WCS 4.0 - Error: RMI FATAL ERROR. ERROR DETAIL: Connection Refused

Have observed the following software defect in WCS 4.0:
When clicking on a Mac Address link in a list of client MAC addresses, the following error is displayed: "Error: RMI FATAL ERROR. ERROR DETAIL: Connection Refused". The same error occurs when clicking on the MAC address URL within a list of rogue APs.
Is this a configuration issue or a software defect?
For reference, the WCS/WLC configuration is as follows:
=======================================================
WCS Version 4.0.81.0 Base+Location
Windows 2003 with WCS running as a service.
Multi-processor Xeon, 8 GB of RAM.
Two 4404 WLC controllers v4.0.179.8

This is one to use TRACE level debugging, and a repeated process, to analyse the WCS logs for possible problem
identification.

  • RMI Protocol over JRMP transport: connection refused

I changed the look and feel for disco plus to Jinitiator. I then started getting error RMI Protocol over JRMP transport: connection refused to host: 192.168.1.1
I changed the settings back to java plugin 1.4 but I'm still getting the same error on all client machines.
I'm running windows 2003 and application server 10.1.2.0.2
    Thanks for any help,
    Brian

    Hi Brian
When you changed to JInitiator what did you set the style to be? Also, why would you not want to use the Sun Java?
Anyhow, try getting the users to clear their local Sun Java cache, this will release the applet causing it to reload upon next connection, and try again.
If you want to retry JInitiator, try this:
    1. Go to Control Panel | JInitiator 1.3.1.x or whatever version you are using
    2. Navigate to the Proxies tab
    3. Uncheck Use Browser Settings
    4. Click the Apply button
    5. Close all browser windows
    6. Reconnect to Discoverer Plus
If the above steps do not help, try editing the security details of the Options menu in the Internet Explorer using this workflow:
    1. On the client machine, launch IE
    2. From the toolbar, select Tools | Internet Options
    3. Navigate to the Security tab
    4. Click on the Trusted Sites icon
    5. Click on the Sites button
    6. Add a fully, qualified HTTP link to your server
    7. Close all browser windows
    8. Reconnect to Discoverer Plus
Of the two solutions above, the first is most likely to fix your issue. However, I advise all my customers to set up the application server connections as being trusted sites.
One additional thing would be to delete your cookies. Discoverer Plus loves cookies.

  • Solaris 10 Gives Error (ld: fatal: relocation error: R_386_32) w/ gcc-4.2.3

I am attempting to run a build of a system known as nauticus under Solaris 10 but I am getting the following error:
ld: fatal: relocation error: R_386_32: file .rel.debug_info: section: /home/dmclaug/trees/gcctree/trunk/build-solaris-4.2.3/src-nauticus/bin/solaris/libsmftypes.o: offset: 0x23e3d6: relocation requires reference symbol

This system has been successfully built using gcc-3.2.3 under Solaris 10, but the error above is generated now that we have installed gcc-4.2.3. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing the problem here? Are there additional flags or switches that are required?

  • How can I localize the alert "error: PANIC: fatal region error detected..."

My application may corrupt and the operations therefore may fail and post the alert "error: PANIC: fatal region error detected; run recovery ...", and this alert is directly printed in the main process's window.
My question is how can I do to localize this alert in my thread which just deals with the Berkeley DB database?
    Thanks

    Hi,
You can configure an error callback function. See the run-time error configuration section of the Reference Guide here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/ref/debug/runtime.html
It sounds like DB_ENV->set_errcall is what you want:

  • RMI Protocol over JRMP transport: connection refused to host: 10.10.10.10

    Hi,
We migrated our Discoverer 9.0.2 to 10.1.2. However, when we connected to Discoverer Plus, the message saying "RMI Protocol over JRMP transport: connection refused to host: 10.10.10.10" appeared. We use the "Default" communication protocol and Sun JVM 1.4+ is installed in the client. Do you know what's happening?
    Thanks.
    Andy

    Hi Andy
It could be a Java incompatibility issue. On one of your client machines try removing Java altogether and then reconnecting to Discoverer Plus. The server should send down a new, clean version of the Java.
Try this and let me know how you get on
    Best wishes

