Web as 640 sp9 hangs by step "deploy via SDM/J2EE"
Hi,
I tried to install the sp9 for many times - very frustrating - can anyone help please ?
Follwing products have been installed:
1. webas 640, sp3
2. webas 640, sp8
3. ep6 sp3
4. ep6 sp6
5. But now it struggles - I have problems with applying the <b>patch 9 to webas</b> , the steps until to "deploy online" were sucessfull, but the step <b>"deploy via SDM/J2EE" has an error</b>. In the SAP MMC the process SDM was yellow, and stopped. The file callSdmViaSapinst.log shows:
<i>Nov 24, 2004 8:48:18 AM Info: SDM operation mode successfully set to: Integrated
Nov 24, 2004 8:48:18 AM Info: Initializing Network Manager (50017)
Nov 24, 2004 8:48:19 AM Info: Checking if another SDM is running on port 50018
Nov 24, 2004 8:48:19 AM Error: Could not start SDM - another Server may be running already.
Nov 24, 2004 8:48:19 AM Error: Another SDM is running already for this SDM_HOME directory. Exiting. Throwable: com.sap.sdm.client_server.launch.SDMRunningException Throwable message: Another SDM instance is running on this host</i>
So I stopped the SDM with <i>stopserver</i>, started it again with start <i>sdm jstartup "mode=standalone"</i>
and restarted sapinst - now it worked until the component com.sap.rprof.remoteProfile , now I have the message:
<i>ERROR: NOT updated. The Deploy Service returned the following error: For detailed information see the log file of the Deploy Service. Exception is:
com.sap.engine.services.rmi_p4.P4ConnectionException: Possible problem: no available running server node. Check your running servers.</i>
What now ? I stopped the server, restarted the sapinst from the beginning - the same result. Whats wrong ?
Thanx a lot,
Martin
I had this same SDM issue during an install. I simply stopped and started the instance. and then restarted the install.
However I would review the consiole logs and see why the server would not be running. If the server starts up and then dies it is probably something related to the java paramters. If you changed the paramters via configtool and you properly apply them, I would restart the instance and then kick of install again...
This process worked for me.
Hope this helps,
John

In some Threads they say: Just restart the computer will help. In my case it will not. I always get the same message.
I also have seen that the jcontrol - process for the J2EE server is down and could not be started. When I look at the startupscript for this process, the jcontrol program has to be in the directory .../JC00/j2ee/os_lib/jcontrol.exe. But there is no such dirctory on my computer...
I think the two problems are related.
Hope someone can help. Thanx.
Regards,
Lars OttawaYour JDBC driver is not getting a connection. As the database you're using is not delivered by the installation I guess here may be a version problem. As far as I remember you have to take the version number of SQL Server very serious (up to the third digit).

EP6 sp9 installation get stuck on "deploy via sdm/j2ee"
Hi,
I'm trying to install the ep6 SP9 after I have installed the WAS SP9 and upgrade it to SP13
Now, The installation get stuck at "deploy via sdm/j2ee" stage.
This result is the same after several attempts including shutdown and restrat the processes
There are not any errors on the installaion logs and everything looks fine
Does anybody has any idea what it wrong ?
Thanks
AmiThanks Priya for your reply,
I did saw on the java log file the following error:
<b>
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: iaik/utils/Base64Exception</b>
at com.sap.engine.core.configuration.impl.persistence.rdbms.DBConnectionPool.<init>(DBConnectionPool.java:108)
at com.sap.engine.core.configuration.impl.persistence.rdbms.
This is the only error message I'm getting.
The installation is being freeze for many hours and there is not any CPU load.
So I think that this message error causing the installation to freeze.
Does anyone familier with that error ?
Thanks a lot

Crystal Reports 13 for VS2013 Hangs when report deployed via Clickonce
Hi,
We have upgraded from vs2008 to vs2013 one of our .net C# projects. Project consist of a Server and a windows client. Reports are run in the client, and data transported with disconnected Datasets ( No direct connection to the database ). We use Microsoft clickonce to deploy this application to our users.
The problem we have is that after the migration clients deployed with clickonce experience a delay of about 1 minute while the report is shown with a message "please wait while the document is processing". However if we run the application directly from the filesystem the report is shown immediately.
running the clickonce deployed shows the following message using process monitor, however after ~1 minute the report displays correctly.

