Is there an equivalent for CL_GUI_ALV_GRID->get_current_cell in web dynpro abap?

Hi Ismail.
ON_CLICK and ON_CELL_ACTION are only triggered when the cell editor is a link or a button but not when clicking on an input_field. And all my cell editors are input fields.
Any other ideas?

hello gurus,
       i have one requirement in webdynpro for abap alv.i have one alv table in that i have one coloun employee name.
for that i have provided F4 help and that is editable field.if i select value from F4 help it is getting value correctly and it is showing properly at the same time it is allowing values entered manually insted of from F4 help.but as per my requiremnet it should not allow any manually entered values.how can i get this functinality. i am not aware indepth od WDA.
could you go through my isssue and could you revert me some solution.

   I dont think this is possible because when you can change the value using F4 then it would obviously be
   possible to enter manually.
   You can try using a drop down instead because in drop down you cannot enter values manually,
   But this would be good if the values that can be shown in drop down are very low, if the values are more
   then again user will face problems selecting values.
   Else you can try out what srinivas suggested, But dont know whether we can have two cell editors at a time
   inside a single cell of ALV. Please post the answer if you have found any other way to do it.

Cell Selection & ALV Table (SALV_WD_TABLE)

Hi Experts,
is it possible to select more than one cell (not row!) in an ALV Table?
I changed the cell editor to cl_salv_wd_uie_input_field and set the whole table editable.
Now I am able to select one cell, but what about multiple selections? In the Java world I found this one: TableSingleMarkableCell
Sounds good - what about ABAP?
And if there is no way with the ALV Table, how I might get the functionality with other components?

I tried to integrate the cell variant TableSingleMarkableCell. But I think the ALV table does not support this cell variant, or am I wrong? The runtime class is .CL_WD_TABLE_SNGL_MARK_CELL

I will try to explain:
When you want to use a cell variant, it is necessary to "add" it to a column. Therefore you can use the public method "ADD_CELL_VARIANT" of the class "CL_SALV_WD_COLUMN".
This method has got a "value" import parameter which is a referencing the class "CL_SALV_WD_CV".
The thing is that the only sub class of "CL_SALV_WD_CV" is "CL_SALV_WD_CV_STANDARD" and this means that the TableSingleMarkableCell is not supported.
Or did I made a mistake? This is my last chance to use a cell selection with the alv component.

Merging of 2 Cells in WD ABAP ALV Header & Dynamically change the header

Hello Experts,
I have two main requirements with respect to WD ABAP - ALV report creation
1) Two feilds in the header of ALV GRID created in the WD ABAP screen must be merged as shown below(Month Column) ,
| January | February |
| Col 1 | Col2 | Col 1 | Col2 |
2) The header value(Month) should dynamically change based on the current date.
For Eg: If June 2011 is the current month , the ALV table should start from June 2011 and displayed till May 2012.

WD Abap Alv With hierarchy

hi folks,
i use an wd abap alv with hierarchy, on EVENT CLICKED on a CELL never gives me the correct R_PARAM->INDEX back as it does without hierarchy.
how can i find out the exactly row which is behind the clicked cell?????

Hi Oliver,
Hierarchy is one type of setting in WD ABAP not like in normal ALV. I think there is no way to set the lead selection index in the case of Hiearchy, why becuase you can able to select only the leaf nodes only not all the nodes in the hiearachy. For the leaf nodes you can make the lead selected node. Just try to access the leaf node and find out that how you are accesing depending on that you can set the leaf node as selected.

Cell selectable in table

Hi everybody,
is it possible to make a single cell selectable in a table in Web Dynpro for ABAP?
In simple ABAP it is possible and you can catch the coordinate while raising an event (button).
In Web Dynpro when I am using "input fields" instead of "text view" for the cell editor I can go into a cell, but it isn't selected.
By the way the table should not be editable ...

