  • Java-enabled mobile phone

    Can I get the list / specification of latest mobile phone with Java enabled, include all brands around the world. (Nokia, Samsung, Motorola... ...)
    Any good reference, or sites?
    Thanks in advance.

    Oh..the list is amazing, actually I am developing Midlet related software, it is hard for me now because I cannot know how much the storage/max jar size/heap size/memory for different phone, unlike Nokia, they did provide full details online, can I know the others, where someone already put the data online.
    Thanks again.

  • JAVA enabled mobile phones

    I'm rather new in J2ME and want to develop applications using Sockets support. I know sockets are not supported in midp 1.0, but my Siemens Phone (M50) supports it as an added feature. I tested it uning Connector class and it works properly. But a doubt arise then.
    I'd like to develop compatible programs as far as possible. So I'd be very glad if someone could tell me :
    - Which mobiles support J2ME+midp 1.0+Socket ? (Or where could I find a list ?)
    - Which mobiles support J2ME+midp 2.0 ? (I suppose 2.0 supports Socket)
    - Is there any difference between midp 1 and midp 2 Socket programming ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Javamobiles.com used to be a good resource, but seems to be outdated now. Try http://kissen.cs.uni-dortmund.de:8080/devicedb/index.html. It has a nice overview over different phones and devices, including API and connection type support.
    As far as MIDP 2.0 goes, I don't think there are any devices available yet.

  • With out portal server can we enable mobile mail?

    for example i using only messaging server,is it possible to enable mobile mail?
    if iam using portal ,i can use MAP to enable mobile mail,but with out using portal how can i enable mobile mail?
    plz give me the sugg.
    thanx

    If you're using a fully-capable web browser, why would you need a gateway? Just hit the webmail url, and you're done.
    If you would rather use a "fat" client, Messaging is fully capable of responding to any client that talks IMAP or POP. No gateway needed.

  • Enable 'Mobile Phone' and 'Telefon at work' under ESS-SAP -Enterprise Portal (SAP-EP)

    Hi,
    I want to enable the IT0105 subtypes Communication ID i.e. 0020 and MPHN for users to be able modify this data through Portal. While I am aware of a telephone number field being available already under ESS- Address Information, would it be possible to record the users telephone at work and mobile phone at work through any standard options?
    Is there a possibility through FPM anywhere? We are looking for a non-customizing option and any possibility to avail this option through Standard or minimum customizing would be really helpful.
    Could anyone here please provide your inputs on this case.
    Warm Regards,
    Vinay

    Yes it is possible with configuration in EHP6 and later with subtype specific UIBBs. See Exciting Enhacements to ESS Personal Information Profile in Enhancement pack 6 for details. This discussion thread belongs to the SAP ERP HCM Employee Self-Service space.

    Hi Kanagaraja L,
    Thanks for you response.
    No I haven't created Created RFC Destination , this RFC destination will be of my JAVA system ???.
    I have tried creating the partner logical system in WE20 and dine the following steps:
    1. Partner No.   IDES800     Ides 800 System - Sender System
        Partn.Type    LS          Logical system
    2. The tab Post processing : permitted agent is filled with default parameters.
    3. Then in the outbound parameter table control I have pressed the add record button and got a new screen in
        which I have made the following entry :-
      Partner No.           IDES800        Ides 800 System - Sender System
      Partn.Type            LS             Logical system
      Partner Role          LS             Logical system

    Under tab Outbound options :
    Receiver Port  = A000000008  (This I have selected from F4 help)
    Basic type = SYNCHRON
    Saved it with the above data.
    Now I am not able to understand how to do the things you have mentioned in 3rd step in your reply.
    What are all the things I have to do kindly tell , as I am very new to Idocs so don't have much knowledge.

    Since no one has answer this post, I recommend opening  a support case with CSS as they can work with you to solve this problem.

  • Java on mobile phones

    Hey! I must admit I am not a specialist (as a matter a fact - just the opposite).. I've got one question though.. I downloaded this software nav4all - a worldwide navigation sys for mobile phones.. but it turns out that some phones do not support it because supposedly their Java engine is different. Can someone explain please? what are the differences?

    J2ME ("Java 2, Micro Edition") has a bunch of different "profiles" for different levels of devices, and those profiles themselves have different versions. The more recent versions are a major improvement over earlier versions. It's possible that this software uses some of the features of the later versions.
    It's like trying to install software for Windows XP on a computer running Windows 3.1.
    My phone has a menu item that says what versions of these java profiles are available. I suspect that your phone does as well, probably in the "settings" area. Take a look, if it's there you can compare it against the requirements data for nav4all.

  • Detecting mobile phone browsing

    Trying to find a solution to detect if a user is browsing a
    specific web site from a mobile device, and then redirect them to a
    simplified version of the site?
    Any ideas?

    You could do as darrel has suggested and but if you want
    automatic redirection the you want to put a script in place that
    detects what useragent a browser is using. Below are some. the
    WURFL database will give you huge list of useragents.
    IE 6 .0 on Windows XP SP2 with .NET Framework 1.1 installed:
    Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR
    1.1.4322)
    IE7 beta running on Windows Vista — Mozilla/4.0
    (compatible; MSIE 7.0b; Windows NT 6.0)
    Firefox 1.5b1 on Windows XP — Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U;
    Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050908 Firefox/1.4
    Opera 8.51 on Windows XP — Opera/8.51 (Windows NT 5.1;
    U; en)
    Pocket PC IE on Windows Mobile 2003 — Mozilla/4.0
    (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320
    Nokia 6230 Mobile Phone:
    Nokia6230/2.0+(04.43)+Profile/MIDP-2.0+Configuration/CLDC-1.1+UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0
    You will need to use ASP which is server-side detection
    rather than javascript with alot of mobile phones have trouble
    with.
    You could try this code below, though you wil need a large
    list of user agents:
    <%
    userAgent = Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_USER_AGENT")
    isMobile = false
    if((InStr(userAgent, "AvantGo") > 0) OR (InStr(userAgent,
    "Windows CE") > 0) OR (InStr(userAgent, "NetFront") > 0) OR
    (InStr(userAgent, "BlackBerry") > 0) ) then
    isMobile = true
    end if
    if isMobile then
    response.redirect("
    http://www.namesandnumbers.com/mobile")
    end if
    %>
    Hope this helps
    regards

  • I have Samsung C3222 which is Java-based mobile phone so can I still use Firefox on it?

    I recently bought Samsung C3222 which runs on Java. I want to use Firefox on my mobile. Is it compatible? I love using Firefox on my Asus laptop but I am not sure if it will work on my cell phone. Help.

    Hi TonyE,
    Thank you for quick reply. I will miss Firefox on my cell phone but no worries. I am still a BIG FAN of Firefox and always recommend it to my friends. Thank You.

  • Iphone Vs.mobile phone browsing .mobi

    I find a lot of times when I browse to some popular web sites (amazon, MySpace etc.) That I'm automatically routed to the Mobile site in default. I really get frustrated when I'm given this Mobile site in stead of the real deal. Is there a way to get around this mobile system? I though that with Safari we were able to go to the Real website instead of the mobile version.

    This is determined by the web server hosting the site, not the iPhone. The iPhone is capable of visiting the full version site but instead you are redirected by the page.
    Most sites have a link on the bottom to return to the full site or offer an alternate site address to get you to the full site.