Code:
CrystalReport1 c = new CrystalReport1();
public Form1()
InitializeComponent();
c.Load();
Stopwatch s = new Stopwatch();
private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
if (c.IsLoaded)
crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = c.FileName.Replace("rassdk://", ""); ;
Console.WriteLine("crystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = c;:" + s.Elapsed.TotalMilliseconds.ToString());
* Note:
1. the report from the code above is empty and has no connections to database.
2. Using Vs2013
3. Using SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio - Service Pack 9 - Fixed Issues and updates - Busines…Hi,
Finally found the issue:
Our windows application every 20 minutes ( 1 minute in debug ) check for clickonce updates in an independent thread using CheckForDetailedUpdate method and then it sleeps.
public void ApplicationUpdateTimerThread()
int updateInterval = applicationUpdateTimer.Interval = 1200000; // 20 mins
if (ApplicationDataAccess.IsDebug) { updateInterval = 60000; }
while (true)
UpdateCheckInfo updateInfo = appDeployment.CheckForDetailedUpdate();
Thread.Sleep(updateInterval);
Doing this was locking the filesystem where now Crystal is putting their temporary report files and therefore preventing file access until the thread was active again ( The reason for the 60 seconds delay )
So Creating a new thread to only check for update and let it die inmediately fixed the issue.
public void ApplicationUpdateTimerThread()
int updateInterval = applicationUpdateTimer.Interval = 1200000; // 20 mins
if (ApplicationDataAccess.IsDebug) { updateInterval = 60000; }
while (true)
System.Threading.Thread t1 = new System.Threading.Thread (delegate()
{ UpdateCheckInfo updateInfo = appDeployment.CheckForDetailedUpdate(); });
t1.Start();
Thread.Sleep(updateInterval); -
SAPINST hange creating database Web AS 640 win 2000 SQL 2000
When I run sapinst to create a web AS 640 instance, the process hangs when creating the database tables. The message says (something like) "info: attempting to create BC_INDX_LOCKING table"
When you look in SQL Enterprise manager, that table is there, and so are several others with later time stamps.
When you look in MMC at the SQL logs it says the database has been 100% analyzed, which tells me the database is in fact completed.
I've tried all sorts to overcome this so any help would be gratefully accepted.Hi Paul,
Try deleting the database and run the SAPINST again. If it doesnt come up, please post the error in the trace file.
Regards,
Siva
P.S: Award points if you find this useful. -
ABAP+Java - MSCS Configuration on Web AS 640
Hi
We are in the process of migrating our CRM 4.0 running Web AS 620 (ABAP+J2EE) to CRM 4.0 Web AS 640 (ABAP +J2EE) on Windows 64 bit Microsoft cluster with Oracle 10g.
I have gone thru lot of installation guides for ABAP + J2EE (640) and do not find the steps for adding J2EE Server (640) to the Cluster.
As per the various guides, I believe the following procedure is right:
1) Install CI (ABAP)
2) Install Database Instance
3) MSCS Node A Configuration
4) MSCS Node B Configuration
5) Select Java Add-in for ABAP - Oracle (SAPINST)
- SCS Installation
- Java Database Schema Installation
- Central Instance Finanlization
I am not sure about the Step 5, as I would have choosen Java System Finalization option under Java Add-in for ABAP (Oracle) in the Central System installation. If I choose Jaa System Finalization, the step 3 & 4 would be choosen after the Java System Finalisation.
Any thoughts on this would be highly appreciated.
Regards
ChanduHi
Just to update on my progress.
I noticed there are different options in SAPINST for 32 bit & 64 bit. If you adding Java add-on to ABAP on 32 bit, the said SAP note needs to be implemented as there is no "High Availability option" under Java Add-on for ABAP in 32 bit SAPINST.
However, in 64 bit there is a option for High Availability install under Java add-on for ABAP. So, I believe the steps suggested in the notes are automated in 64 bit.
I checked both the sapinst and noted the following:
32 bit:
NW04 - Java Add-in for ABAP
Oracle
- Central System
- Distributed System
64 bit:
NW04 - Java Add-in for ABAP
Oracle
- Central System
- Distributed System
- High Availability System
- SCS installation
- Java Database Schema installation
- Central Instance Finalisation
- Dialog Instance Finalisation
We are configuring cluster on 64 bit, so i believe the steps outlined in the notes are automated under 64 bit.
Please comment.

