WD4A Component/Application configuration (urgent! please any comments)

Hi experts,
I want to adapt qimt_notification_app. I just want to blank some fields via implicit variant configuration.
I found out, that RPLM_QIMT_NOTIF_MAIN_COMP is the main component and refers to RPLM_QIMT_NOTIF_COMP.
I made a component configuration from RPLM_QIMT_NOTIF_COMP and put some UI elements of the views invisible. Afterwards I made an application configuration based on "qimt_notification_app".
Now I have troubles to bind the component configuration to the application configuration. Can anyone tell me to which Component Usage I have to add the component configuration? I bound it to all RPLM_QIMT_NOTIF_COMP components but when I test the configuration it doesn't work.

Looks like there is some problem with the PanelGroup that I have bound to a property of the managed bean. I use this panel group to generate the menu. Since menu changes depending upon various factors, so every time menu changes, I clear the children of the Panel and add new components to it. Perhaps that's the reason I am getting this error...
but isn't that the purpose of binding a component to backed bean property, so that we can make changes to it from the backing bean.
Is it a bug or I am doing some thing wrong?

   Good question for u.
   I am sending an email containing list of defects through SAP Transaction QM01 to my customers.
   The email reaches the recipitent with sender mail id
as [email protected] .
   Here jaya01 is the SAP Logon Id and Company is the domain name. (This is not the correct email Id)
Assume jaya01 has the email id as [email protected]
I want the email posted from the SAP system through QA01 shuld go from [email protected] (sender) to my recipitents .
I think , I have described the problem clearlyy..
   Could anybody help me!!!!

   I am sending Email through the TXn QM01.
   When I click SEND Email, the Email Editor pops up and i am able to compile and send the Email.
   The Case here is the SAP sends this email through SOST Queue and adds our SAP Logon ID as the Sender Email Id. ie if my logon Id is Jayak01, then the SAP sends as if the Email was sent from the Email ID : [email protected] (This is the Virtual Id)
But the valid email id for logon user JayaK01 would be [email protected]
Problem Here Is:
   When the receiver tries to reply for the sent email through REPLY option, then I wont be able to receive the replied mail. Since [email protected] was not the proper Id!!!
What SAP Does (My Understanding):
   SAP collects our Logon Id and domain from the SAP R/3 and makes up the Sender Email Id as [email protected]
   I should avoid this!!!!
   Here I have read the correct email Id of the Logon User and send the email to my receiver as if it was sent from the proper email id ([email protected])
I hope, now I have clearly explained my requirement.

I have configured the SMD on Solution Manager 4.0 SP 11, LMSERVICE SP12 (Before it was SP 11 but is still had the same error)
Wily Introscope 7.1.
The solution has been published and I able to use all the other diagnostic modules except for E2E.
When I click on any E2E Workload/Exception etc I get the following message
"This application is not yet configured. Please refer to the E2E post-installation steps"
What are the specific steps to enable my application for E2E?

Urgent:Please Help. Need to deploy web application with servlet:(

Tomcat 4.0 is already installed.
Trying to deploy a web application and invoke a servlet through it.
Here is the command I am using for deploying the application:
http://localhost:8080/manager/install?path=/NewApplication&war=file:d:\Tomcat4\webapps\NewApplication
The application get deployed. However, I have a problem. As soon I stop and restart the server, this application is gone.
1. Please someone help: How should I make it permanent so that the application stays even if I restart the server.
2. I am not able to access the servlets placed in the /WEB-INF/classes/ sub-directory under NewApplication directory.
If you need I can cut and paste the web.xml file which will show the deployment descriptor.
Please help: How do I make this work. I need it urgent.
Any help will be appreciated.

The simplest solution would be to put the war file inside the webapps directory and restart the server. You should be able to access the app using the http://servername/app

Configuration Component or Application Configuration in PCD?

Hi,
If I develop a self-service application based on FPM, do I have a choice between implementing a Configuration Component and implementing an application configuration in PCD? Or, both of them should exist/be created?
I'm confused between the both.
Is sap.xss.BaseConfigurationID a mandatory parameter for a self-service app?

