WBS long text

Hello.
I need some help for an ABAP report.
How can I find back a WBS long text in table STXH from a WBS in table PRPS? Via the OBJNR? Is there any conversion?

Hello,
the way to find it out is that you set a breakpoint into the function module READ_TEXT ( via SE37) and then process a PSP-Element with a long text via CJ12 or CJ13.
The transaction will stop at the breakpoint, an you get the text-id/text-name/ text-object from the input parameters on the function module.
If i try, it says ID = 'LTXT', name = 'E'<PRPS-PSPNR>, object = 'PMS', but for a WBS text there may be other parameters.
If you need the logic in an own programm, you could use the function READ_TEXT instead of selecting texts via STXH/STXL.

1) I am extracting Projects, WBS , Network , Network activity and network activity element from a SAP 4.7 system using bapi's

I am able to get all the details except long text. I want to know how do i extract the long text other than getting it manually by using select_text and Read_text Function module, is there any bapi to achieve this.
The reason why i am not using Function modules Read_text and Write_text is, object name( TDNAME ) value stored in STXH table for project, wbs and network are the project, wbs and network itself so i dont have any issues with this but the TDname value for activity and activity element are completely different ( Routing number and counter is stored respectively ) which i am not getting as the part of the bapi(BAPI_NETWORK_GETINFO) output.
2) I have to upload the extracted Project and it sub object data to ECC 6.0 system , i am able to achieve this by using BAPI's BAPI_PROJECTDET_CREATE, BAPI_PROJECT_MAINTAIN and BAPI_NETWORK_MAINTAIN. I am not able to load the longtext for the same, is there any way to load the long text .
All help will be greatly appreciated and rewarded.

I don't think there is any BAPI to do it.
We are doing it by read_text & edit_text . required fields for text name can be fetched by following select
if not e_activity[] is initial.

Copy long text from PROJ to WBS

When creating a new project (CJ01) I create new WBS and populate its fields from project automatically.
I use enhancement and everything is copying ok except the long text.
I do READ_TEXT and it get long text from project (TEXT_HEADER-TDNAME D99999999)
Then i do SAVE_TEXT and not getting any error (TEXT_HEADER-TDNAME E99999999)
But the long text of WBS is empty.
How should i copy long text right?
I traced program and found out that after my enhancement is passed,
WBS element is not activated and rewrited by initial data from PRPS-POST1
How should i activate wbs then?

Short Text and Long Text for WBS

HI All,
I am working on Interface Project where I need to enter Short description and long text for a WBS with external text.
Let me know if any FM Module is exist for same where I can Put this Short Description and Long Text seprately for a WBS Element.

Hi Atul,
I think you can enter short description & long text seprately for a WBS while creating entire struture of project in PS only. I don't think other than PS you will be able to enter short & long text for individual WBS.

Long Text at Activity Level in CJ20N

I need to print the Long Text Tab at the Activity Level (not at Project/WBS/Network level) in CJ20N using the Read_Text Function Module.

Table for Long Texts of MICs in Tasklist

Dear All
Can any body tell me from which SAP table i can get the LONG TEXT maintained for MICs in any tasklist.
Table PLMK only shows wether long text maintained or not, but i want the value in LONG TEXT.

This may be helpful.
SAP stores comments (text fields) in a separate table. STXH is the text
"header" table (STXD SAPscript text file header). STXH-TDOBJECT =
'KNA1' will bring back all the customer comment headers. STXH-
TDNAME='0000010744' is the header record for the comment for customer
10744.
It is not always so simple to figure out what the TDOBJECT (object needed by function below - sometimes it is a table name, other times...), TDNAME (name needed by function below - sometimes it is a document number & line item or customer number, other times... ) & TDID (id needed by function below - it is always the long text id). There are several methods that can be used. You can create the long text that you are researching and using, SE16 for table STXH search TDLUSER = to your kerberos principal and TDLDATE = to today's date. This is modify date & user. Alternatively, you can find an existing item with the long text and figure out the date and user who last modified it and use this information in your search. Once you have STXH row for text of interest, use ZCAFTXT to test your research. Project Titles and WBS Titles are a bit more complex.

Display long text of characteristic in Query name

I have implemented RRI between my sender and receiver query.
When user will click on WBS Element in my sender query the receiver query name will be the name of that WBS Element.
After execution,I am able to see the Short text associated with Characteristic WBS ELement but i want to display Long text of WBS Element in Receiver query name.
I have tried to implement the same logic as suggested by Bhanu in following blog:

Need to pull LONG TEXT into Sales Invoice

We have a Projects and we maintain some long text for these WBSes of projects. Now we need to move them to Invoices. Is there any table where in we can store these texts and then we pull in Invoice ? We can also move to Debot Memo request and then to Invoice. How do I store TEXT as its a structure where in it gets stored.

Database Table where modifications to message long text are stored (log)

Hi,
As per manual correction mentioned in SAP note 1144291,
we have changed the long text for message XC092 by modification of the long text.
This note 1144291 is a pre-requisite for SAP Note 1310808.
After the notes were implemented, it is noticed that message CURTO1055 has incorrect information in its long text. This is because, the variable in the long text are not correctly defined in the long text.
Both the messages XC-092 and CURTO1-055 are SAP standard.
The error for CURTO1-055 can be rectified by modification of the long text and maintenance of the correct variables.
However, my question is:
Where do we check the log for document modifcation for a message long text.
I have found the logs relevant to my modification in table DOKHL and DOKIL.
But in which table do we get all of the foll. data:
- Message class
- Message number
- Modification name
- Modification created by
- Modification done on
- Last changed by
- Last changed on
Kindly help. A <removed by moderator> solution would be really helpful.

The modification changes would be in the SMODILOG table. Please note this is a core basis table and should not be changed, however to best find your changes search under the TRKORR field with the relevant tp request.

Can not see long text description of a characteristics in portal

Hi experts,
I designed two queries via Query designer and published them to portal but I can not see the the long text description of "Name" attribute belongs to 0BPARTNER characteristics.
One of the queries shows only the last name of partner in portal while it is showing full name and last name in Bex Analyzer. The other query shows only the key value in both portal and Bex Analyzer.
I want to see long text description in both queries.
For an additional information, I'm extracting data from CRM 5.00 to BW 7.00
What will be the reason for this and how can I solve it?
Can anyone help me for this issue, it's a kind of emergency situation.

we have the same problem.
We want to change only in the screen variable the hierarchy text (from default to long\medium text) but even if there's a possibility to do this, really it doesn't happen anything - it' s possible when you start query, in the selection screen inside every the variable there's a command "User Settings" in which manage what you want to see (I put display custom, as text, medium text).
I try to do this also in query analizer, selecting variable (hierarchy) and enter in this (user setting), changing in display custom as text - medium text, but even if I save this settings, really doesn't happen anything.
It seems the system isn't sensitive to this selection...
By now, if someone has an answer, please write us!

Creating a long text using ABAP code.. fm SAVE_TEXT

When you create an order via IW31 one of the options is to click on the text button and create a long text. I am basically trying to mimic this action from within my ABAP code.
The text id details are as follows:
Text Name 500000015000046 which is (5000000 + order number)
Language EN
Text ID KOPF Order header text
Text Object AUFK Order text
If i manually create the text within the transaction i am then able to view and update it via function modules READ_TEXT and SAVE_TEXT. But if the text has not already been created READ_TEXT obviously returns nothing as it does not exist and SAVE_TEXT does not seem to created it!
Anyone know how i would go about creating this text using ABAP code?