  • Help with Error:  PANIC: fatal region error detected; run recovery

Here's what I'm trying to do:
I am trying to us BDBXML in a webapp using tomcat 5.5. I have a class that is responsible for opening and closing the db. This class is accessed by a servlet for some AJAX RCP stuff and it also serves as an access point for a Web Service (Apache Axis). This class looks like this:

    private javax.xml.datatype.DatatypeFactory datatypeFactory;
    private Environment environment;
    private EnvironmentConfig environmentConf;

I've set this up on a Window XP machine using tomcat 5.5 and java 5 as well as a Redhat Linux machine with tomcat 5.5 and java 5. I'm using the Web Service point for other servers to access the database. Everything starts up and runs for a little while, but I can't seem to pin down what causes the errors. I've run recovery multiple times as well as started new databases. Any help is appreciated.

There's a bug in your use of DB XML somewhere. Are you committing or aborting every transaction that you start, and calling delete() explicitly on all the DB XML objects that you use?
Those errors mean your database has become corrupted somehow.

  • Agent Error? IOException in sending Request :: Connection refused: connect

For the past couple of days, I have been running into the "IOException in sending Request :: Connection refused: connect" error. I am running 10.2.01 on Windows 2003R2.
Along with this error, the DB Control shows agent unreachable.
Is there anything that anyone knows that may have caused this issue?
    Thank You in advance,

    Jhep,
Have you changed the timezone settings on the database server? Check emdctl.trc and see what it says. In the meanwhile, (a) stop dbconsole service, (b) execute emctl resetTZ agent and (c) restart dbconsole service.
Kindly should refer to the following Metalink Notes for a possible workaround:

  • I have encountered the new error "Fatal internal error fpinit.cpp line 7398

I get the error message "Fatal internal error fpinit.cpp line 7398".
    I use:
    TestStand 2.0
    LabView 7.1
    Vision 7.1
    uEye USb Camera
I've included into my TestStand programm some new steps that control the uEye USB Camera.
I use following steps (all steps written in LabView):
    - Initialze Camera
    - Wait
    - Close Camera
    - Wait
I have the settings "Load dynamically" in TestStand"
If I use also the setting "Unload  after sequence executes" and start the sequence I get somtimes a LabView error after running the Step for the Camera initialization. LabView is sometimes immediatlly closed. This happen at leased after 10 turns/starts of the programm. If I use the loop functions "Loop on selected steps" it happen only sometimes at the first loop. The initialize Camera Step is every time pass, if TestStand try to run the next step I get a error.( Sometimes I get also the message ActiveX Server got lost)
I detected also that sometimes in this case a constant in a other vi is emty.
Normally I use the setting "Unload  when sequence file is closed" then I have the problem only sometimes at the first turn.
If the initialize Camera step is succesfull I have no problem with further camera steps.
    Regards
    Alexander

    Hi Alex,
I'd suggest to replace all ctl. with new ones.
Perhaps one of them is corrupt.
You will find a documentation about preferred execution system
in the LabVIEW help. I also attached this files.

  • Solaris Studio 12.3 demangle fatal internal error: information lost in character quoting

    Hello,
I have run into a problem with the Solaris Studio 12.3 compiler when building one source file that makes use of the open source Eigen library.  The compilation fails with the error:
demangle fatal internal error: information lost in character quoting
    CC: fbe failed for CSeasonalComponent.cc
The full command that fails is:
    CC -c -o .objs/CSeasonalComponent.o -m64 -g3 -fsimple=1 -O4 -xbuiltin=%all -xlibmil -xlibmopt -xarch=sse3 -xchip=nehalem -nofstore -xalias_level=compatible -features=extensions -errtags +w -erroff=anonnotype,anonstruct,badargtype2w,hidef,notemsource,wbadasg -library=Crun -library=no%Cstd -KPIC  -mt -I/usr/local/stdcxx/include -I/usr/include -I/usr/local/include -DSOLARIS -D_POSIX_PTHREAD_SEMANTICS -D_RWSTD_NO_STRING_MUTEX -D_RWSTD_MINIMUM_STRING_CAPACITY=22 -D_RWSTD_NO_LIST_NODE_BUFFER -DBOOST_MATH_NO_LONG_DOUBLE_MATH_FUNCTIONS -DEIGEN_MPL2_ONLY -DEIGEN_DONT_USE_RESTRICT_KEYWORD -DNDEBUG -I/export/home/dave/source/local/include -I/usr/local/include/boost-1_54 CSeasonalComponent.cc
The problem goes away if the -g3 flag is removed.  Replacing -g3 with -g0 does not help - the same fatal error occurs.  (Removing the -g0/-g3 options has the effect of not passing a -dbgfile option to the fbe program, and this appears to be what avoids the problem.)
The information in this question is from a Solaris x86 machine, although the same "demangle fatal internal error: information lost in character quoting" also occurs on SPARC with the same source file and similar (although obviously not identical) compiler options.
The result of running the CC command that fails with the -dryrun option added is this:
    ### CC: Note: NLSPATH = /opt/solarisstudio12.3/prod/bin/../lib/locale/%L/LC_MESSAGES/%N.cat:/opt/solarisstudio12.3/prod/bin/../../lib/locale/%L/LC_MESSAGES/%N.cat