Problem is solved.
Solution:
As described I have a context attribute "marked_cell" typed WDR_EXT_ATTRIBUTE_POINTER.
After selecting a cell my method behind the button could read the coordinates with the following code.
DATA lo_el_context    TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element.
DATA ls_context       TYPE wd_this->element_context.
DATA lo_marked_cell   LIKE ls_context-marked_cell.
DATA lv_marked_column TYPE string.
DATA lv_marked_row    TYPE string.
* get element via lead selection
lo_el_context = wd_context->get_element( ).
* get single attribute
lo_el_context->get_attribute(
    EXPORTING
      name = `MARKED_CELL`
    IMPORTING
      value = lo_marked_cell ).
* lo_marked_cell contains direkt the column
lv_marked_column = lo_marked_cell-attribute_name.
* Additionaly we need the row number the user selected
lv_marked_row = lo_marked_cell-element->get_index( ).

ALV to select more than one column by row using set_table_for_first_display

Hello everyone,
I am developing an application (ALV OO) to select more than 1 column by row ( one ). This is an a holiday application so the idea is:
-One column will be the day, and the row will be the user.
So I am trying to select more than one day by user (that would be the row).
I am using the method set_table_for_first_display but when it shows the alv, doesn't let me to select more than one column with a click of the mouse.
Does anybody know if I can do this (select more than one column, by row) in somehow?
Please let me know if you need more clarification about this.

Beyond setting this option, you can set u201CNO_ROWMARKu201D option to hide the mark column which is normally visible when the selection mode allows multiple row selection.
One point to notice here is that if you set your ALV Grid as to be editable, it may override your selection mode regardless of your layout settings.

Set ALV Cell visibility property

Hi,
I would have 2 tables for ALV. One table consists of the data to be bound to the ALV. The other table would have the read only property(boolean) filled for each of the ALV cells.
I would want to set the property of each ALV cell using the second table. How do i do that?
Currently i am just testing it for few attributes statically using the below code.

In my case, the columns represents dates. The rows represent projects. So, only those row cells are editable where the project is valid.
1. I have created READ_ONLY attribute for the date node (table).
2. I am filling the READ_ONLY to abap_true or abap_false based on the following condition.
 Even if one of the projects is not valid for a date, then READ_ONLY = ABAP_TRUE. This means, even if one cell is set to abap_true, then READ_ONLY is set to abap_true.
3. I modify the date node and bind it with the READ_ONLY set row wise.

How to restrict the cell selection in JTable based on cell contents...

I have some problem related to table cell selection.
I have a table that represets the calendar of some month and year.
I have the restriction that at one time only one cell could be selected.
Now i want the cell seletion like this,
I want only those dates to be selected if that date is after 'today'.
that is I want to restrict the selection of previous dates.
how can i do this.

Web Dynpro ABAP ALV menu button icon image

Does anybody know how to add or link an image or an icon to a menu button in a
Web Dynpro ABAP ALV view?
I know how to do it in the alv table column but can't find a method for a menu button.

Problem in cell selection in JTable Java Swing

I am using JTable that shows data from database. I have developed one functionality. I change one cell value and then select multiple cell. If I press F12 function key then it copies first selected value and past it to another selected cells. it is working properly but when I press F12 it sets the last selected cell in editable mode. I want that all cell which has been pasted should be selected (with default blue colour not in editing mode). I am using ListSelectionListener for JTable Cell Selection and KeyListener for F12 functionality.
Please give some solution
I can not override editCellAt Method because i have already extended JFrame. and i tried to do this with Jtable.getSelectedColumn and getSelectedRow it is displaying the same value, by this how can I get the particular area of selection means Row nd Column Selected.
How would I know the current selection when user selects more than one cell???

All KeyEvents are passed to the editor for the cell and the editor is psuedo invoked. They (Sun) could have filtered out some of the keys such as those, though, because as noted by the OP the current behavior is unintuitive.
To better control when the cell is editable based on the KeyEvent you can override the table with code like <snipped>
As you suggested using a Key Binding will prevent this behaviour as well (but only for that key).Right again, but in this specific case that is acceptable (the developer wants to attach a specific behavior to a specific key only).
