Web browser connection to oracle
How do you set up users in the client env't when connecting thru a web browser ste into oracle server? Do you create individual users account or is there a generic user account
(because there can be more than 10000 users)?
- Also How do you setup and configure cman?
-
I used this previously at a client as the Insert SQL query driver dropdown does not have the Merant driver listed (as it does in the created database connection box):
JDBC Driver: Other
JDBC Driver entry: weblogic.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
JDBC Connection String: jdbc:weblogic:sqlserver://{server}:{port};databaseName={DB Name}
Hope this helps, Iain

Delayed web browser connection...
I use a verizon wireless broadband to get internet through my Powerbook G4. I then share the G4s internet connection to my G5 through ethernet. This was working no problem, and at a decent speed.
I upgraded my quicktime and 10.4.7. I had significant problems with my G5. After a few reinstalls and then upgrades, in combination with running disk utilities, things are working, but my internet is giving me problems on my G5. When I connect, either through a web browser, or FTP, to an internet site, it will time out twice. Once I hit refresh the second time, the page will load quickly without a problem.
I can't think of the problem, I've turned off firewalls on my G5, and tried to disable whatever else I can think of. I have used 4 different browsers (firefox 1 and 1.5, IE, Safari) and had the same results. When I check the internet connection on the G4, its working perfectly.
AND when I share the connection through firewire, rather than ethernet, i have the same result, of the slow internet and necessity to connect several times before it works.
please, anyone?...any thoughts guys? Or does this sound more like an OSX issue?

Firefox Web Browser connectivity and email issues with Comcast connection
I have been having an issue with Firefox conecting through Comcast both to xfinity home and especially to email for the past 2 to 3 months. I finally solved the problem. Comcast requires no proxy setting. To solve the problem go to Firefox Tools, click on Options, click on the tab Advanced. Click on Settings, the check the box for "No proxy". Click Ok. And that did it! Am I glad. Reading email was getting very tedious with all the waiting.

hello, if site open on their own you may have a malware issue:
# [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems|reset firefox]] (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
# afterwards go to the firefox menu ≡ > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
# finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] and [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner] to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.

Data Modeler 3 (EA1): Connection issue when connecting to oracle 11R2
Hi all,
When I try to create a connection object for a oracle 11r2 database I get the following error:
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-22285: non-existent directory or file for FILEEXISTS operation
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_LOB", line 725
ORA-06512: at line 5
when I test the connection.
I have checked the oracle 11r2 instance and have 3 directory objects and all are correct;
SYS ORACLE_OCM_CONFIG_DIR /opt/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.1/ccr/state
SYS DATA_PUMP_DIR /opt/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.1/rdbms/log/
SYS XMLDIR /opt/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.1/rdbms/xml
What can cause this problem. I have the same issue with the older version of the data modeler
ThanksHey if you want me too I can create a tar/sr.
It happens even when I log in as sysdba. The three directory objects on the file system are all owned by oracle and oracle can rwx into those.
My user can see XMLDIR but does not have read/write on the directory object all other it does have read write.
Thanks.

Remote front panel with viewing mode in monitor jams if two browser connects
I made a exe with the vi attached, with the web publishing viewing mode set to monitor every 1s.
I copy all the executables and generated files to a target computer. The target computer is 4 CPU 2Ghz, 1Gb RAM, Windows 2000.
If I open a client web browser connection to the remote panel, everything is fine, I can see updates every 1s or so.
But if I open two client web browser connections, the display in the two web browser grinds to a halt, and the exe in the server computer slows down from 1s update to 6s update.
If shut off one client web browser, the other client browser and the exe in server go back to normal speed.
So what is the problem? How do I solve this problem? Is this problem solvable?