Component and Application Configuration not working

Dear Friends,
I want to disable the reject button in HCM Processes and Forms Webdynpro component HRASR00_PROCESS_EXECUTE and in application asr_process_execute only for some specific roles in Portal. So I tried to use the component configuration followed by the application configuration and passed this configuration id as a application parameter in the Portal, but its not working.Please find below the config steps which I did, let me know if I am missing anything.
1. Created a new Component configuration ZTEST for the Webdynpro component HRASR00_PROCESS_EXECUTE and changed the property of the Reject button to "Invisible".
2. Created a new Application configuration ZTEST1 for the Webdynpro application ASR_PROCESS_EXECUTE and included the component configuration in the application configuration.
3. Created an Application Parameter WDCONFIGURATIONID for the Webdynpro application ASR_PROCESS_EXECUTE and hard coded its value as ZTEST1(Application configuration ID) for testing purpose.
4. Tried to test the application from Portal, but didn't work. I don't think the UWL customization is required at this point as we have hardcoded the WDCONFIGURATIONID in the Webdynpro Application.

We had a same issue....the work around we got was that we had to create an enhancement...we removed the standard button...and created our custom button in place of the standard button....of course...the action method for our custom button was the same as the standard button....now since it is a custom button we were able to control the visibility of it....
you can try to do it the same way....there is no coding involve in this...only removing the standard button and placing in your own button....SAP does not allow changing the properties of the standard ui elements.....just want to mention that by removing the standard button...you are not actually removing the button....it stays on the layout....but it will not show up when you run the application....but your own custom button will show up....
If you do not know the procedure of removing the standard ui...it is fairly easy...right click on the ui element under the ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER...and select remove element....as i said before do not worry you are not removing it completely...it stays on the layout...and if you want to put it back...just right click on it again and select "undo deletion"....that is all
once you have your custom button there...you can control it the way you want...depending on the role....

I did the 9.3.1 REPORTING ANANLYSIS installation and then applied 9.3.3 patches,
when i am trying to use reports in workspace it is throwing the below error:

I tried restaring and rebooting ,killing java.exe services, still it givng the error, it is bit urgent,

That usually means either FR is not running or the Web Server is having trouble connecting.
Do either of these links work:
Direct

Through web server:
http://websvr:19000/hr/modules/com/hyperion/reporting/web/common/HRCore.js
If neither work - then check the FR logs
If 8200 works and not 19000 you might try reconfiguring your web server using the config utility. And check the web server configuration.

I am also not getting the concepts properly on :
delete archivelog all completed before 'sysdate-7';
delete noprompt expired archivelog all;
delete noprompt obsolete;
Is the delete within the RMAN pieces or within the folder. It would be great if someone can explain me on these

Step 1: Delete from folder "previousdaybackup"
Step 2: Move last night backup from "/archive/backup/rman" to "previousdaybackup"
Step 3: Run RMAN and backup is stored at "/archive/backup/rman"
Stpe 4: Data is backed up to DLT cartridge from "/archive/backup/rman"
The folder "/archive/backup/rman" is a separate partition from SAN mounted in the LINUX SYSTEM as ext3
Why did you chose filesperset=15, do you have specific purpose?Well I am looking at existing RMAN in the place and not changing any basic configuration. Frankly speaking I do not have answer to this.
I have changed the RMAN commands as

          spfile format 'D:\archive\backup\rman\cscdb1\spfile_%d_%s_%T.bak' tag 'spfile_backup'
          database format 'D:\archive\backup\rman\cscdb1\data_%d_%s_%T.bak' tag 'full_data_backup';
          crosscheck backup;
          sql 'alter system archive log current';
          crosscheck archivelog all;
          backup filesperset 288 format 'D:\archive\backup\rman\cscdb1\cscdb_data_archive_%d_%u' archivelog all not backed up 2 times;
          delete noprompt archivelog all completed before 'sysdate-7';
          delete noprompt expired archivelog all;
          delete noprompt obsolete;
I feel that I will be in a safer side.
Please provide comments. Anything that will increase knowledge base and will educate others too in this forum.

That DLL is part of your printer driver; reinstall or update the device driver for your printer, and the message should go away.

Hi Rohit,
With the component configuration, you can control the behavior of each individual component within a Web Dynpro application or the user interface of individual views. For each component, several records of configuration data can be created.
Using the application configuration, it is now possible to assign the configuration required in the current application to all the components used.
In short : Component Config belongs to WDP Component and Appl'n Config. belongs to WDP Appl'n.