    results in this:
    as: Sun Compiler Common 12.3 SunOS_i386 2011/11/16
demangle fatal internal error: information lost in character quoting
I would be happy to provide the /tmp/ube.1386778859.8273.08.s and /tmp/ube.1386778859.8273.09.dbg files to assist with reproduction of this problem if anyone is interested.

The problem with creating a simple test case that doesn't rely on Boost or Eigen is that the error message is so vague that there's no hint about where to start.  The pre-processed source of the file that causes the problem is 4.7MB so trying to chop that down without any clue as to what's relevant is going to be very hard.
You could do everyone a favour if future internal error messages contained at least some information about what caused the problem.  I know they're not supposed to happen at all, but clearly they occasionally do.  For example, instead of:
demangle fatal internal error: information lost in character quoting
    something like:
demangle fatal internal error: information lost in character quoting: corrupt symbol is __1cFEigenPPlainObjectBase4n0AGMatrix4CdIBiBiAIBiB___KresizeLike4n0AOGeneralProduct4n0AFBlock4Ckn0AGMatrix4CdIBIB_"""_oops
Then that would give somebody trying to report the problem or change their code to avoid it a starting point for where to look.
Anyway, I've worked around the problem by changing -g3 in the CXXFLAGS in the Makefile to `test $< = CSeasonalComponent.cc || echo -g3` which avoids the error.  And hopefully like you say it's a known problem that's already fixed in the next version of Solaris Studio.

    What could be issue ???

    Hi,
    Error:
GGSCI (ggtarget) 16> start replicat RLOAD
Sending START request to MANAGER ...
ERROR: opening port for MGR MGR (Connection refused).
You can start Manager, but when you try to start Replicat, GGSCI gives me a connection timeout error
    Solution:
GoldenGate uses a TCP/IP socket to communicate between local processes. When you issue a START, STOP, SEND, or other command in GGSCI, the command interface will try to open a local port for the process.
Here is how to find out which local ports these processes are listening on. In the dirpcs directory, there will be one file for each running GoldenGate process.
For Manager, the file name will be MGR.pcm.
For Extract, it will be <GROUP_NAME>.pce.
For Replicat, it will be <GROUP_NAME>.pcr.
These are text files that can be viewed by using cat or any equivalent command. For example, the MGR.cpm file content will read like this:
PROGRAM MGR PROCESSID MGR PORT sys1.4356 PID 60070
After the keyword PORT will be the local hostname and the port number that Manager is supposed to be running on. In the preceding example, the hostname is sys1, and the port is 4356.
The program (ggsci) tries to use that hostname to communicate to the process (Extract/Replicat/Manager) when the command is issued in GGSCI. If you get a timeout or connection-refused error on the command, that means GoldenGate could not connect to the local host. Most of the time, you should have no problem connecting to a local host, but when you have the wrong IP address or routine table configured in your TCP/IP settings, connection errors can happen.
To troubleshoot this, follow the steps below
    1. Try to ping that host name from the OS shell to see if it goes to the correct IP address (which should be the one for the local system).
    2. If the ping is successful, try to telnet to the Manager port on your local host. You will be able to see your telnet session connect if a Manager is listening on that port.
    Here is an example:
    shell>telnet
    telnet> open sys1 4356
    Trying 100.100.100.100...
    Connected to sys1.oracle.com (100.100.100.100).
    Escape character is '^]'.
    3. If your telnet session times out or gets a connection-refused error, that means either the hostname is wrong or the port number is wrong.
If the ping to the hostname listed in the pcm/pce/pcr file fails, or if you cannot connect your telnet session to the port listed in the file(s), contact your network engineers to get the TCP/IP issue resolved.
    Hope this information helps.
    Thanks & Regards
    Santhosh