E71 web browser will search for WLAN connection in...
The E71 web browser will search for and present a list of WLANs whilst the phone is in offline mode without asking first. When you then select a WLAN from the list, it does ask if you wish to create a WLAN connection in offline mode. Surely it should ask before searching?
With new FW i can't set, that browser ask me.
Before new SW , browser alwasy give me an option to choose wlan connection..
I this a bug in new FW ? -

Issue Connecting from Oracle Business Component Browser - adf-config.xml
There are similar posts in the forum to this, but I wasn't able to glean from them what I should do.
Essentially, I tried Connecting by:
right clicking on a node under a Model project, and selected TEST.
When the Oracle Business Component Browser - Connect Dialog window opened, I clicked CONNECT.The Oracle Business Component Browser (Local) seems to have opened fine, but in the message log I see this:

matt.techHi,
the adf-config.xaml file is not created by default and not needed by default. you need this to define custom skins or ADF Security.
For an example of adfs-config.xml doe skins see SRDemo sample app

How to run an applet with JDBC connectivity on a web browser
I've created an Applet in Java with SQL connectivity...i.e. it retrieves certain data from a table in SQL and puts in the TextField.....
Now, the problem is that this Applet works in NETBEANS....but fails to work when I use a web-browser..or the "appletviewer" command....
It says that it doesn't have permission to access local files....On Research, i've found that it is somethin' related to the concept of "Signed Applets", "Permissions" & "Security Policies" in java which doesn't allow any applet (without Certificate) to access Local Files.....
Can Somebody please tell how to overcome this problem.....?I'm going to be blunt with you. You are most likely going to have to redesign your application from scratch. And if it turns out you don't have to then you should anyway because it's a bad idea and fraught with peril.
Anyway here the major touchpoints on this discussion. You can be the judge of how these various points apply to you.
- Applets are restricted. - Yes Applets have a number of security restrictions on what they can or cannot do. This is designed to protect users from malicious applets. By signing your applet you can request permission from the user to do certain activities that are otherwise restricted. But not all.
- If you are using the JDBC-ODBC bridge then you need a different driver. If you sign your applet it might work in some limited scenarios but it will be hairy and is discouraged.
- If you are using Access or another file based database (CSV Excel etc) then you are doomed. You'll have to get yourself a different database. A non file based one. It doesn't matter if you sign your applet or not. You're still doomed.
- If you are trying to connect to a database server that is not at the same physical address as your web server you are doomed. Signing the applet will not help
- Connecting directly to a database from an applet is extremely risky business. Starting with now anyone can steal your username and password for your database quite easily.
What you should do in the redesign is put all the database accessing code in a Servlet. This Servlet does not have to be Java, it could be PHP, Perl, ASP, etc. It doesn't matter. Just put it on the server side. Then have your applet connect to this code via a webservice to do what is required. -
Opening OEM for two Oracle 11gR2 Databases in the same web browser automatically log out.
Hi to everyone,
I have an issue regarding Oracle Enterprise Manager in 11gR2. I have two database (SWPROD, PDPROD) in a single server. When I open the OEM URL for SWPROD it is successfully logged on but when I open the OEM URL for PDPROD and successfully logged on the other tab for SWPROD will automatically logged out. And when I switch to the other tab for PDPROD it is also automatically logged out. Both OEM URL is open in a single web browser like Mozilla Firefox. What would be the reason why both OEM URL will be logged out when I open them at the same time?
Thank you for your incoming response.Well it seems the only way to clear these out of EM was to shut BOTH RAC nodes down and power them up one at a time. Now the updates aren't shown as required and my compliance score is where it should be.
Is this a bug ? Seems pretty stupid to have to shut down both RAC nodes to fix this. Powering a single RAC node off and back on did not clear this.

i use firefox as my internet browser. when i go to itunes to download music it says i am not connected to the internet when actualy i am. what am i doing wrong?
Firefox is a web browser not a homepage.
It sounds like you you have the old www.google.com/firefox/ start page that used to be the default homepage in Firefox before Firefox 4.0 sometime. It is not being maintained by Google anymore so either ignore the message or while in Firefox go to Tools->Options->General->Homepage section and change your homepage. -

Ea6300 causing network issues when connecting to web browser on my Mac
I have had my ea6300 for two months and its causing major issues when connecting to my web broweser before I throw it out the window can someone give me some help.
Hi bigtimer30, what do you mean by “it’s causing major issues when connecting to my web browser”? Do you mean that the MAC computer is no longer able to access the internet? If yes, is it with both wired and wireless connections? Is this happening to all of your devices? Or just that specific MAC computer? If all the other devices are still able to connect except the MAC, I suggest that you do a power cycle on the computer (if you haven’t done it yet). And you’re having difficulties with the wireless part, try to hard wire the computer straight to your router, and check if you experience the same thing. If the wired connection is okay, you may try playing with the router’s wireless channel. Better if you could give more details for us to give you more suggestions.
