the iPhone. In either case I don't know if that old iPhone is worth it. It might be better to put the money toward a new iPhone; you can get a new unlocked 3GS for CA$375 from the Apple Store.

Iphone 4 16 gb out of warranty replacement

Hello, I have a Iphone 4, 16gb, that is past its applecare warranty. I heard that you can sometimes pay a $149 fee to get an exact replacement. Is this true? What are the limitations? The phone works for the most part, but the sound/vibrate switch keeps braking (fixed twice already) and the main button is not so sensitive any more.

Yes, it's true. If it's not functioning and Apple determines it's a hardware problem, you can get an out of warranty replacement.

How EXACTLY, did you get this fixed? If you opened the phone, or had it fixed by an unauthorized 3rd party, Apple won't touch that phone. You can not get a replacement from Apple.

I have just dropped a dumbbell on my iphone 3GS, (dohhh!), the screen has cracked at the top but shattered down the bottom. The phone is still on and charges however i cant use touch screen at the bottom where it has shattered, there allso tiny bits of loose glass at this part.
The phone is out of warranty but would I qualify for the out of warranty replacement? I would jsut go to Apple and ask but its not very close!

Very, very unlikely as the iPhone warranty is generally valid only in the country of purchase. The out of warranty replacement is also valid in Europe. Just hop on down to your local Apple store for the exchange.

The cheapest and most efficient method would be to do a battery replacement. To do so bring your iPhone to a local Genius Bar and they will replace the whole device for 79$ US. If they do not have the device in stock, thay will ship one to you and your 3GS will need to be returned to Apple. Alternatively you can contact Apple Care and order a battery replacement phone for 79$ + shipping. It will be replaced with a 3GS as they are still in production for AT&T new. The Genius Bar option is the best though as you are guaranteed a new phone if they have it in stock!

I would have expected this cost to decrease not increase with the announcement of the new iPhones yesterday.

I think they must have increased it recently because I was told $269 to replace my iPhone 5 on 9/13/13. I don't know how iPhone 5 replacements are going to work out now that they won't be carrying them anymore.

Yesterday i dropped my phone and the screen got shattered. The phone is working fine. but the screen is cracked.
After searching through the internet, i found out the following options:
Getting Out-of-warranty Replacement.
Getting the screen repaired by Apple Store.
I am located in India and had bought the phone from India only.
So my questions are?
What is the cost of getting an out-of warranty replacement for iPhone 5?
Can i get a replacement for a higher model of iPhone( maybe 5s or upcoming iPhone 6). If yes, how much extra i'll have to pay?

Apple no longer sells the iPhone 5. They keep a number of units on hand for out of warranty service, which is $269 in the US.
Buying from Craiglist (or on-line) is usually risky as the phones turn out to be not what they are advertised as.
