WDJ application in portal disable detailed java dump

Dear Gents,
In case of application issues or when session between portal and R3 disconnects, we get a big Java dump in the portal. I know we cant help with that, but since we would not like our users to see that much technical stuff, We would require them to just see 1 simple error page.
I know there is a setting in portal for that- might be running it in development mode, but cant remember.
Could someone please help me with this along with a link or more information on how to do it.

Hi All,
I'm working on the Portal branding. We have SRM BP deployed in our portal. I've created custom theme and desktop for the user.
I'm able to see the portal's different section as per custom theme. WDA/WDJ application's UI which is opening in the content area of portal is also showing as per theme.
When I'm trying to access the SRM BP portal content which is the collection WDA/WDJ application, inside portal content area showing as per theme. But one WDJ Iview related to MDM catlog data is opening in new window, in that WDJ UI is not taking custom theme color. UI is showing default theme "tradeshow".
I tried few SAP note(Note 1446099 - Web Dynpro application not displayed in customer theme) to synch the patch of portal and WDJ stylsheet but no luck.
Pl share your input to solve the issue.

When i tried to set the default Web Dynpro theme by modifying the sap.theme.default property, which is also located in the Propertysheet default folder with the below URL, no success:-

Can we control the top level navigation in portal from a java application

Hello,
I am having a scenario where User logged in to portal and assigned with 2 roles (HOME , ISA(Java application)). When user opened a form in ISA (Java application) and tried to enter the data in form and moved to another tab (e.g. HOME) in top level navigation.
When user come back to ISA (Java application) TAB , we show the page where he left earlier. I would like to know if user click any other TAB in top level navigation (Role assigned to him) while working on a page in ISA(Java application) is there any way we can catch that event before he leaves from ISA (Java application JSP page) to other TAB?
How can we control the top level navigation events in the portal from a java application .Since Top level navigation is seperate par file.

Top Level and detailed navigation values comes with iteration in the respective par file.
Please check the par file and based on the value (i.e tab name) selected, you can write your code.

Embedding java based application in portal

hi ,
I want to embedd a java based application..Iam giving the pageURL in provider file..will it work r any problem..
i want to display that application as portlet.is mentioning page url is enough..that is tomcat..
Second way:if i copy all jsps and source files to htdocs and create a war file and ear file..will it works..
how to mention in provider.xml file to show this application in portal.
is there any specific way..

Our expirience with these types of applications is that you will need to integrate your jsp files (to some degree) into Oracle's jpdk framework, which essentially means some of the functionality of your jsp files may not work properly unless you switch to use many of JSP files with the JPDK api (i.e. custom tags and custom api calls so that the portal can render your application as a java portlet provider).
I think there is also a way that you can deploy your web application in oc4j and possibly use the web clipping portlet to show this java based application, however, I am not familiar with this, and you should probably ask Oracle Support for more information

Theme for standalone WDJ application

Dear Experts,
We are on SAP Portal 7.4, and we have developed a WDJ application using NWDS 7.31.
I have a requirement where I will like to use the Portal theme SAP_CORBU to the standalone webdynpro application.
I have tried using the application parameter sap-cssurl=http://<MyHost>:50000/irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.themes.lafservice/themes/portal/sap_corbu
But this does not work.
I have also tried whether this method works for other themes like sap_chrome or not.
It does not work.

SAP_CORBU is supported only if you use Unified Rendering Lightspeed. Set iView parameter Stylesheet to ls and check Supply Portal Stylesheet. See below for how the pre EHP5 Who's Who Web Dynpro Java application looks like with SAP_CORBU. As always you should use SAP_CORBU only with applications that support it. In case of custom application, you will have to adhere to known restrictions with SAP_CORBU. See SAP notes 1681286 and 1852400 for details.