  • Xquery: Connection refused error

    Hi,
I am trying to use XQuery to set a variable with the value from an XML
    Message. However when
I test any simple XQuery expression in the map dialog I get the following
    error message:
Exception occurred executing XQuery: Connection refused

    Thanks

    Hi Raj,
Thanks for the reply. I tried the sample xqueries that come with sample
    applications in the default
workshop domain and these work fine. By the way my domain is an Integration
    domain. Do
I have to make it a workshop domain?
Also I noticed that workshop freezes for a long time when I try to test by
process by selecting the start option. If I use the 'Start without debug
option' the debugging option is bypassed and it starts up fine. Can you
explain to me the mechanism by which the XQueries are being executed?
It appears that there is some kind of server that workshop has to connect to
    and also possible some
    roles or priviledges are required.
    Thanks

    Henry,
Is the behavior the same when you run any of the XQuery samples ? Listed

    IrekIrek,
Did you ever figure out how to fix this issue with the Sun Webserver 6.1 that you had back in July last year with the "Error receiving request from <ip address> (Connection refused)" messages? We are getting the same errors on our Sun ONE / Sun Java System webserver version 6.1 SP6. Please let me know.

  • Is a Disk Utility "fatal hardware Error" Always fatal?

    Help!
I'm traveling for the next four weeks and have my lap top with me to do work.
Last night I was working fine on my computer when all of a sudden Photoshop wouldn't open files right. I quite out of Photoshop (slow)
Then tried to quit out of everything else (slow) and finally shut down holding the Power button down. I waited a few minutes and tried to reboot.
It was REALLY slow starting back up. (about 15 to 20 minutes). I held the Power key down to turn it off and left it overnight hoping it would figure itself out by morning.
This am the same start up problem happened. I finally got it opened and manuvered to Disk Utility.
    IT GAVE ME THIS MESSAGE
This drive has reported a Fatal Hardware Error to Disk utility.
If the drive has not failed completely, Back up as much as you can and
then replace it with a working drive.
HERE IS WHAT I DID EARLIER IN THE EVENING THAT I THINK MADE IT WACKY.
I hadn't installed SUITCASE X1 yet and was using the program Font Book that comes with the computer. It wasn't satifactory so I went ahead and installed Suitcase X1.
FONT BOOK kept showing a ton of open faces.
I carefully (or so I thought) went through Font Books "All fonts" window and got rid of fonts that I didn't see in the system fonts folder. (I think this is where I really may have screwed up)
FYI I am a graphic designer and use many fonts.
I store all the design fonts in a folder in USERS > SHARED> FONTS
I directed SUITCASE to "Manage system fonts"
Every thing was working fine for a few hours.
I was working in QUARK 6 easily and listening to a Podcast. No problems.
When I went to open PHOTOSHOP, it (Photoshop) started running very slow.
and all the things I mentioned above started to happen.
I have the OS10.4 install disk with me so I tried to boot from it.
(I thought maybe it had a utility on it to help fix things or maybe I could copy any important fonts that I accidently trased
(btw do you hold down OPTION C to boot from a CD or APPLE C?
    I tried them all)
I couldn't get it to boot from the CD
Have I really wrecked my computer?
Do we think it's a font problem.
Can I fix it. I'm at the beach in NC and there's no techys around!!!!
I am currently typing this email on the laptop so it's not completely dead.
Just super slow and threatening to die.
    What should I do??!!!
Did I mention today is my birthday?
    PowerbookG4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

It's either OPTION or C. Unfortunately, the Install CD doesn't give you much access to file operations (no Finder) as Mac OS 9 and earlier did.
If you could start it in Target Disk Mode and mount the drive on another Mac, or boot it from an external drive with a Mac OS X installation on it you could try to recover files that aren't already backed up.
