Waveburner special characters in CDText Problem

Hi all,
first post
Been trying to burn a CD (internal drive) with Spanish titles in CDText and the special characters get corrupted (ñ ó í ).
This doesn't happen in Toast8 and seems specific to Waveburner (using 1.2)
I normally use the English keyboard layout and tried using the Spanish and Spanish ISO layouts to see if there was a difference, but no.
I would upload a picture to show but I don't know how.
so I'll describe:
Song title burned with Toast8: 1. Muñeca
Song title burned with WBP: 1. Mu∆eca
This was checked re-inserting the burned disc and command+I on toast
Also checked on a PC using "Audio Label" program which reads CDText.
This might not seem like a big problem but I simply cannot send a Master disc with Spanish titles to a CD plant which is a bummer.
I'm updating Logic Pro 7.2 to 8 soon which has Waveburner 1.5
I wonder if this is fixed?
Cheers

CD Text is apparently supposed to be in the ISO 8859 character set. Consequently european characters are supposed to be allowed in CD-Text. Every single title on my two last projects contained åäö and the meaning of a word will become drastically different - "låt" and "lat" are completely unrelated words ("song" and "lazy"). So you can't just drop them. If you just "drop" dots and rings that would be like dropping the dot over the "i". Does that make the "i" an "l" (L)?
Barring a CD-player that shows CD-text, what program can inspect an audio CD and tell what's on it?

  • Special characters and JDBC problem

    I am trying to retrieve special characters, e.g. c from the
    database. The problem is that the characters always show
    up as ?. I use getString to get the data from the database.
    The character set that my database uses is US7ASCII and the
    sqlplus program displays the correct dataset. It's only
    in the Java program where the display gets all screwed up.
    Help or direction of any kind would be greatly appreciated.

    This is because you are using the wrong database character set
    for storing your data . In the 7-bit ASCII encoding scheme, c or
    other non 7-bit data do not exist.
    Java can not handle the conversion of invalid characters inside
    your database , because it does not know what they are. What you
    need to do is to change your database character set to match the
    encoding of the data inside your database.

  • Problem with flat file loading/Special characters

    Hi, All,
    We just migrated from Version 3.0B to BI7.0, and I've a problem which I can't handle for the moment. We are in Unicode, current codepage of the server is 4103 and codepage of frontend is 4110 (from SNL1 Transaction).
    I'm loading czech texts in my material, via CSV files. The CSV file is correct on my PC, I see the special characters.
    The problem is on my loading, whatever Character set I choose in the Infopackage (I choose Standard or Character Set Setting User-dependant), I cannot see the good characters.
    Does any one of you already encounter this kind of problem, and, if yes, how did you solve it ?
    Thanks

    hi,
    check out with your flat file letter's type, if it's in lower case letter's change them in
    upper case letter's. or otherwise change the infobject's type as-- select check box
    corresponding to lower case letter's in infoobject.
    if helpful provide points

  • Special characters in the shared key when importing firewalls

    Hello
    We are using CWVMS to import and configure PIX firewalls.
    The shared isakmp key of one of the firewalls has not been accepted during import because it contains special characters.
    The problem is that the customer does not have authority to change the key.
    Does Management Center for Firewalls really accept only alphanumeric isakmp keys ? Is there another alternative to changing the key ?
    Thank you sincerely for your help.

    I am not sure what your problem is. But ISAKMP keys can be changed directly on the PIX using the command line interface. I have not used any special character in the ISAKMP keys. Can anyone confirm that special characters can be used within ISAKMP keys?

  • Using special characters in photoshop

    I would like to use the copyright character, which I can access through >edit ,then  >special characters. The problem is how do I use it in photoshop? I have dragged it on the desktop, but photoshop does not read the file it is saved in. The character won't open in preview, so I can not format it. The photoshop shortcut key- option G does not work. Is there another way?

    If you open a text field in Photoshop, you should be able to double-click on the character in Character Viewer and it should be input into the field.

  • A problem with regex and special characters

    Hello,
    I am using regex in my application but i have a problem with special characters. Here is the explanation of what i am doing:
    I have a certain piece of text that i want to parse and replace every occurrence of a given word with some sort of a tag which have the word found inside it.
    so that: go Going Go to gOschool by bus and to learn and to play GO Go
    and i need to replace the word "go" (case insensitive and only at word boundaries) should be:
    *<start>go<end> Going <start>Go<end> to gOschool by bus and to learn and to play <start>GO<end> <start>Go<end>*
    Consider the following code and call the method with the parameter"go?"
    The Matcher finds a weird match at the word "G?oing" with only the letter G !!!
    It also ignores the "?" in the pattern completely.
    Any clue of what is happening i would be very grateful...

    replaceAll will replace all the occurrences in the text with only one word. without taking into consideration the case of the word i need to replace.No.