WDJ application deployed but not listed

Hi experts,
we've upgraded our AS Java running the Portal and a custom WDJ application from NW7.02 to NW7.40
I expected some problems with the custom application but not the kind we've ran into. We did not do any recompilation of any kind just to see what would happen. The application actually deploys fine according to the logs (both from telnet as well as from NWDS) but it's nowhere to be found. I've deployed both the .ear as well as the generated .SDA file. In both cases the deployement log show "Success".
I can see the application in the telnet LIST_APP command (status: started) but it doesn't show in the list of the WDJ applications in the WD Content Administration, nor in the Portal Content section for WDJ applications.
Any ideas what could have happened?

Slow PI 7.1 import Java dump install step

An SAP doc says "Buffer synchronization is not required in central systems with only one application server and must be switched off." My system is just that, no distributed, just on one machine. Windows 64, Max DB 7.7.
I also found the relevant parameter (rdisp/bufrefmode), and tried to set it in keydb.xml and control.xml, but does not interest him. After several hours, installation just does nothing anymore. No CPU usage, nothing.
There is not other DB load on the system.
How can I disable that stupid buffering sync in the installation ?

Could only solve it by moving to Linux SLES 64. There the installation worked without problem.

WDJ embedded in Portal, component load wdDoInit

Hello guys,
I'm facing a problem that i can't solve,
I have a WDJ application embeed in portal, that maps multiple WD Views to the portal IViews (these views are from the same WDComponent)
So i got a list, at the portal navigation, of WD Views, what i'm doing is firing a outplug on the wdDoInit method of each WDView to show one InterfaceView of another component.
My problem : when i click the detailed navigation links, the WDComponent that has those WDViews is created, and all the WDViews are created also, multiple times. Example:

B
C
If i press A, views A, B, C, are beeing loaded, and because each WDView is already slowly, the application is 3x Slow
What is a possible solution to solve this?

WebStart Application is not working in Java 7 u45

My Eclipse RCP application ( launched with WebStart (.jnlp)) crashes on startup while launching with Java 7 u45.
I've added to the manifest:
Permissions: all-permissions
Codebase: *
Trusted-Library: true
This removed all of the warning messages from the Control Panel. But I still have a loading issue. I see following messages (Missing Application-Library-Allowable-Codebase) in java console while downloading many jarfs/plugins

I solved this error by myself as follows:
So, what I did was; I started the RemoteGui.bat (C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC00\SDM\program) and from the Undeployment tab, I selected mainapp01 and com.sap.engine.docs.examples.
The reason I undeployed the above applications was because when I was trying to deploy the mainapp01 application, it gave an error saying that : Cannot deploy application pcbp.com/mainapp01.. Reason: Application alias [/] for application [pcbp.com/mainapp01] already exists in the HTTP Provider Service. The application that holds this alias is [sap.com/com.sap.engine.docs.examples .
And, then I restarted the J2EE engine and from the SAP Netweaver Developer Studio, I again deployed the mainapp01 application on the local J2EE engine and it was deployed successfully.

Not able to run web dynpro application from portal.

Hi portal experts,
I want to run my web dynpro application from portal.
So created a seperate iview and a role for the purpose.
Assigned the iview to the role and also mapped a abap user id to the new role created.
But when I click on 'preview' the iview , getting the following dump.

Are you able to run teh web dynpro application independtly i.e. without creatin an iview.

or there also you are getting the error.
i guess there also you should be gettign the error.
this is some problem with the FQDN settings in the abap system.
in the host name of the web dynpro applciation server one .(dot) is must.
so you might have to change the host name to some thing like mnghcmsap. from mnghcmsap

Hi,
1. Did you select java path (Export CD/DVD) while intsallation? Check once again.
2. Add JAVA_HOME = Java path in environment variable.
3. What is the exact error, you got it, post error here.

Hi Experts,
I havwe a requirement in which the portal webdynro application is to accesed through java mobile phones , but the portal is designed for computers(desktops).....
my query is that how to reuse the same portal app for the mobile phone and can we have wrapper for mobile so that the mobile phone uses 'light' mode of portal
