Web access of oracle 10g (10.1.2.0.0) Application

Hi,
I've migrated my application from Tomcat and JBoss to Oracle 10g (10.1.2.0.0).
I am able to access my application by url
http://localhost:7200/index.jsp or http://127.0.0.1:7200/index.jsp.
But when I am trying to access my application by giving m/c name or m/c ip address insted of localhost in the above url, i am not getting access to the application.
Do I need to configure any where for remote access of my web application?
Thanks
Bhogi

I got the fix for the issue posted by me few days back.
In Oracle 10g AS, port 7200 is diagnosis port, which will only work for localhost or 127.0.0.1.
The application is accessable on the configured http port (default 7777)

  • How do I view Migrate Data errors - Access 2003 - Oracle 10g

I'm trying to use the SQL Developer to migrate data from an Access 2003 database to an Oracle 10g database. I followed the instructions found here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/migration/workbench/files/omwb_getstarted.html
I was able to complete every step except the actual data move. I exported the xml for the Access database, I captured the export and then ran the generation scripts on my target Oracle database (I'm using the same schema for the migration repository and the actual data). It created the tables with only one or two errors which I resolved.
Now, when I select Migration->Migrate Data, I get the dialog that appears to start 4 or 5 threads and attempts to migrate each table. They all error and do not transfer any rows. I can see that there's one error per table, but I can't see the error text. I just know that an error occurred. Is there a log somewhere or is the error displayed somewhere else? How do I know what's gone wrong?
    Thanks.

I too receive unexplained error counts using the Migrate Data menu selection and unexplained failures using the Generate Data Move Scripts menu selection. Permissions granted by role or direct grants should not be a problem, but a Migrate Data error appears in the Migration Log panel at the bottom of the SQL Developer window, "Failed to disable constraints: ORA-00942 ... ". No further details available on what constraints or why the error. No other errors were detected while following the instructions found in the Oracle SQL Developer Migration Workbench Getting Started guide. SQL Developer never migrates the data from the existing Access 2000 mdb file to the newly created schema objects in Oracle 10g using either method. The following roles and privileges have been granted to both the repository owner and the target schema owner:
    GRANT RESOURCE TO MIGRATE_USER WITH ADMIN OPTION;

    ALTER USER MIGRATE_USER QUOTA UNLIMITED ON USERS;
Operating system for both Access 2000 and Oracle 10g is Windows XP PRO SP2.
Oracle SQL Developer is version 1.1.2.25 build MAIN-25.79 on Windows XP PRO SP2. All three are on the same PC.
Since only the last step failed, I created a User DSN with the ODBC administrator. Then, linked the newly created Oracle table to Access via ODBC using the DSN created. Next, I created an append query with the source being the Access table and the target being the Oracle table. I moved the data by pressing the red exclamation mark.

Can i assign port 80 for Web Cache and 7778 for HTTP Server ?

  • Error deploying Web Service in Oracle 10g AS (10.1.3.0)

When deploying a secured web service from Oracle EM 10.1.3 i'm getting the following exception
"Failed in uploading archive. Invalid archive file: Invalid value: AES-256"
The same web service (.ear) file is getting uploaded without exception when deploying directly from Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.3.0

The problem solved when creating a webservice ear file with the keystore generated in the machine where the application server is installed.
We created a secure web service (in client machineA) with public/private key encryption (AES 256) and tried deploying it in an application server instance (Server machineA). Doing this gives the following expection (when deploying the ear file through EM)
"Failed in uploading archive. Invalid archive file: Invalid value: AES-256"
We solved the problem by creating a keystore file in the application server instance machine (instead of doing it in client machine) and used the same keystore file to create the ear file which got deployed succesfully.

  • How to change the firewall settings to provide remorte access to oracle 10g

    dear all
I have created the oracle 10g database and it is working properly...but I cant loging with thedata base remotely when the host's firewall is on..when it is off I can connect with the database remotely..how can I change the firewall settings in this case

You need to configure your firewall to allow traffic on the ports listed in ORACLE_HOME\install\portlist.ini.
You do not need to allow all of the ports, just the ports you want to allow traffic. For example if you are not using iSQL Plus you do not have to open port 5560 or the range 5560–5579.
You can find a description of the ports at the following link.
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/install.102/b14316/ports.htm#CIHECDEE

  • Create web service in oracle 10g r2

Hi guys, I am trying to expose a package function as a web service in the database (10g r2) for outside clients to call on. I saw a good example on the following url in 11g http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/11g/NativeOracleXmlDbWebServices_11gR1.php in which you use the dbms_xdb package to configure a port and servlet for accessing the function in the db. However, the 10g r2 version of the dbms_xdb package does not have some of the functions in the 11g version. Eg. dbms_xdb.addservlet, deleteservlet, etc.
How can i go about doing this (without using Jdeveloper)? Jdeveloper creates the web service but the uses your localhost and web logic port in the generated wsdl. I would like something similar to the example above. Can somebody provide an example that works in 10g or point me towards some article that explains how to accomplish this?
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks

If the intention is merely to web enable that procedure, allowing it to be called directly via http, then it can be done 10g using XDB.
XDB supports WebDAV and has a mod_plsql (PL/SQL module interface for web servers) servlet. You configure the Oracle Listener to accept http connections on port 8080 for example and hand it over to this mod_plsql module in XDB. In XDB you configure the behaviour of (and URL signatures supported by) this module.
Note that this deals merely with the connectivity and interface (http to PL/SQL) side - whether that procedure exposes a web services (and returns XML) or whether it returns images or html or text is immaterial from a connectivity viewpoint.

  • Can you import Access into Oracle 10g Express Edition?

    Hi all,
I know you can import files from Access into some other versions of Oracle, but is it possible with 10g XE?
I've been looking at all the tools in my browsers and none seem to do it.
I guess I'll need to convert the tables into text, and then from text into Oracle?
    Thanks

Why not give SQLDeveloper's migration a shot?
You can get it for free here.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/sql/index.html
I've never personally done it, but it doesn't look to mind bending :)
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/11gr1_db/appdev/msamigrate/msamigrate.htm
    Should work fine with XE.

  • Consuming Axis web service from Oracle 10g database

    Greetings,
I have a working web service that I want my Oracle 10.2 database to consume. I've taken the wsdl file from the web service and run it through Apache Axis' wsdl2java function, thus creating the Java client stubs required.
    Is it possible to:
    -Call a PL/SQL function which:
    --Calls a Java class which:
---Calls the webservice which calculates an answer and passes it all the way back to the db?
I can get the db to call Java functions through PL/SQL and I can call the webservice from Java if I call the Java from the command line, but I can't seem to put it all together. When I upload all my Java to the db and attempt to call the method, I get:
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception:
    Java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError
If this is possible, could you please give me some direction as to where to go about doing it?
    Thanks.

Using Axis libraries within the database may not be the easiest way to get started.
Try this: Calling a Web Service From The Database

    Arjun,
you cannot do an online migration with MS Access as you can do with other foreign datasources. You can only do an offline migration.
The first step that you need to do is to call the Microsoft Access Exporter. Click on Tools - Migration - Microsoft Access Exporter and chose the exporter of the MS Access version that you are using.
The exporter creates an xml file for you. After the exporter has finished you can do the migration, click on Tools - Migration - Migrate, but in Step 4 please select "Offline", and then you can select the xml file that the exporter has created. The following steps in the Migration assistant are then doing the migration for you.
You might also want to read the chapter "Before Migrating From Microsoft Access" in the online help of SQL Developer.

  • MS Access to oracle 10g Migration thru command line/script?

    Hi,
Is there a command line for executing OWMB?..One of the customers currently using multiple databases of Access DB are interested in migrating to Oracle but they want the migration process to be very simple...For ex: On the click of a button or if there is something like silent mode migration through some command..
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Veena

    Hi Veena,
There's no command line or silent mode migration facility to run the workbench.
However, the workbench does that have capability of migrating multiple MDB files in the one operation. Using the Exporter Tool for MS Access, which is shipped as part of the OMWB install, the user can select multiple MDB files to export. For each exported MDB file, an associated XML file is generated by the Exporter tool, which contains the database schema information for the MS Access database. The user can then load up all of these XML files, via a wizard, into the workbench, and carry out their migration. The ability to export & migrate multiple database in the one operation should greatly reduce the customer's migration time.
    I hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Hilary

  • Database Web Services with Oracle 10g

Forgive my lack of knowledge on this issue, but we are still researching our options and we have very little experience with these new technologies.
We have been using Oracle Database server for years and we are looking now into integrating or applications to offer farther solutions to our customer as well as to implement a b2b solution.
Our b2b solution consist of a relationship between Partners of our customer via a hub server that would reside on our quarters. In other words our customers servers would communicate with their partners via our server and vice versa.
We are planning to use Fusion to implement our Hub server and my question is:
"Should we deploy A J2EE container to our customer where 'client services' would run to maintain a runtime communication with our hub or can we skip the J2EE container by using Database Web Services?"
    And a related question:
"What Oracle components are required for Database Web Services to work? How are they implemented?"
    Thank you!

After farther reading about Database Web Services, it seems that you still need at least OC4J on the customer side to run Database Web Services. Is that correct?
So if the best approach is to deploy OC4J to our customers, how difficult is to do so and how can I configure each one of my customers so my hub server can uniquely identify each one of them?