    If i use replacaAll(article, strToFind) the output will be:

  • Text fields special characters problem in forms created with ID

    Hi there,
    I'm creating form document with ID.
    The problem with special characters appears after exporting file to interactive pdf.
    When filling up text field, special characters (polish language specials in my case) are replaced by squares.
    I do not know if this is a ID problem (and I should set encoding during pdf creation somehow) or Acrobat/Reader problem (tried both and also in Polish or English versions).
    Some help would be appreciated.

    I am Creative Cloud User and downloaded fresh ID less than 2 hours ago.. And honestly the last thing I would think about was updating.
    But in fact - it was the problem.
    So thank you very much for help!

    Hi!
    I am currently developing an Application on Application Express 3.1.2.00.02 including a page with an Interactive Report, facing the problem that I cannot use special german characters in the Searchbar.
    So if i try to find a name like 'Schröder' the created Filter looks like this 'Schröder' and i won't get any valid search results. By the way the rest of the application supports these special characters like using them in Buttons or any other Page elements.
    Does anyone have a clue how to fix this problem, because it's driving me nuts ;)

    f01     contains

    p_flow_id     100
    p_flow_step_id     50

  • File XML Content Conversion: Problem with special characters

    Hello,
    in a file sender cc content conversion is used to transform a flat structure to XML. What we experiencecd is that the message mapping failed due to a character that was not allowed in XML:
    I was assuming that the file content conversion just creates XML messages with allowed characters. Is there any way to configure content conversion to remove control characters which are not allowed in XML? Unfortunately the sender system cannot be modified.
    Thank you.

    Hi Florian,
      Please use this UDF to remove special characters which prevent XML messages to form properly.
    public static String removeSpecialChar(String s)
              try
                   s=s.replaceAll("&","& amp ;");
                   s=s.replaceAll("<"  , "  & lt ;");
                   s=s.replaceAll(">", "& gt ;");

                   s=s.replaceAll("\"", "& quot ;");
              catch(Exception e)
                   e.printStackTrace();
              return s;
    Please remove spaces between characters within double quotes. I have added them because otherwise you can't see this code properly. Please check this below link , please replace the characters with proper values as the display is causing a problem here

    Your UDF could be something like this:
    String output = null;
    String strs[] = input.split("\\?");
    String charset = strs[1];
    String encoding = null;
    switch (strs[2].charAt(0)) {
         case 'Q' :

    try {
         InputStream is = new ByteArrayInputStream(subject.getBytes());
         InputStream dis = MimeUtility.decode(is, encoding);
         ByteArrayOutputStream out = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
         byte[] b = new byte[4096];
         for (int n;(n = dis.read(b)) != -1;) {
              out.write(b, 0, n);
         output = out.toString(charset);
    } catch (Exception e) {
         //implement catch...
    return output;
    where input is the input string.
    For test purposes, use
    String input = "=?KOI8-R?B?Rnc6IDEwMjEwMTMwLzA1MTEwNi/wMDE3NDkzLw==?=";
    or
    String input = "=?utf-8?Q?Auftragsbest=C3=A4tigung?=";

  • Problems with special characters like "u00F6" "u00E4" "u00FC"

    Hi,
    we currently face some major problems with special characters like "ö" "ä" "ü". First I thought it is a SP02 specific problem but it still doesn't work with SP03.
    When I start an import the import manager shows correct converted value. "ö"s "ä"s "ü"s are displayed correctly. But after I've done the import I look into the Data manager and I see instead of these characters charcaters like "&#776;". (note: the character should show a little square box - but the forum cannot desplay it)
    How can I solve this problem?
    Regards
    Nico

    Hi Nico
      Just try it out the following steps, hope it solves ur issue.
    <b>To set one or more values back to their original values:</b>
    1. In the Import Manager Source Values grid, select the values that you want to set back to their original values.
    2. Right-click on one of the values and choose Set to Original Value from the context menu, or choose Values > Apply Value Conversion Filter > Set to Original Value from the main menu.
    3. MDME sets each value back to its original value, which appears in black in the Source Values grid.
    <b>NOTE : You can use the Set to Original Value filter only at the value-level and not at the field level.</b>
    thanks
    Alexander

  • Problems with german special characters on DOC export.

    Hello,
    I have a problem when I export a pdf to doc via the adobe cloud feature. Everything works fine except for the special german characters. And since I want to use this tool to convert my latex pdf to word to use the spellchecker for me the entire system is broken. Do I need to change to a special encoding of my textfiles for this to work? Can you fix this somehow?
    Cheers
    nenTi

    I use Arial as font generated by MiKTex. So I doubt it's a font problem. Also it detects all other characters without a problem, only the german special chars äöüÄÖÜß are a problem for the system.
    Try it yourself:
    "Hier ist mein scheiß überfordertes konvertierungs script und rödel vor sich hin ohne ännähernd befriedigendes Ergebniß."
    You won't have the special chars editable in the doc. It is visible but you can't edit it because it is converted to something strange.