Hi,
I am trying to install 11gr2 software on my linux 64 bit server.
I had installled the same 11gr2 software successfully on the same server without any issues.

JDBC realm of FORM authentication in Web AS 640
Hi, All,
We try to port a web application from Apache Tomcat to WebAS 6.40. In the application we use FORM authentication based on Tomcat JDBC Realm. The configuration in Tomcat server.xml is like:
<Context...>
<Resource name="jdbc/mydb" auth="Container" type="javax.sql.DataSource" username="..." password="..." driverClassName="..." url="..."/>
<Realm className="org.apache.catalina.realm.DataSourceRealm" dataSourceName="jdbc/mydb" digest="MD5" userTable="users" userNameCol="userName" userCredCol="passwd" userRoleTable="roles" roleNameCol="roleType"/>
</Context>
In database there are 2 tables for authentication purpose: users and roles. There are column userName, passwd in table users and userName, roleType in table roles (correlated with column userName). Then in web.xml we define FORM authentication:
<login-config>
<auth-method>FORM</auth-method>
<realm-name>...</realm-name>
<form-login-config>
<form-login-page>...</form-login-page>
<form-error-page>...</form-error-page>
</form-login-config>
</login-config>
Has anyone tried to port Tomcat JDBC realm mechanism of FORM authentication to WebAS 640? How do we need to configure J2EE server in Visual Administrator or deploy an application with DeployTool to implement the same features? And does WebAS support declarative MD5 digest algorithm in FORM Authentication?
Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

The way it works is that you declare which pages in your application have got security around them in your web.xml. Whenever a user tries to navigate to one of those pages, they are presented with the login screen. If they login successfully, then they are taken to the page they originally requested.
You should never actually have a link to your login page - the container will serve it when required.Ok, but how do i stop them entering the URL of the login page?
i get this error after logging in correctly if i directly access the login page:
"HTTP Status 400 - Invalid direct reference to form login page"
i tried adding this constraint but it still happens:
<security-constraint>
<web-resource-collection>
<web-resource-name>login</web-resource-name>
<url-pattern>/staffLogin/login.jsp</url-pattern>
</web-resource-collection>
<auth-constraint/>
</security-constraint>
>
One possible way around this would be to create a database view which is a union of the two tables, thus giving you one "table" to query for the username/password/role combinations. That should satisfy the realm requirement.
Cheers,
evnafetsThats a good idea, il give that a shot. Thanks. -

Also onetime for annother system in XI Landscpe I had same issue.
Solution: The listener file should have both logical hostname as well as physical host name entry.Then its worked.

Single-step deployment article from July/August Oracle Magazine Question
Hi,
As I worked through the article "Single-Step Deployment" on Oracle magazine July/August Issue,
I ran into a problem on substep 9 of Step 3 to
change the option of P2_MANAGER_ID with LOV.
The error I got is
LOV query is invalid, a display and a return value are needed, the column names need to be different. If your query contains an in-line query, the first FROM clause in the SQL statement must not belong to the in-line query.
Did anyone encounter same problem?
Any suggestion to deal with this error?
Thanks for any advice.
YYHi,
Have you given your column names aliases?

Import hangs at step "imp single"
Dear all,
I'm importing a change request into the system, and it hangs at step "imp single".
I checked the tp system log, it shows that:

ERROR: I'm waiting 100 sec (Count: 66).

But I'm pretty sure that I have scheduled the job RDDIMPDP as user DDIC.
And I already tried to trigger the job manually, it doesn't work. Seems like the job cannot be triggered by the event....
So could everybody help me about this issue? Thanks very much.
Best regardsHello Georgine,
Just check if any time after you have started the import has there been any run of RDDIMPDP. If not then please do login into 000 once again as DDIC as execute the report RDDNEWPP.
